'Bridgerton' Star Nicola Coughlan in 'Trouble' After Watching Sex Scenes With Mom

    Instagram

The Penelope Featherington depicter on the Netflix hit series reveals that episode 6 is the most uncomfortable to watch with her mother because of the ‘non-stop sh**ging.’

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Nicola Coughlan found it uneasy to watch “Bridgerton” with her mother. In a revealing new interview, the Penelope Featherington depicter on the Netflix hit series revealed that she was in “trouble” after she and her mother watched an episode filled with “sh**ging” scenes.
The 34-year-old Irish star made the honest confession when speaking on the “Make It Reign” podcast. “I knew pretty well how the episodes went and the amount of sexiness in them,” she first spilled. “When I showed her the first episode and Johnny Bailey’s bum appeared very quickly into episode one, she was like, ‘what is going on!’ ”
“And I have to be like, ‘It’s not my fault I didn’t write it, it’s romance novels and it’s a really important part of the story,’ but I was still in trouble,” she went on sharing. “Then with episode six I thought, ‘oh my God what am I going to do? It’s none stop sh**ging! I am going to be in so much trouble. I said, ‘sh**ging,’ on the Graham Norton show and I was dead.”
Luckily, the Clare Devlin of “Derry Girls” managed to handle the awkwardness. “I was sweating when I watched it back,” she pointed out. “What I ended up doing was just fast-forwarding through all the sexy bits and at the end of the episode, she said, ‘That one was very short!’ ”

During the chat, Nicola also confessed that she was worried whether the series would be a hit before it was released. “Before ‘Bridgerton’ came out, I knew it was coming out on the biggest streaming service in the world on Christmas Day but there was still a part of me that went, ‘Is anyone going to watch this and I need to get people to watch it,’ ” she recalled.
“So on Christmas day, I was going no-one has watched it, no-one will watch this show,” she continued. “I just fully had a moment where I was like, ‘it’s fine, it’s fine, it’s fine, I’ve dedicated a year and a half of my life to it and I know hundreds of people put in so many months of their life into it but it is fine, no-one will watch it,’ and I’ve just accepted that.”

Despite Nicola’s fear, Netflix announced that “Briderton” is its most-watched series after it was viewed by a record 82 million households within 28 days.

'Impeachment: American Crime Story' Set Photo Sees Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky

The ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ actress is set to play the former U.S. civil servant who was involved in a now-infamous affair with former president Bill Clinton in the late ’90s.

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Beanie Feldstein nails her transformation into Monica Lewinsky for “Impeachment: American Crime Story”. In a set photo that circulated online on Monday, February 1, the actress was seen for the first time channeling the activist/TV personality.
The picture taken in Los Angeles set for the upcoming FX series featured the “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” actress donning a blue zip-up sweater with a black leather coat. She had her long dark locks pulled back as she had a cup of coffee in one of her hands.
Also seen filming that day was Sarah Paulson. The “Ocean’s 8” actress will portray Linda Tripp, the former U.S. civil servant whose secret tape recordings of conversations with Lewinsky exposed the now-infamous affair.

The new series is set to tackle the affair between Lewinsky and former president Bill Clinton in the late ’90s that captivated the nation. The scandal ultimately led to the president’s impeachment. After being impeached for not telling the truth about his affair with Lewinsky in December 1998, Clinton was eventually acquitted by the senate in February 1999.
Based on Jeffrey Toobin’s book “A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President” and written by Sarah Burgess, the series will explore “the overlooked dimensions of women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war that cast a long shadow over the Clinton Presidency.” It will also follow the perspectives of Lewinsky, Tripp and Paula Jones, who sued Clinton for sexual harassment.
Also starring on the show are Clive Owen as Clinton and Annaleigh Ashford as Jones. Billy Eichner joins the cast as Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge, who was the one to first break news of the affair back in 1998. Lewinsky herself is involved in the project as she serves as the producer.
FX has yet to set a premiere date for “Impeachment: American Crime Story”.

Zack Snyder Teases Jared Leto's New Look as Joker in His Version of 'Justice League'

    Warner Bros. Pictures

Taking to Twitter to hype up the anticipation for the upcoming HBO Max movie, the director shares a new photo of ‘The Snyder Cut’ that gives a look at the Batman villain.

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jared Leto’s Joker gets a new look in “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”. Hyping up the anticipation for his highly-demanded version of the superhero ensemble film, Zack Snyder has taken to Twitter to share a new photo that teases the return of the Batman villain in the upcoming HBO Max movie.
Though blurry, the picture posted on Tuesday, February 2 hints at Joker’s different look. It seems that Leto’s character sports longer locks, compared to his slicked-back gangster look in “Suicide Squad”. He also seems to wear vinyl glove that gives off a surgical or serial killer vibe as he holds a Joker card.
“Amazing character you created. Honored to have our worlds collide @DavidAyerMovies @JaredLeto,” Snyder captioned the image while appearing to praise “Suicide Squad” director David Ayer and the actor, Leto, as he tagged both of them.

Zack Snyder teases Jared Leto’s new look as Joker in ‘The Snyder Cut’.
Leto reprises his role as Joker, which he debuted in 2016’s “Suicide Squad”, for “The Snyder Cut”, which is Snyder’s version of 2017’s “Justice League”. The actor recently shared his experience of revisiting the character and working with the filmmaker.

“Zack Snyder is a warrior, he’s a madman. I really love him,” Leto told Jake Hamilton on his “Jake’s Takes” show. “With every character I play, I don’t know if it’s because I work so intently and tend to dig really deep and put a lot of time and energy into them, when I’m done playing a part I do miss them a little bit.”
Comparing his performance as Joker to his role as Sparma in “The Little Things”, he continued sharing, “Parts like Joker and Sparma, what’s really great about those roles is they can be intense and dark but there’s also a lot of freedom and abandon there.”
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman added, “It’s fun for me, it’s fun for the other actors, it’s fun for the crew, and with both of those roles there was lots of laughter on the set and a lot of joy because you would improvise and say something really funny. It’s always a lot of fun when you can hear people cracking up on the other side of the camera and I like that quite a bit.”
“Zack Snyder’s Justice League” will also include new scenes of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Ben Affleck’s Batman, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg and Ezra Miller’s The Flash. Amber Heard and Joe Manganiello are also added to the cast to reprise their roles as Mera and Deathstroke respectively.
The movie is scheduled to be released March 18 on HBO Max.

Nicola Coughlan Recalls Accidentally Stabbing 'Bridgerton' Co-Star on First Day of Shooting

    Netflix

Speaking to Kelly Clarkson on her daytime talk show, the actress playing Penelope Featherington in the Netflix hit drama shares her relief that Claudia Jessie remains her friend after the bloody incident.

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actress Nicola Coughlan will never forget her first day of filming on racy Netflix hit “Bridgerton” – because she was involved in a bloody stabbing.
The “Derry Girls” star was really excited to score her role as Penelope Featherington in the TV drama, which is co-produced by TV mogul Shonda Rhimes, but nerves got the better of her when she arrived on set.
“It was my first day,” she tells “Bridgerton” superfan Kelly Clarkson on her U.S. daytime talk show, “and it’s quite terrifying getting a big Shondaland/Netflix job. You think, ‘I just don’t want to screw this up’.”
“They (wardrobe department officials) said to me, ‘You’re very tiny, let’s put you in heels,’ and I thought, ‘Yep, I’ll do anything you want me to do’.”
But things didn’t go quite as the Irish funnywoman had planned and she quickly struggled with her “balance” in the scenes.

“It became evident pretty quickly that with the corset and the heels, my balance was not so amazing so I was walking along and I fell three times,” she remembers.
“The third time I was holding a parasol, which in the wrong hands is a deadly weapon. I fell forward and stabbed Claudia Jessie, who plays Eloise Bridgerton, in the hand, and she just started bleeding. So unfortunately there was a stabbing on the first day, and I was guilty.”

Luckily, there were no bad feelings between the pals.
“It was not good. But she’s still my friend,” laughs Nicola.

Daniel Kaluuya Admits to Having No Recollection Filming Key 'Judas and the Black Messiah' Scenes

    WENN/Avalon

During a post-premiere online discussion for the Sundance Film Festival, the actor portraying Fred Hampton in Shaka King’s new biopic talks about filming the civil rights icon’s famous speech.

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actor Daniel Kaluuya was so absorbed in his role as civil rights icon Fred Hampton in “Judas and the Black Messiah”, he has no recollection of filming key scenes.
The “Get Out” star portrays the Black Panther Party Chairman in Shaka King’s new biopic, and he literally lost himself in the part in one particular segment, in which he delivered Hampton’s famous “I am a revolutionary” speech to a large church gathering of fellow activists.
“It was like the crowd was your scene partner. It was an amazing narrative what Chairman Fred represented. Being one with the people, speaking to the people, and it was like everyone just left, I can’t even remember the takes,” Kaluuya shared during a post-premiere online discussion for the Sundance Film Festival on Monday night (February 01).
“When I say I can’t remember what I did, I didn’t have an idea about how I was going to play something. I just knew I was a vessel. I just let go. Let go and let God (sic).”

      See also…

Kaluuya even drew his energy from the crowd when he found himself struggling to complete the scene. “I would forget the lines and the crowd would pick me up,” he explained, according to the New York Post. “I was losing my voice and the crowd would pick me up… It was just a moment.”
The shoot took place in the same church Hampton visited back in 1969, and filmmaker King admits the authenticity gave everyone involved in the scene a boost.
“The crowd treated Daniel like Chairman Fred as soon as he walked into the church, and he very much fed off their energy,” King shared.
“Judah and the Black Messiah” opens in theaters and on U.S. streaming service HBO Max on 12 February.

Lana Condor Feels 'More Horrible Mentally' Trying to Embrace Fully 'To All the Boys' Success

    Self Magazine

Talking about the effect of her big break to her mental health, the star of ‘To All the Boys: Always and Forever’ credits her boyfriend of five years, Anthony De La Torre, for his support.

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actress Lana Condor hit a low point mentally following the success of “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” because she was so “burned out”.
The young star shot to fame after the Netflix release of the 2018 teen romantic comedy, and reprised her role as Lara Jean Covey for the 2020 sequel, but trying to make the most of her big break left Lana a mess, emotionally.
She told Self magazine, “I was just saying yes to everything because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and you want to capitalize on it, and you want to feel like you’re fully embracing everything.”
“But I’ve never felt more horrible mentally. I was so burned out. I would go home at night and I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t sleep. I would shake going to bed and shake waking up because it was just so much stimulation.”
Luckily, Lana was able to rely on her boyfriend of five years, Anthony De La Torre, for support.
“Anthony – every night or every morning – folds my PJs (pyjamas) and tucks them under my pillow so that I don’t have to go looking for them. That to me is the biggest expression of love. That’s so much better than, I don’t know. A hot air balloon,” she shared.

      See also…

“He’s been there and supportive. Never once has he ever held me back. He always just wants the best for my future. He wants to be a part of it.”
“That’s what I would say to (my character) Lara Jean: If someone’s making you choose (between them and) your career or your future and your success and your path and your journey, that’s probably not the right person to be with,” she added.

To help her mental health, Lana and Anthony moved from Los Angeles to Seattle, Washington, and now she is in a great place mentally and physically.
“I feel more human,” she said of the relocation. “Life is slower where I’m living now, and I have never felt happier, because I feel fuller.”
Lana will return as Lara Jean once more for the third and final film in the franchise, “To All the Boys: Always and Forever”, which is set to premiere on Netflix on February 12.

'The Nevers' First Trailer Shows Superpowers in Victorian England

    [embedded content]

Created by Joss Whedon (‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’, ‘Firefly’), HBO’s upcoming genre-mashing sci-fi series was ordered straight-to-series back in July 2018.

    Feb 3, 2021
AceShowbiz – HBO has unleashed the first trailer for its upcoming genre-mashing series “The Nevers” for viewing pleasure. Released on Tuesday, February 2, the trailer of the sci-fi series features Victorian ladies showcasing their superpowers.
It opens with Lord Massen narrating in voiceover, “It came three years ago, a power that mocks God. Those afflicted are Touched.” A silhouette of what seems like a monster flickers on screen before Amalia True (Laura Donnelly) and inventor Penance Adair (Ann Skelly) enter in fashion.
Later, the trailer hints at the Touched being in danger. “In this war, the cops, the purists, there’s not shortage of people who hate us,” someone notes in voiceover. Elsewhere in the video, Donnelly’s Mrs. True is seen fighting some men who seemingly try to kill a woman who is like her.

Created by Joss Whedon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Firely”), “The Nevers'” was ordered straight-to-series back in July 2018. Its official synopsis reads, “In the last years of Victoria’s reign, London is beset by the ‘Touched’: people — mostly women — who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities — some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of… well, pretty much all the forces — to make room for those whom history as we know it has no place.”
Also starring on the series are Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson, Amy Manson and Pip Torrens. The cast further includes Denis O’Hare, Zackary Momoh, Elizabeth Berrington, Kiran Sawar, Anna Devlin, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin.
“The Nevers” is set to air on HBO in April, though a specific date has yet to be announced.
