    The ‘Gravity’ actor and his activist wife Amal Clooney have helped a struggling local theatre to survive ongoing crisis amid the never-ending coronavirus pandemic.

    AceShowbiz – George and Amal Clooney have helped save their struggling local theatre after the venue was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
    The “Gravity” star and his barrister wife donated towards The Mill at Sonning Theatre, which is located close by their lavish mansion in Berkshire, England, after the Covid-19 pandemic forced the venue to close.
    “The Mill at Sonning is to re-open its theatre on 30 October and announces all its in-house theatre productions for 2021,” reads a statement on The Mill’s Facebook page.

    “The auditorium is to be named in honour of legendary playwright Ray Cooney for his incredible support for the venue during lockdown,” it adds. “After nine months in lockdown, The Mill at Sonning, the UK’s only dinner theatre, is to re-open its theatre on 30 October with a winter season of comedy, magic, cabarets and plays.”
    Officials, including Artistic Director Sally Hughes, go on to thank “fundraising and donations from Mill Angel supporters and Hollywood star George Clooney and his wife Amal, who are near neighbours and regular attenders (and) have been a lifeline to ensure the venue’s survival.”
    The Mill will reopen with a reduced capacity of 70 customers for dinner and show, due to the U.K.’s social distancing regulations. The winter 2020 programme features an array of comedy and magic shows, along with cabarets and plays.
    Meanwhile, in the United States, Hollywood movie moguls like Martin Scorsese, Clint Eastwood, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, Judd Apatow, Jon Chu, Sofia Coppola, Alfonso Cuaron, Michael Bay, and Patty Jenkins recently signed an open letter pleading with the congress to help bail out cinemas hit by the crisis.

    The ‘Trainspotting’ actor is expected to start filming his ‘Star Wars’ spin-off series next year following a delay due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

    AceShowbiz – Ewan McGregor has confirmed he’s to start filming his “Obi Wan Kenobi Star Wars” spin-off series in March (21).
    The British actor was originally due to reprise his role as a younger version of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi mentor from the original “Star Wars” movie, one he played in the prequel films, for a Disney+ series this year (20).
    The show was pushed back until 2021 in January and, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Ewan has revealed filming is now scheduled to begin in March.

    “It is the Obi Wan Kenobi story I suppose – it’s not just me in it, but there will certainly be a lot of me!” he told U.K. chat show host Graham Norton of the series.
    “I’m wracking my brains about what I’m meant to say and what I can’t say about it. What I can say is that we start filming in March next year.”
    Asked about how he felt taking over the role from Alec Guinness, who played the character in “Star Wars: A New Hope” – the film that kicked off the beloved science-fiction franchise in 1977 – the “Trainspotting” actor said he had studied Alec’s work before appearing in the prequels.
    “I am a huge fan and had a great time studying him through his early films,” the 49-year-old explained. “It is a fun thing to try and imagine him as a young guy. I am getting much closer in age to him so it will be my challenge to try and meet him somewhere.”

    Wallen had been due to make his performance debut on the iconic New York-based comedy series on Saturday (10Oct20), but hit headlines at the beginning of the week after social media footage emerged of the maskless musician partying with fans and kissing random girls following a University of Alabama football game on 3 October.
    His inability to follow COVID-19 safety protocols ahead of the in-studio taping cost him the coveted “SNL” gig, prompting Wallen to issue a public apology for his behaviour in an emotional video on Wednesday.

    However, “SNL” creator and producer Michaels isn’t holding the 27 year old’s mistake against him, and has promised to invite him back to perform at another time.
    Reflecting on his decision to drop Wallen from this weekend’s line-up, Michaels told U.S. breakfast show Today, “He isn’t the first country singer, or the first person from rock and roll who partied after a big, in that case a football game, or a concert, but we’re just living in different times and everything’s scrutinised.”
    Rocker Jack White has been recruited to serve as the musical guest on Saturday, when comedian Bill Burr will host.
    After “At Home” edition during lockdown earlier this year, the NBC sketch show returns to studio this new season with Chris Rock as a host and Megan Thee Stallion as a musical guest on the first episode. Jim Carrey is enlisted to play Joe Biden, Maya Rudolph is back as Kamala Harris, and Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump.

    AceShowbiz – Sacha Baron Cohen was “fortunate to make it out in one piece” after filming a stunt for his forthcoming “Borat” sequel at a far-right political rally.
    The actor was spotted earlier this year performing a provocative song about coronavirus, Hillary Clinton, and the “fake news media” at the gathering, with initial speculation suggesting he was recording for a new series of sketch show “Who Is America?”
    However, it was later confirmed the funnyman is reprising his iconic Kazakh newsman character, Borat, in a new sequel. And in a new op-ed for Time magazine, warning Americans about misinformation ahead of the U.S. presidential election, Cohen reveals he was rushed to a getaway vehicle after capturing the scene, only for an “angry crowd” to block the escape route, banging on the vehicle.
    He writes, “Under my overalls, I was wearing a bulletproof vest, but it felt inadequate with some people outside toting semiautomatic weapons.”

    Borat Subsequent Moviefilm will see the actor don various disguises as the hapless reporter attempts to evade those who recognise him from his previous visit to the USA.
    He also pulls off a surprise prank on U.S. Vice President Mike Pence by dressing up as American leader Donald Trump and attending an official event. In the new trailer for the film, Cohen is captured, in character, yelling “I brought a girl for you!” from the crowd, while carrying a woman over his shoulder, and in disguise as Trump during Pence’s speech at the event.
    Several outlets reported the incident back in February, noting police officers were called to remove the prankster from the Maryland event, but no one realised it was Cohen playing Borat.
    “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” will premiere on the Hulu streaming platform on 23 October (20).

    AceShowbiz – Jessica Chastain has spoken out in support of Penelope Cruz following criticism of her casting as a Colombian spy in their new movie “The 355”.
    In an article published by Variety, the film was called out for casting a Spanish actress in the role of a Latina woman, with writer Clayton Davis insisting it’s “clear that executives and agents put no effort into scouring the world to find a more appropriate choice, or to be even more daring, an actual Colombian actress to play Graciela.”
    However, Jessica, who is also a producer on the movie, released a statement to the outlet, explaining the role was originally conceived as being Brazilian but Penelope did not feel comfortable playing a character from Brazil.

    “When I had the idea of making this film, we didn’t have a script or financing,” Jessica said. “Penelope was incredibly helpful in this regard. After conversations with our consultant, I brought her the idea that she could play a fervent agent from Brazil. She mentioned that it wouldn’t be right for her to play a character from Brazil, as the majority language is Portuguese.”
    She added, “I realised that Colombia has a rich ethnic heritage, with approximately 80 per cent of the population having European or mixed European heritage. We settled on a character who is a descendant from the colonisation of Spain in the New World.”
    “I understand that we are continuing to evolve how we think in terms of our cultural beliefs,” Jessica stated. “When making this film, I wanted to move beyond nationalism and understand the international common thread that connects us all. At the end of the day, it wasn’t important where the characters came from, but that they all come together to form an alliance beyond borders.”
    The 355, also starring Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz, Diane Kruger, Fan Bingbing, Sebastian Stan, and Edgar Ramirez, is slated for a January 2021 release.

She has the show’s pro dancer Gleb Savchenko as her partner and it seems his strict Russian nature leads to their “first fight,” four weeks after working together.
    Detailing the matter on an Instagram post Thursday, October 8, the “Selling Sunset” star wrote, “Ok full disclosure, @glebsavchenkoofficial and I had our first fight-ha!” She posted a picture of her holding a gorgeous flower bouquet which apparently was from Gleb.
    “If apologies look like THIS, I guess it’s not so bad!!” she went on saying. “We both care so much and I love the passion he brings to what he does. We are working on me picking up some of his strict Russian nature, and I am softening him up with a little southern charm. Finding the balance landed us here and I truly think this could be our best week yet.”

    Gleb commented on the post with heart emojies. Singer Jana Kramer, who was partnered with Gleb when she appeared on ABC’s dancing competition back in 2016, also chimed in the comment section, writing, “Hahahaha get ready girl!!!”
    Prior to this, the estranged wife of Justin Hartley talked about her friendship with Gleb. “He is the absolute best. I absolutely love him. He is so patient and he’s just … he knows how to push me, but not in a way that’s intimidating, and I think that that is a little bit what I was scared of working with a pro,” she gushed over him. “I just felt there’s a lot of intimidation there with feeling like they’re going to be disappointed when they find out they were paired with you, because there are some people that are already so talented.”

    Of the way he teaches her dancing, Chrishell said, “He’s had me do all these exercises where there are so many times I kept trying to do something and he’s like, ‘You have to wait for me. You don’t move unless I move.’ He has all of these different exercises that are really focused on that, where it’s like, just let him do all the work and you have to stay back and listen. It’s a really bonding experience doing that with somebody.”
    The actress and reality star added, “At this point I just feel so close to him and I feel like he’s somebody I’m going to be friends with for the rest of my life, for sure.”

    AceShowbiz – Former Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge is set to make his feature directorial debut with sci-fi movie “Monsters of California”.
    The film, based on a script he co-wrote with Ian Miller, will star “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actor Richard Kind, Casper Van Dien and Sports Illustrated model Camille Kostek.

    According to Deadline, the big screen project is a coming-of-age tale about a group of teens investigating a series of mysterious events.

    Shooting has already begun on the film, which will feature original music from DeLonge. He previously stepped behind the camera for the 2014 short film “Poet Anderson”, which won Best Animated Short Film at the Toronto International Short Film Festival.
    The musician has also become known for his passion for Unidentified Flying Objects, and he was previously named UFO Researcher of the Year. Tom has also produced History’s “Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation” and earlier this year he unveiled videos he took in 2017 that allegedly capture alien life forms.
    DeLonge’s own passion for the sci-fi genre and his experiences growing up will play a role in the story.
    “I have been playing this story in my dreams for decades,” said DeLonge in a statement. “It represents all aspects of my strange existence, including growing up in San Diego suburbia as a disaffected teenage skateboarder. I had a tight tribe of friends who never missed an opportunity to p**s people off and made me laugh so hard I would cry (sic).”
    “The camaraderie, curiosity, angst and irreverence is everything that led me to Blink-182 and this story is layered with my obsession with the tightly blurred lines between science and science fiction.”

    His mother then adds, “You are only concerned about your happiness. What about your parents’ happiness?” To that, Sumit hits back, “I got married thinking of your happiness!     “We didn’t know that she’d turn out to be like this,” Sumit’s mother says while in tears. “We thought we’d just adjust.”
    “Mummy, I was dying,” Sumit reveals, prompting his mother to admit to making “a mistake,” adding, “We did everything for you. We let her go.”
    Visibly upset, Sumit shares, “In those 2.5 years, I had stopped sharing my thoughts with my own parents. … You are so sad because you are so obsessed with what random people in society are saying, but because of that, I was the one who was suffering.” He continues, “I told you three times that I wanted to commit suicide.”
    Sumit’s father appears to be regretting his reaction to the whole thing. “The mistake was mine,” he admits in a confessional interview. “I tried to make him marry. But, separating from the bad marriage and having relations with a lady more than double of his age. … It’s a different thing.”
