    WENN/Instar

The new host for the current season 29 has taken to her TikTok account to address criticism over her minor mistakes in the latest episode of the long-running ABC show.
    Sep 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – It seems like Tyra Banks’ hosting gig on “Dancing with the Stars” isn’t always going smooth. The new host for the current season 29 has taken to her TikTok account to address criticism over her minor mistakes in the latest episode of the long-running ABC show.
“Tonight I hosted the second episode of ‘Dancing with the Stars’… and yeah, it wasn’t perfect,” Tyra said on Tuesday night, September 22 in a video that appeared to be shot in her dressing room. “Yeah, I had a lot of fun but I messed up, I said the wrong words, but I kept, kept going.”
She then compared her mistake to contestant Skai Jackson’s. In the said episode, the 18-year-old Disney star made a fairly significant misstep while dancing a Samba with pro partner Alan Bersten which made her almost fall amid the performance.

“She got back up and she kept going, and because of that she’s here for another week,” the former “America’s Got Talent” said. Sharing the moral message of the blunders, she shared, “So the message is: I messed up this week, Skai messed up this week, but we’re gonna keep on going and going. Forgive yourself when you mess up and keep going.”
This is not the first time for Tyra to face backlash after she took over the hosting duty from Tom Bergeron and his co-host Erin Andrews. Viewers pointed out that Tyra made numerous mistakes including stepping on her lines and even occasionally calling contestants by the wrong names.
Fans of the show were also upset with the firing of Tom and Erin. Addressing the matter, Tyra previously said, “Tom, I respect you so much. What you have done for ‘Dancing With the Stars’, there’s a reason why it is a successful show. Yes, amazing producers, yes, amazing concepts, but [you]. I hope to do you proud.”
She went on to say, “And if I make mistakes, I want you to hit me up in the DMs and let me know. Like, ‘Girl, you messed that up.’ Because I want to make you proud. Thank you so much.”

  • Lisa Vanderpump Shades Teddi Mellencamp Following Her 'RHOBH' Exit

    WENN/DJDM/Brian To

The ‘RHOBH’ alum’s response is totally different from Kyle Richards, who sends a sweet message for Teddi after news of her exit from the Bravo reality show hits the web.
    Sep 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – It is no secret that Lisa Vanderpump and her former “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-star Teddi Mellencamp don’t have the best relationship following the infamous PuppyGate. Weighing in on Teddi’s exit from the Bravo reality series, Lisa can be heard taking a jab at Teddi in a new episode of her podcast.
“People said because she was boring. I certainly didn’t have a good experience with her, so boring would be one of the nicer things that I could say,” the 60-year-old star quipped on her “All Things Vanderpump” podcast. The restaurateur also commented on the controversy surrounding Teddi’s All In by Teddi accountability program.
“I think there was something of contention about her business. Something about 500 calories a day,” the SUR owner shared. “I don’t know how anybody can survive on 500 calories a day. I think I eat 500 calories between 2:30 and 4:30 A.M. when I’m up in the night.”
She went on saying, “I guess whatever works for you – but apparently it didn’t for everybody.” Throwing another one last time, Lisa added, “Anyway, wish Teddi Mellencamp all the best… said no one ever. Okay, moving on.”

Her response was totally different from Kyle Richards, who sent a sweet message for Teddi after news of her exit hit the web. “To my friend @teddimellencamp who I love & adore. I am so grateful for #RHOBH for bringing you into my life. You are an amazing Mom, wife, sister, daughter & friend,” so she wrote on Instagram.
Further gushing over Teddi, Kyle continued, “You work so hard, always giving it your all . You are so smart, kind , thoughtful, funny & real. I look forward to witnessing what the universe has in store for you next. I know it’s going to be amazing. You deserve it all. Cheers.”
Teddi confirmed her departure on Tuesday, September 22 in an Instagram video. “I don’t want to bore you, but I figured I could give you a little update on what’s going on. I recently found out that my contract as a Housewife is not being renewed.” She went on saying, “Of course I could give you the standard response of, ‘Oh we both came to the decision that it would be best.’ Nah, I’m not going to do that – that’s not who I am. Of course when I got the news I was sad.”
Likening the firing to “a breakup,” Teddi added, ” [It’s] because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew.” She continued, “I’m really looking forward to the future and being able to focus on my family, my friends, all in. I really feel like I have some exciting things ahead. And you know what? I’m pretty busy with this lil’ nuggs. So, thanks for coming along on this journey with me and I’ll see you soon.”

    Sep 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kris Jenner wants Corey Gamble to fully pay his attention to her. In a new clip from an upcoming of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, Kris is seen being jealous because her boyfriend seems to be too occupied with his new lady, a puppy named Bridgette.
In the episode, which will air on Thursday, September 24, Corey apparently attempts to teach the self-proclaimed momager a lesson for not helping him raise their new puppy. “Kris is the one that wanted the dog, but I’m doing 99.7 percent of all dog duties,” Corey shares in a confessional. “So, what I think I got to do now is, all the attention that I used to give Kris, I think I gotta just give it all to Bridgette.”
He proceeds with his plan when the two have lunch at Geoffrey’s. He says when they arrive at the restaurant, “Let me get your door, my little sweetheart.” Upon seeing that, Kris asks him, “What happened to my door?”

Not stopping there, Corey’s attempt to make Kris jealous continues as he calls Bridgette with several pet names such as “pumpkin” and “daughter.” He further stuns Kris as he tells her his plans with Bridgette. “Bridgette’s so happy to be here. I want to take her to Palm Springs, I want to take her to a Lakers game. I’m going to call Patek [Philippe] and see if I can get her a watch made,” he explains.
At one point, Kris asks her boyfriend, “Are you insane?” To that, Corey replies, “I mean, no. I’m insane for her.” The response prompts Kris to realize that she apparently “has some competition.”

“Competition? No one comes before Bridgette,” Corey jokingly shuts down Kris. “There’s Bridgette, then the world. She’s number one and you’re Kris.”

    Sep 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Alec Baldwin has joined the ranks of the celebrities supporting Ellen DeGeneres as she attempts to bounce back from a potentially career destroying expose about working conditions on her talk show.
A handful of current and former employees went public with claims the set of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was a “toxic” environment of misconduct, bad behaviour and harassment in a BuzzFeed expose over the summer.
The scandal prompted DeGeneres to apologize to her staff and promise conditions would get better, while three producers on the show were fired following an investigation.
Many of her famous friends and show guests quickly stepped up to support Ellen, and during an appearance on her show on Wednesday, September 23, Baldwin urged her not to let the controversy get her down.
“Ellen, I just want to say… I’ve followed your career from when you were doing stand-up and you were a solo performer,” the new dad said. “I’ve watched the films you’ve done and I’ve watched your success on this TV show, and you are one of the funniest and most talented women, one of the most funny and talented people in all of showbusiness. We all have some patches of white water here, but you keep going. Don’t you stop doing what you’re doing.”

  • First Trailer for Aaron Sorkin's 'The Trial of the Chicago 7' Shows Its Stellar Cast

    [embedded content]

Highlighting the racial injustice in the trial against seven people accused of inciting a riot, the Netflix original film stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sacha Baron Cohen and Eddie Redmayne as the defendants.
    Sep 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – The first official trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming drama “The Trial of the Chicago 7” is here for viewing pleasure. The film is based on the true story of the Chicago Seven, a group of seven defendants charged by the federal government with conspiracy in 1969 and 1970, inciting to riot, and other charges related to anti-Vietnam War and countercultural protests that took place in Chicago, Illinois, on the occasion of the 1968 Democratic National Convention.
The trailer opens with Eddie Redmayne’s Tom Hayden delivering a speech about the plans to stage a protest in Chicago. On the street, the demonstrators, including Sacha Baron Cohen’s Abbie Hoffman and Jeremy Strong’s Jerry Rubin, are shocked to find dozens of armed officers heavily guarding the protest.
The protest leads to a trial, during which one of the defendants, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Bobby Seale, receives racist treatment from Judge Julius Hoffman (Frank Langella). He’s bound and gagged in the courtroom.

According to the official synopsis, “What was intended to be a peaceful protest at the 1968 Democratic National Convention turned into a violent clash with police and the National Guard. The organizers of the protest-including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden and Bobby Seale-were charged with conspiracy to incite a riot and the trial that followed was one of the most notorious in history.”
The movie has received rave reviews following a world premiere virtual event screening. “It’s great, a wily marriage of Sorkin’s strengths, timely material (though the film makes a cogent argument this stuff is always timely), and an ensemble cast made of top to bottom standout performances (but that Strong/Cohen combo is particularly inspired),” IndieWire’s deputy editor Kate Erbland writes of the movie.
Fandango’s Erik Davis gushes, “Aaron Sorkin’s ‘The Trial Of The Chicago 7’ is absolutely terrific, and will definitely be among the year’s best. Sharp, riveting, timely, tremendous writing and sensational performances across the board. A chilling but inspiring film about the power of protest.”
“The Trial of the Chicago 7” will be released globally on Netflix on October 16. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Keaton and John Carroll Lynch are also among the stellar cast.

  • Disney Confronted With Lawsuit for Evel Knievel's Likeness in 'Toy Story 4'

    Pixar Animation Studios

Suing the company, Pixar and their subsidiaries, lawyers for K and K Promotions claim that Duke Caboom, the stuntman toy voiced by Keanu Reeves, rips off the image of the motorcycle daredevil.
    Sep 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Disney bosses are facing a lawsuit from the firm who manage the rights to Evel Knievel’s likeness over a character in the film “Toy Story 4”.
In the hit 2019 animation, Keanu Reeves plays a toy modelled on a stunt driving motorcyclist called Duke Caboom.
Now, lawyers for K&K Promotions have filed suit against Disney, Pixar and their subsidiaries, claiming the stuntman toy rips off the image of the American motorcycle daredevil.
According to their attorneys, Disney producers did not get any type of approval to base one of their characters after Evel, despite the alleged similarities between the Duke toy and the real-life stunt fanatic.
K&K’s website states that they own the rights to Knievel’s image for the purposes of advertising.

According to their lawsuit, they state the “Toy Story” character is modelled on Evel and a wind-up toy released in his name during the height of his fame.
They also allege that cast members were asked to avoid using Evel’s name during interviews to get around trademark issues.
Knievel’s son Kelly and a K&K spokesperson said in a press release, “Evel Knievel did not thrill millions around the world, break his bones and spill his blood just so Disney could make a bunch of money.” Kelly added, “He remains an instantly-recognized icon, as demonstrated by the huge popularity of the re-issued Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle among kids who hadn’t even been born when my father died a dozen years ago.”
The film made more than $1 billion worldwide at the box office, also released tie-in toys, including ones featuring Duke Caboom.
Now, according to TMZ, K&K’s lawyers want to take Disney to court and are asking judges to award them significant damages.
At the 92nd Academy Awards in February, the movie was nominated for Best Original Song, and won Best Animated Feature.

The season 15 finale of the long-running NBC competition show kicks off with a number of stunning performances, including a duet from Cristina Rae and Ryan Tedder.
    Sep 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – “America’s Got Talent” aired its season 15 finale on Wednesday, September 23. The episode kicked off with a number of stunning performances, including a duet from Cristina Rae and Ryan Tedder. Bishop Briggs also joined forces with The Bello Sisters. Archie Williams, who gained support from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, also performed together with Marvin Winans.
Also performing that night was Blake Shelton who was joined by Broken Roots. Meanwhile, Roberta Battaglia, Kenadi Dodds and Julia Michaels offered a powerful performance. Another duet performance was from Ava Max and Daneliya Tuleshova who sang “Kings and Queens”.
Following a series of the amazing performances, it was time to reveal the Top 5. They were Alan Silva, Cristina Rae, Broken Roots, Roberta Battaglia and Brandon Leake. Host Terry Crews later announced that Alan was the act occupying the 5th place.

Roberta came in 4th place, with Cristina Rae in 3rd place. “My baby is gonna be on this stage, and he’s going to win,” she said while in tears. Judge Heidi Klum, who gave Cristina her Golden Buzzer, also became emotional. She told her, “You are a winner in my heart.”
Things now narrowed down between Brandon Leake and Broken Roots. The two of them were amazing, but there would be only one winner who will be given $1 million and a headline show in Las Vegas. The winner is Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer act Brandon Leake! He marks the first spoken word artist to win “America’s Got Talent”.
“I’ve been here for 11 years and have watched it for 15 years. I have never had a Golden Buzzer where I think there is gravitas, timing and importance behind it like never before,” Howie said to PEOPLE following the finale.
“Brandon is doing work that really needs to be done. People are listening to his words and relating to it. To steal from Oprah [Winfrey], he’s given us so many ah-ha moments that you don’t normally get on a talent show. I think he’s more than just talent and I’m so proud to be even a small part to witness this and be a part of this show,” he gushed.
