    AceShowbiz – Dame Maggie Smith is set to star in the film version of her one-woman show about Nazi Joseph Goebbels’ secretary, Brunhilde Pomsel.
    Developed by screenwriter-playwright Christopher Hampton, who was awarded an Oscar for the screen adaptation of “Dangerous Liaisons”, Smith previously played the role in “A German Life” at The Bridge Theatre in London’s West End.
    The project will be opera director Jonathan Kent’s movie debut.

    “A German Life” is based on a series of interviews that Pomsel gave when she was 103. The screen version came about due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, which has closed theatres throughout the world.
    “What with COVID, Maggie decided that she didn’t really want to go back and do it again on stage, which was a great shame because it meant that an enormous number of people hadn’t seen it and her great performance,” Hampton told Variety.
    He adds, “What I’ve been doing is writing it as a screenplay about this woman in her retirement home in 2013 talking about her life. The film script was more difficult to write than the stage play. Sometimes she looks out the window and sees characters, but otherwise, it’s all just her through the course of the day talking about her memories.”
    Additionally, Hampton shared that he finished his long-gestating stage play about Jimmie Lee Jackson, the African-American civil rights activist and a deacon in the Baptist church in Alabama. “The death of Jimmie Lee Jackson led to the Selma to Montgomery marches. In 2010, the policeman was finally tried and sentenced to six months in jail. I’ve been working on this on-and-off for some time. I went to Alabama four or five years ago, while the guy who killed Jackson was still alive. Finally, after doing all this research, I wrote it this summer, and it turned out to be sort of unpleasantly relevant [with the Black Lives Matter demonstrations],” he said.

    The cast member of the long-running Bravo reality TV star has opened up in a new interview about days leading up to the filming shut down of season 11 of the reality TV show.

    AceShowbiz – Earlier this month, it was reported that Bravo halted the production of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 11 due to COVID-19 concern. Now, cast member Garcelle Beauvais has opened up in a new interview about days leading up to the filming shut down.
    “We shot for Housewives on Tuesday, Tuesday night we got home and found out that a few people in our crew tested positive for COVID,” Garcelle shares in a preview, which is obtained by Entertainment Tonight, for an upcoming episode of “The Real”. Following the announcement, she adds that her castmates all have to quarantine for 14 days. Her 13-year-old twin sons, Jaid and Jax, are temporarily staying with their father Mike Nilon.
    Saying that the cast and crew always “do all the protocols,” Garcelle continues, “We get tested at least three times a week. We get tested before we shoot. You know, my kids get tested, I get tested, anybody who’s in my household, and you know, we did the right things, but at the same time, it just shows you that this virus — you can touch something, you can… you know, it’s not necessarily just from people.”
    The Bravo personality, who is also one of the co-host on “The Real”, adds, “Hopefully everybody will be healthy, and we’re down for a few weeks, but then we’ll be back to work. But luckily for me, we do ‘The Real’ from home, so I can still do this job, which I’m thankful for.”

    Garcelle goes on sharing that she has no symptomps and has been taking multiple coronavirus tests which all come back negative.
    Back in November, a source claimed that “the ladies and production were informed this morning” about the filming being halted. The cast members, including Lisa Rinna, Erika Girardi, Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley, reportedly last filmed for the upcoming season on Tuesday, November 24. “They filmed yesterday. Everyone’s been told to quarantine for 14 days and haven’t been told much else right now,” the source explained. “They have no idea when they’ll start up again. Everyone’s just waiting for more info.”
    This arrives after it was rumored that Garcelle decided to leave the reality TV show following a salary dispute. A source close to the production claimed in October that she wasn’t satisfied with her current pay. “Garcelle wanted a big raise to be on the show. She didn’t get one, and so she’s walking,” the insider claimed. “It’s not worth it to her.”
    The source also added that Bravo was planning to get Tori Spelling on the show to replace Garcelle, who joins the show in season 10. The insider, however, noted that the “BH90210” star wouldn’t be a full-time cast member, adding that she’s set to “join the exciting next season in a ‘friend of’ role.”

    AceShowbiz – Christmas is coming earlier on ABC with “Disney Holiday Singalong”, which aired on Monday, November 30. A slew of celebrities, including Katy Perry and BTS (Bangtan Boys), appeared on the show to offer stunning performances to celebrate the festivity.
    Katy went all-out to bring the fun as she dressed up as a Christmas tree while belting out “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Cozy Little Christmas”. The 36-year-old new mom kicked off her performance by singing “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. Donning the huge costume, she was also seen riding on the top of a car during the performance.
    Later for her performance of “Cozy Little Christmas”, the “Smile” hitmaker was seen standing in a living room. Her Christmas tree costume was suddenly filled with pretty ornaments. While this wasn’t Katy’s first time performing on the “Disney Family Singalong”, this year marked her first sing along performance after welcoming baby daughter Daisy Bloom, whom she shares with fiance Orlando Bloom.

    Also among the performers on the show was BTS. The South Korean group entertained fans by singing “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”. The “Dynamite” hitmaker, who consists of Jin, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook, gathered in a cozy-looking living room. Unfortunately, Suga was absent due to a recent shoulder surgery.

    Some celebrities also brought along their kids in their performances on the show, which was hosted by a bearded Ryan Seacrest. Joining Michael Buble’s performance of “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” were his three young children, Noah, Vida and Elias, who were dancing in red holiday outfits.

    Ciara’s son Future Jr., whom she shares with ex Future, and her kids with husband Russell Wilson also stole the show from their famous parent during their performance of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. They had a blast in a pink-themed Christmas set-up.

    AceShowbiz – “Saved by the Bell” reboot has made adjustment following backlash over scenes featuring references to Selena Gomez’s kidney transplant. In response to fans outrage, Peacock has now decided to remove the said scenes, PEOPLE confirms.
    One of the scenes on the reboot saw two students at Bayside High arguing over whether the singer transplant donor was her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber’s mom or singer Demi Lovato. Meanwhile, another scene featured someone writing on the walls in the school’s hallway, “Does Selena Gomez even have a kidney?”
    Fans of Selena, who are also known as Selenators, put the show on blast on Saturday, November 28 in addition to trending “RESPECT SELENA GOMEZ” on Twitter, demanding an apology from the show and network. “You have no professional ethics. You should be ashamed to air a show where a person is mocked for their serious illness,” one of them wrote. “It is not only offensive to Selena Gomez, but to all those who have had to go through a process as difficult as that.”

    Following the backlash, Peacock, NBCUniversal and the show’s executive producers released a joint statement in which they expressed remorse over the insensitive scenes. “We apologize. It was never our intention to make light of Selena’s health. We have been in touch with her team and will be making a donation to her charity, The Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research at USC,” the statement read.
    Francia Raisa, Selena’s close friend as well as her kidney donor, reacted to the apology. Writing on Twitter on Saturday, the “Grown-ish” star wrote, “Appreciate the apology but let’s not forget about the donors that potentially felt offended and dismissed from the spray paint written on the wall.”
    “As a kidney donor I want to show love and let other donors know that you are not alone. You are seen. You are appreciated. You are so brave and your selfless act is very much appreciated and valued!” she went on saying.
    Selena underwent a kidney transplant due to her lupus diagnosis back in 2017. “My kidneys were just done,” she explained at the time. “That was it, and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life. The thought of asking someone to do that was really difficult for me. She volunteered and did it. And let alone someone wanting to volunteer, it is incredibly difficult to find a match. The fact that she was a match, I mean that’s unbelievable. That’s not real.”

    Taika Waititi has got fans hopeful that he will bring back Idris Elba’s fan-favorite character Heimdall in the upcoming fourth movie after they’re hanging out together in New Zealand.

    AceShowbiz – Taika Waititi may have dropped a hint about a possible resurrection in “Thor: Love and Thunder”. The director’s new photos have sparked a speculation that the upcoming movie would feature a fan-favorite character, who has been presumed dead.
    On Sunday, November 29, the Kiwi filmmaker shared on his Instagram account pictures of him hanging out with New Zealand’s legendary All-Blacks rugby team. What’s interesting was that he was seen being joined by Idris Elba during the fun outing.
    “Me and @idriselba visited the @allblacks last week and I think we can all agree that’s what inspired last night’s win,” Waititi captioned the snaps. “Caught up with the uso @ardiesavea while Drisco tried to steal the Bleddy.”

    While the post and images have nothing to do with “Love and Thunder”, many can’t help talking about why Elba was in New Zealand. In this current situation of an ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, one likely won’t travel hundreds of miles away just to catch a rugby game.
    Thus, it’s possible that the actor, who has played Heimdall in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, may have flown to the country to join the production of the fourth Thor movie. His character, however, is believed to have died after being killed off by Thanos in the opening sequence of “Avengers: Infinity War”, so it remains to be seen if and how Waititi will bring him back to life in “Love and Thunder”.
    Elba himself didn’t rule out his character’s return, previously suggesting that Heimdall possesses god’s gift of immortality. “Listen, Heimdall is essentially part of the god family. So you know, he essentially could be alive. I’m just saying! I’m just putting it out there,” he claimed, before explaining, “The Heimdall character goes way back into, you know, the Thor mythology. And I’m sure there will be an interesting way to bring that alive. Of course I would [return]. Yes.”
    While Elba’s return has not been confirmed, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson have been set to reprise their respective roles in “Thor: Love and Thunder”.

    The Oscar winner met with Netflix bosses after deciding to direct and star in the new movie and quizzed them about the technology Martin Scorsese used to make Robert De Niro and others look younger in “The Irishman”, but eventually decided it would become too much of a talking point if he took years off himself.
    ” ‘The Irishman’ used it and had not come out yet,” Clooney tells Deadline. “They (Netflix bosses) showed it to me and I thought, ‘That’ll just become a topic then that people will talk about.’ I didn’t know how people would react to it at the time.     AceShowbiz – Miles Teller’s wife is a big fan of the “Whiplash” star’s “Top Gun” sequel, insisting it’s the best film she has ever seen.
    Model Keleigh Sperry, who is a big fan of the 1986 original, jumped at the chance to see her man as Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw in a screening for “Top Gun: Maverick” – and she loved it.
    Her husband tells Men’s Journal Sperry was particularly taken by his character – the son of the original film’s Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw, played by Anthony Edwards.
    “Playing Goose’s kid and getting to continue that storyline that was established in such a powerful way all those years ago, there is a lot of history there,” Miles says. “I think when audiences realise the character I play is that tiny kid they saw in the original, it is going to hit.”

    “I was able to see it a couple of weeks ago. The movie just blew me away, and my wife said, ‘That might be the best film I have ever seen.’ She was crying multiple times.”
    Teller hopes all the effort he put in to the film pays off at the box office, revealing, “There is no green screen in a ‘Top Gun’ movie. Every shot, every stunt, was the result of the work, the real sweat, that we all put into it. The production was over the course of a full year, which was definitely the longest shoot I have ever been part of.”
    “I had about three months of flight training before starting the movie. That time was important to get comfortable with the crafts but also to build up our G-force tolerance, because all of the aerial elements were shot practically.”
    The film’s release has been pushed back to July 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

    AceShowbiz – “The Voice” season 19 returned with a new episode on Monday, November 30. In the new outing, the winner of the Four-Way Knockouts was revealed before the show moved onto the next round, which was Live Playoffs.
    Ryan Gallagher, Julia Cooper, Larriah Jackson and Taryn Papa previously hit the stage to win one last spot in Top 18, but only one would get the spot. As Ryan from Team Kelly Clarkson withdrew from the competition, the spot went to either Julia, Larriah or Taryn. It was later announced that Taryn from Team Blake Shelton came out as the winner of the Four-Way Knockouts, while the other two were eliminated.
    It was then time for Live Playoffs which was kicked off by Desz (Team Kelly). She hit the stage to sing Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do With It”. John Legend was impressed as he called her performance “soulful” and “intentional.” Coach Kelly also gushed over Dezs, saying that she had the voice of a “broken angel.”
    Following it up was Madeline Consoer, who was also on Team Kelly. She opted for “What If I Never Get Over You” for the first night of Live Shows. Blake loved her song choice and enjoyed her performance, while Kelly urged America to vote for Madeline. Tanner Gomes, meanwhile, belted out “Lovin’ On You”. Unfortunatelty, it seemed like his mic was turned down as his voice was barely heard. Despite that, Kelly said that he had great instincts and that it was such an enjoyable performance.
    Rounding out performances from team Kelly was Cami Clune. She offered a captivating performance of “Never Tear Us Apart”. Kelly loved it, calling it “cool, sexy and thrilling to watch.”

    As for Team Gwen Stefani, Payge Turner kicked things off with a performance of NSYNC’s “It’s Gonna Be Me” as she played guitar. Gwen said that it was a “dope” interpretation of the song. Later, Ben Allen took the stage to perform an emotional take on “There Goes My Life”. It was such an epic performance that the coaches gave him a standing ovation at the end of his performance.
    Joseph Soul followed it up with a performance of “How Deep Is Your Love” in which he showcased his smooth and warm voice. Gwen raved about the “crazy” performance. Carter Rubin then hit the stage to belt out Mariah Carey’s hit “Hero” and it was yet another perfect performance from Team Gwen.
    Jim Ranger from Team Blake then performed Lee Bice’s hit “Rumor”. The performance convinced Blake that Jim was “unbelievably talented” and that he would most likely be in the finale. Worth the Wait, meanwhile, sang Judds’ “Love Is Alive”. Blake was totally impressed, saying that it was their best performance of the season.
    Singing “Make You Feel My Love” was Ian Flanigan. Flaunting his cool tone, he delivered a stunning performance. Rounding out performance from Team Blake were Taryn, who opted to sing “I Hope Your Happy Now”, and Sid Kingsley, who sang “Beyond”.
    Team John Legend’s Tamara Jade then hit the stage to sing “Crazy” which perfectly described her performance that night. John even called her a superstar. Later, Chloe Hogan performed “My Future”, highlighting her jazzy vocals. Following it up was Bailey Rae, who sang “Sweet Music Man” by Kenny Roger. John praised her, saying that she belonged on this stage.
    Concluding the Live Playoffs was John Holiday. He performed “Fly Me to the Moon” that fit his jazzy voice. John loved it and believed that America would keep him on the competition.
