    AceShowbiz – R&B superstar The Weeknd has given his smash hit “Blinding Lights” a Latin revamp with the help of singer Rosalia to celebrate the song’s one-year anniversary.
    The Canadian artist, who was sensationally snubbed in the Grammy Awards nominations last month (Nov20), teased the collaboration by sharing a photo of the pair on Instagram on Thursday (03Dec20), hours before the “Blinding Lights Remix” premiered on Friday.
    Rosalia opens the track in Spanish, before switching to English as The Weeknd joins in for the chorus. She changes languages again towards the end of the tune, before The Weeknd closes out the single in English.

    The song revamp is sure to boost the popularity of “Blinding Lights”, which was certified platinum in the U.S. in just four months, and was just named Spotify’s most-streamed song globally in 2020.

    The song was taken from The Weeknd’s latest studio album “After Hours”. Despite having a commercially and critically lauded album and single, the artist didn’t get any nominations at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
    “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…,” he blasted the Recording Academy.
    He later added, “Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited? In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited!”
    The comment sparked speculation The Weeknd and Grammy bosses clashed over his decision to headline the Super Bowl, but Recording Academy chief Harvey Mason, Jr. insisted that’s not the case.
    “To be clear, voting in all categories ended well before The Weeknd’s performance at the Super Bowl was announced, so in no way could it have affected the nomination process,” the Grammy boss claimed.

    AceShowbiz – Shawn Mendes has described his new album “Wonder” as his “favourite art” to date.
    The 22-year-old singer released his fourth record on Friday (04Dec20) – the follow-up to 2018’s self-titled LP – and he is delighted with how the collection turned out.
    “(It is) my favourite art that I’ve ever made in my life,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I know I really feel like I created an album that feels like freedom. I felt very free just making it. I felt like this is music that I love to listen to, this is music I want to hear, this is music I want to make and it’s gorgeous for that reason.”
    The “Stitches” hitmaker collaborated with fellow Canadian pop star Justin Bieber on “Monster”, and revealed the song – which references the flip side to fame – was written three years ago.
    “(It was written) when I was actually feeling a lot of (pressure about) who I was in a relationship with and (people) wanting to push me into this box…” he explained.

    “Three years later, I actually listen back to it and it makes me think of every single person who has Instagram or Twitter and every single person who is checking their Instagram every five minutes to see if people approve of the last thing they posted.”
    “It’s tough, because there is this (societal) pressure that everyone has and is putting on each other, and something that is so true and I don’t think is talked about enough is that the human condition is messy.”
    Meanwhile, Shawn admitted he is “pretty mushy” when it comes to his romance with Camila Cabello and uses their love as inspiration for his music.
    “I think we are both super sensitive, which creates a lot of sensitivity in our relationship, but we are songwriters, so we are constantly searching for the best topics in life,” he smiled.
    “I don’t know, I am pretty mushy… I feel like she would probably say I am much more mushy.”

    Gene Simmons and co were due to hit the road this summer to continue the extensive last jaunt around the globe.
    However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, the rockers are postponing their European shows until June and July 2021, with the 17-date run now due to kick off on 2 June (20) in Antwerp, Belgium.
    And Gene, 71, has revealed one of the gigs out of the 150 they are yet to complete will require them to wear their thermals.
    Speaking on Los Angeles radio station 95.5 KLOS, the “Heaven’s On Fire” rocker said, “We’ve already booked Europe outdoors. Most of the shows have already sold out. We start in summer.”

    He continued, “We’re gonna continue this tour, which we stopped after doing 110 cities. We’ve got another 150 cities to go, and who knows how long, but some of the later ones are gonna be jawdropping.”
    “You can’t imagine what we’ve got planned – like, beyond … I said, ‘No. We can really do that?’ They said, ‘Yup. Yup.’ The political people said we can play there. And so there’s gonna be stuff that’s just gonna make you go, ‘That’s the coolest.’ ”
    Speaking about the icy location, Gene added, “There’s one place that’s the coldest place on earth.”
    “And if you can imagine us playing there with even larger pyro than you’ve ever seen, ’cause there’s nothing around there. But that’s all I’ll say about it.”
    In the meantime, the “Rock and Roll All Nite” group have a livestream set planned for New Year’s Eve, which will take place at the Atlantis, The Palm resort in Dubai attended by an in-person audience of between 2,000 and 3,000 people – all limited to hotel guests, who will undergo coronavirus testing and other health and safety protocols before gaining access.

    The “Cotton Candy” hitmaker has admitted his split from the “Without Me” hitmaker – who he briefly dated last year – was his first real “heartbreak” and is the inspiration behind the emotional ballad “Love Song”, which shows a vulnerable side to the otherwise hyperactive rocker.
    On the bridge, Yungblud croons, “They will try to pay for me to erase all the memories / But I can’t / But you shine so bright in a spotless mind / Someone gets left behind.”

    In an interview with British newspaper The Sun, Yungblud – real name Dominic Harrison – said, “It was my first heartbreak. It just wasn’t meant to be for us. That doesn’t mean we don’t love each other in some sort of way.”

    The musician hailed Halsey “a genius” and insisted their romance was the real deal and by no means just “ammunition” to make the headlines.
    He continued, “I have such respect for her as an artist.”
    “I think she’s a genius. She taught me a lot and I like to think I taught her a lot as well. It’s very easy to use a Hollywood relationship as ammunition to get you more press or keep you relevant but our love wasn’t that, it was deeper. It was the real thing.”
    Yungblud is also proud that the emotional number showcases his versatility as an artist.
    He said, “I’ve been labelled bratty but that song shows my vulnerability. I can’t be put into one box.”
    “Love Song” is featured on Yungblud’s new album, “Weird!”, which debuted on Friday 4 Dec (20).

    The long-awaited record will be the band’s first album of original material in almost a decade, following their self-titled effort in 2011.
    Evanescence have released a new single, “Yeah Right”, to mark the album announcement while they’ve also previously released three other tracks – “Wasted on You”, “The Game Is Over”, and “Use My Voice” – from the upcoming record.

    Amy Lee, the co-founder of the band and their frontwoman, previously admitted she approached the new album in a different way.
    “This has been a different process for us. Even pre-pandemic, I wanted to do this in a different way,” she explained. “Instead of getting all of our songs written and ready to go, and then going in the studio and recording it the traditional way all at once, I had been enjoying the way that we’ve structured our schedule the past couple of years, in that we just keep breaking things up.”
    “We would go on tour for about six weeks, and then come off, get a little catch-up time with our family, and then get together and write music. Then we would go back on tour, and we did a type of music and touring that was very different, with a full orchestra.”

    The ‘Big Day’ rapper has been slapped with a lawsuit by his former manager after the latter was fired following the lackluster performance of the hip-hop star’s debut album.

    AceShowbiz – Chance the Rapper’s former manager is demanding $3 million (£2.2 million) in unpaid commissions in a new lawsuit.
    Pat Corcoran, known as Pat the Manager, alleges the hip-hop star, full name Chancellor Bennett, ignored his advice regarding the timing for release of his debut album “The Big Day” and then fired the representative following the 2019 project’s poor performance.
    In court papers filed in Cook County, Illinois on 30 November (20), Corcoran claims the independent rapper, who was riding high on the success of his three early mixtapes, had to rush the album out after prematurely announcing the release date before he had even written or recorded any of the material – even though its scheduled launch was just five months away.
    Corcoran goes on to explain, “Compounding the issue, Bennett’s recording efforts were compromised by unproductive and undisciplined studio sessions.”
    “Procrastination and lackadaisical effort, perpetuated by various hangers-on uninterested in the hard work of writing and recording, resulted in a freestyle-driven product of subpar quality.”

    “The Big Day” debuted at number two on America’s Billboard 200 chart, but failed to meet many fans and critics’ expectations, and led to Chance scrapping plans for a subsequent promotional tour at the last minute.
    According to Corcoran, he had been urging Chance to pull out of the live shows immediately after the album disappointment, but he waited until just five days before its launch to delay the gigs, and then cancelled them completely.
    Corcoran was eventually fired in April (20), with Chance appointing his brother, fellow rapper Taylor Bennett, and their father, Ken Williams-Bennett, to oversee his career, despite having “little to no experience in the music industry.” His former manager believes he was used as a scapegoat for the flop album, “rather than accept that his own lack of dedication had doomed the project,” and claims Chance is now refusing to pay for work completed during his term as manager, with Williams-Bennett offering him a total of $350,000 (£260,400) to settle the dispute.
    “Despite months of outreach and efforts at reconciliation, Bennett has refused to pay Corcoran the amounts Corcoran is fairly owed under the parties’ long-standing agreement and well-settled course of conduct,” his lawyers write.
    Chance has yet to comment on the legal action.

    Expressing her displeasure, the “My Type” femcee took to her Twitter account on Friday, December 4 to put her label WBR on blast. “I am extremely disappointed in my label WBR for prematurely releasing a single I was so excited about,” she wrote on the blue bird app. “I feel disrespected. I’m hands on with ALL of my creative & had such a dope rollout for ‘best friends.’ The thirst for clout & $ is real & it overrides the artists’ art.”
    In another tweet, Saweetie continued, “We put so much work into the visual & we shot for days for this super cinematic girl anthem. And for this to happen? wow….” She also revealed in a follow-up tweet that they uploaded the incorrect version, saying, “The wrong version at that smh. Like wtf???”

    Saweetie slammed her label for releasing Doja Cat collab song early.

    Fans immediately rallied behind her and sent support to the femcee following her posts. “#weloveyousaweetie: I love you so much baby. I will always support you through thick and thin.     However, Brian “Z” Zisook, vice president of content operations at Audiomack, claimed that Saweetie’s label wasn’t the one to be blamed for the early release. “FWIW: Warner did not officially release this record. We were notified 8 hours ago by the label that it is being delayed until January. Very odd situation,” Z wrote on Twitter.
    WBR has yet to respond to Saweetie’s claims.
