Paul Bettany Jokingly Blames His English Background in Response to 'Wandavision' Snotgate Saga

    Disney+

When appearing on ‘Good Morning America’, the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ actor fires back at co-star Elizabeth Olsen for accusing him of leaving snot on her lips during a kissing scene.

    Jan 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actor Paul Bettany has fired back at his “WandaVision” co-star Elizabeth Olsen after she accused him of leaving snot on her lips during a kissing scene.
The stars play an unlikely superhero couple in the new Disney+ series, which debuts on Friday, January 15, and during a TV interview earlier this week Olsen went public with the embarrassing moment, revealing it really made Bettany mad when she pointed it out.
But appearing on the same show, “Good Morning America”, on Wednesday, the Brit insisted the snot was Olsen’s – not his.
“(It’s a) gross miscarriage of justice,” he said. “During a kissing scene… snot appeared on both our lips, which is of course disgusting. I was a gentleman and kinda went away and pretended it didn’t happen and she, rather grumpily, pointed the finger at me.”

“I can prove categorically it was her snot, not my snot… If Elizabeth ‘Snotter’ Olsen – as I call her – were here today, she would be the first to tell you when she gets emotional in a scene her nose runs before the tears come, whereas I’m English… and unable to express emotion.”

Both stars, who have appeared in countless Marvel movies, have made it clear their outrage is just a fun line to help promote the new series.
In related news, Marvel boss Kevin Feige reacted to people calling the half-hour sitcom weird, at least compared to other Marvel shows. “Weird is good,” he said. “I like weird. After ‘Endgame’, after the completion of a 23-movie Infinity Saga, we were soul-searching about what was coming next. ‘WandaVision’ being our first for Disney+ is perfect. It was always about pushing the boundaries of storytelling, doing something we could only do with the narrative structure of television.”

Debra Messing Sets Eyes on Role as Lucille Ball in Aaron Sorkin's 'Being the Ricardos'

    WENN/Joseph Marzullo

The ‘Will and Grace’ star offers up her availability after fans tweeted suggestions that she would be a better casting choice than Nicole Kidman to star opposite Javier Bardem.

    Jan 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – Debra Messing is actively campaigning for the role of comedy queen Lucille Ball in Aaron Sorkin’s new film after learning Nicole Kidman is a frontrunner.
Kidman is reportedly in final talks to portray the American TV icon in Amazon’s “Being the Ricardos”, opposite Javier Bardem, who will portray Ball’s former husband and “I Love Lucy” co-star Desi Arnaz, and Messing, who won acclaim for her take on Lucille in the final season of “Will & Grace”, isn’t happy.
“In my opinion…Nicole Kidman is an awesome actress…but Debra Messing would be perfect to play Lucille Ball,” one fan opined on Twitter. Echoing the sentiment, another fan added, “Nicole Kidman is the best actress of her generation. One of my all time favorites. I would literally put her in every movie, tv show, etc. But her being cast as Lucille Ball is…not it.”
Retweeting comments from fans who felt she would be a better casting choice than the Oscar-winning Australian, Messing offered up her availability, referring to a 2020 Variety interview, in which she declared she wouldn’t be interested in playing one of her heroines because Lucille Ball is “untouchable”.
“Ummmmmmmmm I changed my mind,” Messing wrote.

Debra Messing reacted to her past comment that she won’t portray Lucille Ball.
Other than that, she let her fans do the bidding, with one writing: “Nicole Kidman is NOT RIGHT FOR THIS PART. Debra Messing was born specifically to play this part. She can play comedy AND drama… Nic cannot. Plus LOOK AT DEBRA,” while another urged Amazon bosses and Sorkin to “pick up the godd**n phone and call @DebraMessing right f**king now.”

One fan suggested Nicole Kidman to step aside and let Debra Messing play Lucille Ball.
A third commenter went on to suggest Kidman should step aside and let someone else shine in the role, tweeting: “Nicole got enough d**n jobs. She on everything HBO has. Let someone else eat. Debra would smash this (sic).”

'Teen Mom 2' Star Briana DeJesus Explains Mom's Racially Offensive Comments

    MTV

In a new interview, the MTV personality defends her mom Roxanne, insisting that her ‘mom is not racist,’ after she’s being accused of using racial slur in one episode.

    Jan 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – Briana DeJesus has broken her silence on her mom’s usage on racial slurs in the December 29, 2020 episode of “Teen Mom 2”. In a new interview with PEOPLE on Wednesday, January 13, the MTV personality defended her mom Roxanne, insisting that her “mom is not racist.”
She also said that her “mom did not use that word” in an uncensored version of the MTV stars’ conversation about her ex Devoin Austin from the episode. “It’s so frustrating for people to think that my mom would say that word or would be that type of person when she has been Devoin’s biggest supporter,” she added.
Roxanne also weighed in on the allegations. “I’ve been really sad and really emotional about it, because we’re talking about Devoin,” so she shared. “I didn’t say it, clearly it’s there. It doesn’t work out for anybody when you assume. I love Devoin and will always have his back. I will always want the best for him. And it just breaks my heart to think that this happened.”

The mom and daughter duo also shared that they’ll be supporting each other amid the scandal. “We’re on this journey together. Some way, somehow, we have to make it work for Nova,” she said, referring to Briana and Devoin’s nine-year-old daughter. “This doesn’t affect me or Briana as much as it will affect Nova. I just need him to relax, calm down, and it’ll all work out in the end.”
She continued, “I always work on a relationship with him — no matter how disappointed or angry or hurt I am, Devoin and Nova’s relationship, to me, is priority number one. It’s not about us, it’s about Nova, the biracial child. She knows about both races, she loves both sides of the family, and we won’t let anything change that.”
In the said uncensored clip, Roxanne could be seen exploding after Devoin leaked her cellphone number online and used a curse word, which was previously bleeped out in the original episode since it violated FCC guidelines. “Next they’ll be knocking on our f***ing door because this d*** gave out your information,” so Roxanne said in the clip.

John David Washington Stands by Age Gap With 'Malcolm and Marie' Co-Star Zendaya: I'm the Rookie

    Netflix

The Sam Levinson-directed drama for Netflix has been met with backlash for pairing up the ‘Tenet’ actor and the ‘Euphoria’ actress despite their 12 years of age difference.

    Jan 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – John David Washington was not “concerned” about the 12-year age gap between him and his “Malcolm & Marie” co-star Zendaya Coleman.
The 36-year-old “Tenet” star and the 24-year-old “Euphoria” actress play the titular filmmaker and his girlfriend in the upcoming drama for Netflix.
And John has insisted Zendaya is a woman beyond her years and has “far more experience” in the movie industry than he does so he’s been “learning” a lot from her.
“I wasn’t concerned about it because she is a woman,” he told Variety. “People are going to see in this film how much of a woman she is. She has far more experience than I do in the industry. I’ve only been in it for seven years. She’s been in it longer, so I’m learning from her. I’m the rookie.”
“I was leaning on her for a lot.”

“Some of the stories she’s shared about what she’s had to go through with Twitter and everything. I appreciated her wisdom and discernment when it comes to this business. I admire that.”

Heaping praise on “The Greatest Showman” star and the flick’s director, Sam Levinson, for the “versatility” they brought to the film, he added, “What I’m really excited for people to see when the film is released – they’re going to see how mature she is in this role. We’re talking about versatility, and Sam and Zendaya brought both.”
The two stars quietly shot the film in Carmel, California, from June 17 to July 2, 2020, after Zendaya contacted “Euphoria” showrunner Sam to ask him if he could write and direct a movie during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Within six days, he had written the story – which is said to have “echoes of” Netflix’s “Marriage Story” and features a number of social themes being experienced during the pandemic – and had John in mind to star opposite Zendaya.

Phil Collins' Ex-Wife Being Eyed for Potential 'Real Housewives of Miami' Reboot

    WENN/Johnny Louis

Bravo is said to be ‘having preliminary conversations for a potential return’ of the show with Orianne Cevey being claimed to be among those in the running for the new cast.

    Jan 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – Phil Collins’ ex-wife Orianne Cevey is reportedly being lined up for a potential reboot of “The Real Housewives of Miami”.
According to the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, U.S. TV network Bravo is “revisiting” the show – which initially ran from 2011 to 2013 and made household names of stars including Larsa Pippen – and having “preliminary conversations for a potential return.”
Sources told the outlet that bosses are considering bringing back some former cast members, as well as adding some new faces – with Cevey among those in the running.

      See also…

Page Six added that singer Paulina Rubio is also apparently among the potential stars set to be cast in the reboot.
Cevey has hit headlines in recent months due to Collins suing her and her current husband Thomas Bates to try and evict them from the property he claims he still owns. She was initially married to Collins from 1999 to 2008 and after they split, Cevey went on to marry Charles Mejjati, before reuniting with Collins in 2015.
Cevey secretly married Thomas Bates, 31, a month after splitting from Collins this summer, and while the drummer initially tried to evict the pair, they have now reached an agreement that the couple will move out of the house in January and it is now up for sale.
In her court documents, Cevey claimed that before they reunited, Collins told her he would give her half of their new home if she divorced Charles and gave up her stake in their $20 million Miami estate. She has accused him of going back on the promise.

Armie Hammer Decries 'Vicious' Attacks Over Leaked DMs as He Exits 'Shotgun Wedding'

    WENN

Citing concern over his children amid the leaked DM scandal, the ‘Call My by Your Name’ actor says Lionsgate is supporting his decision to step down from his role in the Jennifer Lopez-starring movie.

    Jan 14, 2021
AceShowbiz – Armie Hammer has broken his silence after his alleged DMs leaked online and caused social media chatter. Following the scandal, the actor has departed an upcoming movie, “Shotgun Wedding”, in which he was supposed to act alongside Jennifer Lopez.
Addressing his exit from the movie in light of the scandal, the 34-year-old father of two decried “the vicious and spurious online attacks” against him as he cited concern over his children as the reason why he exited the project. “I’m not responding to these b******* claims,” he said in a statement released on Wednesday, January 13.
“…but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” Armie added. On the studio’s reaction to his exit, he claimed, “Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.”

      See also…

Echoing Armie’s statement, a representative for the production said, “Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision.” Production on the romantic adventure film is set to begin immediately, but his role will now be recast.
This arrives after Armie’s alleged DMs leaked online, exposing his text messages to women which described graphic accounts of sex acts and cannibalism. “I am 100 per cent a cannibal. I want to eat you,” one message read. Another message alleged that the actor had cut “the heart out of an animal” and ate it. Other screenshots include alleged messages from the actor asking if he can drink people’s blood.
Armie was trending on Twitter following the leaked DMs, with his rumored former flame Jessica Ciencin Henriquez confirming that the leaked DMs are real. “If you are still questioning whether or not those Armie Hammer DMs are real (and they are) maybe you should start questioning why we live in a culture willing to give abusers the benefit of the doubt instead of victims,” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet, adding, “TW// sexual violence.”
