'Bachelorette' Recap: Tayshia Adams Cries After a Man Eliminates Himself Ahead of Fantasy Suites

    ABC

The said man gets candid to Tayshia in a new episode of the ABC dating competition show that he has come to a realization that he seemingly isn’t ready for a marriage for the second time.

    Dec 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelorette” returned for an all-new episode on Tuesday, December 21. In the new outing, Bachelorette Tayshia Adams took her relationships with the remaining men, Brendan Morais, Ivan Hall and Zac Clark, to the next level in the fantasy suites.
Tayshia had a great time with both Ivan and Clark. Ivan told her that he was “falling in love” with her, and Tayshia revealed that she felt the same. Things were even more serious when it came to Zac, who declared that he loved her. Thankfully, the feeling was mutual for him.
Meanwhile, it was such a disastrous date between Tayshia and Brendan. The two enjoyed the daytime portion of their date by taking a look at some Neil Lane diamonds and that apparently freaked Brendan out. Brendan, who has been married before, realized that he wasn’t fully ready to get married again.
“Looking at wedding and engagement rings and all these pieces of jewelry that symbolize a future commitment and a future decision that really would mean forever… it’s such a huge step and a scary step for me,” he said in confessional. “I’ve been here before. I’ve looked at rings before. But when I propose to someone for the second time, that person is going to be my wife for the rest of my life. An engagement ring means we’re going to be together forever and that means so much. But am I ready to give Tayshia that commitment of forever? Ummmm. I don’t know.”

His anxiety didn’t go unnoticed by Tayshia. “I am really interested in Brendan. He makes me really excited. But now, all of a sudden, it seems like there’s some type of disconnect. I just can’t read him,” she shared. “I just don’t know where he’s at. It’s kind of a weird feeling. I hope that there isn’t something wrong.”
Brendan then opened up about his feelings during the nighttime portion of the date. He told Tayshia that he initially thought he was ready to exchange vows again, but then he admitted that “there’s a big part of me that’s still broken. There’s a big part of me that still needs time to heal.”
“There’s a big part of me that still needs time to grow because I think there are pieces of myself I need to pick up. All I want to do is give you my whole heart, but as I sit here today, my heart isn’t whole. And it really breaks my heart because you deserve a man who is complete. You deserve a man who is healed from his past and unfortunately, I’m not that man,” he went on to explain.
Although Tayshia was understandably upset, she said she understood his decision. “Maybe a younger version of me would’ve been really pissed off at you, but at the same time, I know what you’ve gone through,” she said. “We’ve both been married before. And as much as I would love to be with you at the end of all this, if you’re not ready, that’s not something I’m going to push you to do. I’ve already fought for someone to try and love me once. I’m not going to do it again.”
It was only after Brendan left that Tayshia couldn’t hold back her tears. “I really thought I was going to end up with Brendan,” she said in confessional. “He’s the person, every single day, that I’ve been like…. it’s Brendan. Every single day.”

Canada's Entry for 2021 Oscars Gets Rejected

    Netflix

The Academy bosses have turned down ‘Funny Boy’, Canada’s submission for Best International Feature Film nomination, at the upcoming 93rd annual Academy Awards.

    Dec 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Academy Awards bosses have rejected Canada’s submission for Best International Feature Film because the movie features too much dialogue in English.
Canadian officials submitted Deepa Mehta’s “Funny Boy”, an adaptation of Shyam Selvadurai’s 1994 coming-of-age novel of the same name, for consideration in the category, previously known as Best Foreign Language Film, as both Tamil and Sinhalese are spoken throughout the picture, which was shot on location in Sri Lanka.
However, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) representatives have declared the movie is ineligible because they believe more than 50 per cent of the lines are in English.
A spokesperson for Telefilm Canada, the organisation which made the selection, is now submitting “Funny Boy” for a variety of other awards, including Best Picture, while they are awaiting feedback on the eligibility of their second choice for Best International Feature Film.

Director Mehta says, “We were surprised that the film was not able to compete in the Academy’s International Feature category, but then were equally surprised and more than thrilled that Telefilm decided to support the submission of the film for Best Picture and other categories at the Academy Awards.”
“My hope is for Funny Boy to continue to transcend expectations with its story of love, courage and compassion.”
Adds Christa Dickenson, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada, “Although we were disappointed when informed by the Academy, we are excited to extend our ongoing support for Funny Boy as the journey to the Oscars continue (sic).”
Nominations for the 93rd annual Oscars, which were delayed by two months due to the coronavirus pandemic, are expected to be announced in March, ahead of the ceremony on 25 April (21).

New Beatles Documentary Gets First Sneak Peek

    Walt Disney Pictures

Director Peter Jackson has given fans the first sneak peek of the upcoming movie ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ which is due to hit theaters in summer next year.

    Dec 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Peter Jackson has given fans a sneak preview of the upcoming Beatles film, “The Beatles: Get Back”.
The hotly-anticipated documentary, which features 56-hours of never-before-seen footage of the iconic Liverpool band, is set to hit cinemas 21 August, 2021. And ahead of its release, which was pushed back from this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the director has shared a five-minute taster of the movie, which will “take audiences back in time to The Beatles’ intimate recording sessions during a pivotal moment in music history.”
In the preview, Jackson explained that they are “halfway” through the editing process.
He said, “This film was due to be finished around about now but like the rest of the world it has been effected by the Covid pandemic. The only good thing really is that we are editing the movie in New Zealand and now that our country has largely stamped out the virus we were able to come back into the cutting room and carry on with the editing that we are doing.”
“So here we are, we’ve got 56 hours of never-before-seen Beatles footage and it’s really great stuff. And we are, I would say, halfway through the edit now.”
It then cut to footage of the late John Lennon and George Harrison and surviving members Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr in the studio.

Jackson said in a statement, “We wanted to give the fans of The Beatles all over the world a holiday treat, so we put together this five-minute sneak peek at our upcoming theatrical film The Beatles: Get Back. We hope it will bring a smile to everyone’s faces and some much-needed joy at this difficult time.”
The film follows the band’s recording of their final 1970 album, “Let It Be”, and McCartney, 78, recently admitted the upcoming flick “reaffirmed” for him that he wasn’t to blame for their split in April of that year.
Macca said this month, “It was so reaffirming for me. Because it proves that my main memory of the Beatles was the joy and the skill.”
“The proof is the footage. I bought into the dark side of the Beatles breaking up and thought, ‘Oh God, I’m to blame.’ I knew I wasn’t, but it’s easy when the climate is that way to start thinking so.”
“But at the back of my mind there was always this idea that it wasn’t like that, but I needed to see proof. There’s a great photo Linda (his late ex-wife) took, which is my favourite, of me and John working on a song, glowing with joy. This footage is the same. All four of us having a ball.”
Hailing “Lord of the Rings” filmmaker Jackson’s work on the flick, he added, “I love it, I must say because it’s how it was. It just reminds me of – even though we had arguments, like any family – we loved each other, you know, and it shows in the film.”
“It’s a very warm feeling, And it’s amazing just being backstage with these people, making this music that turned out to be good.”

'Silence of the Lambs' Sequel 'Banned' From Mentioning Hannibal Lecter

    CBS

The upcoming TV series titled ‘Clarice’ which will take place one year after the events of the ‘Silence of the Lambs’ has been blocked from mentioning the iconic fictional serial killer.

    Dec 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – CBS’ highly-anticipated “The Silence of the Lambs” sequel “Clarice” won’t mention killer Hannibal Lecter.
The show picks up just one year after the events of the iconic Thomas Harris novel and the movie of the same name but, according to executive producer Alex Kurtzman, they were “banned” from even mentioning the character, played by Anthony Hopkins.
He tells Entertainment Weekly the rights to all of the characters in Thomas Harris’ novels are split between MGM and The Dino De Laurentiis Company, which produced “The Silence of the Lambs”, meaning the show couldn’t obtain license to feature Lecter.
“I’m still trying to understand how the rights are divided. But it’s been quite liberating because we have no interest in writing about Hannibal – not because we didn’t love the films and the show, but because it was done so well by so many people that it didn’t feel fresh for us,” Kurtzman said.

While the first season won’t feature the title character on the hunt for a serial killer, he teases there will be “an entity that represents something that we deal with in our lives all the time.”
“It’s a more expanded, nuanced, complicated, and topical version of a serial killer,” Kurtzman added.
Series co-creator Jenny Lumet adds the show will also explore the “white gaze,” explaining, “There’s no ‘black best friend’ thing going on here, that would be intolerable to us.”
“We take a big bite into the relationship between a young black woman and a young white woman who are best friends, and have each other’s complete support, yet have never had the conversation about the differences in their lives – and Clarice has a lot of catching up to do.”
“Clarice”, starring Rebecca Breeds in the title role, debuts on 11 February (21) on CBS.

Chadwick Boseman Recorded Numerous Episodes of New Disney Series as Black Panther

    Walt Disney Pictures

Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirms the late T’Challa depicter is set to reprise his role as the comic book superhero in the upcoming new Disney show ‘What If…?’.

    Dec 22, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chadwick Boseman will posthumously make a number of appearances as his “Black Panther” character T’Challa in Disney’s “What If…?”.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige has revealed the late actor – who passed away in August aged 43 following a secret four-year battle with colon cancer – recorded “numerous episodes” of the Disney+ show, admitting his appearances are “very moving.”
He told Emmy Magazine, “(Boseman) came in about four times and recorded numerous episodes. In hindsight, it’s very moving.”
The late actor will play an animated version of his iconic character in the anthology series, which will see what would’ve occurred if major moments from the Marvel universe had happened differently. It is due to drop on the streaming service next year.

Other stars reprising roles include Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
Earlier this month (Dec20), Feige insisted the “immensely talented” Boseman will not be replaced as T’Challa in the upcoming “Black Panther” sequel because his performance in the first movie was so powerful.
He said, “I wanted to acknowledge the devastating loss of a dear friend and member of the Marvel Studios family. Chadwick Boseman was an immensely talented actor and an inspirational individual who affected all of our lives professionally and personally.”
“His portrayal of T’Challa the Black Panther is iconic and transcends iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past. And it’s for that reason that we will not recast the character.”
“Black Panther 2” will be released on 8 July, 2022, and, like the original, will be co-written and directed by Ryan Coogler.

Marvel May Pass the Baton to M'Baku in 'Black Panther' Sequel

    Marvel Studios

The studio, which has been actively working on the sequel following the sudden passing of Chadwick Boseman, is reportedly considering to make the Jabari Tribe’s leader the new Black Panther.

    Dec 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – The shift of power in Wakanda is still one of the hot topics among MCU fans following the untimely passing of “Black Panther” lead star Chadwick Boseman. According to the latest report, Marvel is now considering to pass the torch to M’Baku (Winston Duke) in the upcoming sequel.
Twitter influencer and writer Daniel Richtman was allegedly the first to come up with the news of M’Baku potentially becoming the new central figure in “Black Panther 2”. Richtman said, per We Got This Covered, “Marvel thinking of making M’Baku Black Panther now.”
Prior to this, there were rambling rumors that T’Challa’s sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) was to have a more prominent role in the upcoming feature, with many assuming she’s the best option to become the new protector of Wakanda. However, Marvel may have had a change of heart as Richtman allegedly noted, “Shuri may not get it anymore or it could be both of them for this one movie or one or the other, they are undecided.”

It’s unclear why Marvel starts considering to make M’Baku as the new Black Panther, but this arrives after Wright came under fire due to her anti-vaccine stance. Earlier this month, the actress posted a controversial video from the On The Table channel, in which host Tomi Arayomi cast doubt on the COVID-19 treatment.
She initially defended her decision to post the YouTube clip, responding to the backlash, “if you don’t conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself … you get cancelled.” She later clarified, “My intention was not to hurt anyone, my ONLY intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies. Nothing else.”
Despite her explanation, Wright continued to receive a storm of criticism, including from her own Marvel co-star Don Cheadle, who blasted the video’s message as “hot garbage.” The actress later deleted the video in question before deactivating her social media accounts after landing in hot water.
