  • Jesse Metcalfe Credits 'DWTS' Stint for His Weight Loss

    WENN

The ‘Desperate Housewives’ alum reveals he has lost 10 pounds and improved his posture because of the rigorous rehearsals for his stint on ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
    Oct 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jesse Metcalfe has credited his stint on “Dancing with the Stars” for helping him to lose 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) and improve his posture.
The former “Desperate Housewives” star became the latest celebrity to be sent home from the competition on Monday night (12Oct20), after he and partner Sharna Burgess failed to impress the judges with their tango to Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” during the show’s 80s night.
And while he only lasted five weeks on the programme, Jesse will continue to enjoy the effects of following such a rigorous exercise regime.

“I think the journey was cut short a bit but everything that’s meant to be will be and this was the end of the road for me. I trimmed down, I lost 10 pounds and I really think it helped with my posture,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “Overall it was just such an amazing experience. It was very challenging but incredibly rewarding.”
Professional dancer Sharna added that she was “so proud” of the screen star, despite their exit from the show.
“Jesse has done an amazing job at stepping up, with absolutely no experience whatsoever, and doing something that is incredibly difficult,” she smiled. “And doing it in front of millions of people! I’m proud of him. I wish we could have gone further, for sure, because there’s so much I wanted to show. But I’m grateful that we got to do the five weeks that we did.”

  • Mariah Carey Teases 'Exciting' Movie Comeback

    Instagram

The ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ hitmaker hints at her upcoming comeback to the big screen, three years since the songstress was signed on for a feature film.
    Oct 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mariah Carey looks set to return to the big screen after teasing “very exciting” talks with film industry pals.
The “Loverboy” singer attempted to crack Hollywood back in 2001 with her semi-autobiographical flick “Glitter” but, following a poor critical response and a release around the time of the 11 September attacks on the World Trade Center, it was labelled a flop.
However, that doesn’t seem to have deterred the star who, in a chat with BBC Radio 2’s Trevor Nelson, teased a potential return to the silver screen.
“I’ve been having some conversations with some very creative friends of mine who may or may not be in the world of film and that’s a very exciting prospect,” she teased.

While Mariah didn’t elaborate on the discussions, she’s no doubt been compelled to revisit a potential movie career following a revived interest in “Glitter” in recent years. Most notably, a #JusticeForGlitter social media campaign saw the record top the U.S. iTunes album chart in 2018.
The “Shake It Off” star didn’t reveal whether she would be in the movie or whether her involvement would be based primarily behind the camera.
Mariah Carey was last seen on the big screen in 2017 when she made a cameo appearance as herself in a comedy movie “Girls Trip” starring Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Regina Hall.
In the same year, she provided voice to the animated movies “The Lego Batman Movie” and “The Star”. She additionally narrated a direct-to-video Christmas cartoon movie based on her festive classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You”.

  • Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs Called 'Pathetic' by 'Charmed' Reboot Star

    WENN/Instagram

Sarah Jeffery who stars in the new ‘Charmed’ series has fired back at the two original cast members over their negative attitude towards the Netflix reboot.
    Oct 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actress Sarah Jeffery has slammed Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan for their “embarrassing” attitudes towards the reboot of their show “Charmed”.
During a recent TikTok event, Holly and Rose – who starred alongside Alyssa Milano in the show about three witch sisters – took aim at the CW reboot, which stars Sarah as Maggie Vega.
“It sucks,” Rose said, before admitting she hasn’t actually seen the show. “I’m glad people have jobs. But it sucks.”
While Holly stayed silent, she failed to hold back her laughter about Rose’s comments.

And addressing the TikTok video, Sarah took to Twitter to slam the actresses for their behaviour as she said, “You know, I saw this earlier and I refrained from saying anything. I thought, better to just let them shout into the abyss. But I do want to say, I find it sad and quite frankly pathetic to see grown women behaving this way.”
“I truly hope they find happiness elsewhere, and not in the form of putting down other WOC (women of colour). I would be embarrassed to behave this way. Peace and love to y’all.”
Initially, Rose McGowan was not so negative when the reboot was first announced. In 2018, she said, “I wish nothing but the best for the new female actors whose careers hopefully will be launched by this show into something long and prosperous.”
McGowan changed her tune after Netflix pulled off the original show and replaced it with the new one. “You search for [the show on Netflix], they want you to find the new Charmed and not the old people,” so Holly Marie Combs assumed.
Unlike McGowan, Combs has always been against the reboot. “Until you ask us to rewrite it like Brad Kern did weekly don’t even think of capitalizing on our hard work,” she tweeted in 2018. “Charmed belongs to the 4 of us, our vast amount of writers, crews, and predominantly the fans. FYI you will not fool them by owning a title/stamp. So bye.”

AceShowbiz – Simon Cowell’s plans for a “Britain’s Got Talent” Christmas special have been thrown into disarray after three crew members tested positive for Covid-19.
The festive spectacular was due to film at LH2 Studios in London on Tuesday (13Oct20), but according to Deadline.com, cast and crew were told the shoot would not go ahead on Monday night.
A “Britain’s Got Talent” spokeswoman confirmed the news, but did not comment Deadline’s claim the halt to filming meant the special would now not go ahead.

“As a result of a positive Covid-19 result received yesterday we have implemented our protocols and a number of crew members are self-isolating at home,” she said.
“As a result, we are unable to continue filming our BGT Christmas Special today and have taken the decision to postpone. The safety of all those involved in the show is our number one priority and we follow extensive Covid-19 related procedures to adhere to all government guidelines.”
“Britain’s Got Talent” 14th season ended on Saturday when the delayed live finals finally aired, months after they were postponed due to the U.K.’s coronavirus lockdown. Comedy singer Jon Courtenay was crowned champion, although only 6.5 million viewers in total watched the final on U.K. network ITV and its streaming platform, well down on last year’s 10.1 million.
Rumor has it, two out of four judges, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams, Amanda Holden, and Ashley Banjo, have to enter quarantine after they came in close contact with the crew who subsequently tested positive for the coronavirus.

  • 'NCIS: New Orleans' Actors Sue CBS, Claim They Almost Die in Robbery Scene

    CBS

In their lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles, two actors and a jewelry store owner allege that they almost got killed during the scene when real cops came in the filming set with real guns.
    Oct 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – CBS has been sued by two actors, who acted as robbers who pulled off a jewelry heist for an episode of “NCIS: New Orleans”. In their lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles, they claimed that they almost got killed when real cops came in the filming set with real guns.
TMZ reported the jewelry store’s real-life owner also sued the network. It was said that the plaintiff accused CBS of misleading them into a “guerrilla-style” scene. The scene saw them robbing the store while armed in broad daylight.
The problem arose as CBS allegedly didn’t acquire the proper permits to film. The local police also weren’t informed in an advance notice about the filming.

In the documents, the trio claimed that the show’s producers approached them in October 2017 about the scene. The producers also allegedly told them that the whole thing was actually normal television shoot.
They filmed the robbery scene “in the middle of a busy New Orleans shopping center.” The actors came in after getting off from an unmarked van while donning ski masks, and carrying realistic assault rifles. They shouted, “This is a robbery!” Unaware that it was for filming, the owner of a store next to the jewelry retailer called 911.
Cops arrived at the store in no time and they allegedly pointed their actual weapons at the actors. The performers claimed that they’re traumatized by the event and that it resulted in emotional stress. The three are seeking damages.
CBS, meanwhile, is said to be trying to get the case dismissed in California court. Its legal team argued that the plaintiffs should file the case in Lousiana because the event occurred there. However, the trio’s lawyer claimed that California is the appropriate venue for the case because CBS, which produces the show, is located in Los Angeles.

Paramount Pictures reportedly eyes the ‘Bird Box’ actress and the ‘Deadpool’ star for its upcoming romantic action film, with Adam and Aaron Nee being attached to direct.
    Oct 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – More than a decade after showing their chemistry in “The Proposal”, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds may re-team for another romantic comedy film. The duo are reportedly eyed to star in Paramount Pictures’ upcoming film “The Lost City of D”.
“The Lost City of D” is a romantic action film that is described as in “Romancing the Stone” style, per Deadline. It centers on a romance author who discovers that a fictional city she had written about is real, prompting her to embark on a risky journey to find the city.
The film is based on an idea by Seth Gordon, and Oren Uziel wrote the first draft, with the most recent draft by Dana Fox. Siblings/up and coming directors Adam and Aaron Nee have been attached to direct, with Bullock producing through her Fortis Films along with Liza Chasin via her company 3dot Productions. Gordon is additionally set to produce via his Exhibit A Films.

As noted by various sites, however, neither Bullock nor Reynolds has signed on to star in the film, and a scheduling conflict may be an issue for the “Deadpool” actor because Paramount wants to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later.
Bullock and Reynolds previously starred in 2009’s “The Proposal”, which became a box office success, grossing over $317 million worldwide. It was the 20th highest-grossing film of 2009. The movie also earned the actress the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.
Bullock went on to star in Alfonso Cuaron’s critically-acclaimed sci-fi film “Gravity”, “Ocean’s 8” and Netflix’s original movie “Bird Box”. She’s currently filming an untitled drama film directed by Nora Fingscheidt, which is written by Christopher McQuarrie, based on the 2009 British miniseries “Unforgiven” written by Sally Wainwright. She stars as Ruth Slater, a woman who attempts to rebuild her life after serving time in prison for committing a violent crime.
As for Reynolds, he has been riding high on “Deadpool” success, leading some big-budgeted action films such as “Pokemon: Detective Pikachu”, “6 Underground” and “Free Guy”, which is scheduled for December 11 release. He is now filming Netflix’s thriller “Red Notice”, which also stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Gal Gadot.
