Courtney Love Blames #MeToo Moments for Her Short-Lived Acting Career

    Instagram

Looking back at the time she got nominated for a Golden Globe, the Hole frontwoman claims that ‘no one would believe’ her when she tried to go public with her allegations of sexual misconducts.

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – Rocker Courtney Love quit acting after enduring “a bunch of #MeToo” moments.
The singer dabbled in acting throughout the 1980s and ’90s, but claims she has since turned her back on Hollywood after a number of sexual misconduct experiences.
Courtney didn’t share any details about the incidents, but claimed “no one” would believe her when she tried to go public with the allegations.
Alongside an old snap of herself at the Golden Globe Awards, where she was nominated for her role in the 1996 film “The People vs. Larry Flint”, she explained, “For a few years, because of (the film’s director) Milos Forman, I was a professional actress and a movie star. It was fun as hell. I was nominated for best actress, for a Golden Globe .. One day I might talk about it.”
“I love acting… I stopped being capable of it after a bunch of #metoos . No one would believe me, and it wouldn’t stop. So I left, and it left. And I’m good with it.”

“Maybe, in my next life I’ll be stronger & able to endure it..,” she continued. “I tip my hat to those who can (sic).”

However, the Hole frontwoman, who is currently based in the U.K., admits she does reminisce about her days onscreen.
She added, “I love it here in England. But I sure do miss acting sometimes. To the tune of a great director. One of the greatest experiences, as a woman you can have, I think.”
“All the glamour that comes after that is fun, flamboyant, gorgeous! But the trust one can achieve with a great director? It’s one of the most profound things I’ve ever known (sic).”
Although Courtney claims to have walked away from acting, she most recently appeared in the 2018 film “JT LeRoy”, and she will also feature in the upcoming James Franco-directed drama, “The Long Home”.

'RHOSLC' Star Mary Cosby Shocks Co-Stars for Saying Black Men Are 'Not My Taste'

    BRAVO

When host Andy Cohen points out in ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ reunion that her husband, Robert Cosby, Sr., is a black man, the reality TV star argues, ‘Well, he’s white….’

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby clearly knows her taste in men as she says black men don’t fall into the category. In the “RHOSLC” reunion, she was confronted over her alleged off-camera remarks in which she said, “If I go to a 7-11 and I see Black people, I go to a different 7-11.”
In response to the confrontation, Mary shared, “I said I have a fear when guys are standing out in front of a convenience store….” When host Andy Cohen asked if she was specifically referring to black men, she replied, “I’m black. My son is black.” She, however, added, “My taste of black guys, that’s not my taste…,” confirming that she did like white guys. The remarks surprised the other Housewives.
Andy then pointed out that her husband Robert Cosby, Sr., who previously got married to her late grandmother, is a black man. To that, Mary argued, “Well, he’s white…yeah, I mean lighter…He’s black but my preference is lighter guys…”

However, she appeared to attempt to rectify the situation by expressing remorse for her remarks. “I need to improve on the way I convey things and the way I say things can come across offensive,” she admitted. “I think all colors of black are beautiful and I’m proud of it and I’m proud of my culture.”
Fans quickly took to Internet to share their opinion on the comments. “Mary’s issue is colorism. Anytime she refers 2 her hubby as ‘white’ when he’s a lightskinned black man.. is a colorism issue. Sounds like an issue w/being black, or I’ll say too dark. That reminds me of a slave mentality. & I’m pretty sure she was taught that by her grama. #RHSLC,” someone wrote on Twitter.
“Mary has a black son and a black church taking black ppl money but don’t dig black ppl,” another viewer noted. Someone chimed in, “Mary has internal racism issues clearly….” Another colorism accusation leveled at her read, “Mary is DEFINITELY a colorist with a A LOT of internalized-anti blackness. That’s why she sitting up there with her bleached skin and messy blonde wig. #RHOSLC.”

“You’re Supergirl,” the “IT” helmer casually told Calle, who couldn’t help breaking down in tears as she learned of her casting for the upcoming DCEU film. Not able to hide her excitement, she asked for a moment to “freak out” in the middle of their video chat.

According to the site, Muschietti, DC Films boss Walter Hamada and the producers were blown away by the actress’ toughness and vulnerability that she brought to the role. The actresses, who auditioned for the role, were reportedly not told what part they were reading for, until very late in the process. Calle also did a chemistry read with the Flash depicter, Ezra Miller, with all the processes done via Zoom due to COVID-19.
Calle is best known for her role as Lola Rosales on daytime soap opera “The Young and the Restless”. Kate McKinnon Quits Theranos TV Series 'The Dropout'

    WENN

The ‘Saturday Night Live’ comedienne has left the upcoming television series after she was previously expected to portray disgraced biotech company founder Elizabeth Holmes.

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actress Kate McKinnon has stepped down from upcoming TV series “The Dropout”.
The “Ghostbusters” star had been due to portray disgraced Elizabeth Holmes, the woman who skyrocketed to prominence as one of the youngest self-made billionaires ever in 2014, after claiming scientists at her biotech company Theranos would revolutionise blood testing by using just a pinprick of blood, as opposed to the usual syringe method.
However, her blood-testing machine didn’t really work and the results were inaccurate, and in 2018, she and a former Theranos boss were indicted on a string of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud charges for falsifying results to consumers.
The show, based on the podcast of the same name, was given a straight-to-series order in 2019, with McKinnon on board as executive producer and star, but now she has exited the project.

According to Deadline, Hulu officials are still planning to move forward with the miniseries, and are currently searching for a replacement, ahead of a planned summer production start.
It’s the latest screen project to explore Holmes’ story – it was also the subject of the 2020 documentary “The Inventor”, directed by Alex Gibney.
Jennifer Lawrence had also previously been linked to the role of Holmes in a planned Adam McKay film called “Bad Blood” although it’s unclear if the film, initially announced in 2016, is still in development.
Kate McKinnon is among the “Saturday Night Live” regulars. She also lent her voice to animated series “Nature Cat” and “The Magic School Bus Rides Again”.
On the big screen, the funnywoman was last seen in 2019’s rom-com “Yesterday” and true-story drama “Bombshell”. She additionally reprised her role in the “Magic School Bus” movie.

Cameron Diaz Has No Plan to Return to Acting While Daughter Is Still Young

    WENN

The ‘Bad Teacher’ actress won’t be taking up acting gig any time soon as she is reluctant to spend long hours away from her little daughter with Benji Madden.

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – Cameron Diaz “couldn’t imagine” returning to her acting career whilst her daughter is still young.
The actress hasn’t appeared in a feature film since she played the role of Miss Hannigan in 2014’s “Annie”, but has said she isn’t interested in relaunching her Hollywood career any time soon, as she doesn’t want to spend “16 hours of (her) day” away from her 13-month-old daughter, Raddix.
Asked whether she plans on making an acting comeback during an interview on SiriusXM’s “Quarantined with Bruce”, she replied, “I’m never going to say never about anything in life. I’m just not that person. So will I ever make a movie again? I’m not looking to. But will I? I don’t know. I have no idea.”
“I couldn’t imagine, being a mom now, where I’m at as a mother with my child at her first year, to have to be on a movie set that takes 14 hours, 16 hours of my day away from my child. I just couldn’t. I wouldn’t have been the mom that I am now had I chosen to do that at any other time in my life.”

Aside from being a mother, Cameron – who has Raddix with her husband Benji Madden – is also focusing on her organic wine brand, Avaline, but finds her family life to be “the most fulfilling part” of her life so far.
“Avaline is the only sort of day-to-day work that I’m doing other than being a wife and a mother, which has been the most … rewarding,” she smiled.
“It really has been the most fulfilling part of my life so far. It’s just like so important… I probably somehow waited for this, so that I could do all that other stuff. So I didn’t have any distractions, you know what I mean?”
Cameron and Benji welcomed their daughter in late December 2019, and announced her birth in January last year (20).
In a statement shared on Instagram at the time, they wrote, “She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family. While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute!! Some would even say RAD. (sic)”

Chris Noth Won't Return to 'Sex and the City' Reboot

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The actor, who played Sarah Jessica Parker’s onscreen love interest in the 2008 big-screen adaptation, is not slated to reprise his role in the upcoming project.

    Feb 20, 2021
AceShowbiz – Chris Noth won’t be appearing in the “Sex and the City” reboot.
The 66-year-old actor starred in the hit series as Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) love interest Mr. Big, going on to marry the journalist in the 2008 spin-off movie, but according to the New York Post’s Page Six column, he won’t feature in HBO Max’s upcoming limited series “And Just Like That….”
While it’s unclear as yet how bosses will explain his absence, it’s been suggested that Big and Carrie – who were having marriage problems in the movie sequel – may have split.
And as well as Chris, who is currently starring in “The Equalizer” alongside Queen Latifah, David Eigenberg – who played Miranda Hobbes’ (Cynthia Nixon) love interest Steve Brady – is also not currently slated to appear on the show, though his representative told the outlet he is in negotiations to feature.

      See also…

It has already been confirmed that Kim Cattrall won’t be returning as Samantha Jones, and show bosses previously insisted her absence would be fitting because the programme would reflect the way friendships change and evolve over time.
HBO Max’s chief content officer, Casey Bloys, said, “They’re not trying to say that these characters are reliving their 30s. It is very much a story about women in their 50s, and they are dealing with things that people deal with in their 50s.”
“In real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships fade, and new friendships start. So I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life … They’re trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York. So it should all feel somewhat organic, and the friends that you have when you’re 30, you may not have when you’re 50.”
As well as Sarah and Cynthia, Kristin Davis is also on board as Charlotte York Goldenblatt.
