Alicia Vikander is grateful to her co-star Julianne Moore for standing up for her on the movie set when a crew member made an inappropriate comment about her.
    Oct 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Alicia Vikander will always be indebted to fellow Oscar winner Julianne Moore for sticking up for her when a crew member made an inappropriate comment on the set of their 2014 film “Seventh Son”.
The two actresses, who have teamed up again in new film “The Glorias”, were filming a scene when Moore overheard something that was said off-set and shut down the shoot to address the man.
Without going into details about what was said, Vikander admits she was shocked when her castmate threatened to quit the film.

“She kind of stopped the shoot and just turned to the person who had made the comment and said, ‘If you ever say something like that again, I’m gonna walk straight out of here and not come back.’ That kind of put everything straight.”
Now she’s an Oscar winner who can command top billing on a film set, Alicia plans on following Moore’s example and standing up for what she believes in.
“Now I’m older, I’m trying really to remember that,” she tells “Good Morning America”. “When you are secure in your position and you can do it, it’s very important to raise your voice whenever you can.”
Helmed by Tony-winning director Julie Taymor, “The Glorias” revolves around the life and legacy of Gloria Steinem. Alicia Vikander plays a young version of the activist while Julianne Moore portrays the icon in her older years. The movie is also supported by Bette Midler and Janelle Monae.

  • Harry Styles Among Final Two Candidates for New James Bond

    WENN

The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ hitmaker is reportedly one of the two actors seriously considered to replace Daniel Craig as a new 007 agent after the release of ‘No Time to Die’.
    Oct 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Harry Styles has reportedly met with James Bond bosses to discuss taking over the iconic role.
Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007, “No Time to Die”, is now scheduled for release on 2 April 2021, after multiple delays amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. However, that’s not stopping bosses looking to the future of the franchise.
Sources tell British tabloid The Sun the singer, 26, has met with film bosses about replacing Craig as 007 after betting was suspended on Tom Hardy playing the secret service agent.
“Harry is deadly serious. He has had a series of high-level meetings about becoming 007. Harry believes he is the final two,” the insider says. “Harry is a new age British man… he’s confident in his own skin and making him Bond would signal the franchise changing with the times.”

WENN has reached out to representatives for the former One Direction star for comment.
Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (“Beasts of No Nation”), the new movie is supported by the likes of Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, and Ralph Fiennes.
The movie was originally set for May release before it’s pushed back to November 12 due to pandemic. While many films turned to streaming services because of the worldwide health crisis, producers are determined to launch “No Time to Die” in theaters, just like Christopher Nolan’s big-budgeted “Tenet”.
“If it has to wait till next year then so be it,” said a source close to the production. “There are hundreds of millions of dollars involved here. Release it when audiences feel safe to return. But it’s a nerve-racking call.”

The executives and producers of both major releases are hoping more cinemas will be open when the blockbusters drop. At present theatres in New York and Los Angeles remain closed due to the pandemic and theatres in the U.K. face a possible lockdown in the coming weeks.
The upcoming Bond movie was initially scheduled for release in April of this year. Due to the spread of COVID-19, in March, MGM and Eon Productions announced that after “thorough evaluation of the global theatrical marketplace” they had postponed the release of “No Time to Die” until 12 November 2020 in the United Kingdom and 25 November 2020 in the United States. The U.S. release date was later brought forward by five days to 20 November 2020.

  • Sara Evans: I Would Like to Compete on 'Dancing With the Stars' Again

    WENN/Judy Eddy

The ‘Slow Me Down’ singer was paired with professional dancer Tony Dovolani for the dancing competition back in 2006, but quit the show when her marriage to Craig Schelske fell apart.
    Oct 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Country singer Sara Evans is desperate to quickstep back to the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom, because she has always regretted having to quit the show.
The star was paired with professional dancer Tony Dovolani for the U.S. TV dancing competition back in 2006, but the gig clashed with a really difficult time in her personal life, and she was forced to waltz off the program early.
Now the “Slow Me Down” singer tells “The Talk” she’d love to strap on her dancing shoes again for a redo.
” ‘Dancing with the Stars’ was the most amazing experience of my life…,” she smiles. “I had so much fun. I was the only mum on our season. And so, I had three babies, we moved to Beverly Hills together, and you know, just poured my whole life into doing the show. It was so much fun.”

But while she was loving her time on the dancefloor, Sara’s marriage to her kids’ father, musician Craig Schelske, fell apart, and she found herself having to deal with nasty legal proceedings, as well as the stress of the show.
“I started going through a divorce in the middle of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and something traumatic happened,” she adds.
“We were set to go do the group dance the next day, and I was going to have to leave the kids and be gone, like, 15 hours a day and I just couldn’t do that. I knew that the kids needed me. So, yeah, I had to quit. It was so sad and I really want to come back. I would love to try it again.”
Sara did get another chance at marriage – she tied the knot with former football star Jay Barker in 2008.

  • New Midseason 'RHOP' Trailer Teases Another Major Fight

    Bravo

The new promo teases that Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels’ altercation is only the beginning as it hints that another major fight is coming between the ladies.
    Oct 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – When people think that the physical altercation between Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels is the biggest fight in season 5 of “The Real Housewives of Potomac”, a new midseason promo teases that it’s only the beginning. The new clip hints that another major fight is coming between the ladies.
It opens with the Housewives enjoying a lavish trip to Portugal. They can be seen pulling pranks on one another before things get heated as it glimpses the aftermath of Candiace and Monique’s physical fight.
Cast member Ashley Darby tells Candiace and Robyn Dixon that Monique asks her “to write a statement.” Robyn then chimes in, “You wrote a statement as revenge towards Candiace,” before Candiace responded, “F**k you, Ashley.” Elsewhere in the trailer, Ashley can be seen yelling, “Monique has no self-control, but what do you have?”

Some people, including Ashley and Candiace’s husbands, Michael Darby and Chris Bassett, are later seen arguing with each other. Concluding the promo is Gizelle Bryant who says, “Potomac don’t stop, can’t stop, won’t stop.”
Candiace and Monique’s fight, which was shown earlier in the current season of the Bravo reality, was not only traumatic for the two but also other Housewives who were present at the scene. “When I watched it, my stomach just turned,” Robyn said of the footage of the fight in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I was so mortified.”
“Watching it, to be honest, it was … not as bad as it was in the moment,” she admitted. “When you see stuff like that, it makes it harder for people to feel sorry for Candiace in that moment, because it’s almost like she was waiting for Monique to lose her cool. Monique lost her cool and Candiace took the opportunity to really, like, just make it worse.”
“The Real Housewives of Potomac” airs Sunday at 9 P.M. on Bravo.

He wrote in the caption, “Tell Spidey let’s run it back!… super excited to [be] part of the new marvel Spider-Man new installment…”

The Hollywood Reporter earlier reported that Foxx was in “final talks” to return as Electro in the yet-to-be-titled “Spider-Man 3”. Marvel, which has teamed up with Sony for the previous two “Spider-Man” movies, has not confirmed the news, which was likely why Foxx deleted the post because it was supposed to be still kept under wraps.
Jon Watts, who directed “Far From Home”, is board to return behind the lens for the next installment. Holland is bound to return as the titular superhero, with many of the supporting cast members, including Zendaya Coleman, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori, also being expected to reprise their roles when the camera starts to roll in Atlanta this fall. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing.
The third movie has been scheduled for a December 17, 2021 release, but fans can expect a delay amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Previously, the latest Spider-Man movies hinted at its shared universe with previous films by bringing back J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, the character he played in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy starring Tobey Maguire, in “Far From Home”. “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”, meanwhile, starred Andrew Garfield in the title role.

In the reimagining of Roald Dahl’s beloved story by Rob Zemeckis, Hathaway plays the Grand High Witch who comes to a rural town to carry out her nefarious plans.
    Oct 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – The first official trailer of “The Witches” has arrived to give a tease of the Grand High Witch’s menacing plans. In Rob Zemeckis’ take on Roald Dahl’s 1983 novel of the same name, Anne Hathaway plays the wicked witch who hates children.
The trailer opens with glimpses of the life of a young boy (Jahzir Kadeem Bruno), who lives with his grandma (Octavia Spencer) after his parents passed away. Unfortunately, his seemingly normal life is about to be ruined by the arrival of Grand High Witch and her fellow witches to the town.
Using a potion, the Grand High Witch turns children into mice. As The Boy among those falling victims to the witch’s spell, the tough but loving grandmother will stop at nothing to foil the witches’ evil plans.

According to the official description of the movie, “reimagining Dahl’s beloved story for a modern audience, Zemeckis’s visually innovative film tells the darkly humorous and heartwarming tale of a young orphaned boy who, in late 1967, goes to live with his loving Grandma in the rural Alabama town of Demopolis. As the boy and his grandmother encounter some deceptively glamorous but thoroughly diabolical witches, she wisely whisks our young hero away to an opulent seaside resort. Regrettably, they arrive at precisely the same time that the world’s Grand High Witch has gathered her fellow cronies from around the globe-undercover-to carry out her nefarious plans.”
Based on the book by Dahl, the screenplay is written by Zemeckis with Kenya Barris and Guillermo del Toro. Zemeckis is also producing, alongside Jack Rapke, del Toro, Alfonso Cuaron and Luke Kelly. Serving as executive producers are Jacqueline Levine, Marianne Jenkins, Michael Siegel, Gideon Simeloff and Cate Adams.
Joining the cast are Stanley Tucci as Mr. Stringer, the hotel manager who unwittingly hosts the witches’ convention, Chris Rock as the Narrator, Kristin Chenoweth as a Mouse, Charles Edwards as Mr. Jenkins, and Morgana Robinson as Mrs. Jenkins among others.
The movie was originally scheduled for a theatrical release this month, but was later pulled from schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Warner Bros. has now announced that it will head straight to HBO Max on October 22 in the United States, just in time for Halloween. The film will head into theatres internationally beginning October 28.

  • Rashida Jones Will No Longer Tolerate Sexism in Hollywood as She Criticizes Pixar

    WENN

The ‘Parks and recreation’ actress vows to speak up against misconduct by Hollywood men as she claims Pixar’s works came from ‘deep, systemic intolerance.’
    Oct 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rashida Jones will no longer accept Hollywood men making her uncomfortable with their sexism.
The “Parks and Recreation” star, 44, has been made to feel uncomfortable at work, but previously accepted such behaviour as normal.
Now, she insists she’ll no longer put up with similar behaviour, as she vows to speak up and challenge authority.
“I think, like so many women in Hollywood, you grow to accept a level of discomfort around work, and especially with men, that is not OK,” she tells The Guardian.

      See also…

“We just accept that that’s the way the business is and that there is something inherently sexist in Hollywood going back to Fatty Arbuckle. I think every actress would say there’s been a time or moment when they didn’t quite feel comfortable.”
“Earlier in my career, I wouldn’t have said anything and I didn’t say anything.”
Explaining her attitude now, she adds, “It’s important for me to challenge my assumptions around authority, and equality, and where I’m ‘allowed’ to speak up and admit that I’m not comfortable in situations.”
Jones was rumoured to have left the cast of “Toy Story 4” due to suffering unwanted advances from Pixar boss John Lasseter – a claim she denied. However, she has nothing good to say about the animation firm, stating its work comes “from deep, systemic intolerance, or top-heavy patriarchy, or top-heavy whiteness, in a way that has informed the things that they’ve made, and the way they hire and promote people.”
Extending her criticism, she continues, “It looks like Pixar is trying to promote more female directors and to have more directors of colour. But, at the same time, it’s appalling that, out of 20-odd movies, one was directed by a woman – and she was fired! (Brenda Chapman, during the making of Brave.) That’s not a mistake; it happens through complacency, and I felt the need to plainly state that. I didn’t want to condone it.”
