  • Michael B. Jordan Could Make Directorial Debut With 'Creed 3'

    Warner Bros.

The ‘Black Panther’ actor is reportedly in talks to direct the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Creed II’, in which he’s also expected to reprise his role as Adonis Johnson.

    Oct 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Michael B. Jordan is looking to expand his resume with directing credit and his first project as a director could be “Creed 3”. The actor is reportedly in talks to serve at the helm for the third installment of the “Rocky” spin-off franchise, which he also stars in.
The news was first shared by Deadline when reporting the possibility of “No Time to Die” being sold off to a streaming service like Netflix, Amazon and Apple after several release delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the report which described the James Bond franchise as “MGM’s crown jewel,” the site casually revealed that “MGM is working on a ‘Creed’ sequel that Michael B Jordan is considering to direct.”
While it has not been confirmed how far the talk about Jordan making his directorial debut with “Creed 3” is, he’s expected to return and reprise his role as Adonis Johnson, the illegitimate son of the late Apollo Creed, who is at the center of the stories in the first and second movie. He also served as executive producer for “Creed II”.

In his book “A Life in Movies: Stories From 50 Years in Hollywood” which was published in 2019, producer Irwin Winkler mentioned that he had promised Jordan that “he’d get his chance to direct ‘Creed III’.” He revealed, “Last year in a conversation with our ‘Creed’ star Michael B. Jordan, I offered him the opportunity to not only star in, but also to direct ‘Creed III’.”
The first “Creed” movie was directed by Ryan Coogler, who previously directed Jordan in 2013’s “Fruitvale Station”. Steven Caple Jr. took over the role behind the lens for the sequel, which was released in 2018.
In both first two movies, Sylvester Stallone returned as Robert “Rocky” Balboa, Sr., Apollo’s enemy-turned-best friend who becomes Adonis’ avuncular trainer and mentor. In the second film, Adonis meets Viktor Drago, son of Ivan Drago, in the ring. Dolph Lundgren reprised his role as the Russian former prize champion boxer, who killed Apollo during an exhibition boxing match years before.
Jordan is also known for his role as Erik Killmonger in “Black Panther”, which was also directed by Coogler. He will next be seen in “Without Remorse”, which is based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Tom Clancy.

  • 'RHOP': Monique Samuels Fears Getting Arrested After Candiace Dillard Presses Charges

    Instagram

The ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star, however, won’t let that happen as later in a promo video she hints that she has also filed a counterclaim against her co-star and former friend.

    Oct 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Fans of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” will be given more insights into the drama between Monique Samuels and her co-star Candiace Dillard following their brutal fight. In a preview for next week’s episode of the Bravo reality show series, Monique can be seen reacting to her former friend pressing charges against her.
She seems to be nervous that she might end in the jail now that Candiace took legal action. “If the judge believes your story and never heard mine, I could be arrested in front of my kids,” she says in the teaser.
Monique, however, won’t let that happen as later in the clip she hints that she has also filed a counterclaim against Candiace. “If you’re going to come after me, I have no choice but to come after you,” Monique reveals in a confessional. Candiace may catch wind of the move as she can be seen crying and saying, “That rusty a** b***h.”

Monique and Candiace pressed charges and accused each other of second-degree assault with lawsuits that were filed in the District Court of Montgomery County in Maryland back in November. However, later in December, the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office informed lawyers for the co-stars that they would not be pursuing their ongoing cross complaints.
In a previous episode, “RHOP” stars were shocked to find out that Candiace pressed charges against Monique following the brawl. When Candiace said that she planned to put Monique in jail, Gizelle responded, “That’s a lot.” Robyn Dixon echoed the sentiment, saying, “I would hate for her to go to jail.”
Meanwhile, Karen Huger revealed to the other Housewives that she reached out to Monique following the fight. She told them that Monique seemed to regret acting violently at the time and that Monique told her that Candiace “didn’t deserve that.”

    Oct 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – Bosses at MGM Studios reportedly put a $600 million price tag on new James Bond movie “No Time to Die” as they considered a streaming deal in place of a theatrical release.
The movie, Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007, was supposed to be released back in April 2020, but was pushed back until November right at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has since been pushed back again until April, 2021 – and Variety reported producers considered scrapping the theatrical release altogether.
“The studio was said to be looking for a deal of roughly $600 million – a price tag that was deemed too rich for two of the free-spending streaming services,” the publication claimed, with Apple TV+ and Netflix among the platforms reportedly in the mix for the possible acquisition.

The new male lead, however, won’t be named anytime soon. The new replacement will be announced only after the latest movie installment is released.
