    AceShowbiz – Robert Downey Jr. is helping to develop a new drama series based on Michael Crichton’s sci-fi novel “Sphere”.
    “The Avengers” star and his producer wife Susan Downey have joined forces with “Westworld” writer and executive producer Denise The, among others, for the HBO project.
    Adapted by The, “Sphere” will take viewers on a deep dive into the ocean to examine a newly-discovered alien spacecraft.
    The 1987 book was previously turned into a film starring Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, and Samuel L. Jackson. Barry Levinson directed and produced the 1998 release.

    AceShowbiz – Kelly Marie Tran has made history by becoming the first Southeast Asian to lead a Disney animated film after joining the cast of “Raya and the Last Dragon”.
    The “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” star has joined the feature as the titular heroine, replacing Cassie Steele, who was previously set to take on the role.
    Tran joins Awkwafina in the film, which is set to be directed by Don Hall and Carlos Lopez Estrada from a script developed by playwright Qui Nguyen and Adele Lim.
    “Raya and the Last Dragon” is set to debut on 12 March (21).

    AceShowbiz – A series inspired by the blockbuster movie franchise “Resident Evil” is officially a go at Netflix.
    Written by “Supernatural” co-showrunner Andrew Dabb and produced by executives at Constantin Film, the team behind the dystopian zombie films, the show will feature all new story lines.
    Based on the massively successful 1996 video game, the big screen adaptation of “Resident Evil” debuted in 2002 and spawned six films, all starring Milla Jovovich. The franchise wrapped in 2016 with “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”.
    “Resident Evil is my favorite game of all time,” Dabb, who will serve as showrunner, said in a statement. “I’m incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world.”
    Bronwen Hughes, who served as a director on “The Walking Dead”, will direct and executive produce the first two episodes.

    AceShowbiz – Kate Winslet has a new skill to add to her resume – she can hold her breath underwater for a staggering seven minutes.
    The 44-year-old actress re-teams with her “Titanic” director James Cameron for the “Avatar” movie sequels, in which she plays “water person” Ronal.
    Kate had to learn to free dive for the part and reflected on the process during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, explaining, “I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar, and that was just incredible. My longest breath-hold was seven minutes and 14 seconds, like crazy, crazy stuff.”
    And having the chance to reunite with Cameron on “Avatar 2” and “3”, which she shot in 2018, Kate added that the moviemaker has changed dramatically since she worked with him on 1997 movie “Titanic”.
    “Time has changed him. Jim has become a father a few more times over. He’s a calmer person. Chilled. You can just feel him enjoying it more this time,” she smiled.

    AceShowbiz – AJ McLean is dancing his way to the ballroom! It has been officially confirmed on an Instagram post that the Backstreet Boys singer is among the line-up for upcoming season 29 of the long-running ABC show.
    AJ broke the news on Thursday, August 27 on the photo-sharing platform. Alongside a picture of himself posing in a practice room, the “I Want It That Way” singer wrote, “I am so grateful to @dancingabc and @abcnetwork for the opportunity to be joining this season’s cast of #DWTS. I also want to thank my wife and my two girls for letting Daddy go on this new adventure. I’m doing it ALL for you! Get ready, BSB Army, this is going to be a wild ride. LET’S DO THIS!!!!!!”
    Prior to this, AJ hinted at him joining the show by teasing his fans about upcoming “big news.” He shared on Monday, August 24 that he’s been “on a very strict diet, grain-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, no sodas of any kind, and completely sober for almost nine months.”
    “A lot of surprises coming from me,” he went on to tease while posting a video of him working out. “I can’t tell you guys exactly what yet but I’m doing this for two reasons: one, to get in the best shape of my life, and to be healthy and to be happy, physically, mentally, and emotionally, and there’s something else coming up. Can’t tell you what it is but believe me you’ll know why based on that.”
    So far, AJ and Kaitlyn Bristowe are the only celebrity contestants who’ve officially been confirmed. “I’ll be happy with whoever they partner me with. I just feel like they’re all incredible,” the former “The Bachelor” star said of the pro dancers back in June. “They have to be to be on that show!”
    The full star lineup will be revealed Wednesday, September 2 on “Good Morning America”.

    AceShowbiz – ABC has revealed the premiere data of season 16 of “The Bachelorette”. Alongside a new promo poster featuring Clare Crawley, the leading lady in the upcoming season, the show announced on Thursday, August 27 that the new season, which allegedly will also feature Tayshia Adams, will arrive on October 13.
    “Get ready Bachelor Nation! @clarecrawley’s season of #TheBachelorette premieres Tuesday, October 13th at 8|7c on ABC. It’s about time,” the show wrote on its official Instagram account. The poster featured Clare donning a silver blazer and denim pants while holding a flower. One thing that caught people’s attention the most was one leg that was shown in the middle part of the poster.
    Fans were unsurprisingly confused by the bizarre addition. Someone even joked in the comment section, “Is that Tayshia’s leg be honest.” Another fan added, “WHAT DOES THE LEG MEAN???”
    “Damn ABC should of hired us for the visual design. This is just terrible blending,” another person commented. “What’s the point when we already know who she’s with? I’m confused lol,” a user questioned, referring to Clare’s alleged fiance Dale Moss.
    Season 16 of the ABC dating show will be different from any preceding seasons in the franchise’s history. According to an insider, “the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey, and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors. Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead.”
    “Clare allegedly fell in love with one of the guys while the show’s production was delayed due to Coronavirus pandemic. One of her potential guys found a way to get in touch with her and they began talking. By the time filming officially began, they were basically already in love. No one else stood a chance. It just became so obvious from her subsequent few dates that her heart wasn’t in it and she just wasn’t feeling it. Then she said she wanted out,” the source continued.

    Fans noticed that the reality TV star’s account on the photo-sharing platform was disappeared as of Tuesday, August 25 without warning or explanation. However, her Twitter account was still up.
    Prior to deleting her Instagram account, NeNe wrote on the blue bird app, “Support Black Women, Protect Black Women! You have no idea what they’ve been thru or the WEIGHT they have carried on their backs silently for yearsssssssssss. Thank you! Bye.”
    In an interview with Us Weekly, her co-star and friend Cynthia Bailey admits that NeNe has been MIA. “I haven’t seen her,” the Bailey Wine Cellar owner said on Monday. “I know she’s dealing with some contract stuff. That’s not my business. I hope they work all that out.”
    “I always will say, whether we’re besties or not, she’s great for the show,” she went on to say while promoting the Seagram’s Escapes Peach Bellini flavor she created. “She’s been around … since the beginning of the show, and she’s good TV, and I hope they work through it. And, you know, Bravo’s always publicly said, ‘She always has a home here.’ They’ve always been supportive of whatever she wanted.”
    Prior to this, it was reported that “the ladies are a little annoyed that NeNe hasn’t signed her contract yet. They feel she does this every year and puts herself on this pedestal and they just roll their eyes a bit over it.” Despite that, it was said that the cast, who has started filming, was “not surprised.”
    NeNe herself previously opened up about the state of the negotiations regarding her return to the upcoming season. “So, I’m still on holding pattern, let me start there. And also I’d be able to say that it’s not me, it’s them,” NeNe explained. “Every single season when it ends, or at least the last 3 or 4 seasons, I have been dealing with this-going back and forth.”
