    WENN

46-year-old Floyd died at the hands of Minnesota police after a white cop kneeled on his neck during an arrest and ignored his plea that he was struggling to breathe.
    May 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Rapper/actor Ice Cube cancelled a planned TV appearance on Thursday, May 28, because he was in “no mood” to chat following the death of an unarmed black man at the hands of Minnesota police.
The “Friday” star is among a host of celebrities outraged about the death of George Floyd, who was caught on camera gasping for breath as a white cop kneeled on his neck during an arrest on Monday.
Floyd, who repeatedly told the arresting officers he was struggling to breathe, lost consciousness at the scene and was pronounced dead at a nearby medical center.

All four cops involved in the incident, which has sparked violent protests across the U.S., have been fired, and now activists are demanding authorities charge the men with Floyd’s murder.

Ice Cube vented frustration over George Floyd’s death.
Ice Cube vented about the latest act of police brutality against African-Americans on Twitter on Tuesday, writing, “How long will we go for Blue on Black Crime before we strike back???” and on Thursday, he revealed he was too angry to go through with his scheduled interview on U.S. breakfast show “Good Morning America” to promote his new film, “The High Note”.

Ice Cube announced cancellation of his ‘GMA’ appearance.
Explaining his absence to fans, he tweeted, “I apologize to everyone expecting to see me on Good Morning America today, but after the events in Minnesota with George Floyd, I’m in no mood to tell America, good morning.”

Henry Cavill Eyeing to Make Return as Superman in New DC Film

    Warner Bros.

Last seen as Clark Kent in 2017’s ‘Justice League’, the ‘Man of Steel’ actor has previously stated that he has not given up his superhero role, insisting there is still a lot of storytelling to do.
    May 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Henry Cavill is reportedly in talks to reprise his role as Superman in a new film based on the DC Comic books.
Sources confirmed to Variety the “Man of Steel” actor, whose most recent outing as Clark Kent came in 2017’s “Justice League”, is in talks to make an unexpected return as America’s beloved superhero.
Insiders also told Deadline.com the project will not be a “standalone film”, with Warner Bros’ chiefs having several DC movies at various stages of production – Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”, which began shooting before the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as “Shazam! 2”, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s “Black Adam” and “Aquaman 2”. “Wonder Woman 1984” and a new “Suicide Squad” movie are also in post-production awaiting release.
“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder recently announced he would release the long-rumoured “Snyder Cut of Justice League” for HBO Max, which could require reshoots, but insiders told Variety, Cavill’s talks relate to a cameo in one of DC’s upcoming films.
In an interview with Mens’ Health magazine late last year (19), Cavill said he had not given up the role, despite the apparent shelving of plans for a continuing DC Extended Universe in favour of standalone franchises.
“The cape is still in the closet,” the star of “The Witcher” said. “It’s still mine. I’m not going to sit quietly in the dark as all the stuff is going on. I’ve not given up the role.”
“There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”

Devon Sawa Credits Christina Ricci for 'Casper' Role: I Owe Her the World

While celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary, the actor playing the iconic ghost reveals that his four-year-old daughter was just about to watch the film for the first time.
    May 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actor Devon Sawa is thanking his “Casper” co-star Christina Ricci for helping him land the role, while celebrating the film’s 25th anniversary.
The star took to Twitter on Tuesday (May 26) in response to a tweet from the 1995 movie’s director Brad Silberling, in which he gave a shout-out the cast, including Ricci and Bill Pullman.
Sawa, who played ghost Casper when he comes to life as a boy in the spooky comedy, joined in on the exchange, revealing his four-year-old daughter was just about to watch the film for the first time and also noted that it was Ricci who helped him land the role.
“Christina Ricci is a HUGE talent and played a big part in me getting the role and then went on to recommend me for (1995 film) ‘Now and Then’,” he wrote. “I owe her the world.”

He also noted that while he played the human version of the supernatural character, it was Malachi Pearson who voiced the ghost throughout the film.

“I was in Casper for 30 secs (seconds). Malachi Pearson did the hard work,” he added. “When they decided last minute to bring Casper to life he was too young. So I landed the role. And I’m very fortunate @BSilberling chose me cause I’d be lying if I said it didn’t start a 30 year job that I love.”

'AGT' Pledges to Improve Reporting Processes Following Gabrielle Union's Complaints

    NBC

The ‘America’s Got Talent’ producers have agreed to improve reporting process following investigation launched due to the complaints made by the former judge.
    May 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – The bosses of hit U.S. show “America’s Got Talent” have pledged to improve reporting processes behind the scenes thanks to Gabrielle Union’s complaints about diversity off-camera.
NBC, Fremantle, and Syco officials issued a joint statement about the results from an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the firing of the former judge, who departed the show after one season last year 2019.
They concluded that “no one associated with the show made any insensitive or derogatory remarks about Ms. Union’s appearance, and that neither race nor gender was a contributing factor in the advancement or elimination of contestants at any time,” but it appears the actress’ complaints about AGT’s “toxic” culture have prompted a series of new rules governing the welfare of the show’s stars, contestants, and crew.
“While the investigation has demonstrated an overall culture of diversity, it has also highlighted some areas in which reporting processes could be improved,” the statement reads. “NBC, Fremantle and Syco share Ms. Union’s dedication to diversity and inclusion in the industry. We continue to remain committed to having an inclusive environment for everyone associated with the show, and to upholding AGT as one of the most diverse programs on television.”
Union sat down with NBC bosses to discuss her departure and the events that led to it at the end of 2019.
She and fellow judge Julianne Hough have since been replaced by Sofia Vergara and the returning Heidi Klum for the new season, which launched on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

'Criminal Minds' Bosses Sued for Allegedly Condoning Sexual Misconduct

    CBS

Bosses at Disney and CBS have been slapped with a lawsuit by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing for allegedly allowing cinematographer to grope crew member.
    May 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – State of California officials are suing Disney and CBS bosses over a cinematographer on TV show “Criminal Minds”, who was allegedly allowed to grope male crew members by employers who condoned his conduct.
According to a lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Gregory St. Johns is accused of touching multiple men and retaliating against those who spurned his advances.
The creative was fired from the show, starring Mandy Patinkin, Joe Mantegna, and Jennifer Love Hewitt, in 2018 after crew members’ complaints became public but, according to Deadline, he had engaged in a pattern of “sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation” for 14 years.
He is accused of touching, kissing, and caressing “numerous men,” and it is alleged that his employers had “actual and constructive knowledge” of St. Johns’ “abusive” conduct – yet allowed it to continue “unchecked.”
“No necessary steps to prevent sex-based harassment and discrimination were taken over the years, nor were appropriate corrective actions,” the lawsuit continues.
“Instead, the executives fired anyone who resisted or who tacitly evaded St. Johns’ advances or abuse.”
The legal case says more than a dozen men were fired at St. Johns’ request. DFEH officials are seeking damages for St. John’s victims.
Representatives from CBS and Disney have yet to comment on the lawsuit. St. Johns has also not addressed the allegations.
