  • 'The Masked Singer': New Promo Reveals Season 4 Premiere Date, Teases Costumes

    FOX

Meanwhile, executive producer Craig Plestis hints that next season of the hit FOX series is ‘going to be even bigger, which is surprising to say with the pandemic going on.’
    Aug 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Masked Singer” is returning soon! The hit FOX series has announced the premiere date of its upcoming season 4. Through a new promo released on Wednesday, August 26, the show has revealed that it will return for season 4 on September 23.
The new clip also gives a brief glimpse of the costumes featured in the new season. That includes The Gremlin, The Snow Owl, The Crocodile, The Giraffe, The Broccoli, The Popcorn, The Seahorse, The Jellyfish, The Mushroom, The Dragon and The Sun.
Some of the new characters seem to be new iterations of previous costumed creations. Whatcha Macallit looks similar to season 2’s Thingamajig, while Squiggly Monster seems to be part of Monster and Miss Monster’s family. There is also Baby Alien which may remind viewers of The Alien from season 1.

While glimpse of the new costumes is super quick, the show reveals a better look at The Crocodile in its Twitter post. “New costumes. New celebrities. New season! Anyone can happen on #TheMaskedSinger, premiering Wednesday, September 23 at 8/7c!” read the tweet.

‘The Masked Singer’ announced details of season 4 on Twitter.
Panelists Ken Jeong, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy will most likely reunite for the forthcoming season. Host Nick Cannon will also return despite his controversy over anti-semitic remarks.
Executive producer Craig Plestis also teases that “next season’s going to be even bigger, which is surprising to say with the pandemic going on.” Speaking with Deadline, he adds, “We have it cast, and we have some incredible names that I wish I could tell you right now, but I can’t, and the show’s going to be incredible.”
“It just takes a lot longer to do these shows, I have to be completely honest,” he continues. “Something that would just take an hour on a normal production day may take five hours. We start a lot earlier in the morning, and we go a lot later than we have ever done on any other year we’ve done the show. That’s just the cost of doing something during the pandemic.”

  • John Cusack Calls on Cable to Ban Fox News After Host Justifies the Killing of BLM Activists

    WENN

A number of celebrities put Tucker Carlson on blast after the Fox News host praised white teen Kyle Rittenhouse for shooting Black Lives Matter protesters in Kenosha.
    Aug 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – John Cusack called on fans to boycott Disney until it pulls all advertising from Fox News after host Tucker Carlson’s comments about a white teen who allegedly shot two protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Carlson provoked outrage on Wednesday (26Aug20) by saying Kyle Rittenhouse, who was arrested and charged with first-degree intentional homicide concerning the shootings of two protesters, “decided to maintain order when no one else would.”
“Are we really surprised this looting and arson accelerated to murder? How shocked are we that 17-year-olds with rifles decided they had to maintain order when no one else would? Everyone can see what was happening in Kenosha. It was getting crazier by the hour,” the Fox News host said, referring to protests over the shooting of Jacob Blake by police in Kenosha.
Cusack responded by tweeting, “Tucker Carlson Justifies Kyle Rittenhouse’s murders. We need to boycott cable until they ban Fox News. We can also boycott their sponsors,” before naming Disney and their streaming service Hulu.
Other stars demanded the firing of the TV news host, with Billy Eichner and “The Last of Us” writer and producer Craig Mazin calling for his dismissal. Stephen King also criticised him for calling for “vigilante justice,” while many Twitter users accused Carlson of “advocating murder.”
Disney chiefs no longer advertise on Carlson’s show, having pulled ABC ads in June over derogatory comments he made about immigrants – however this does not necessarily relate to all programming on the channel.
“The ABC advertisements were placed on the show without our knowledge by third party media buyers who were unaware that we do not advertise on the show, and they have now been notified not to place any further ads,” a spokesperson for ABC told Deadline at the time.
Disney bought Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox, last year – but the news channel and firm’s broadcasting arm was not part of the deal and was spun-off as a separate company.

  • 'AGT' Contestant Defends Jokes After He Left Heidi Klum 'Uncomfortable' for Calling Her 'Tramp'

    NBC

Comedian Usama Siddiquee stands by his skit in which he called Heidi ‘a tramp’ after his jokes went viral following a recent episode of the ‘America’s Got Talent’.
    Aug 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Heidi Klum was left “uncomfortable” after being called a “tramp” by comedian Usama Siddiquee during his “America’s Got Talent” audition.
The funnyman joked about travelling in airports as a person of colour called Usama, and then moved on to the “most fun music of all time” – club music. Explaining that a “DJ can say anything he wants in the beat, and as long as he has a beat drop, it makes it all OK,” Siddiquee continued, “Heidi, if I called you a tramp, you’d be like, ‘How dare you,’ right?”
He then said that if he’d called her the same thing to a song beat then she’d reply, “Well, I do get loose on occasion.”

Klum made her discomfort clear as the camera panned to her throughout the audition, and told Siddiquee when it was her turn to rate the performance, “Being called a ‘tramp’ probably was my least uncomfortable part of the whole thing. But that’s just me. Let’s see what America thinks.”
Heidi’s fellow judge Sofia Vergara praised Siddiquee for taking “a very risky theme” for his skit, while another judge, Howie Mandel, tweeted after the episode aired, “I’ll be honest – it’s really really tough for comedy, not sure if he got the response he wanted but I thought he started off fantastic.”

Siddiquee’s joke quickly went viral, and he later told Entertainment Tonight that he stands by his humour, explaining, “All love to Heidi. I mean, she’s a star, she’s worked as a judge. I mean, you know, comedy creates reactions in people, it’s a very powerful kind of art form where you say something and people have visceral reactions to it.”

The romantic comedy, which also stars Diane Keaton, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Blake Lively, revolves around two aged filmmakers as they work on a film about their courtship with actors.
    Aug 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Filmmaker Ed Zwick has moved on from plans to revive his hit TV show “thirtysomething” by creating a new romantic comedy starring Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Blake Lively.
Zwick has written and will produce “The Making Of”, which revolves around two aged filmmakers (Gere and Keaton) as they work on a film about their courtship with actors played by Lively and Miranda, while their marriage falls apart.
The film is set to shoot in the spring (21).
Until recently, Zwick and his production partner Marshall Herskovitz were working on a new TV drama focused on the grown-up kids from their hit show “thirtysomething”, but the project was shelved by TV bosses at ABC in June.
The sequel was set to revisit the characters of the show through the eyes of their grown-up children, played by Odette Annable, Chris Wood, and Patrick Fugit. Original stars Ken Olin, Mel Harris, Timothy Busfield, Patty Wettig, Melanie Mayron, and Polly Draper had all signed on to appear in the new series.

  • 'Selling Sunset' Star Heather Rae Young Counters Chrissy Teigen's Claims of Fake Realtor Career

    Instagram/WENN

The reality TV star claps back at the cookbook author, who insinuates that she and her co-stars fake their real estate careers for their Netflix show, by detailing her sales record.
    Aug 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Heather Rae Young is not letting anyone questioning the legitimacy of her career as realtor. Days after Chrissy Teigen insinuated that she and her co-stars fake their careers, the “Selling Sunset” star offered a countering argument as she shared her sales record during a TV interview.
The 32-year-old was asked to respond to the former model’s Twitter comments when making an appearance on KTLA. “My response to that is that I have had my real estate license since 2014. I’ve been with the Oppenheim Group since 2015,” she clapped back, “I sold my first house within three months of having my license.”
“It was a $7.2 million house. A week later, I sold a $1.5 million condo and you can look up the proof,” she continued, before throwing in an invitation, “You can come to our office and visit us. We’ve all been in the office for years and have known each other for almost six years. Maybe because she doesn’t know us doesn’t mean we’re not real real estate agents.”
    [embedded content]
The TV interview was Heather’s second response to Chrissy’s suspicion. A few days earlier, the TV personality replied to the wife of singer John Legend’s tweets by writing back, “Hey @chrissyteigen glad you watched the show!! Come by the Oppenheim group office sometime to say hello we can show you some of our new listings!!”

Heather Rae Young responded to Chrissy Teigen doubting her real estate career.
Heather’s clarification came after Chrissy expressed her doubt over the Netflix hit reality series. “I just watched all of Selling Sunset after watching everyone talk about it for so long! I don’t even think anyone on it is as mean or insane as you guys said? Maybe I’m just so used to it because I live here? This is pretty normal lol some are actually really nice,” she first tweeted.
“Maybe I also know everyone on tv plays up a character. They’re all doing that. You guys are … super mad at people who are in on the joke,” the 34-year-old wrote in the follow-up tweets. “I will say, I look at LA real estate a lot and have never seen any of these people lol either have our agents, who I have obsessively asked.”
Heather was not the only one setting the record straight. A number of her fellow cast members had fired back at Chrissy, including Oppenheim Group founder Jason Oppenheim, who tweeted, “Chrissy, thanks for watching our show! Regarding your agent’s knowledge of members of my team, I respectfully don’t know him either although that doesn’t mean he isn’t successful and didn’t just sell you a stunning home in Weho (seriously, I love your new house).”
“Selling Sunset” follows the elite real agents at The Oppenheim Group as they sell the luxe life to affluent buyers in Los Angeles. Joining Heather in the cast ensemble are Chrishell Stause, Christine Quinn, Mary Fitzgerald, Davina Portraz, Amanza Smith and Maya Vander. Its third season debuted on Netflix on August 7.
