    ITV

The ‘All About That Bass’ hitmaker decides to give up her seat on the judging panel of the U.K. singing competition as she’s expecting her first child with husband Daryl Sabara.
    Oct 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Meghan Trainor is stepping down as a coach on “The Voice UK” after confirming she is pregnant with her first child.
The “All About That Bass” singer, 26, confirmed the happy news that she is expecting with husband Daryl Sabara, 28, on Wednesday (07Oct20), admitting the pair are “so excited we couldn’t sleep” before sharing their joy on America’s “Today” show.
While the impending arrival has brought happiness to the couple, it’s bad news for fans of the hit TV talent contest, after the star confirmed she won’t be returning to her big red chair alongside Tom Jones, will.i.am, and Olly Murs for its forthcoming 10th season.
She said, “I had such a great time being a Coach on the Voice UK and spending time with everyone! I wish I could come back for Season 10, but I’m taking time to start my family and want to be really safe with the current travel restrictions.”

“I’ll be missing you all very much and hope to see you soon,” added Meghan, who is due to release her new holiday album, “A Very Trainor Christmas”, on 30 October (20).
A spokesperson for “The Voice U.K.” commented, “Huge congratulations to Meghan on the wonderful news she is expecting her first child. Meghan has been a fantastic coach on The Voice UK and we look forward to seeing Meghan return for the end of Series 9, coming soon to ITV.”
“Everyone at The Voice UK and ITV would like to wish Meghan the very best in 2021 and beyond.”
Meghan will be seen on-screen in the semi-final and final of series nine of the show, which was postponed earlier this year due to Covid-19 restrictions. She will join virtually from Los Angeles with the episodes airing later this month (Oct20) on U.K. network ITV.

  • Katy Perry Finds It Tough to Leave Baby Daisy as She Returns as Judge on 'American Idol'

    WENN

The ‘Smile’ singer admits to struggling being apart from her baby daughter as she is back to work as one of the judges on the upcoming season of the television singing competition.
    Oct 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Katy Perry found leaving newborn daughter Daisy home tough as she returned to work on the forthcoming season of “American Idol”.
The “Roar” star welcomed baby Daisy Dove with fiance Orlando Bloom in August (20) and, just over a month later, she’s already back to work on the U.S. TV talent show.
Speaking about her return to the small screen in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Katy admitted she struggled to leave Daisy and her new mum bubble behind.
“It’s amazing. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and for this job, and to be able to continue to inspire other people to go after their dreams,” she said.

“I mean, my life just feels very full and whole. And you know, it’s hard a little bit these first couple of days away and not being able to be there.”
However, Katy needn’t worry, as Orlando is well-versed in parenthood – given that he’s dad to nine-year-old son with ex-wife Miranda Kerr – and he’s keeping his wife-to-be updated by sending pictures as she gets busy at work.
“Daddy’s doing a great job. Daddy has stepped in,” she smiled. “I’ve seen the Bjorn (baby carrier) on him, I’ve seen him with the bottle, I’ve seen all the pictures. It’s all good.”
Katy previously slammed the “popular misconception” that “being a mom isn’t a full time job.” She explained on Twitter, “When a mom finally goes back to work (whatever profession they do) it’s not like they been coming from months of ‘time off…’ she’s coming from a full time job… of being a mom, lol.”
She urged fans to “call your mom and tell her you love and appreciate her and advocate for paid family leave,” before clarifying, “I love my job.”

  • Kristen Stewart Feels 'Intimidated as Hell' as She's Learning Princess Diana's Accent for New Movie

    InStyle Magazine/Kensington Palace

The former ‘Twilight’ actress is more than a little ‘intimidated’ as she’s doing everything she can to master Princess Diana’s distinct lilt for the upcoming ‘Spencer’.
    Oct 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kristen Stewart is more than a little “intimidated” about mastering the late Princess Diana’s accent for new movie “Spencer”.
It was revealed earlier this year (20) that the former “Twilight” star would be taking on the role of the royal in the film – with the announcement dividing opinion among fans.
While many thought it should have gone to a British actress, American star Kristen has assured critics that she’s doing everything she can to master Diana’s English lilt.
“The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it’s so, so distinct and particular,” she told InStyle magazine. “I’m working on it now and already have my dialect coach.”

Kristen added that she hasn’t been “this excited about playing a part… in so long” and, ahead of shooting, she’s researching the tragic ex-wife of Britain’s Prince Charles as much as she can to make sure she does her justice on the silver screen.
“In terms of research, I’ve gotten through two and a half biographies, and I’m finishing all the material before I actually go make the movie,” she continued.
“It’s one of the saddest stories to exist ever, and I don’t want to just play Diana – I want to know her implicitly.”
The film, directed by Pablo Larrain (“Jackie”, “Neruda”) and written by “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight, imagines a weekend in the early 1990s when Prince Charles’ wife decided her marriage to the heir to the throne wasn’t working.

  • Whoopi Goldberg 'Working Diligently' to Get 'Sister Act' Cast Back for Third Movie

    Touchstone Pictures

Giving an update on the long-awaited threequel, the ‘View’ moderator says that ‘Sister 3′ may be finally happening after years of rejection from movie execs.
    Oct 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Fans’ wish for a third “Sister Act” movie may soon come true. As part of the musical comedy film who has been long campaigning for “Sister Act 3”, Whoopi Goldberg has given a positive update on the long-awaited threequel.
During a virtual appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” on Tuesday, October 6, the actress/comedian revealed that a third “Sister Act” movie is in the works. “We’re working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back,” she told the show’s host James Corden.
Of why the third installment of the popular comedy films didn’t come a lot sooner, Goldberg explained, “For a long time they kept saying no one wanted to see it.” But those movie execs have apparently changed their minds as the 64-year-old added, “… and then quite recently it turns out that may not be true, people might want to see it.”

Goldberg has in the past made no secret of her interest to return for a third “Sister Act” movie. In 2019, “The View” moderator said on the ABC talk show that she’s ready to step into the iconic nun costume, but her idea has been met with rejection. “people saying ‘nobody wants to see it, it’s dated, it’s old,’ ” she told her co-hosts.
Co-host Meghan McCain disagreed with that opinion, saying, “There’s no way. Everybody loves that movie, all generations.” Goldberg replied, “It’s true.”
Goldberg plays Deloris Van Cartier, a lounge singer who’s forced to join a convent and changes her name into Sister Mary Clarence after being placed in a witness protection program, in the original 1992 movie. The film was a box office success, grossing $231.6 million worldwide.
She reprised the role in the 1993 sequel, “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit”, in which her character leads a choir for Catholic students at a struggling school. It, however, failed to repeat the success of the first movie, grossing $57 million in the United States against a $38 million budget.

  • 'DWTS' Executive Producer Defends Host Tyra Banks Following Major Mishap

    Instagram

The ABC show’s judge Bruno Tonioli also defends the host, praising the supermodel and saying that ‘she was really good because she took control of the situation.’
    Oct 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tyra Banks’ hosting gig on “Dancing with the Stars” doesn’t really go smooth. After making some flubs in previous episodes, the supermodel experienced major “technical error” in the Monday, October 5 episode of the long-running TV show.
In the episode, Tyra made a mistake while announcing the bottom two in the final moments. Of the flub, executive producer Andrew Llinares praised the new host for dealing with the on-air drama “amazingly.” Llinares added, “I just want to be really clear, this was not Tyra’s fault. It was a behind-the-scenes issue.”
“I was in the control room when this happened. The votes and results coming in is one of the most dramatic moments in the show, but it was a little more dramatic than we were hoping for last night, in a very unexpected way,” he went on saying. “There was a technical issue as the actual votes were coming in last night. What happened was, Tyra actually had the wrong names on her card.”
“I think she did an amazing job rectifying what happened live on the show. It’s not an easy thing to do, what she did,” he then gushed over Tyra. “There’s a lot of undo criticism, I think, around Tyra. I just think she’s doing an amazing job on this show. And I could not be more thrilled with the way that she dealt with this moment on the show.”
Llinares also claimed that they would be “having meetings today with everybody that’s involved in our voting to make sure that nothing like this happens again.”

Judge Bruno Tonioli also defended the host. “It’s live television, things like this happen, especially with information coming in from all over the country, voting and calculating in such a small amount of time,” he shared to Entertainment Tonight. Calling Tyra “brilliant,” he added, “She was really good because she took control of the situation.”
Of fans’ outcry to bring back former co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, Bruno urged people to “let [Tyra] do it her way.” He continued, “It’s a bit tiring, all the negativity, in not even giving people a chance. Just let her be who she is. It’s great to work with her.”
He added, “We’re in a world that always focuses on the negative and I found that quite upsetting. You can’t compare apples to pears, you know? You get different things, and you have to allow someone to do things their own way.”
Tyra also apologized for the error. Writing on Twitter on Monday, she said, “Wowzers. Live TV. Wrong name on cards. So challenging to deal with moments like these. But we power through.”
That night, Tyra initially announced that Monica Aldama and her pro partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy were safe, only to retract it as the pair were actually in the bottom two alongside Anne Heche and Keo Motsepe, who were eliminated that night. “There’s been an error in our control room, but we’re making it happen,” the host explained. “This is live TV, right? This is the craziness of live TV.”

  • Bill Cosby Fired Lisa Bonet From Show For Being Pregnant, Lenny Kravitz Says

    WENN/HRC/Adriana M. Barraza

Writing in his new memoir, the rocker says that ‘The Cosby Show’ producer Debbie Allen called a meeting with both Lisa and Bill, who allegedly wasn’t really happy with Lisa’s baby news.
    Oct 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lenny Kravitz dropped a bombshell in his new memoir titled “Let Love Rule”. The singer-songwriter claimed that his ex-wife Lisa Bonet received an ugly treatment from comedian and actor Bill Cosby just because she’s pregnant back in 1988.
In the book, the rocker recalled the drama between the actress and Bill after it was revealed that she’s expecting a baby. It was when she starred on “The Cosby Show” spin-off “A Different World” where she played a character named Denise Huxtable, a college student.
According to Lenny, the show’s producer Debbie Allen called a meeting with both Lisa and Bill. Bill apparently wasn’t really happy with Lisa’s baby news as he asked Lisa, “You’re here to tell me you’re pregnant, aren’t you?”
“Lisa Bonet is pregnant, but Denise Huxtable is not,” Bill allegedly announced at the time before kicking her out from the show after the first season. She was only allowed to return to “The Cosby Show” after she gave birth to daughter Zoe Kravitz.

He went on saying, “From then on, her relationship with Bill was tense and ultimately untenable.” Lisa eventually left “The Cosby Show” for good in 1991.
In the book, Lenny reflected on his past romance with Lisa. After seeing her on the cover of a magazine, he eventually met up with her at a New Edition concert where he told her, “I like your hair.” Of the pickup line, Lenny shared, “It was a lame line, a stupid line, one of the worst lines in the history of bad lines.”
“In a moment, everything changed,” he recalled. “We started kissing … That night I moved into Lisa’s bedroom. Destiny had led us here. With every passing hour, our love blossomed. Premonition turned to prophecy. Prophecy turned to ecstasy.”
He wrote that they conceived Zoe on a beach in the Bahamas. “We didn’t need a thing. We didn’t need clothes. We bathed in the ocean. We made love,” so he said.

  • Mike Pence FlyGate During VP Debate Sparks 'Ant-Man' Jokes

People are losing it after a fly lands on the vice president’s head and stays there for two minutes, with Marvel fans joking that Paul Rudd’s superhero character crashes the debate.
    Oct 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mike Pence has become the butt of jokes on Twitter after a fly landed on his head during Vice Presidential Debate with Kamala Harris on Wednesday, October 7. The fly sat atop the vice president’s perfectly coiffed hair for two minutes and he didn’t seem to notice it.
The unfortunate situation has become one of the most-talked about things on the blue-bird app, with #flygate and “Flies” becoming trending topics on Wednesday night. Some of social media users posted memes and jokes, while Marvel fans couldn’t help bringing up “Ant-Man” in the discussion.
Comic book geeks likened the fly on Pence’s head to Paul Rudd’s superhero character, suggesting that Scott Lang crashed the debate. “Ant-Man stuck that superhero landing on Pence’s head #VPDebate,” one tweeted.
“Is that Spider-Man or Ant-Man on Pence’s head? #VPDebate,” another asked. A third user asked for confirmation from Chris Evans or Mark Ruffalo, tweeting, “Question ? Is Ant Man attacking Mike Pence’s head? Can you confirm @ChrisEvans or @MarkRuffalo since I am unable to reach Paul Rudd.”

“Maybe it’s Ant-Man on a secret mission,” a fourth person joked. Another suggested that Fly Man should be a character in the next Marvel movie, “Marvel, we have Fly Man! Available for the role on January 20, 2021.” Another similarly wrote, “The true MVP of the #VPDebate @Marvel we have found our next superhero.”
Some others, meanwhile, want Jeff Goldblum to play the fly on Pence’s head on “Saturday Night Live”. “LORNE MICHAELS… I IMPLORE YOU… PLEASE… GET JEFF GOLDBLUM TO PLAY THE FLY ON @NBCSNL THIS WEEKEND!!! #VPDebate,” one pleaded.
“I hope SNL gets Jeff Goldblum to play the fly on Pence’s head,” another echoed the sentiment. “On SNL, Jeff Goldblum should play the fly,” wrote another, while someone else thinks that Rudd should reprise his “Ant-Man” role “to play the fly challenge” on “SNL”.
While neither Marvel stars nor “SNL” have reacted to the chatter, the FlyGate has attracted the attention of at least one celebrity, comedian Kathy Griffin, who tweeted, “Pence finding out about #FlyGate is going to be delicious. Mother is going to have to rock him like a goddamn baby all night.”

  • 'SNL' Resorts to Paid Audience Amid Covid-19 Pandemic

The ‘Saturday Night Live’ bosses reveal they paid audience to attend the filming in studio when the sketch show returned for the new season premiere last weekend.
    Oct 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Audience members were paid to attend the filming of last weekend’s (03-04Oct20) season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” (SNL).
According to the New York Times, the audience members, which included some first responders, received $150 (£116) in payment as they exited the Rockefeller Center for participating in the show – which was hosted by Chris Rock with Megan Thee Stallion as the musical guest.
The move comes amid restrictive health and safety regulations in the Big Apple, stipulating that media productions can only have an audience if it’s made up of paid individuals who “work” for the production company.
The guidelines also indicate that the show can only have an audience that’s 25 per cent of its average size and never more than 100 people.

Although show officials have yet to confirm the amount of compensation they paid, Sean Ludwig, who attended filming along with seven friends, confirmed they each received a $150 cheque from Universal Television.
“We had no idea we would be paid before we were handed checks,” he told the New York Times. “We were all very pleasantly surprised.” He added that, before entering the building, he had to take a Covid-19 test and sign health paperwork.
Next, the “SNL” will welcome country music singer Morgan Wallen as a musical guest and “Breaking Bad” actor Bill Burr as a host. Both are first timers on the NBC sketch show.
Wallen recently shared his excitement for the gig. “Doesn’t get much bigger than this when it comes to television,” he gushed. “Thank you @nbcsnl for having a good ole boy and his friends on to sing our stories.”
However, he later came under fire for partying without wearing a face mask ahead of his performance. Many urged “SNL” bosses to drop him to avoid potentially exposing audience, staff, and guest host to Covid-19.
