Marvel Developing 'Captain America 4' With 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' Showrunner

    Marvel Studios

No cast or plotline is announced, but the story will likely continue the question of who is entitled to carry Captain America’s shield following Steve Rogers’ retirement.

    Apr 24, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Captain America’s lore isn’t going to end just yet in Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although Chris Evans has bid his farewell to the character in “Avengers: Endgame”, Marvel is still very much keen on continuing the story about his potential successor.

With fans’ equal interest in the idea, the studio is now reportedly developing “Captain America 4”. The project is in the works with “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” showrunner Malcolm Spellman as the screenwriter, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Spellman, whose notable works also include writing a number of “Empire” episodes, will write the script of the upcoming movie with Dalan Musson, a staff writer on the Disney+ series starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.

No official castings and plotline are announced for the project just yet, but the story will likely continue the question of who is entitled to carry the shield or be the new Captain America. At the end of “Avengers: Endgame”, Steve passed on his shield to Mackie’s Sam Wilson, who is currently one of the central characters on “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.

However, Sam has never picked up Captain America’s name and continues to use the Falcon moniker on the series as he is questioning how “a black man [can] represent a country that does not represent him” and the series explores how the shield becomes a burden for him. In the last episode of the series, Sam eventually takes up the shield.

There’s no word on whether Evans will return for the fourth movie and no director is attached to the project just yet. Back in January, the 39-year-old hunk laughed off speculation of his return as Captain America, responding to the reports by tweeting it was “news to me.”

His claim was echoed by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige in March. “I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens, but that rumor, I think, was dispelled rather quickly by the man himself,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

Melissa Rivers Slams 'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Bosses for Not Acknowledging Mom Joan as Inspiration

    WENN/Amazon Prime

The only child of late comedienne Joan Rivers feels ‘hurt’ and ‘violated’ as no one from the Amazon hit series acknowledged that the show was inspired by her mom.

    Apr 24, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Melissa Rivers wants her later mother, comedian Joan, recognised as one of the inspirations behind Amazon’s hit series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”.

The star died in 2014 at the age of 81, and Melissa insists her mother’s life mirrors that of the lead character Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel, who swaps being a housewife for a stand-up comic in the 1950s.

“Everybody’s saying, ‘Oh, it’s Joan, it’s Joan, it’s Joan, it’s Joan’ and yet I never hear from the people that make it or the actors,” Melissa said during an appearance on the “Behind the Velvet Rope” with David Yontef podcast.

While she has never seen an episode of the show, Melissa insists the character, played by Rachel Brosnahan, is “clearly a compilation” of the female comedians of that era, including her mother, who shot to fame in 1965 as a guest on “The Tonight Show”.

“Not even saying like, it’s completely her, but to say she was one of our inspirations,” she continued. “And because of that, I felt so violated in a weird way… Not even saying like, it’s completely her, but to say she was one of our inspirations.”

And although Melissa says she is not interested in taking any legal action, she would just like an acknowledgment from the show’s bosses.

“I would have no legal grounds, not one, but on a human level it still hurts me,” she explained. “I want to be happy that they win and I can’t be. And I could be completely wrong.”

“People could say, ‘You know, you’re crazy. You’re being stupid.’ But to me, like I said, all they ever had to do was reach out and acknowledge,” she continued. “All I ever wanted was a note, maybe a thank you in one of the acceptance speeches after all these years.”

George Clooney Rules Out 'ER' Reboot, Co-Star Agrees It Would 'Cheapen' the Legacy

    WENN

The Dr. Doug Ross depicter dismisses calls for ‘ER’ revival during a reunion event and his two former co-stars, Julianna Margulies and Carol Hathaway, agree with him.

    Apr 24, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
George Clooney doesn’t think an “ER” reboot would fare as well as the original series.

The actor became a household name after playing Dr. Doug Ross for 15 seasons on the medical drama – which ran from 1994 to 2009 – but suggested he wouldn’t be up for reprising the role if the show was to return to screens because he’s unconvinced it could match the consistent quality displayed in the programme’s original run.

Asked about the possibility during a live virtual reunion of the “ER” cast on “Stars in the House” to support co-star Gloria Reuben’s non-profit organisation, Waterkeeper Alliance, he said, “I don’t know. The hardest part is that when you look at the show and consistently over so many years – it would be hard to say that you could do it at the level that we did it. I’m not sure that that’s available.”

George has been enjoying old episodes of the show recently with his wife Amal and praised the series as “such great television.”

He gushed about the show’s season one episode “Love’s Labor Lost”, “This is better than anything I see in film or anywhere. This is stunning. It’s stunning work.”

“I felt that way about a lot of episodes I watched. I’m not sure (about a reboot)… it’s hard to catch lightning again.”

      See also…

His former co-star Julianna Margulies agreed, insisting a reboot would “cheapen” the show’s legacy.

The actress – who played Carol Hathaway – said, “You can’t capture lightning in a bottle twice. I think you have to leave what was so beautiful and move on, because it just feels cheap… It would cheapen it for me.”

However, Ming-Na Wen admitted she’d enjoy returning to play Jing-Mei Chen just because it would mean she could reconnect with the cast again.

She said during the reunion, which was streamed on People magazine’s social channels, “I would love to reboot only to be able to hang out with this group of people, the talent.”

“As you get older, the appreciation level and the awareness is so much greater. Just such great fortune. I would love to have been, even now… just even this, surrounded by these people.”

George admitted he’d been “excited” about reconnecting for the virtual reunion.

He said, “I’m excited to see this gang. These are people that I really love, you know, and that – we grew up together, really grew up together, in many ways, and it’s fun to see you guys.”

'Guardians of the Galaxy' Holiday Special Confirmed to Take Place After 'Thor 4'

    Walt Disney Pictures

Director James Gunn teases the upcoming Christmas special of the Marvel ragtag team of misfits, claiming it will be set after ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ but before the ‘GOTG 3’.

    Apr 24, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
James Gunn has confirmed he’s working on a “Guardians of the Galaxy” holiday special

The director took to Twitter on Thursday (22Apr21) to post a photograph of the front of a script, which read, “The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. Written by James ‘Long Elf’ Gunn.”

Captioning the tweet, he wrote, “This is the wrapping. The present is inside. #GotGHS. (sic)”

However, in true fashion, James seemingly didn’t give too much else away.

When someone asked if it would be like the “Star Wars” holiday special or “much better,” James simply replied, “In full disclosure, I loved the Star Wars Holiday Special as a kid.”

And when one fan asked if “this is based after Thor 4 but before Guardians 3,” James confirmed that was the case.

      See also…

James later also revealed it would be a television special rather than a movie and live action like the movie.

Responding to a fan, he wrote, “It’s a television special not a movie.”

The filmmaker admitted he had been working on this project for a little while.

He explained, “I wrote the treatment years ago and just finally finished the script.”

The special is expected to be out around December, 2022.

The Christmas special is going to tide fans over while waiting for the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”.

Details of the much-anticipated third installment are still scarce, but director James Gunn recently shut down rumors suggesting that former “High School Musical” star Zac Efron was among the new additions to the cast ensemble.

Gal Gadot to Shine Light on Real-Life Wonder Women in New Docu-Series

    Instagram

The ‘Wonder Woman’ actress is set to front a National Geographic project, teaming up with her own husband to shine a light on six inspirational women around the world.

    Apr 24, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“Wonder Woman” star Gal Gadot is using her fame to highlight real-life heroes in a new project for National Geographic.

The Israeli actress, who announced on Thursday (22Apr21) she’s expecting her third daughter, has partnered with her husband, Yaron Varsano, to produce a six-part docuseries, “National Geographic Presents: Impact with Gal Gadot”, in which she tells the “special stories” of six females around the world working to better their communities.

“(In) every episode we’re going to show a different real-life hero,” Gal said during an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan”.

The former beauty queen, who became a global superstar following the huge success of 2017’s “Wonder Woman”, has been looking to find a way to channel her fame for good, and she’s convinced “Impact” is just the ticket.

“After the success of Wonder Woman and fame and all of that, I just wanted to do something good and use the broad reach that I have to people through social media,” she revealed.

      See also…

The couple came up with the idea for the series after catching a short film shot by pal Ryan Pallota about a 20 year old who lives in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

“She used to be a ballerina,” Gal shared. “She had to stay in the favelas (slums) to help her mother and she basically created an amazing outlet for the girls in one of the most dangerous parts of Rio… She opened a dance school and the thing about living in the favelas is so many kids don’t have access to go to school or to do much with their lives… And basically she broke this cycle for over 250 girls, who are (now) super empowered…”

And Gal, who will reteam with “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins for a third outing as Diana Prince following last year’s hit sequel, “Wonder Woman 1984”, is convinced the six stirring and empowering tales are airing at just the right time.

“We’re living in a world where there’s so much hate and division and negativity,” she added. “I just wanted to bring light and positivity and goodness.”

“National Geographic Presents: Impact with Gal Gadot” debuts on 26 April.

Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton Reunite in New Teaser of 'KUWTK'

    WENN/Avalon/Derrick Salters

The two famous friends meet to discuss the campaign for SKIMS brand velour tracksuits before they recall the time when Kim desperately wanted to be on a magazine cover.

    Apr 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” has unveiled a new teaser for an upcoming episode of its final season. In the new clip, which was released on Thursday, April 22, fans are teased with a fun cameo by Kim’s BFF Paris Hilton.

The two famous friends reunite as they meet to discuss the campaign for Kim’s SKIMS brand velour tracksuits. That is when they are throwing back to the time when Kim desperately wanted to be on a magazine cover.

“Hi! How are you?” Kim greets the hotel heiress who looks gorgeous in a leopard-patterned outfit. “I texted you earlier, I think I have the wrong number,” Kim adds, before Paris coyly responds, “I have like five phones, so it might be one of those.”

      See also…

Talking about doing the SKIMS velour tracks photoshoot with Paris, Kim, who used to Paris’ partying sidekick, says, “The TikTok campaign wasn’t really authentic to me, but then I thought, OMG, me, Paris, like that is everything.”

The two then look at some old photos of Kim back in the day as they look for some inspiration for the throwback campaign. They later find a picture of Kim posing in a pink babydoll dress against a white Range Rover back in 2007. “Is that for Complex?” Paris asks, to which Kim replies, “It was either Complex or Dub magazine. It was like the only cover I could get at the time.”

Recalling that time, Kim continues, “I remember I wanted to be on the cover of a magazine so badly that there was a dog magazine, and I hated dogs. I didn’t even have a dog, they were like, ‘Would you be on the cover?’ and I was like, ‘Whose dog can I borrow?’ ” The estranged wife of Kanye West revealed that she eventually borrowed Nicole Richie’s puppy for the gig.

Being one of the world’s most famous women today, Kim easily landed gigs for magazine covers. She was on two highly coveted American Vogue covers, the first one was in 2014 featuring her and Kanye. Later in May 2019, she graced the cover solo. She was also featured in the cover of Forbes magazine.

Russell Crowe Confirms His Role as Zeus in 'Thor: Love and Thunder'

    WENN

Should his role be officially confirmed, the ‘Gladiator’ actor will join the cast that includes Natalie Portman, who is set to reprise her role as Jane Foster, and Christian Bale who will play the movie’s villain

    Apr 23, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Russell Crowe has made a shocking revelation on his involvement in the upcoming “Thor: Love and Thunder”. In a new interview on an Australian radio show, the actor revealed that he will join the cast of the forthcoming Marvel film as Olympian God Zeus.

“Now, I’m gonna get on my bicycle, I’m gonna ride up to Disney-Fox studios… and round about 9:15, I shall be Zeus in Thor 4,” Crowe said before ending the interview on Thursday, April 22. “It’s my last day of Zeus-ing about.”

Neither representatives for Russell nor Disney has commented on the matter.

The report of Russell’s appearance on the flick was first emerged last month as Deadline described the role as a “fun cameo.” Should his role as Zeus be officially confirmed, the “Gladiator” actor will join the cast that includes Natalie Portman, who is set to reprise her role as Jane Foster, and Christian Bale who will play the movie’s villain. Cast member Tessa Thompson, who returns as Valkyrie, confirmed the casting in March as saying, “Christian Bale is going to play our villain, which is going to be fantastic.”

In Marvel comics, Zeus is depicted as the king of the Olympians. Similar to Thor’s Asgardians that are drawn from Norse mythology, Olympians ar a group of characters inspired by Greek mythology. The character has been known to fight against and alongside Thor.

The fourth installment of the “Thor” movie series will have Taika Waititi back as the director with Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as the title character a.k.a. God of Thunder. Also returning to the movie is Jaimie Alexander who will play Sif once again.

It was also reported that Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan and Sean Gunn were spotted on the set as well. Meanwhile, Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth and Melissa McCarthy were allegedly billed to make cameo appearance.

The movie is slated to arrive on May 6, 2022 in the United States.
