During the interview, Kim also shares the real reason why she decided to end the reality show after 14 years. “We just need a minute to regroup. You know, we haven’t had a break for fourteen years,” she explains. “We’ve gone in filming a season, then a spin off and I think there’s no other way to say it other than, we just live such big lives. And we have kids now. And they need us. There’s so much going on that, even just for a minute we need a break.”
Kim announced the end of an era via Instagram on Tuesday, September 8, revealing the show, which debuted on E! in 2007, will shut down after two more seasons. Without ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family these past 14 incredible years. This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”

  • 'The Batman' Pushed Back to 2022 Due to 'Dune' Delay

    Warner Bros. Pictures/Legendary Entertainment

Warner Bros. is making more adjustments to its slate after moving Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated remake to the Robert Pattinson-starring superhero movie’s old date.
    Oct 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Another day, another movie is getting a new release date due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that has slowed down the domestic box office, despite the reopening of a number of theaters across the nation. Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” is the latest potential big blockbuster which is delayed after Warner Bros. earlier announced a new date for “Dune”.
As expected, the Robert Pattinson-starring superhero movie is now pushed back to 2022 after it was forced to vacate its old date for the highly-anticipated sci-fi remake from director Denis Villeneuve. “The Batman” is now no longer scheduled to open on October 1, 2021, being pushed back five months to March 4, 2022. “Dune” is taking over “The Batman” old date.
WB has also shifted the dates for other movies, including “The Matrix 4”, which is moved up several months. Initially set for April 1, 2022 release, it is now expected to bow in U.S. theaters on December 22, 2021.
Ezra Miller’s “The Flash”, meanwhile, is moved to November 4, 2022 to give room to a yet-announced film on June 3, 2022. Another secret project from the studio is set for August 5, 2022 release. As for “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”, it has been pushed back from November 2, 2022 to June 2, 2023.

Another superhero adventure film “Black Adam”, which is also based on a DC Comics character, and video game adaptation “Minecraft” have been left dealing with major uncertainty as the studio pulled off the two movies from the December 22, 2021 and March 3, 2022 date respectively.
Other than “Dune”, Warner Bros. says the latest release date shuffle is due to production delays. “The Batman”, for example, suspended production in March after the global pandemic hit the U.K., where it was filmed.
Shooting on the superhero movie resumed in early September after the British government gave the green light for high-end TV and film productions to resume shooting, as soon as employers put coronavirus safety measures in place.
However, the production was put on pause again after only three days because the lead star, Pattinson, tested positive for COVID-19. Filming resumed on September 17, after the British actor was cleared to return.

  • Chris Pratt Slammed for Trivializing Voting to Campaign for His Movie 'Onward'

    WENN/Instar

In a post shared on his Instagram page, the ‘Jurassic World’ actor urges his followers to vote for the Pixar movie at the upcoming People’s Choice Awards instead of mulling over who to choose at the presidential election.
    Oct 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Chris Pratt has come under fire for making “insensitive” joke about voting. Taking time to promote his movie “Onward” which is currently competing for the Family Movie of 2020 at the upcoming People’s Choice Awards, the actor seemed to trivialize voting to urge people to vote for the Pixar movie instead.
“With all that’s going on in the world it is more important than ever that you vote. Just ask any celebrity. They will tell you. Every day. Several times a day. To vote,” he wrote on his Instagram page on Friday, October 2 along with an image of the movie. “But me? I will tell you EXACTLY who to vote for. #onward.”
Joking on how importance his plea was, he added, “The heroes before us did not spill their blood only to have their sacrifices wasted by your apathy. The upcoming 2020 People’s Choice Awards is the most consequential vote in the history of mankind times a million infinity. Vote for #Onward for family movie of the year. Or else. You WILL die. No hyperbole. Click the link in my bio. Let your voice be heard.”

But instead of gaining support for “Onward”, Pratt’s post only garnered him backlash over what people have dubbed a “tone deaf” joke. “Haha what the f**k. This is super insensitive. Read the room. Oh wait you did and decided to mock people. Coooooooollllllll,” one person retorted.

Another remarked, “YIKES. Imagine the amount of privilege one person can have to write this tone deaf post.” A third one commented, “I wish I found this funny.” A fourth person blasted Pratt on Twitter, “Chris Pratt said the election does not concern me because I am a white privileged man, instead vote for my movie so I can get more awards.”
“I’m not really sure it’s funny to tell people to vote for your animated movie while the world is how it is. Comes off as privileged and totally tone deaf,” another added. Someone else claimed, “And Chris Pratt is tasteless yet again.”
Some others, however, have come to Pratt’s defense, with one justifying, “He is just trying to make a light hearted joke because times ar (sic) tough right now. He has been in 0 scandals. And is a sweet heart of a person. This movie is so sweet and so touching, so let him be proud. He is making a joke… it’s comedy… shut up.”
Another blamed people for being overly “sensitive.” “He’s not mocking the voting process, he’s mocking celebrities. Y’all are too sensitive,” read the comment. Someone else similarly wrote, “What Chris Pratt said is legitimately funny, y’all are just easily angered.”
Pratt has not removed the post in question and has not responded to the backlash.

  • Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune' Remake Gets 10-Month Delay for Its Release

    Legendary Entertainment

This postponement comes after officials at Warner Bros. once again rescheduled the premiere of ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, pushing it from early October 2020 to Christmas Day.
    Oct 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – The release of director Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated “Dune” remake has been bumped to October 2021.
Film fans had been hoping to check out the sci-fi blockbuster in theatres just before Christmas (20), but with coronavirus cases on the rise again and movie theatres in a number of key U.S. markets still shuttered, studio officials at Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have chosen to delay Dune’s debut by 10 months.
It will now open on 1 October (21).

The postponement was expected by industry experts after Warner Bros. bosses once again rescheduled the premiere of “Wonder Woman 1984”, recently pushing it from early October to Christmas Day, December 25.
“Dune” new launch currently clashes with another Warner release as “The Batman” is also expected to hit theatres on the same day, suggesting Robert Pattinson’s first outing as the Caped Crusader could soon be forced to fly to another date.
“Dune” is the latest blockbuster to have its release reshuffled – last week (October 02), the latest James Bond movie, “No Time to Die”, was also moved from late November to April, prompting Regal theatre chain owners to close down its locations across the U.S. just weeks after many reopened in August.
Due to the clash with the new date of “No Time to Die”, the release of the ninth “Fast and Furious” movie has been subsequently been moved as well. “F9”, which was initially set to race to theaters over the 2021 Easter weekend, has been pushed back to the Memorial Day weekend in May.

  • 'Glow' Creators Blame COVID-19 for Cancellation of Season 4

    Netflix/Erica Parise

The Alison Brie-starring female wrestling dramedy was reportedly three weeks into filming the final season when production got suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
    Oct 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Alison Brie’s hit female wrestling dramedy “GLOW” has been knocked out after three seasons by COVID-19.
Netflix bosses have reversed a renewal decision for a fourth and final season of the show, which also featured Betty Gilpin and Marc Maron.
“COVID has killed actual humans. It’s a national tragedy and should be our focus. COVID also apparently took down our show,” series creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch said in a statement to Deadline.
“Netflix has decided not to finish filming the final season of GLOW. We were handed the creative freedom to make a complicated comedy about women and tell their stories. And wrestle. And now that’s gone. There’s a lot of s**tty things happening in the world that are much bigger than this right now. But it still sucks that we don’t get to see these 15 women in a frame together again.”

“We’ll miss our cast of weirdo clowns and our heroic crew. It was the best job,” Flahive and Mensch add.
A Netflix spokesperson claimed to Deadline, “We’ve made the difficult decision not to do a fourth season of GLOW due to COVID, which makes shooting this physically intimate show with its large ensemble cast especially challenging.”
The spokesperson added, “We are so grateful to creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, Jenji Kohan and all the writers, cast and crew for sharing this story about the incredible women of GLOW with us and the world.”
According to the outlet, “GLOW” was three weeks into filming its fourth season when production was suspended in mid-March amid the pandemic.

  • Gabrielle Union Insists 'America's Got Talent' Dispute Is Not Publicity Stunt

    Marie Claire Magazine/Djeneba Aduayom

The former judge of the television talent show slams suggestions that her racism and misconduct accusations against the show following her exit were a calculated scheme to get public attention.
    Oct 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – Gabrielle Union has slammed speculation that her decision to bring forward allegations of racism and misconduct on the set of “America’s Got Talent” was a publicity stunt.
The actress was fired from her judging role on the competition show last year (19) after just one season, and claimed she was let go after complaining about behind-the-scenes comments and experiences.
Union and NBC bosses met up in December to thrash things out and the TV chiefs agreed to conduct an investigation, following which they declared they had uncovered no wrongdoing and had closed the case.
While they’ve come to an “amicable resolution” with the actress, the “L.A.’s Finest” star tells Marie Claire magazine producers gave her “excessive notes” about her appearance and deemed her hairstyles “too black,” and insists, “I should be able to exist however the f**k I want to exist.”

      See also…

“Because if you’re hiring Gabrielle Union for my talent, then my talent is going to come out of my body in every way, shape, and incarnation that I can imagine,” she adds. “You’re getting more bang for your buck the more you allow me to exist as I see fit.”

Union goes on to admit she was disappointed that high-profile black NBC talent, like Al Roker and Terry Crews, didn’t publicly support her, and addresses skeptics who believe her battle with NBC was all about publicity and retribution for being fired.
“That very sentiment is how all of this has been allowed to go on for centuries,” she explains. “That kind of gaslighting, I categorically reject. You are not going to gaslight me into minimising my trauma, which is exactly what allows this to continue on for the next person.”
After an investigation into Union’s dismissal, NBC bosses insisted they said uncovered no wrongdoing, but added in a statement to the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six, “NBC Entertainment appreciates the important concerns raised by Gabrielle Union and remains committed to ensuring an inclusive and supportive working environment where people of all backgrounds can be treated with respect.”
