Wendy Williams Takes Hiatus from Show in the Wake of Her Mom's Death

    WENN

The TV host confirmed the heartbreaking news of her mom Shirley Skinner Williams’ death in the Monday, December 7 episode of her talk show, revealing that her ‘mom passed away many, many, many, many weeks ago.’

    Dec 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Wendy Williams is pausing production on “The Wendy Williams Show” following the death of her mom, Shirley Skinner Williams. The hiatus was announced by Debmar-Mercury, the production company behind her talk show, on Friday, December 11.
“Next week, ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ will air repeats to allow Wendy to travel and be with her family at this time,” a spokesperson for the company announced in a statement. “The show will return with original episodes on Monday, January 4th. Debmar-Mercury extends its deepest condolences to Wendy and her family.”

Reports about the death of her mother started emerged online earlier this month as family friend Courtney Brown wrote in a now-deleted post, “One of my granny’s best friends for 83 years passed away…Mrs. Shirley Williams. Always available for my granny and our family, she flew in to share this beautiful speech at granny’s 100th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Williams is truly what the kids now call #CoupleGoals.”
Wendy only confirmed the heartbreaking news in the Monday, December 7 episode of her talk show. “My mom passed away many, many, many, many weeks ago,” the 56-year-old TV host shared while trying to hold back tears, “She passed away beautifully and peacefully and surrounded by love. She didn’t suffer, not one bit, thank goodness.”
“Our relationship was like that of two teenage girls. If I could pick an age, 17… My relationship with my mother, right up until the end, was so girly and so ridiculously giggly,” she went on reminiscing her memory with her late mom.
However, Wendy’s brother appeared to dispute her claim about their mother’s death. Instead of “many, many, many, many weeks ago,” Thomas Williams said that his “mom passed away last Sunday (December 6).” He said on Instagram Live, “It’s a family thing. We’ve been moving through. Now you can see what Wendy has been going through. It’s life. She may be a celebrity. She may be on stage. She’s a child of somebody’s as well. She’s a sister. She’s an aunt. She’s a mother. And it’s all laid out on stage.”

Ray Fisher Reacts After 'Justice League' Investigation Concludes With 'Remedial Action' Taken

    Instagram

The Cyborg depicter relays a message from Warner Media addressing the conclusion of its investigation into the actor’s allegations of abusive behavior against director Joss Whedon.

    Dec 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ray Fisher has scored a victory following months-long back and forth between him and Joss Whedon regarding his allegations of toxic work environment on the set of “Justice League”. Warner Bros. launched an investigation into the actor’s claims and on Friday, December 11, it announced that it has concluded the investigation.
“WarnerMedia’s investigation into the Justice League movie has concluded and remedial action has been taken,” the studio said in a statement, while remaining tight-lipped on the findings and the repercussion to those involved in the allegations. Fisher, however, believed that Whedon’s recent exit from HBO’s “The Nevers” had something to do with the investigation.
Meanwhile, Fisher seemed to be rather pleased with the results. Relaying a message he received from Warner Media, he tweeted, “The following was relayed to me on behalf of @WarnerMedia at 5pm EST today: – The investigation of Justice League is now complete.”
“It has lead to remedial action (Some we’ve seen, and some that is still to come),” read the second point. “And this statement (which truly belongs to ALL who participated in the investigation): ‘WarnerMedia appreciates you having the courage to come forward and assist the company with creating an inclusive and equitable work environment for it’s employees and partners.’ ”

Regardless the conclusion of the investigation, the Cyborg depicter said, “There are still conversations that need to be had and resolutions that need to be found.” He expressed his gratitude to those who have been supporting him as writing, “Thank you all for your support and encouragement on this journey,” before concluding with, “We are on our way. More soon.”

Ray Fisher reacted to end of ‘Justice League’ investigation.
Fisher first came with the allegations against Whedon, who took over the directing role from Zack Snyder during the pre-production of “Justice League”, in July. In an interview with Forbes, he claimed to have heard “blatantly racist conversations” among studio executives. He also complained about “massive blowups, threats, coercion, taunting, unsafe work conditions, belittling, and gaslighting like you wouldn’t believe” on the set.
Jason Momoa, Fisher’s co-star in the 2017 movie, publicly supported the 33-year-old actor and demanded proper investigation into Fisher’s claims. “THIS S**T HAS TO STOP AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT @ray8fisher AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO EXPERIENCED WHAT HAPPEN UNDER THE WATCH OF @wbpictures NEEDS PROPER INVESTIGATION,” he tweeted in September, before confirming Fisher’s claims about “the s**tty way we were treated on Justice League reshoots.”

Chris Evans tweeted about his Buzz Lightyear role.
Evans also shared his excitement about scoring the voice role on his Instagram page. Along with a picture of the character, he wrote, “Working with Pixar is a dream come true. Assuring that he isn’t replacing Tim Allen, who originated the character in the “Toy Story” movies, he continued, “I didn’t know what that meant, since Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear, and no one could ever touch his performance. I needed to know how this character was different and why this story was worth telling. I can say 2 things with absolute confidence: 1.. I didn’t stop smiling through the ENTIRE pitch. Ear to ear. 2. Everyone can rest easy. And get very excited.”
The 39-year-old hunk went on telling fans, “Trust me when I say that they REALLY know what they’re doing over there. This one is gonna special, and it doesn’t step on a single thing. I can’t even put my excitement into words. I smile every time I think about it. #LIGHTYEAR.”

Disney broke the news about “Lightyear” during its Investor Day 2020 on Thursday. The studio announced that the new movie is slated to hit theaters on June 17, 2022. Other details, including who will be directing and is writing the script, are currently not available.

Kelly Clarkson Limping With Injured Knee as She Opens Her Show After Taking a Tumble in High Heels

    Instagram

The ‘American Idol’ champion has injured one of her knees after stumbling backstage in her high heels just before taping her talk show ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’.

    Dec 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – Pop star Kelly Clarkson will be limping her way through the holidays after injuring her knee while running in high heels.
The “Stronger” hitmaker was behind schedule to start taping Friday’s (11Dec20) episode of her U.S. daytime series, “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, when she stumbled awkwardly backstage.
The singer decided the show must go on and hobbled her way to the stage to open the programme, but had to take a seat in an armchair as she welcomed viewers to her first festive episode.

Explaining the need for comfy furniture, she said, “Well, this is our first holiday show… and I was real excited about it and we were running late, and I don’t like to be late, so I was running in my heel, which was a bad decision because apparently I turned a corner and possibly did something to my ACL (anterior cruciate ligament).”
“So, 2020 – just the gift that keeps on giving…!” quipped Kelly, who is also going through a nasty divorce from estranged husband Brandon Blackstock. “I’m just gonna sit in this chair… with my leg elevated.”
“I’ve now had the (eye) patch, because I had an eye situation, now I have a knee situation…,” she continued, referring to the eye covering she had to wear in September after suffering an infection.
Kelly went on to admit she’s always been a clumsy person, so much so she was given an award for “Crisis of the Day” when she was a schoolkid.
“I don’t know why it happens, but stuff happens,” she shared, before admitting she should have known better this time around to avoid “looking like a fool on television.” “Well, I was running in heels and turned a corner, like I’m some kind of athletic person that can do that, and it didn’t go well!”

'Dune' Director Furious at Warner Bros. Over Decision to Release Movie on HBO Max

    Legendary Entertainment/Chiabella James

Denis Villeneuve has publicly called out the movie studio for their decision to release his movie on the streaming service on the same day it hits theaters.

    Dec 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Dune” director Denis Villeneuve has penned an op-ed slamming Warner Bros. for their decision to release his movie on HBO Max, as part of a huge new deal with the streaming platform.
The Oscar-nominated director opened up about his feelings surrounding the move in the piece for Variety, as he also revealed that he found out about the deal by reading about it in the news – just like everyone else.
“I learned in the news that Warner Bros. has decided to release Dune on HBO Max at the same time as our theatrical release, using prominent images from our movie to promote their streaming service,” he wrote. “With this decision AT&T has hijacked one of the most respectable and important studios in film history. There is absolutely no love for cinema, nor for the audience here.”
“Warner Bros.’ sudden reversal from being a legacy home for filmmakers to the new era of complete disregard draws a clear line for me. Filmmaking is a collaboration, reliant on the mutual trust of team work and Warner Bros. has declared they are no longer on the same team.”

Calling Dune “by far the best movie” he’s ever made, Villeneuve added that Warner Bros. “might just have killed the Dune franchise” with their decision.
Villeneuve’s op-ed comes after it was reported that Legendary Entertainment, the production company behind “Dune”, is considering filing a lawsuit against Warner Bros. over the studio’s new release plans.
“(They’re) hoping to first negotiate a more generous deal, but isn’t taking legal action off the table should the two companies fail to come to a compromise,” a source told Variety.
Legendary Entertainment also produced “Godzilla vs. Kong” – another movie which Warner Bros. is planning to release on HBO Max on the same day it hits theatres.

'RHOC' Star Braunwyn Windham-Burke Details Physical Altercations With Husband Sean

    Instagram

The ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ star admitted in the Wednesday night, December 9 episode of the Bravo reality show that she has hit her husband multiple times during physical altercations.

    Dec 11, 2020
AceShowbiz – Braunwyn Windham-Burke has opened up about the lowest points of her marriage to husband Sean Burke. “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star admitted in the Wednesday night, December 9 episode of the Bravo reality show that she has hit her husband multiple times during physical altercations.
“I just, I lost it. I lost my temper again with Sean belittling me over the vacuum cleaner,” the 43-year-old shared in self-filmed footage in which she struggled to get the charger for the appliance to work. “Instead of being like, ‘Yeah, I’ll help you’ — ’cause he’s still going to the office. He’s still working. He’s still getting out of the house.”
“Instead of helping, he made fun of me and I lost it and I smacked him,” Braunwyn continued. “I haven’t done that since we were in Aspen.”

      See also…

Apparently, that’s not the first time for the Bravo personality to get physical with her husband. “I have hit Sean a couple of times in my life. Nothing though like what happened in Aspen,” she said while a video taken from their time in Colorado was played. Recalling the moment, she went on to say, “I hit him across the face and I hit him hard. I wanted to go drink. I was angry and I was lashing out and Curren saw it,” referring to their 7-year-old child.
Prior to this, Braunwyn came out as lesbian in an interview with GLAAD. “I like women. I’m gay. I’m a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. I’m a lesbian,” she first spilled. “It has taken me 42 years to say that but I am so proud of where I am right now. I’m so happy where I am. To be able to be comfortable in my own skin after so long is just so nice.”
Sean showed his full support for his wife by posting a throwback photo of them. He simply declared, “I love you. I’m proud of you. And I support you. Always. @braunwynwindhamburke.” Hours later, the reality TV star debuted her girlfriend on Instagram. In a snap, she could be seen resting her chin on her partner’s shoulder.
