Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill and Timothee Chalamet are among other actors who are newly announced to appear in Adam McKay’s upcoming Netflix film ‘Don’t Look Up’.
    Oct 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Netflix has announced the cast of its upcoming film “Don’t Look Up” and it couldn’t get any starrier. Having had Jennifer Lawrence on board to star in the Adam McKay-directed movie, it has now added the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Ariana Grande in the line-up.
Unveiled through the streaming giant’s official Twitter account on Wednesday, October 14, other actors who have just been confirmed to appear in the movie include Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, Timothee Chalamet, Himesh Patel, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry and Tomer Sisley. They all will join Lawrence and Rob Morgan, who were earlier tapped to star.

DiCaprio and Lawrence will take on the lead roles in “Don’t Look Up”, which centers on two low-level astronomers who discover that a meteor will hit Earth in six months. They will embark on an unsuccessful media tour in an attempt to warn the world of the impending danger that may destroy mankind.
McKay will write and co-produce the flick under his Hyperobject Industries Banner in addition to serving as director. When the project was first announced in February of this year, it was expected that the production would start in April. But the coronavirus crisis has derailed the plan and as of now, no start date and release date are announced for the movie just yet.
Scott Stuber, head of Netflix films, said of the project earlier this year, “Adam has always had great timing when it comes to making smart, relevant and irreverent films that depict our culture. Even if he somehow ends up predicting planet Earth’s imminent demise, we’re excited to add this to our slate before it all comes to an end.”
According to Deadline, most of cast had been loosely attached since the spring, but DiCaprio needed some time to consider if he could do both “Don’t Look Up” and his next Martin Scorsese film “Killers of the Flower Moon”. But it appears that the production delay works out for the best for the movie, since it allows the Oscar-winning actor to fit “Don’t Look Up” into his schedule now.

  • Melanie C Plots Spice Girls Biopic Following Successful Reunion Tour

    Instagram

Following a successful reunion on stage, the Sporty Spice is thinking of developing a big screen project about the life and legacy of her all-girl group during their heyday.
    Oct 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Melanie C wants to move forward with plans for a Spice Girls biopic due to the success of the girl band’s recent reunion tour.
The girls released “Spice World: The Movie”, which spoofed their lives as pop superstars at the height of their fame in 1997, and have been developing an animated superhero film based on their Spice Girls personas with Paramount Animation.
However, Melanie also thinks the time is right for a pop biopic showing their beginnings of the band, following their tour and blockbuster big screen retellings of Queen and Elton John’s careers.

“I think it’s the perfect time, really,” she tells U.K. chat show host Lorraine Kelly. “When you look back at last year, the nostalgia – so many people came to the shows and they were reliving their childhood. I think the music and the story of the Spice Girls, the beginnings of it, everything that happened in between, I think it’s perfect subject matter for one of those movies.”
The “Northern Star” hitmaker also gave fans an update on the band’s plans to return to the road to celebrate their 25th anniversary – with or without fifth member Victoria Beckham, who skipped their 2019 trek.
“We had the most incredible year last year, playing stadiums and we have got to do it again,” she explained. “We talk about it all the time. Of course this year has thrown everything into chaos, I think a lot of the big artists that were planning to perform this year will move to next year, so sadly it probably will delay the Spice Girls getting back on stage, but I’m doing everything in my power to make that happen.”
Melanie’s new self-titled solo album is out now.

    Showtime announced ‘Dexter’ revival.
While plot for the upcoming reboot is currently in under wraps, fans would remember that season 8 finale of the original show, which aired from 2006 to 2013 on the network, was widely panned as it featured Hall’s Dexter faking his death. He lived under a new name in Oregon after wrecking his boat and escaping from a hospital along with the body of his sister, who had been shot and left in a coma. He also sent his son Harrison and love interest Hannah to live in Argentina.

Following the audition portion of the show, the live competition stages had been scheduled to start on Saturday (17Oct20). However, after the positive tests, the programmes have been delayed by a week so that those affected could self isolate.
“We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines,” a statement from the BBC read. “Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s programme.”

The host Chris Ramsey was ‘absolutely gutted” by the delay before adding that he tested negative for the virus. • 'Queer Eye' Star Karamo Brown Would Love to Find Love on 'The Bachelor' After Split From Fiance

    WENN

The Netflix reality television star is keen to be the first gay man to find love on the ABC dating show following his separation from Ian Jordan after ten years of relationship.
    Oct 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown has put his name forward for becoming the first gay Bachelor.
The TV personality is a massive fan of “The Bachelor” franchise and, after splitting with fiance Ian Jordan after 10 years together, he tells Us Weekly he’d happily appear on the show.
“Have they ever had a gay Bachelor?” asks the 39-year-old. “We can go for it. Let’s try it. I would… Why not? Let me tell you something: what I’ve learned right now – and I tweeted this the other day – is that dating is a mess.”

      See also…

Explaining his unfortunate experience of looking for love, Karamo insists that “sending inappropriate pics is not a way to ever engage with someone,” adding, “I don’t know why guys think that’s an appropriate thing to do. So, it’s like, please keep it respectful. You know what I mean?”
“It’s been like out of order. It’s like, where are the gentlemen, you know what I mean,” he says. “I was out of the game for like 10 years and I didn’t know about apps and these things and I was like, oh my gosh, dating in 2020 or 2021 is a mess.”
Another conversation starter that fails to land for the star is lyrics to Cardi B’s explicit hit “WAP”, with the star laughing, “I was like, ‘Why do you think this would be me? Like, me? You think I’m going to be like, ‘Oh, great. Cardi B lyrics. Yes, let’s date.’ ”
Bringing it back to “The Bachelor”, Karamo muses, “So, if I could just get a whole bunch of great guys in one room and just to, like, go through, sign me up.”

  • This 'Wonder Woman 1984' Star Turns His DC Movie Script Into Comic Book

    Warner Bros. Pictures

Pedro Pascal who is set to antagonize Gal Gadot in the ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel has turned his script into his own graphic novel to help him learn his lines.
    Oct 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Pedro Pascal turned his script for new superhero movie “Wonder Woman 1984” into a comic book to help him learn his lines.
The “Game of Thrones” actor stars as Max Lord in the new DC Comics movie, a businessman nemesis to Gal Gadot’s title character.
In order to get a feel of how to play a larger than life villain, he transformed his script into a pop-art scrapbook featuring pictures of the character taken from the comic books, adding text bubbles containing his lines.
“I felt like I had wake myself up again in a big way,” he tells Variety of his unorthodox approach. “This was just a practical way of, like, instead of going home tired and putting Netflix on, (I would) actually deal with this physical thing, doodle and think about it and run it.”

Director Patty Jenkins, who worked with Pedro on an unaired 2015 TV pilot, “Exposed”, had no qualms about casting the usually reserved actor in a cartoonish part.
“I didn’t need him to prove anything for me,” she adds. “I just loved the idea of him, and I thought he would be kind of unexpected, because he doesn’t scream ‘villain.’ ”
“I would never cast him as just the stoic, quiet guy,” Jenkins says. “I almost think he’s unrecognizable from Narcos (TV series) to Wonder Woman. Wouldn’t even know that was the same guy. But I think that may change.”
“Wonder Woman 1984” is scheduled for release on Christmas Day (25Dec20).
