  • Dominic Purcell Confirms Season 6 of 'Prison Break' Is in the Works

    20th Century Fox

The assurance comes just weeks after the actor playing Lincoln Burrows in the hit crime drama series stated, ‘We are all in agreement that if the story is worthy it will get made.’
    Sep 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Prison Break” star Dominic Purcell has confirmed a sixth season of the hit drama is in the works.
The actor teased the news in an Instagram post, alluding to more episodes of the show, which last aired in 2017.
Running through a string of rumours about his age – he’s 50 – and hairline, the actor wrote: “Will season pb 6 happen. Yes…”.

Purcell revealed last month that producers were eyeing a possible return to production for October. “I get smashed with ‘when is #prisonbreak 6 happening’. What I can promise is this. We are all in agreement that if the story is worthy it will get made,” he shared.
Bosses at Fox have yet to confirm the news.
Meanwhile, Fox Entertainment’s CEO Charlie Collier said last year that there wasn’t plan for a continuation of the series, which also starred Wentworth Miller and Sarah Wayne Callies. “There’s no plan right now to revive ‘Prison Break’ or any of the other franchises, but when the creators come with a story that they think is the right time to tell, we are so ready to listen because those are some franchises of which I’m so proud and feel so fortunate that they’re in our stable,” he said.
The hit series, which centered around Michael Scofield (Miller) and his brother Lincoln Burrows (Purcell), originally ran for four seasons from 2005 to 2009. It later retured a fifth season in 2017.

  • Teddi Mellencamp Likens Her Exit From 'RHOBH' to a 'Breakup'

    Bravo

The reality TV star’s departure from the Bravo show arrives after she is involved in scandal in which she is accused of running a ‘scam starvation company,’ All In By Teddi.
    Sep 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Teddi Mellencamp has let go her diamond. The reality TV star has confirmed that she’s leaving Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” after 3 seasons. She announced her departure on her Instagram account on Tuesday, September 22, just a day after a report of her being fired from the show emerged.
“Hey guys, just here, hangin’ with baby Dove,” the 39-year-old said in a video. “I don’t want to bore you, but I figured I could give you a little update on what’s going on. I recently found out that my contract as a Housewife is not being renewed.”
She went on saying, “Of course I could give you the standard response of, ‘Oh we both came to the decision that it would be best.’ Nah, I’m not going to do that – that’s not who I am. Of course when I got the news I was sad.” Likening the firing to “a breakup,” Teddi added, ” [It’s] because you develop such strong relationships with the cast, with the crew. And you get to do incredible things that you probably never get to experience without the show.”
“That being said, I’m really looking forward to the future and being able to focus on my family, my friends, all in. I really feel like I have some exciting things ahead. And you know what? I’m pretty busy with this lil’ nuggs,” she continued before panning the camera to her 6-month-old daughter. Concluding the message, Teddi said, “So, thanks for coming along on this journey with me and I’ll see you soon.”

Prior to this, it was reported that Bravo axed her from “RHOBH” because she was “boring and stale.” An insider claimed, “The network has not been impressed with her performance on the show. They considered cutting her last season but gave her one last chance.”
The report went on to note that the network also thought that the 39-year-old “does not offer anything to the franchise with her robotic and staged delivery when interacting with the other cast members. The issue is, the other cast members don’t particularly like her and beyond Kyle [Richards], no one is friends with her.”
Her departure arrives after she was involved in scandal in which she was accused of running a “scam starvation company,” All In By Teddi. A number of clients claimed that Teddi’s weight loss strategies were harmful and even might inadvertently promote disordered eating.
Fans of “RHOBH” also called for her departure after she rubbed them the wrong way with her involvement in Lisa Vanderpump’s infamous PuppyGate back in 2019 which resulted in Lisa’s exit. She continued to be in the bad side of the viewers as she appeared to be pressing the drama between Denise Richards and Brandi Glanville.

  • Ellen DeGeneres' Staff Not Impressed by Her Apology in Season Premiere

    WENN

A current employee of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ describes the host’s monologue on the first episode of season 18 as a scheme to ‘get viewers back’ because it’s premiere week.
    Sep 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Ellen DeGeneres’ apology to her current and former talk show employees fell flat on Monday (21Sep20) – they’ve accused her of using their issues to pump up ratings.
The TV personality returned to her studio to kick off the 18th season of her show and immediately addressed complaints from staffers about the toxicity behind the scenes on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.
Many employees claimed DeGeneres had turned her back on misconduct in the workplace, prompting the “Finding Dory” star to apologise to staff earlier this summer.
Following an investigation, three producers were fired and Ellen insisted she’d be making some changes to improve conditions and the workplace culture, but she waited for the 18th season premiere to address the public about the attack on her reputation as the “be kind lady” – and current and past employees were not happy with the way she started the show.

      See also…

“Not only did Ellen turn my trauma, turn our traumas, into a joke, she somehow managed to make this about her,” one former employee told Buzzfeed News. “When she said, ‘Oh, my summer was great’ and that was supposed to be funny I thought, ‘It’s funny that you had a rough summer because everyone was calling out all of the allegations of your toxic work environment and now you’re the one suffering?’ ”
A current employee questioned the timing of the apology, “It’s always tactical. The average person will listen to it and make their own choices, but what people don’t always take into account is that information is power, and she’s sharing it now because it’s for premiere week and it’s to get viewers back, and that just feels the opposite of what this message is about.”
Another former staffer added, “When you’re talking about people who have accused her leadership of the seriousness of sexual misconduct, I don’t think it’s appropriate to have jokes in the monologue.”
During her opening monologue, Ellen said, “As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation. I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realise that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show…”
“Being known as the ‘be kind’ lady is a tricky position to be in. So let me give you some advice out there if anybody’s thinking of changing their title or giving yourself a nickname, do not go with the ‘be kind’ lady. Don’t do it. The truth is I am that person that you see on TV.”

  • Jimmy Kimmel Pokes Fun at Lowest-Ever Emmy Ratings

    ABC

The late-night show host reacts as the virtual Primetime Emmy Awards that he hosted over the weekend sets a new record for attracting the lowest-ever audience.
    Sep 23, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jimmy Kimmel has addressed the lowest-ever Emmy ratings after hosting the virtual awards ceremony on Sunday night (20Sep20).
Just 6.1 million viewers tuned in for the 72nd annual awards, which were celebrated virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic, with a 1.2 rating for the 18-49 demographic. This is compared to the seven million viewers and a 1.7 rating for 18-49s from the 2019 awards.
Referring to the dismal ratings during his monologue as he returned to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for the first time since his summer vacation, Kimmel said, “Well, I hosted the virtual Emmys last night. They’re saying it was the highest-rated Emmys ever. Oh, the lowest? Oh, all right. Well, we set a record, let’s just say that.”

Despite the poor reception to the first virtual awards, Kimmel insisted that the gig was “a lot of fun.” However, things were vastly different this time around as the chat show host reflected, “When it was over there are usually parties and everyone is carrying their Emmys around, everybody’s happy, everybody’s celebrating. This year, the show ended and it was like ‘Well, I guess I’ll go into my car and drive home.’ It was nothing.”

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards live from an empty Staples Center in Los Angeles while the nominees watched the ceremony at home. Runners, wearing a full hazmat suit, were sent to their doorsteps, ready to hand the awards if they were named the winners.
“Schitt’s Creek” dominated the night. It became the first comedy series to win all of the four main acting categories and all seven major awards in a single year. Combined with its triumphs at the Creative Arts Emmys, the show became the most-awarded comedy in a single year.
