Sarah Paulson Draws Inspiration From Piper Laurie's 'Carrie' Role for 'Run'

    Hulu

Playing an unstable mother on the run in the Aneesh Chaganty-directed film, the ‘American Horror Story’ regular also shares her excitement working with co-star Kiera Allen.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actress Sarah Paulson studied Piper Laurie’s portrayal of a mad mum while she prepared for her role in new drama “Run (2020)”.
The “American Horror Story” regular plays an unstable mother on the run in the new film and watched Piper in “Carrie” several times to get into character.
“Piper Laurie plays a very protective mother in that movie and I thought if I could look for inspiration it would be a movie like that and from an actress like that,” Sarah says, revealing the young actress who plays her disabled daughter in the movie really helped her nail the role of a desperate mother.

“This is actually the first major thriller in 70 years to star a real wheelchair user – Kiera Allen, who is making a very auspicious film debut,” the 45-year-old actress gushed over her younger co-star. “She’s extraordinary in this movie.”
In another interview about this thriller, Sarah teased, “Things just aren’t always what they seem.” She told Collider, “The character I play has a past and it has informed some of her decisions and her behavior in ways that do, of course, for every person, but what she has done with this past and how she has sort of shifted her worldview to accommodate some of that is kind of compelling, I hope.”
“Run” has “Searching” director Aneesh Chaganty serving behind the lens. Speaking about working with the filmmaker, Sarah said,” The thing that’s sort of amazing about him is that he’s so hungry to know and that’s really exciting.” She added, “He’s got so much enthusiasm and so much excitement and it’s infectious.”
Written by Chaganty and Sev Ohanian, this thriller movie is set to make its digital debut via Hulu on November 20.

'Supernatural': Fans Are in Outrage Following 'Ridiculous' Finale

    The CW

The end of the long-running The CW series is met with divided response from fans as while some are weeping over a sudden death, some other are slamming the plot.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Supernatural” has came to an end with a finale which aired on Thursday, November 19. However, the end of the mystery saga was met with divided response from fans. Some were weeping over the end of the series, while some other were in outrage.
In the finale, [SPOILER] Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) were seen sitting around as they bored because they had no evil to fight. However, that didn’t last long because they later hunted down the nest of group of vampires who were kidnapping children.
They killed them one by one until Dean got impaled on a piece of rebar sticking out of a wall as Sam killed the last vampire. He delivered an emotional message for his brother the importance of carrying on and living his life before he died.

Fans took the unexpected death differently. Crying over it, someone tweeted, “I’m not crying your crying,” while someone else added, “what the HECK. not me sobbing over this. STOPPPPPP #Supernatural.” Another person wrote, “ive never cried on supernatural so much in my life #supernatural.”
However, some fans were not impressed by the plot and blasted the writers online. “the writers are going to HELL for this !” one said. “THIS IS SO STUPID,” another fan slammed the finale. Calling it “ridiculous,” one user wrote, “you’re telling me a wall took out dean winchester. this is ridiculous i’m so pissed off. jensen was so right for hating this episode we should’ve listened. i have to laugh this is just embarrassing.”
“When we said we wanted a Dean monologue. After Cas,Jack and Sam had all had one. THIS WASNT WHAT WE MEANT,” another enraged fan said. “this better be a joke, it’s only been 10 minutes :/” one other added.
As fans hoped that Sam would somehow save his brother or bring him back to life, that didn’t happen. Dean made his way to Heaven and reunited with Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) and “Baby,” his 1967 Chevy Impala.

    Instagram

The former ‘High School Musical’ star has flown to South Australia for the filming days before tough restrictions were implemented following an outbreak of coronavirus in the state.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Survival thriller “Gold” has fallen victims to the coronavirus pandemic. Scheduled to kick off production in November, the Zac Efron-starring film was forced to put its plans on hold following an outbreak of COVID-19 in South Australia that got Adelaide being declared a hotspot for the deadly virus.
Zac himself has, per reported by news.com.au, flown from New South Wales to South Australia two weeks earlier. The publication noted that the filming of his Stan Original movie is taking place hours away from the city of Adelaide. Daily Mail added that the “Baywatch” actor had since been spotted out and about, and was even seen with a film crew on Tuesday, November 17.
Starting midnight on Wednesday, schools, restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and universities across the state were closed as lockdown came into effect. Tough restrictions included the banning of exercising outside. People are also required to wear face masks while out in public. The measure taken to curb the spread of the virus forced Zac and the film crew into a six-day lockdown.

Many Zac’s fans were delighted that the former “High School Musical” star was also locked in the state. “Day one of #Adelaidelockdown. Not ideal, but on the upside we have @ZacEfron locked in with us, so it’s not all bad. We’ve got this Adelaide!! #COVIDSA #LockdownSA,” one tweeted. Another chimed in, “we might all be a bit scared in SA right now but i’m pretty sure we’ve got zac efron locked in here with us so that’s nice.”

Fans shared delights upon learning Zac Efron was also locked in South Australia due to COVID-19.
“Gold” teamed Zac up with director Anthony Hayes, who will also star in the thriller. It revolves around two strangers who stumble across giant gold nugget while traveling through a desert. The pair then device a plan to protect their finding with one leaving to find supplies and the others staying behind.
“This is an exciting, gripping and timely tale about greed, humanity, who we are, what we’ve done to the world and where we are heading if we aren’t careful,” Hayes said of the film. “To have Zac Efron as my main man on this film is an absolute gift and to see what he is creating already is like nothing we’ve seen from him before. I can’t wait to deliver this bold, visceral and cinematic film to audiences all around the world.”

'RHSLC': Meredith Marks Separates From Husband of More Than 2 Decades

    Instagram

The ‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ star opens up about her and Seth’s split in a new episode of the Bravo reality show, saying they ‘got completely disconnected.’

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Meredith Marks is now a single woman, apparently. In the Wednesday, November 17 episode of the Bravo show, Meredith shared that she and husband Seth had split after over 25 years of marriage.
“Seth and I have been together for a really long time,” she opened up. “We met when we were 23, got married at 24 and had a baby at 25. It was just a tornado that came through and that was it. I was young but head-over-heels in love, so I went for it.”
Meredith and Seth were then seen discussing their relationship over dinner. “Who have you told that we are separated?” Seth asked the Bravo personality. “Do all your friends know we are separated?”

Meredith then shockingly revealed that she hadn’t told any of her friends about their split. “It’s not like I’m running around talking about this to everyone. I prefer they don’t discuss it,” she explained.
As to why she decided to end their marriage of more than 2 decades, Meredith divulged, “Over the years, it just broke down. We moved many times. We kind of were uprooted –I was trying to start my company, he was running his business, we had the three kids. There was just no communication and hostility built, and built and built, and we just got so totally overwhelmed that we just were completely disconnected.”
Things went south during the dinner with Seth accusing Meredith of “hiding” parts of her life because she refused to let him look at her phone. “I would like for you to read my phone, only because it makes me think that you care,” he claimed, to which Meredith responded, “I do care.” They didn’t discuss that for a long time because she changed the topic afterwards.
“This is hard stuff,” admitted Seth of their split. “I’d like to have a life partner and a soulmate to share everything with. I hate being separated.”

    WENN

The ‘First They Killed My Father’ helmer has enlisted the upcoming biopic of the legendary war photographer Don Mccullin as her next directorial big screen project.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Angelina Jolie will direct the forthcoming biopic, “Unreasonable Behaviour”, on the life of legendary war photographer Don Mccullin.
Produced by Tom Hardy and Dean Baker, the film is an “unflinching account of the celebrated British war photographer’s life, which took him from poverty-stricken, wartime London to some of the world’s most dangerous war zones,” according to Deadline.
In a statement, Jolie admitted she’s “humbled to have a chance to bring Don McCullin’s life to film,” sharing, “I was drawn to his unique combination of fearlessness and humanity – his absolute commitment to witnessing the truth of war, and his empathy and respect for those who suffer its consequences.”

“We hope to make a film that is as uncompromising as Don’s photography, about the extraordinary people and events he witnessed, and the rise and fall of a unique era in journalism.”
Don himself added, “Having viewed Angelina’s last film on Cambodia (and having spent so much time during the war there) I was very impressed at how she made such a powerful and accurate representation of the place at that time. I feel as if I am in safe, capable and professional hands with her.”
BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Gregory Burke is writing the screenplay, which is based on McCullin’s autobiography of the same name and offers an unflinching account of his experiences in poverty-stricken, wartime London and some of the world’s most dangerous war zones.
Angelina Jolie’s directorial movies include 2007’s documentary “A Place in Time”, 2011’s anti-war film “In the Land of Blood and Honey”, 2014’s true-story movie “Unbroken”, 2015’s romantic drama “By the Sea” with then-husband Brad Pitt, and the most recent one 2017’s Cambodian historical thriller “First They Killed My Father”.
