Pyer Moss to Host Drive-In Screening of 'American, Also' During Fashion Week

    Instagram

When announcing the September event, founder Kerby Jean-Raymond explains that the documentary ‘aims to show the love and care our entire company puts into every single moment we create.’
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Pyer Moss founder Kerby Jean-Raymond is set to headline a drive-in documentary showcase in September, during what would have been Fashion Week.
As runway shows in cities like New York, London, Milan and Paris look set to be cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, many designers are looking for alternate ways to present their upcoming looks.
On Monday (May 18), Raymond announced he will host a screening of the fashion film “American, Also” at a New York drive-in movie theatre this September. The production explores the creation of and preparation for the brand’s Spring 2020 show at Brooklyn’s Kings Theater.
The event will kick off a tour of drive-in’s throughout the U.S.
“It’s always been our mission to show the amount of thinking and laboring that goes behind putting together a collection,” Jean-Raymond said in a statement to Vogue. “We’ve been slowing down the speed of how much we produce and improving the quality of what we produce throughout the years. This film aims to show the love and care our entire company puts into every single moment we create and will show that we appreciate fashion as an art form and communication tool that we’ve used to embolden a community around us.”

Ansel Elgort Studies Journalism and Japanese in Preparation for 'Tokyo Vice'

    WENN

Impressed by the dedication the ‘Baby Driver’ actor showed to master his character, director Michael Mann claims that he is doing ‘a very immersive piece of work’.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Moviemaker Michael Mann was impressed with Ansel Elgort’s preparation for new movie “Tokyo Vice”, revealing the “Baby Driver” star studied journalism and Japanese to master his character.
The actor plays a newshound who clashes with a major crime boss in the new movie, which was six days into production in Tokyo when the coronavirus shut down the film, and Mann is keen to get back behind the camera after raving about his leading man.
“Ansel has been ferocious, in prep (preparation),” the director tells Deadline. “He wrote about three stories. Lowell Bergman, my friend from ‘The Insider’ (film), hooked us up with Jason Felch, who teaches journalism but was an investigative reporter at the LA (Los Angeles) Times, and James Queally, a great crime reporter at the LA Times. We spent a time in South Central, downtown, and Ansel did three different stories to learn the complications of that job…”
“He (also) threw himself in a four-hour, Japanese-language only classes every day (sic). After an intense four weeks, he can walk into a restaurant and have a conversation and Japanese-speakers say his accent is good…”
“I’m thrilled with what I’m seeing. It’s a very immersive piece of work he’s doing. That’s what I wanted from him, and it’s certainly what he’s done.”

Mindy Kaling Teams Up With Dan Goor to Write 'Legally Blonde 3'

    Instagram

Reese Witherspoon will return to reprise her iconic role as Elle Woods in the third installment of the film franchise, in addition to taking on the producer role alongside Marc Platt.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have been recruited to bring Reese Witherspoon’s beloved “Legally Blonde” character, Elle Woods, back to the big screen.
The duo have officially signed on to write MGM’s “Legally Blonde 3”, according to Deadline sources, while Witherspoon will star and produce alongside the franchise’s original producer, Marc Platt.
Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah pieced together the first screenplay for the film, but Deadline insiders insist Kaling and Goor have come up with a fresh story, which film bosses prefer.
Kaling is currently enjoying the success of Netflix hit “Never Have I Ever” and Hulu series “Four Weddings and a Funeral” – both of which she co-created and executive produced.
Meanwhile, Goor is the co-creator of TV comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”.

'Bachelor: LTYH' Finale Recap: One Couple Named as Winner After Stunning Performances

    ABC

The season 1 finale of the show kicks off with the remaining couples, Trevor-Jamie, Bri- Chris and Matt-Rudi, heading to Nashvile where they have to perform twice.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart” has announced its winners in the season finale which aired on Monday, May 18. The episode kicked off with the remaining couples, Trevor & Jamie, Bri & Chris and Matt & Rudi, heading to Nashvile where they had to perform twice.
The first one to go on a date was Matt and Rudi, who was concerned with their relationship as they weren’t on the same page. Matt later admitted to Rudi that he didn’t feel like their relationship was at the same level as the other two couples. Unsurprisingly, Rudi was upset and stormed out in tears.
Matt then apologized to Rudi. They later decided to leave the show without having a bad blood.
Meanwhile, Jamie and Trevor were bonding during their date. Trevor could be seen trying to assure Jamie that he was serious for their romance as she still had trust issues from her past relationships. The pair decided to spend the night together in the fantasy suite.
As for Bri and Chris, they were focused on continuing to build their emotional connection. The pair agreed not to go to the fantasy suit. However, they seemed awkward the next day as Bri was worried that the decision would change something in their relationship.
Jamie and Trevor were the first couple to perform. They opted to sing “Unchained Melody” and “Speechless” and ended the show with a kiss. Bri and Chris later followed it up, performing “Make You Feel My Love” and “Give Me Love”. The judges, Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick, Taye Diggs, Rita Wilson and Jewel, felt their genuine connection.
It was later time to reveal the winner with the decision being fully on the judges’ hands. Eventually, Bri and Chris were crowned as the winners!

Morrissey Fuming Over Sky Sports' Racist Branding of Him Despite On-Air Apology

    WENN

On his Morrissey Central website, the former The Smiths frontman posts a clip of journalist Sam Wallace making the potentially libellous comments on ‘Sunday Supplement’ show.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Morrissey received an on air apology from the host of U.K. TV sports show “Sunday Supplement” after he was branded a “racist” by a panellist on air.
The incident occurred as presenters filmed the soccer discussion show remotely on Sunday (May 17), and journalist Sam Wallace made comments he believed were not being broadcast referring to former fans abandoning Morrissey over his controversial political views.
“Morrissey’s been cancelled hasn’t he as he’s basically turned out to be a racist,” Wallace said.
Later on the show, host Geoff Shreeves issued an apology over the potentially libellous comments.
“At the start of this programme a brief private conversation was unintentionally broadcast,” he added. “It was not meant for broadcast and any conversation does not reflect the views of Sky Sports.”
The gaffe does not appear to have gone down well with the former The Smiths frontman as a video clip of Wallace’s comments was posted on his Morrissey Central website.
An angry caption above the footage reads, “SKY SPORTS AIR LIBELLOUS COMMENT ABOUT MORRISSEY: SUNDAY TELEGRAPH JOURNALIST SAM WALLACE EXPOSES MORRISSEY TO HATRED, RIDICULE AND INJURY.”
The star has come under fire for his political views, including his support of the far-right For Britain party, with some U.K. record shops removing his albums from sale.
However, he has strenuously denied accusations of racism and kicked protesters out of a show in Portland, Oregon, last October.

David Arquette 'Thrilled' to Be Back as Dewey Riley in 'Scream 5'

    Dimension Films

Production for the fifth instalment of the horror movie franchise is expected to begin in Wilmington, North Carolina in late 2020 with Tyler Gillett serving behind the lens.
    May 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – David Arquette has confirmed the “Scream” movie franchise is heading back to the big screen with him reprising his cop character Sheriff Dewey Riley.
The actor, who portrayed Riley in all four “Scream” movies, has revealed he’ll be reuniting with his “Scream family” once the coronavirus lockdown is over.
“I am thrilled to be playing Dewey again…,” he says. “Scream has been such a big part of my life, and for both the fans and myself, I look forward to honouring (late creator) Wes Craven’s legacy.”
Movie bosses at Spyglass Entertainment are in talks with more cast members with a view to adding them to the fifth “Scream” instalment, which will begin production in Wilmington, North Carolina later this year. Tyler Gillett will direct.
Neve Campbell and Matthew Lillard have both recently expressed interest in returning to the “Scream” franchise, with Lillard telling Entertainment Tonight he’s up for bringing back his character, Stuart, even though he was killed by Campbell’s Sidney Prescott in the first film back in 1996.
“I would love to come back,” he said. “Actors, for the most part, most of us are out here tap dancing as fast as we can to feed our families and get jobs. So if there was a chance to come back, that made sense, yes.”
Campbell previously told The Hollywood Reporter, “We’re just in the beginning phases of negotiations, and we’ll have to see where it goes with Covid and everything. There are a lot of things up in the air.”
