    AceShowbiz – The Tony Awards have become the latest big prizegiving to go virtual after the in-person ceremony was cancelled amid coronavirus concerns.
    Organisers of the 74th annual theatre honours originally planned to hand out awards on June 7 at Radio City Musical Hall in New York, but the event was postponed and now it has been agreed the trophies will be presented during a digital celebration, with a time and date to be announced.
    “Though unprecedented events cut the 2019-2020 Broadway season short, it was a year full of extraordinary work that deserves to be recognized,” Charlotte St. Martin, the president of The Broadway League, and Heather Hitchens, the president and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, tell Deadline in a joint statement. “We are thrilled not only to have found a way to properly celebrate our artists’ incredible achievements this season, but also to be able to uplift the entire theatre community and show the world what makes our Broadway family so special at this difficult time. The show must go on, no matter what – and it will.”

    New York City’s Broadway theatre district was shut down in March in a bid to combat COVID-19 and venues will not reopen until January 2021, according to The Broadway League trade group.

    AceShowbiz – “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” has released a new preview for an upcoming episode of season 18. In the new sneak peek, fans are offered with more insight into the leak of Scott Disick’s rehab stay in a Colorado facility which also shocks the famous clan.
    The clip opens with Kim Kardashian calling Kourtney Kardashian regarding the matter. “I heard that Scott went to rehab by seeing it online. And it looks like someone at the facility leaked a photo of him. And I feel really bad for him,” the SKIMS founder says in a confessional. Kourtney can be heard saying that the leak was “so awful.”
    The ex of Scott continues to reveal that the leaked photo of Scott attending a group counseling session is taken from “his actual conversations, like, with the therapist.” Kourtney goes on saying, “He said that he’s never been betrayed in his life. And he is packing and he’s definitely coming home, but he’s really upset. He was actually going to work on himself and like, his traumas.”
    During her confessional, Kourtney also looks livid while blasting the leaker. “I think that whoever did leak this information should be really ashamed of themselves,” she claims, adding, “Everyone deserves to deal with their past traumas and privacy. It was completely violated.” When asked about “the breach of contract,” Kourtney responds that the father of her three kids should file a suit.

    Scott indeed threatened to take a legal action in May after details of his treatment at the All Points North Lodge in Colorado and a photo of him at the facility were published in the press. The “Flip It Like Disick” star checked out on Monday, May 4 and returned to Los Angeles.
    Following his threat to sue, Noah Nordheimer, the president and CEO of All Points North Lodge, revealed that it would investigate the leak. “My team and I are aware of the information publicized on May 4, 2020 by the Daily Mail and other media sources regarding All Points North (APN) Lodge,” he said in a statement.
    “If it were determined that any information relating to any client was ever obtained from APN facilities and provided to a media outlet, APN will take all legal action available against that individual, including co-operating with law enforcement and other governmental authorities,” he said.

In the video, the “Modern Family” alum and Ellen DeGeneres were seen discussing the former’s English skills, prompting many people to think that the host was being racist to Sofia.
    “Two comedians having fun with each other to entertain. I was never a victim guys, I was always in on the joke,” Sofia wrote on her Twitter account on Friday, August 21. She also attached the link to the 2015 clip in which the pair talked about filming new CoverGirl commercials together.

    “They give her the hardest lines too because we have to describe what’s in the CoverGirl makeup and she has such a hard time pronouncing any of the ingredients,” Ellen joked. Laughing, the “America’s Got Talent” judge responded, “I think because you are much more famous than me and older than me so they give you priority and you read the script first and then you’re the one that makes me say those words because there’s no way.”
    “They make her look pretty and make me say the important information,” Sofia added, still while laughing.

    Fans appreciated Sofia’s clarification as one wrote in the replies, “I love you Sofia thank you for speaking out and standing by Ellen!” Echoing the sentiment, another fan tweeted, “thank you for speaking up for Ellen and just trying to be decent and fair! You are wonderful!”
    “I love you BOTH so much and when I heard these comments i was so stunned. Comedy and entertainment isn’t for everyone,” another comment read. Meanwhile, someone else dubbed Sofia “one of our fav guests on the show.”
    The resurfaced clip arrives as “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” was hit with toxic workplace allegations. Following an investigation, three senior producers, Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman, were let go while the show is increasing the perks for current staff members.

    Former couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were billed to reunite for the virtual event, alongside Julia Roberts, Shia LaBeouf, Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConaughey, and Sean Penn, who starred in the 1982 high school film, but it has been postponed.
    The read through to benefit Penn’s emergency relief nonprofit CORE and the REFORM Alliance, was originally scheduled to take place on Thursday night, but it was moved to Friday.
    The event is still set to take place at some point, according to organisers, but a new date and time have not yet been announced.

    AceShowbiz – Nick Cannon and ViacomCBS may reunite soon. Despite firing Nick over his anti-semitic scandal, Chris McCarthy, president of entertainment and youth brands at ViacomCBS, appears to be optimistic that they could work together.
    “I struggle with the fact that Nick, a longtime partner and friend of ours, is on this journey and we’re not part of that journey,” Chris said during a town hall meeting on Monday, August 17, according to Variety. “I am hopeful we find a way to bring these two things together and hopefully we will have the opportunity to do that with Nick again.”
    This arrives after “The Masked Singer” host and his team reportedly planned to sue ViacomCBS with a lawsuit to the tune of $1.5 billion. “It is just that simple, ‘Wild’N Out belongs to Nick!’ ” his team reported shared in a statement earlier this month. “The show was created by Nick Cannon with his idea and original thought. Wild’N Out has brought billions of dollars in revenue to Viacom since 2015. And Nick deserves and has earned everything it is worth.”
    Noting that Nick “provides for other entertainers, the jobs he creates for black youth, the time he gives to mentoring incarcerated men and women, to the money he gives back and puts into communities, homelessness, and people less fortunate,” his team claimed that Nick “is constantly evolving both spiritually and mentally, as well as, taking action in learning, education and bridging the gap within the Jewish and African American communities.”
    ViacomCBS fired Nick in July in a statement which it shares that it has cut ties with the TV/radio personality. “ViacomCBS condemns bigotry of any kind and we categorically denounce all forms of anti-Semitism,” the Tuesday, July 14 statement read. “We have spoken to Nick Cannon about an episode of his podcast ‘Cannon’s Class’ on YouTube, which promoted hateful speech and spread anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.”
    Nick received backlash for slamming white people in an episode of his podcast “Cannon’s Class”, calling them savages and barbaric. He then issued an apology by extending his “deepest and most sincere apologies to my Jewish sisters and brothers for the hurtful and divisive words that came out of my mouth during my interview with Richard Griffin.

    “I went to the bath house with [sister] Sarah the other day, and I was telling her that even though [my relationship with you] is really good and definitely a lot better than it used to be, that I think it can improve,” the 37-year-old told her mom, Bunny, during a heart-to-heart conversation. “She was, like, discouraging me. She was like, ‘Mom said she doesn’t even like you.’ ”
    “One day I might not like you, another day I might not like Sarah,” Bunny responded. “That doesn’t mean I don’t love you and I don’t care about you. The one thing I don’t like, and I’ll say it to the day I die, is drinking. If you want me to change my thoughts on that, I won’t.”
    Trying to stop herself from crying, Leah said, “I still carry a lot of guilt for everything that happened when I was a teenager. Sometimes I feel like I can’t let go of the f***ing teenager. Sometimes I feel like that’s who I am.”
    Bunny then reminded her that things have changed a lot and she had overcome all the hard times in the past. “But you’re not,” Bunny told Leah. “You got sober. You had a baby. You have a business. You did fine. I think when you think I’m judging about the drinking … I wouldn’t want to see you lose what you have worked so hard for.”
    Leah begun drinking again six months before filming started although she stayed sober for nine years. For that, Bunny told her, “I think you really have to be honest about that.” She added, “Because I don’t see it enhancing your life. I just don’t. I don’t think Kiera would like that either,” referencing Leah’s 12-year-old daughter.

    Variety reported on Thursday, August 20 that staffers will receive five paid days off to use at their discretion, birthdays off, and paid time for doctors appointments and family matters. Senior producers Mary Connelly and Andy Lassner broke the news at a virtual town hall on Monday, August 17.
    During the emotional video conference, it was revealed that executive producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman “parted ways” with the daytime talk show. Host Ellen DeGeneres also allegedly issued another apology amid the damning accusations leveled at the show and herself.
    Admitting that she “wasn’t perfect,” Ellen said, “I’m a multi-layered person, and I try to be the best person I can be and I try to learn from my mistakes.” She went on saying, “I’m hearing that some people felt that I wasn’t kind or too short with them, or too impatient. I apologize to anybody if I’ve hurt your feelings in any way.”
    A source further claimed the 62-year-old TV personality “was emotional, she was emphatic about making it better and making herself more available. She acknowledged she can be introverted at times and she apologized if that was ever seen as hurtful.”
    “They’re putting in real structures and resources for people so this never happens again and that is extremely important to Ellen. She was emotional seeing everybody. They’re family,” the source continued.
    While Leman, Galvin and Norman were ousted from the show, DJ Stephen “tWitch” Boss is promoted to be co-executive producer. Variety also reported that executive producers Andy Lassner, Mary Connelly and Derek Westervelt still remain on the show.
