'The Mandalorian' Fans Demand Removal of Gina Carano Over Anti-Mask Tweets

    Disney+

The former MMA fighter, who portrays Cara Dune on the ‘Star Wars’ series by Disney Plus, draws the backlash after sharing her stance on COVID-19 protective measures and the presidential election.

    Nov 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Fans of “The Mandalorian” are calling for actress Gina Carano’s role to be recast over a series of anti-mask tweets amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The former mixed martial arts fighter portrays Cara Dune on the Disney+ Star Wars series, but she hasn’t been winning fans on social media after sharing her stance on COVID-19 protective measures and the U.S. presidential election.
Carano took to Twitter over the weekend, November 13-15, to share an image of two people purposely putting face masks over their eyes.
“BREAKING NEWS: DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT LEADERS NOW RECOMMENDS (sic) WE ALL WEAR BLINDFOLDS ALONG WITH MASKS SO WE CAN’T SEE WHAT’S REALLY GOING ON,” the meme caption read.

Gina Carano voiced what seemed to be anti-mask stance amid the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
The posting prompted the launch of the #FireGinaCarano hashtag as several social media users expressed outrage.

“Woah, Gina this is extremely irresponsible. If you are referring to the election, there is no proof of any fraud,” one user rebuffed Carano’s tweet. “If you are referring to mask wearing, we should be doing that and if we all did it we would be able to go outside sooner.”

One social media user reminded Gina Carano about the irresponsible nature of her tweet.
Another slammed the wrestler-turned-actress, “She’s spread bats**t conspiracy theories about covid, spread bats**t conspiracy theories about election fraud… She no longer gets the benefit of the doubt.”

Another Twitter user slammed Gina Carano over her anti-mask tweet.
“On a serious note, Disney needs to f**king do something about this. Gina Carano needs to walk away from ‘The Mandalorian’. There’s no place for people like her in the Star Wars community,” another critic added.

A critic called for the firing of Gina Carano over her anti-mask tweet.
Bosses at Disney+ have yet to comment on the controversy.

Her mum, Dina Lohan, also confirmed the news by sharing a news story about Lindsay’s return on her Instagram feed along with a bunch of clapping emojis.

Lindsay’s announcement follows a telling message exchange with fellow judge Dave Hughes, who told his “Hughesy & Ed” show listeners in October the star believed she was on board to return. Channel 10 boss Beverly McGarvey additionally teased that there was “wiggle room” for Lindsay to come back when the network confirmed the show’s third season.
The judging panel for “The Masked Singer Australia” comprises singer Dannii Minogue, stand-up comic Dave and radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson. It is unknown whether Urzila will be leaving the show as a result of Lindsay returning or if the judging panel will increase to five next year.
Lindsay previously unfollowed all of her panel members this year following her replacement by comedian Urzila. According to Dave, the “Liz & Dick” star responded at the time, “I think so!!!! I hope so!!!! How’s it going over there?”

Chadwick Boseman's Co-Star Talks His Explosion of Fury During 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom' Filming

    Netflix

When paying tribute to the late actor, Colman Domingo recalls an emotional moment from one particular scene’s shooting that left his castmate being reduced to tears.

    Nov 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chadwick Boseman was reduced to tears while filming a scene for “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom”, his co-star Colman Domingo has revealed.
The Netflix movie was the last Chadwick filmed before his tragic death from colon cancer in August. And paying tribute to his late castmate, Domingo recalled a tale from the shoot – when Chadwick’s character Levee denounces God after being told a story about a Black pastor being confronted by a group of White men by Domingo’s Cutler.
“He stops mid way of the speech, and whatever was happening there I think (co-stars) Michael (Potts), Glynn (Turman), and I, we all knew it,” Colman said as he participated in a recent panel for the film. “It was one of those moments when you go, ‘This is the good stuff, and we’re all here, do not step away.’ ”
“Something was happening with Chad, and he turned away. I thought he was about to stop the scene, and I don’t think I’ve ever done this before in my entire career, I just said, ‘Tell me, tell me.’ I was just yelling at him. ‘Tell me! Tell me!’ Like, do not give up this scene. And then he explodes with all the rage and fury and the questions of God’s will.”

      See also…

At that point, they “all just embraced each other and sobbed,” Colman added.
“All these grown men with tears in their eyes. Michael, Glynn, Chad, myself we were silent for at least a good minute and we were all trying to collect ourselves,” he explained. “We didn’t know what was in the room and what we were actually dealing with, what were the underpinnings of that scene. It was a whisper at first and then it was a roar.”
Colman had no idea that Chadwick was actually battling colon cancer at the time, and now thinks of that moment on set as a true reflection of the actor’s dedication to his art.
“That man had this fight in him to the very end, and now it makes sense why he’s played so many kings in rapid succession, it’s as if he knew he didn’t have enough time on this Earth,” Colman mused. “Or he wasn’t given to us for that long. But he made such an impression that I think this film seals the deal.”

Adam Driver Accosts John Oliver for 'Strange' Obsession With Him in 'Last Week Tonight' Skit

    WENN/Avalon/FayesVision

In the season finale episode of the satirical news show, the ‘Marriage Story’ actor jokingly calls the TV host ‘a hollow-boned Mr. Bean cosplayer’ and an ‘under-baked gingerbread boy’ in retaliation.

    Nov 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Adam Driver has confronted comedian and TV host John Oliver for repeatedly mentioning him during episodes of his award-winning show “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver”.
Oliver recapped the year during Sunday, November 15 night’s season finale episode of his satirical news show, which featured a segment in which the funny man noted he spent the year “demanding that Adam Driver demolish me, crush my larynx.”
The moment was interrupted by the actor, who appeared on the programme via FaceTime to face off with the TV personality.
“This thing you’ve been doing that’s either sexual or violent… This strange, strange bit that for some reason you’ve pulled me into. What is it?” Driver asked in the skit. “When you first started doing it, it was easy for me to shrug it off.”

      See also…

Oliver repeatedly interrupted the “Marriage Story” star with quips like, “Especially with those shoulders, I bet.”
    [embedded content]
“Stop talking!” Driver jokingly snapped back. “Do you realize, over this past year, what you’ve asked me to do to you? ‘Collapse on your chest.’ ‘Tie your fingers in a square knot.’ ‘Step on your throat.’ ‘Shatter your knees.’ ‘Pull your heart out through your ear’… What’s wrong with you? You realize we’re strangers, right? I don’t know you… I’m sick of people stopping me on the street and asking me if I’m going to punch a hole in you like a ‘Marriage Story’ (Driver’s film) wall.”
The actor then poked fun at the thrilled Brit, calling him “a hollow-boned Mr. Bean cosplayer” and an “under-baked gingerbread boy,” before declaring the skit “over” as he signed off.
