    'Stranger Things' Adds 'Nightmare on Elm Street' Star Robert Englund for Season 4

    The actor well known for playing the onscreen serial killer Freddy Krueger has been tapped to join the cast ensemble of the Netflix hit series for the upcoming installment.

    AceShowbiz – “Stranger Things” producers are stepping up the horror factor on the hit show by casting “A Nightmare on Elm Street” star Robert Englund in the upcoming fourth season.
    The horror icon, famed for bringing Freddy Krueger to life onscreen, will play Victor Creel, a psychiatric patient imprisoned for a gruesome murder in the 1950s.
    He joins “Harry Potter” actor Jamie Campbell Bower, “Booksmart” ‘s Eduardo Franco, and Joseph Quinn from “Catherine the Great” as newcomers for season four, which is currently in production following a delay due to the coronavirus shutdown.
    Others added to the cast are “Game of Thrones” actor Tom Wlaschiha, “Bosch” ‘s Mason Dye, Sherman Augustus from “Into the Badlands”, and Nikola Djuricko from “Genius”.

    “Stranger Things”, created and executive produced by The Duffer Brothers, stars David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, and Finn Wolfhard. A premiere date for the new season has yet to be announced.
    “Stranger Things” is not the only project scrambling to adjust their production amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Others include movies “The Batman” as well as TV shows like “Riverdale”, “Batwoman”, “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”, “Supergirl”, and “Chicago Med”.
    Film and TV industries have been struggling to adapt to post-coronavirus world since lockdown was first imposed earlier this year. Many projects were either pushed back or called off as the industry was brought to a standstill due to the worldwide pandemic.
    Broadway is dealing with the same issues. There were 24 shows open and running on Broadway before the shutdown. Five more were in previews and three – “Frozen”, “Hangmen”, and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” – have already announced they will not return.

    AceShowbiz – “The Crown” star Emma Corrin secretly battled whooping cough while filming the royal drama series.
    The actress tells Interview magazine she was only able to recover from her bout of illness after a trip abroad to film her final scene was cancelled earlier this year (20).
    Whooping cough is a bacterial infection of the lungs and breathing tubes, with symptoms including bouts of coughing and gasping for breath. While it can be most dangerous in babies and children, adults can still suffer nosebleeds and sore ribs and may be treated with antibiotics.
    The revelation comes after Emma, who also suffers from asthma, shared that she was rushed to hospital while filming the Netflix show in Spain due to “low oxygen levels” after recording a swimming pool scene.

    “I’m asthmatic and had been ill for a while with a cough,” she previously told Glamour U.K. “I had to film a scene in a freezing cold swimming pool. It was the hardest scene to film because I was genuinely keeping myself alive treading water.
    “We were meant to be flying back that night to the U.K. and went past a hospital to get antibiotics. The doctors gave me an oxygen test and said, ‘We can’t let you go because your oxygen levels are so low’, so I was hospitalised.”
    Season four of “The Crown”, which also stars Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher and Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, is streaming now.
    Emma Corrin was added to the cast ensemble to play Princess Diana in the new season.

    AceShowbiz – Rapper and new mum Nicki Minaj is preparing to lift the curtain on her life on and off the stage for a new docu-series.
    The “Anaconda” hitmaker, real name Onika Maraj, will share her story in six 30-minute episodes directed by Michael John Warren, the man behind her two previous TV documentaries, 2010’s “My Time Now” and “My Time Again” in 2015.
    According to producers, the as-yet-untitled series “will explore Nicki’s brilliantly creative mind and tell the story of her personal and professional journey” and will air on U.S. streaming service HBO Max.
    “It’s going to give you guys a raw unfiltered look at my personal life and my professional journey and I can’t wait to share it with you,” Minaj announced on social media on Friday (20Nov20), as she celebrated the 10-year anniversary of her debut album “Pink Friday”.

    And Warren insists the project will be one not to miss for devotees of Minaj, who welcomed a son with husband Kenneth Petty in late September.
    In a statement, he adds, “I love that this series not only provides an all-access glimpse at one of the most iconic musicians of our generation; it also profiles the brave woman behind the artist, Onika.”
    “I believe all of us can learn a great deal from her remarkable professional and personal life. It’s an honour to be entrusted with this dynamic story.”
    A launch date has yet to be released.

    AceShowbiz – A male contestant on the rebooted U.S. game show “Wipeout” has died after tackling the TV obstacle course.
    The unidentified participant, who had to pass a medical examination before appearing on air, managed to complete the extreme activities on Wednesday (18Nov20), but needed emergency medical attention after crossing the finish line.
    According to TMZ, he was treated for chest pains by on-set paramedics, and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
    A spokesperson for TV network TBS, on which the revamped reality show is set to air next year (21), told the New York Post, “We are devastated to have learned of his passing, and our deepest sympathy goes out to the family.”
    And producers at Endemol Shine North America added to TMZ, “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family and our thoughts are with them at this time.”

    The new series, co-hosted by wrestler-turned-actor John Cena, comedian Nicole Byer, and model Camille Kostek, is a reboot of the original Wipeout, which previously aired from 2008 to 2014.
    It’s not the first time a “Wipeout” contestant experienced health issues and later died after competing on the show.
    Back in 2009, a contestant complained of knee pain when participating in the first segment of an obstacle course. Producers had him stop and took him to a local hospital before being moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and undergoing several brain surgeries.
    The contestant eventually died of a stroke, apparently caused by a rare condition known as antiphospholipid antibody syndrome or APS, two weeks after taking part on the show.
    While the “Wipeout” contestant underwent medical examinations before he was cleared for the show, the diagnosis of APS required specialized blood tests.

    AceShowbiz – Sia has hit back at critics who have slammed her for not casting an autistic actress as a lead character with the condition in her new movie, “Music”.
    The trailer for her directorial debut dropped on Thursday (19Nov20), with her protege, dancer Maddie Ziegler, 18, taking the main role as a teenager with special needs, with Kate Hudson and Leslie Odom Jr. also joining the cast.
    Sia’s casting decisions drew criticism from disability activists and autistic creatives – but the star hit back by claiming she had cast “neuroatypical” actors in the film and had done her research.
    “I cast thirteen neuroatypical people, three trans folk, and not as f**king prostitutes or drug addicts but as doctors, nurses and singers. F**king sad nobody’s even seen the dang movie. My heart has always been in the right place,” she tweeted. When asked, “Did you do any research or consult the community at all? It’s very condescending to say it would be cruel to consult a disabled actor,” she responded, “Duh. I spent three f**king years researching, I think that’s why I’m so f**king bummed.”

    The musician later tweeted, “Grrrrrrrrrr. F**kity f**k why don’t you watch my film before you judge it? FURY.”
    Sara Gibbs, a British comedy writer with autism, a developmental condition that leads to anxiety in social situations, difficulty in communication, and atypical behaviour, explained why she was worried about the film on the social media site.
    “Every time a non-autistic person makes a project about us for art, it sets us back in numerous ways,” she wrote. “The first is obvious – that it inevitably, no matter how hard it tries, mistranslates the experience of being autistic. This is harmful to us because it puts disinformation out into the world.”
    She, like other social media users, also criticised the “Chandelier” hitmaker for taking on a project that would block autistic creatives from realising theirs, and for working with Autism Speaks, a U.S. charity many people with the disorder reject as harmful.

    The Muslim actor agreed to star in director David Fincher’s 2008 fantasy romance on the condition he would not have to simulate intercourse in a scene featured in the original script.
    “So my old agent called me and said, ‘Mahershala, you got the part.’ And I said, ‘There’s just one thing… There is that one sex scene where they kiss… If there’s a sex scene, I can’t do it,'” he recalled during an appearance on rapper Common’s “Mind Power Mixtape” podcast. “I don’t do simulated sex.”

    And the two-time Oscar-winner Mahershala didn’t dare take things beyond a certain point when the time came to film the sexy scene with Taraji during the shoot.
    “(In the final shoot) Taraji and I begin to kiss, and we fall out of the frame… It wasn’t clear if (Fincher) was trying to have like some bumping and grinding… which I doubt he was. But for me even… at that time, 15 years ago, I was still like, ‘OK, I can only go up to this point,’ just because of – just trying to hold a space of respect for my religion.”
    The movie was fronted by Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. It was also supported by the likes of Julia Ormond, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas, and Tilda Swinton. It received 13 nominations at the Academy Awards and won three for Best Art Direction, Best Makeup, and Best Visual Effects.

    AceShowbiz – Jensen Ackles “struggled” with the ending of his hit show “Supernatural” when he first read it, so understands where disgruntled viewers are coming from.
    The U.S. TV programme came to an end after 15 seasons on Thursday night (19Nov20), [SPOILER ALERT!] with Jensen’s character Dean dying as he got impaled on a piece of steel while fighting a group of vampires.
    During a chat with Entertainment Weekly, Jensen revealed he and co-star Jared Padalecki, who stars as Dean’s brother Sam in the show, learned of their characters’ fate when they visited the writers room ahead of starting production on season 15.
    “Yeah, so, during the hiatus between season 14 and 15, Jared and I went out to LA and sat down in the writers room, which I think is the first time we’ve ever done that,” he said. “It wasn’t like a brainstorming session. It was like, this is what we have, take it or leave it. And I just walked out of there kind of uneasy. I don’t know if it was just the fact that I just heard the ending of a show that had been going for 15 years and I’m just too close to it to really accept a finality to it.”
    “It certainly wasn’t settling in as easy as I kind of hoped. I struggled with it.”

    But a conversation with series creator Eric Kripke helped Jensen come to terms with the ending.
    “He just kind of put things in a perspective that really helped me kind of identify why I was having trouble with it,” he mused. “But also why it was a really great idea for an ending. And so from then on, I was kind of all in.”
    The ending caused huge shockwaves from viewers on social media, many of whom expressed their outrage after a character who had survived so much in the 15 seasons was killed in the final episode.
    “The writers are going to HELL for this! #Supernatural,” one person wrote, while another added, “jensen was so right for hating this episode we should’ve listened #supernatural.”
    A third commented, “idk wtf is going on in supernatural rn but it rlly shouldve ended at season 5 (sic).”

    GaGa previously revealed that she has been in love with acting. “I couldn’t make it as an actress, I was bad at auditioning,” the “Bad Romance” hitmaker shared at the “A Star Is Born” premiere in 2018. “I never got a job.”
    Of working alongside Bradley in the movie, GaGa said, “The most challenging part of this process for me was being as vulnerable as the character needed…but he made me feel so comfortable. She went on saying, “He challenged me in ways I’ve never been challenged before and I am so so grateful to him for that.”
    GaGa has been focused on her music career in the recent months. She released her album “Chromatica” in May, which boasts singles like “Stupid Love” and Ariana Grande collaborative song “Rain on Me”.
