    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – The brains behind the new teenage “Star Trek” spin-off have revealed a new logo and title for the show.
Representatives at Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios announced the name of the upcoming CG-animated series, “Star Trek: Prodigy”, during the Star Trek Universe panel at the online [email protected] event on Thursday, July 23, also unveiling an accompanying glossy logo.
“Star Trek: Prodigy” will be centred around “a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning and salvation,” the reps added, noting the show will debut in 2021.

The new animated series for teens comes three years after Gene Roddenberry’s 1960s show was resurrected as “Star Trek: Discovery”, starring Sonequa Martin-Green. Discovery has been so successful, another spin-off is also currently in the works, starring Michelle Yeoh.

  • 'Mulan' Removed From 2020 Release Schedule, 'Avatar 2' and New 'Star Wars' Films Delayed

    Walt Disney Pictures

‘New Mutants’, in the meantime, is still planned to premiere on August 28, the same date ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’ is set to hit the theaters.
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Disney chiefs have removed the live action remake of “Mulan” from its release schedule and pushed back the premieres of the latest “Avatar” and “Star Wars” films by a year.
Director Niki Caro’s “Mulan” remake, starring Liu Yifei, was set to debut in North America on August 21, but with many cinemas still not open, due to the COVID crisis, bosses at the industry giant have decided to pull the movie and hold off on announcing a new date.
Marketing chiefs have also decided to push back the releases of the upcoming four “Avatar” sequels, beginning with “Avatar 2”, which will now hit cinemas in December, 2022.
Taika Waititi’s untitled “Star Wars” trilogy has also been delayed, with the first film in the series now due to premiere on December 22, 2023 – a year later than previously scheduled, while the second and third movies are now set to hit theatres in 2025 and 2027.
However, not everything on the Disney calendar is being overhauled – “The New Mutants” will still open on August 28, while “The Personal History of David Copperfield” jumps to the same date, two weeks later than scheduled.
Other unchanged future U.S. release dates include Matthew Vaughn’s “The King’s Man” (September 18) and “Death on the Nile” (October 23), followed by “Black Widow”, “Deep Water” and Pixar’s “Soul”, all of which will bow in November. December’s schedule includes “The Empty Man”, “Free Guy”, and Steven Spielberg’s much-anticipated “West Side Story” reboot.

  • Taraji P. Henson Developing 'Empire' Spin-Off Series on FOX

    20th Century Fox Home Entertainment

The spin-off reportedly will be penned by ‘Empire’ co-creator Danny Strong, Stacy A. Littlejohn and Yolonda Lawrence who will also executive produce and serve as co-showrunners of the project.
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Fans seemingly will be getting more of Taraji P. Henson’s Cookie Lyon. It is reported that a spin-off series centering on Taraji’s character is being developed by FOX and Taraji’s production company called TPH Entertainment following a two-year first-look deal that the actress signs with the 20th Century Fox TV.
Details of the pilot currently remain unknown, but it is said that it “follows what’s next for Cookie.” The “Hidden Figures” actress will obviously reprise the role in addition to serving as producer.
“I believe that normalizing stories around stigmatizing matters will make them more palatable for audiences to embrace,” Taraji said in a statetement on Thursday, July 23. “Art can change perception and I plan to develop projects that can help further the conversation.”
“I also aim to help cultivate and establish new young talent and their stories because they are our future and deserve a voice and a platform to be heard. I’m so excited to have 20th, led by the talented Carolyn Cassidy, support me in this new endeavor!” she continued.
“We were lucky to have a front row seat to Taraji’s meteoric rise as a fixture on television through ‘Empire’. Through that relationship everyone at the company grew to appreciate her passion for storytelling and her strong creative gut instinct,” added 20th Century Fox TV president Carolyn. “With ‘Empire’ finished we look forward to helping her explore stories that need to be told through her talent and advocacy.”
The spin-off reportedly will be penned by “Empire” co-creator Danny Strong, Stacy A. Littlejohn and Yolonda Lawrence who will also executive produce and serve as co-showrunners of the project. Should it go to pilot, “Empire” veteran Sanaa Hamri is set to return to direct. Meanwhile, Lee Daniels will join as a non-writing EP alongside Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Samie Falvey.
Prior to this, Henson and Daniels showed their interest to make a continuation to Cookie’s saga as “Empire” concluded after six seasons back in April. Of the possible spin-off, “Empire” showrunner Brett Mahoney said at the time, “I don’t know what that is and I’m not a part of it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone was trying to work on something.”

  • Brandi Glanville Insists She's Not Lying About Denise Richards Hookup Despite Denise's Denial

    WENN

Following a new episode of ‘RHOBH’, Denise denies the allegations in an interview with the Washington Post, insisting, ‘I did not have an affair. If I had an open marriage, I would be open about it.’
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Brandi Glanville opened up about her alleged hookup with Denise Richards in a Wednesday, July 23 episode of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. During gathering at cast member Kyle Richards’ home, she told other Housewives that she and Denise had a tryst while the latter is married to Aaron Phypers.
Brandi claimed that they “hit it off right away” and insinuated that Aaron knew about their relationship. “I had been out with her and Aaron and like, I knew that they have an understanding. Like, she could be with girls if she wanted to. And as long as, you know, it wasn’t with a guy. The first night we met, something happened,” the “Drinking and Tweeting” author said.
Recalling the time when she and Denise had a dinner, Brandi continued, “We completely click. We get absolutely wasted. We go to the restroom and all of a sudden we’re making out. But she wasn’t with, like, Aaron at that time. I was not expecting it. I was like, ‘I’ll go with it. I’m wasted. You’re pretty. Let’s do this.’ ”
Later, the 47-year-old shared that things escalated after Denise invited her to her set in Northern California to do her podcast. “I went and I was going to get my room. But Denise said, ‘No, just stay here. It’s fine. I’ll get you like a rollaway bed. You can stay in the room with us. There’s plenty of room.’ Her middle daughter was there with a friend and we did the podcast,” she said.
“That first night the girls were sleeping in a room downstairs at the door and Denise had a room upstairs. There was no rollaway bed conveniently. And so I just slept in the bed with Denise,” Brandi added. While nothing happened in the first night, Brandi claimed that in the second night they “got really drunk,” adding, “We were just so f***ed up and — just like, we kind of hooked up. We hooked up.”
However, the endeavor left Brandi disgusted because she felt like Denise made her like a cheater. “The next day she just said to me, she’s like, ‘No matter what you do, you can’t tell Aaron. He will kill me.’ I’m like, ‘What the f**k is happening right now?’ ”
After the episode aired, Denise denied the allegations in an interview with the Washington Post. “I did not have an affair,” she said in a story published Thursday. “There’s definitely consistency with the subject matter that comes up on this ‘Housewives’ season, and that’s all I’ll say.”
Of Brandi’s claim that Denise and Aaron had an open marriage, she explained, “If I had an open marriage, I would be open about it.”

Brandi Glanville insisted she’s not lying about Denise Richards hookup claims.
Meanwhile, Brandi took to her Twitter account to once again say that she’s not lying. “Literally on both my boys lives I’m not f***ing lying ! Why don’t we ask our mutual agent !!???” she wrote, referring to her and ex-husband Eddie Cibrian’s sons Mason (17) and Jake (13).

  • 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' Won't Show Kanye West's Meltdown

    Instagram

The Kardashian family and the producers of their reality TV show have decided not to show Kanye’s manic episode on television in the next ‘KUWTK’ season.
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kanye West’s current bipolar episode won’t be played out on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”, a production source has confirmed.
Speaking to TMZ, the insider revealed the rapper’s wife Kim Kardashian has reportedly made the decision to omit the incident from the show, which recently started shooting again after a lengthy hiatus amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
They explained the mum-of-four takes her husband’s mental health very seriously and doesn’t want it exploited for TV show ratings. Production staff on the programme were also reportedly told not to profile any of the kids during the ordeal, to avoid seeing it in the future.
Fears were raised for the rapper’s health on Sunday (19Jul20) following his appearance at a campaign rally for his presidential bid in South Carolina, where he appeared onstage wearing a bulletproof vest, attacked slavery activist icon Harriet Tubman and cried as he claimed he and Kim almost aborted her first pregnancy.
He also sent a series of rambling tweets, including one that claimed Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, tried to get him “locked up,” that he’s been desperate to divorce Kim for years, and hinted his wife had been unfaithful with Meek Mill.
Kim has defended her husband, calling his condition “incredibly complicated and painful,” and imploring fans to not pass judgement on his actions.

  • Chris D'Elia's Prank Show Canceled by Netflix Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

    Instagram

The Netflix project which was supposed to be co-hosted by the former ‘Whitney’ actor has been called off following allegations that he preyed on underage female fans.
    Jul 24, 2020
AceShowbiz – Bosses at Netflix have scrapped plans for a prank show hosted by Chris D’Elia after he was hit with recent allegations of sexual misconduct.
The embattled comedian was set to co-host the series with Bryan Callen, but reports suggest the project was canned last month (Jun20) after several women took to social media to accuse the star of inappropriate behaviour. Some of the accusers were underage when the alleged misconduct took place.
D’Elia released a statement denying the allegations, insisting he “never knowingly pursued any underage women,” but the Netflix executives have decided not to await the outcome of the drama and they cancelled the show before production started.
“I always knew Chris as a ladies’ man; I have never seen or heard of him doing anything illegal,” Callen said on his podcast “The Fighter and the Kid”.
“Right now I have to believe that, because he’s still a friend… I just think it’s an impossible situation, and I’m just at a loss. I’m praying that what I’m hearing isn’t true… It’s like watching someone die.”
In the wake of the accusations, D’Elia has also been dropped by his representatives, while executives at Comedy Central, Hulu, and Amazon Prime have all removed an episode of the show “Workaholics”, which features D’Elia as a sexual predator.
