Britney Spears Works on Her Own Documentary but Fears Dad Would Take Control of the Film

    Instagram

The ‘Hold It Against Me’ hitmaker is reportedly working on a documentary, ‘said in her own words,’ but the singer is afraid her father Jamie would try to wrestle control out of her hands.

    Feb 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Britney Spears has reportedly teamed up with a top female filmmaker to make her own documentary about her life.
The singer took to Instagram to reassure fans of her wellbeing after the controversial documentary “Framing Britney Spears” aired in the U.S., writing, “Each person has their story and their take on other people’s stories !!!! We all have so many different bright beautiful lives Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person’s life it is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens !!!”
The film documented Britney’s mental health struggles and her conservatorship, after her dad Jamie was placed in charge of her life following her breakdown in 2008, and now sources have told the New York Post’s Page Six that the mother-of-two is in the process of working on her own film, “said in her own words.”

“But under her current conservatorship, she fears her father could take control of the film to paint himself in a better light,” an insider told the outlet.
Britney has been battling to have Jamie removed from her conservatorship, with her boyfriend Sam Asghari labelling her dad a “total d**k,” writing on his Instagram Story, “I won’t be going into details because I’ve always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn’t come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom.”
However, one person who won’t be weighing in on the scandal is Kevin Federline – Britney’s ex-husband and father of her two sons.
“Kevin has no involvement with regard to Britney and her attorneys asking to remove Jamie as conservator,” his family lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told E! News. “He has no other position to state with regard to the conservatorship.”

Lena Dunham Reacts to Backlash as TV Show She Produces Uses Real Dead Cats for Dissection Scene

    Instagram

The ‘Girls’ star insists she’s unaware that the new show ‘Genera+ion’ which she executive produces has used real dead cats for an episode depicting a high school biology lesson.

    Feb 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Lena Dunham was unaware that HBO MAX show “Genera+ion” was using actual dead cats for a dissection scene.
The “Girls” star – an executive producer on the programme – has responded to backlash over an episode featuring a high school biology lesson which included actual animal cadavers.
“I am committed in my life and work to the principled, humane and ethical treatment of animals,” she said in a statement to People. “I don’t use animal cadavers in any of my work, ever, and I was not on set or aware that they were used in a recently shot scene depicting a biology classroom assignment.”
“I fully support the scene being edited out of the show.”
The use of real cat cadavers sparked controversy on social media, and the decision was made by the network to pull the scene.

“Genera+ion depicts the unfiltered experiences of high school students and is drawn from many formative moments in the lives of the show’s writers,” a spokesperson for the broadcaster explained to Variety.
“The production recently filmed scenes depicting a biology classroom assignment involving dissection of animal specimens. These were ethically sourced in consultation with American Humane via a biological supply company that works with schools.”
The spokesperson also admitted that two extras chose to leave as a result of the scene and “were released with full pay.”
“Everyone involved was informed in advance that this would be a sensitive scene involving a real dissection; the assistant directors checked in regularly with all participants on set, and two background actors who expressed discomfort were released with full pay,” the statement continued.
“However, after subsequent discussion with the creative team, the scene is being reconceived and will not appear in the series. We deeply regret that this occurred.”
The programme – set to air in spring 2021 – features the likes of Martha Plimpton, Justice Smith, Michael Johnston, and Chloe East, and focuses on a group of high school students exploring their sexuality in a modern world.

Phoebe Bridgers Takes a Jab at Online Feud With David Crosby Over 'SNL' Guitar Smashing

    Instagram

The ‘I Know the End’ singer catches heat from the rock veteran and fellow rocker Peter Frampton for destroying her Danelectro Dano ’56 guitar at the end of her musical debut on ‘Saturday Night Live.’

    Feb 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Singer Phoebe Bridgers has become embroiled in a social media feud with rock veteran David Crosby after he criticized her for smashing a guitar during a weekend (February 6) TV performance.
Bridgers destroyed her Danelectro Dano ’56 guitar after belting out the track “I Know the End” for her musical debut on U.S. comedy show “Saturday Night Live”, and the following day, Crosby was asked for his opinion on the staged drama via Twitter.
“Pathetic,” he grumbled, prompting Bridgers to respond with her own terse comment, writing, “little b**ch”.

Phoebe Bridgers and David Crosby got heated online over her guitar smashing performance.
Crosby later explained his disapproval, after followers pointed out so many of his male contemporaries in the 1960s and ’70s, including Jimi Hendrix and Pete Townshend, had done the same during their heyday.
“Guitars are for playing ..making music ….. not stupidly bashing them on a fake monitor for childish stage drama ….,” he posted. “I really do NOT give a flying F if others have done it before. It’s still… STUPID.”

David Crosby explained why he disapproved Phoebe Bridgers’ act on ‘SNL’.
Crosby refused to back down, continuing, “It’s what you do if you can’t write”, as Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea weighed in, querying, “Hendrix couldn’t write?”

David Crosby responded to Flea’s tweet.
Even fellow rock veteran Peter Frampton offered up his thoughts, admitting Bridgers’ performance art had bugged him.
“It really p**sed my parents off when The Who first did this on Ready Steady Go tv in UK,” he tweeted. “I was devastated watching the gtrs (guitars) and drums being destroyed but found it strangely intoxicating at the same time. Now I’m my parents age it really p**sed me off watching Saturday (sic).”

Peter Frampton weighed in on Phoebe Bridgers’ guitar smashing act.
Crosby kept going, branding Bridgers’ instrument destruction “old, wrong, copy cat…”, adding, it “looks angry, destructive, wasteful, pointless.”

David Crosby continued his attack on Phoebe Bridgers over the instrument destruction.

Instead of letting the critiques get her down, Bridgers poked fun at the remarks, sharing a screenshot on Instagram and quipping, “got some really great feedback from my performance…!”

Additionally, the network orders a pilot for Ava DuVernay’s new superhero show and gives a straight-to-series order to a reboot of sci-fi series ‘The 4400’ that initially aired on USA Network from 2004 to 2007.

    Feb 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – A live-action “Powerpuff Girls” reboot is coming to The CW. The network has announced that it has ordered a pilot for several new shows including the reimagination of popular children’s cartoon and a new superhero show hailing from Ava DuVernay.
The pilot of the planned project is set to follow the titular trio in adulthood. The show will see Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles having grown disillusioned and resentful of their childhood spent fighting crime.
The original cartoon aired from 1998 to 2005 on Cartoon Network with a reboot running from 2016 to 2019. Diablo Cody and Heather Regnier (“Veronica Mars”) write and executive produce the upcoming reboot. Also joining as executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden.

Meanwhile, DuVernay’s “Naomi” is based on a comic of the same name from Powers and House of M writer Brian Bendis. It chronicles a superpowered mystery set in a small Northwestern town, with the lead discovering secrets about her home at the same time she learns a bit about her own occluded origins.
Additionally, The CW gives a straight-to-series order to a reboot of sci-fi series “The 4400”. Initially airing on USA Network from 2004 to 2007, the original show was about 4400 formerly missing people who are all suddenly returning to earth though they have no memory of what happened to them since they disappeared.
The premise reads, “4400 overlooked, undervalued, or otherwise marginalized people who vanished without a trace over the last hundred years are all returned in an instant, having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them. As the government races to analyze the potential threat and contain the story, the 4400 themselves must grapple with the fact that they’ve been returned with a few upgrades, and the increasing likelihood that they were all brought back now for a specific reason.”

Viggo Mortensen Spills How Son's Comment About 'X-Men' Script Convinced Him to Turn Down Wolverine

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

During a chat on ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, the ‘Lord of the Rings’ star opens up about his meeting with director Bryan Singer to talk about him taking on the mutant role.

    Feb 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – “Lord of the Rings” star Viggo Mortensen turned down the chance to play Wolverine in the “X-Men” movies, because he didn’t want to be attached to one character for a decade.
Mortensen famously met with director Bryan Singer about taking on the role in 2000’s “X-Men”, but admits he came away convinced signing on for multiple movies would be a bad idea.
“The thing that bothered me at the time was just the commitment of endless movies of that same character over and over,” he told the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. “I was nervous about that.”
And Viggo’s comic book-loving son, Henry, helped him make his decision, “I did take Henry to the meeting I had with the director as my sort of good luck charm and guide. In the back of my mind I was thinking he could learn something too, because I did let Henry read the script and he goes, ‘This is wrong, that’s not how it is’.”

      See also…

Mortensen reveals Singer went out of his way to explain why he was leaving certain things out of the movie, “The rest of the meeting was him explaining in detail to Henry why he was taking certain liberties.”
And he thinks Henry’s input might have helped in a small way, “There were some things… I mean they straightened most of them out.”
Viggo has no regrets about passing on the role, because Hugh Jackman picked up the part of Wolverine and the “Eastern Promises” star cannot imagine anyone else doing it better.
“I think he did great,” he says. “I’m sure no one could imagine anyone doing it better than he did anyway.”
Jackman played Wolverine in nine movies over 17 years before retiring as the character after 2017’s “Logan”.

Jared Leto's Joker Gets Creepy Makeover in First-Look Pics of Zack Snyder's 'Justice League'

    HBO Max/Zack Snyder

The director also shares details of the sequence in which the Batman villain will appear and its significance to show the Caped Crusader’s hatred toward the Clown Prince of Crime.

    Feb 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – After teased by Zack Snyder on his social media page, the first official look at Jared Leto’s Joker in his upcoming version of “Justice League” has been unveiled in full. Courtesy of Vanity Fair, the two pictures reveal the character’s creepy transformation.
The first of the black-and-white snaps give a close-up look at Joker’s face, which appears to have some scratches on the forehead, below his eye and his chin area. Another image gives an eerie vibe as it shows the Batman villain looking fully insane while sitting in a long, narrow space.

He sports long hair which is slicked back and left hanging on his shoulders, while wearing a hospital gown, which appears to be badly stained. He also wears surgical gloves while sitting on a stool, which is the only furniture seen in the plain room.

      See also…

Leto’s Joker also sports a bulletproof vest festooned with grimy law enforcement badges. “He has tons of badges,” according to Snyder, who describes the badges as “his trophies.”
Speaking to the site, Snyder admits that adding Joker to the movie has always been one of his main obsessions when he’s offered a chance to complete his own take on the 2017 movie. “The Joker is really the only thing that I thought of in retrospect,” he says. “But I will say that it was always my intention to bring Joker into that world.”
[SPOILER ALERT!] In “The Snyder Cut”, Leto’s Joker will appear in a dream sequence set on a ruined Earth after the alien tyrant Darkseid invades and decimates the planet. It is Bruce Wayne’s (Ben Affleck) dream that reveals what will happen if the superheroes fail to stop the onslaught.
“The cool thing about the scene is that it’s Joker talking directly to Batman about Batman,” Snyder says of the scene and its significance. “It’s Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That’s the thing I also felt like fans deserved from the DC Universe. That is to say, the Jared Leto Joker and the Ben Affleck Batman, they never really got together. It seemed uncool to me that we would make it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them come together.”
He continues, “The scene explains why Bruce had the Joker card taped to his gun that you see in ‘Batman v Superman’,” which suggests Batman’s sidekick Robin’s death at the hands of Joker. While noting that there won’t be another Batman film by him, Snyder says he always wanted to show “how they became like this … how he hurt him in a way that no one has, really. Other than losing his parents, it was probably the most significant personal injury to his life.”
“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” is set to be released on HBO Max on March 18.
