A representative for film studio New Line has confirmed that production has been shut down after a crew member of the Olivia Wilde-directed film tested positive for the coronavirus.

    Nov 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Harry Styles, Florence Pugh and Chris Pine have all been forced into isolation after a positive Covid-19 test on the set of their new movie “Don’t Worry, Darling”.
The “Golden” singer was shooting the film in Los Angeles on Wednesday, November 4 when a member of the production tested positive for the coronavirus. According to Deadline, a representative for film studio New Line confirmed the report and stated that they’d shut down as soon as they’d found out about the positive test.
The outlet added that the studio wouldn’t reveal who had tested positive, but a source told Deadline that it wasn’t “a member of the principal cast but someone who was in close enough proximity to them that the shut down was deemed necessary to find out if anyone else on the production has been exposed”.

No one else has tested positive at this point, but work on the film will halt for around 14 days, with everyone who worked on the movie placed into immediate isolation as per Los Angeles’ Covid-19 guidelines.
Production is expected to resume as soon as the quarantine period ends.
Harry’s role in “Don’t Worry, Darling” comes on the back of his starring in the critically-acclaimed “Dunkirk”. “Don’t Worry, Darling” tells the story of an unhappy housewife, played by Florence, who questions her sanity when strange things start happening. Harry stars as her husband who’s “hiding a dark secret”, while Chris plays the leader of a nearby cult-like worksite.
Olivia Wilde is directing and also rewrote the Carey and Shane Van Dyke-penned script alongside her “Booksmart” partner Katie Silberman.

Brandon Routh Teases Possibility of His Superman's Return in Flash Movie

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The ‘Superman Returns’ actor, who recently reprised his role as the Man of Steel in ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover, says everything is possible with his character.

    Nov 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Brandon Routh has no reservations about his return as Superman, though the role has gone through another incarnation with Henry Cavill taking over the baton in the DCEU. Speaking in a new interview with the Geek House Show, the actor is open to the possibility of reprising the role in a Flash movie.
“I mean, that’s always a possibility,” Routh said of the potential for him to return in a DCEU movie. “And of course since they’re bringing back Michael Keaton, which I’m excited about, and some other people from past DC projects, I think it’s very exciting.”
Citing his Superman’s return in “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover on The CW’s Arrowverse, the “Superman Returns” star added, “It worked very well with ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’, and I was extremely proud and honored to be a part of it and to reprise Superman, so it’s absolutely a possibility.”
He went on explaining how it works with superhero character in comic books, “I mean, you can do anything with Superman. You know everybody lives and dies all the time [in the comics].”

While The Flash movie has been showing very little progress since it underwent director change several times from 2018 until 2019, it was recently reported that Michael Keaton was in talks to reprise his role as Batman in Ezra Miller’s standalone superhero film. The “Birdman” star first donned the cape and cowl for 1989’s “Batman” and its sequel “Batman Returns”.
According to TheWrap.com, Keaton’s return is made possible because the storyline will include multiverse, in which multiple versions of the same characters exist in alternate universes. It’s additionally noted that Keaton’s return as Batman won’t affect the plot outlined in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” which stars Robert Pattinson in the title role.
As for Routh, he only got one chance to portray Superman on the big screen, after his 2006’s film “Superman Returns” received lukewarm response at Box Office despite majorly positive reviews from critics.

Charlie Hunnam on Tom Hardy as the Next James Bond: That Would Be Sensational

    WENN/DJDM/Charlie Steffens

‘The Gentlemen’ actor has also shared his thought on the possibility of him being picked to take over the 007 role from Daniel Craig, admitting that he ‘shouldn’t be waiting for that phone call to come.’

    Nov 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Charlie Hunnam is backing Tom Hardy as the next James Bond, while confessing he’d love to have a crack at 007 himself.
The actor is considered a rank outsider to take over from Daniel Craig and the smart money is on Hardy landing the role, but Hunnam is calling on fans to keep putting him in the mix – because he knows Hollywood loves chatter.
“I would be so flattered and honored to be considered to play James Bond as an Englishman, but my intuition tells me that I shouldn’t be waiting for that phone call to come,” he tells People. “I think there are many people ahead of me on that list.”

Admitting “it’s very flattering sort of fan dialogue,” he notes that “nobody’s ever, on a professional level from within the industry, brought that up to me.” Still, he urges people to keep bringing it up, saying, “As much as people want to talk about me playing James Bond, please continue. Maybe that’s the genesis of these things. Maybe fan chatter leads to industry people actually talking about it in a more serious way.”
Like many, he’d love to see Hardy as 007, “I hear that he’s really the front runner. I think that would be sensational. I’m an enormous Tom Hardy fan, so I would love to see him as James Bond.”
Recent reports suggested Bond bosses were about to name Hardy as Craig’s successor just before the release of the latest 007 film, “No Time to Die”, but when the movie shifted from November to next Easter (21), producer Barbara Broccoli announced no casting would be confirmed until the new film came out.

'The Witches': Studio 'Saddened' by Backlash Over 'Damaging Portrayal' of Disability

    Warner Bros.

Movie bosses at Warner Brothers release an apology to the disability community as they regret upsetting people with the depiction of the eponymous characters.

    Nov 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Warner Bros. officials have issued an apology after prominent members of the disability community condemned the depiction of the eponymous characters in “The Witches”.
In the movie, inspired by Roald Dahl’s children’s novel of the same name, Anne Hathaway’s character is shown with hands that are similar to the limb abnormality ectrodactyly, which is characterized by the absence of one or more central digits on the hand or foot.
After figures including campaigners, Paralympians, and Paralympic Games organization officials took issue with the film, Warner Bros. bosses told Deadline they were “deeply saddened to learn that our depiction of the fictional characters in ‘The Witches’ could upset people with disabilities” and “regretted any offense caused.”
“In adapting the original story, we worked with designers and artists to come up with a new interpretation of the cat-like claws that are described in the book,” they added.

“It was never the intention for viewers to feel that the fantastical, non-human creatures were meant to represent them.”
British Paralympic swimmer Amy Marren was one of the first to call out the studio for the imagery, while disability advocate Shannon Crossland stated on Instagram that the imagery in the film was “no way a reflection of the original novel written by Roald Dahl.”
In the 1983 novel, the witches are said to have “square feet with no toes” and “claws instead of fingernails,” with Marren adding, “Is this the kind of message we want the next generation to receive. That having three fingers is a witch’s attribute?”
“It is an extremely damaging portrayal,” she insisted. “Disability should NOT be associated with evil, abnormality, disgust, fear or monsters.”

Ruth Wilson Left 'The Affair' Because She 'Didn't Feel Safe' on Set

    WENN

The British actress finally talks about the reason behind her abrupt departure from the Dominic West-fronted TV show, two years after she quit the Showtime series.

    Nov 5, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ruth Wilson has finally broken her silence about her decision to quit hit TV drama “The Affair”, confessing she has spent a year figuring out how to talk about it.
The Brit abruptly exited the series without explanation in 2018, amid reports she was unhappy with the nudity required of her and the alleged hostility behind the scenes.
Promoting her movie “Little Strangers” on “CBS This Morning” in August, 2018, she told Gayle King, “I did want to leave but I’m not allowed to talk about why,” prompting the TV presenter to ask her if it had anything to do with salary issues.
“I’ve never complained to (network bosses at) Showtime about pay parity,” Wilson said.

But she told Britain’s Radio Times she was paid less than her co-star Dominic West.
Now, Ruth tells Stylist, “The reason I haven’t gone into The Affair is that I haven’t worked out how to discuss it. There’s a lot of noise and anger surrounding it, and really the power rests with me to choose how I discuss my life and my experiences.”
“What’s important to say is that I did speak up. I did have a voice. I did stand up for myself. There was a situation on The Affair where things didn’t feel right, and I dealt with them, and I managed to protect myself.”
“It was before #MeToo and before Harvey Weinstein (scandal) – and yet my instincts were very clear and strong about what I felt was wrong, about what was going on, and what I didn’t feel safe about.”

Seth Rogen Pours Cold Water to Potential 'Superbad' Sequel

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

While he believes the cast of the 2007 comedy is too old for a follow-up film, the ‘Long Shot’ actor admits that he has been talking a lot about a sequel to ‘Pineapple Express’.

    Nov 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Seth Rogen has doused “Superbad” fans’ dreams of a sequel, insisting the cast is too old to make a follow-up to the hit comedy.
The actor/writer recently teamed up with his co-stars from the 2007 movie for an online reunion, but he insists film fans are reading too much into the get together if they think it was staged to spark a possible “Superbad II”.
“There has not been talk of it,” he tells “Good Morning America”. “I think we’re all much too old. Ben Stiller is 65 years old now, which he doesn’t look, but I I think he’s too old to play a high school kid,” Seth quipped, of the 54-year-old.
“We all get along… We all really like each other…,” he continued. “We hang out and see each other regularly, but I don’t think a Superbad sequel is coming any time soon.”

But there are other films Rogen is considering revisiting, adding, “People seem to want a ‘Pineapple Express’ sequel – that’s something we talk about a lot. ‘Sausage Party’ is a film we made that we talk about.”
Also starring Jonah Hill, “Superbad” follows two co-dependent high school seniors who are forced to deal with separation anxiety after their plan to stage a drinking party goes in vain. The 2007 was a critical hit, earning around $20 million.
The cast also includes Michael Cera, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Bill Harder, Emma Stones, Martha MacIsaac, Joe Lo Truglio, Kevin Corrigan and [c=Dave Franco among others.

Rami Malek on Rumors His 'No Time to Die' Character Is Bond Villain Dr. No: 'You Will Be Shocked'

    Universal Pictures

The Academy Award-winning actor responds to fan theories that he’s secretly playing Dr. No, though his villainous character has been officially addressed as Safin.

    Nov 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – A good movie is known for keeping a twist until the climax, so Rami Malek won’t spill any about his movie “No Time to Die”. Amid the long wait for the next James Bond film, the actor has responded to one of biggest fan theories about his villainous character.
There have been rambling talks that the “Bohemian Rhapsody” star is secretly playing Dr. No in the upcoming movie, though his character has been officially addressed as Safin in interviews and promotional photos. Dr. No is the first villain that the 007 agent ever faced on the big screen.
Fueling the speculation is the fact that Malek’s character is barely seen without gloves on in footage of the movie. Dr. No famously had robotic hands in the 1962 Bond film, which was titled after the main villain.

In a new interview with British GQ, Malek admitted that he’s aware of the rumors saying he’s possibly playing a 21st incarnation of Dr. No. “Yes,” he responded to the question, nodding thoughtfully. Remaining tight-lipped, he added, “That’s interesting. I’m not going to bite on that, but I do think it’s interesting. They’ll just have to wait and see.”
One thing for sure, the 39-year-old actor claimed that viewers will be blown away by the film. “Let the rumors fly,” he said, before teasing, “because no matter what you expect from this movie, you will be shocked when you watch the film. I will not add any fuel to that fire.”
Director Cary Fukunaga, meanwhile, explained how “No Time to Die” villain is designed as the largest Bond film to date. “Once we got into Christoph Waltz/Blofeld territory, you can’t go small again,” he told the publication. “We had to think bigger. It’s tricky because you don’t want to make a cliche super villain, but you have to make someone that’s threatening not only to Bond and the people he loves but to the world at large.”
“No Time to Die” theatrical release has been pushed back several times due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Most recently, MGM and Eon Productions announced that the movie will arrive on April 2, 2021.
