    Pierce Brosnan Recalls Meeting Drunk Quentin Tarantino Over Bond Movie Pitch

    The ‘GoldenEye’ actor spills on the encounter story he had with the ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ director during a live video interview that accompanied an online viewing party for his 1995 Bond film.

    AceShowbiz – Pierce Brosnan was once pitched a James Bond movie by Quentin Tarantino when both stars were drunk.
    Pierce last played 007 in 2002’s “Die Another Day” and the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” filmmaker told the Brit he had a great idea for the next film in the series, which he hoped to direct.
    “He wanted to meet me, so I went up to Hollywood one day from the beach, and I met him at the Four Seasons (hotel),” Pierce told U.K. Esquire in a live video interview that accompanied an online viewing party for his 1995 Bond film “GoldenEye” on Sunday, April 19.
    “I got there at 7pm; I like to be punctual,” Brosnan said. “7.15 came around. No Quentin. He was upstairs doing press. Someone sent over a martini, so I had a martini, and I waited till 7.30, and I thought, ‘Where the heck is he?’ Word came down, apologies, so I thought, ‘OK, I’ll have another martini’.”
    By the time Tarantino appeared for the meeting, Brosnan admitted he was “fairly smokered (drunk)” and shared that Tarantino quickly caught up with some cocktails.
    “He was pounding the table, saying, ‘You’re the best James Bond, I wanna do James Bond’,” Brosnan recalled, “and it was very close quarters in the restaurant and I thought, ‘Please calm down’, but we don’t tell Quentin Tarantino to calm down.”
    Pierce didn’t reveal any details of the pitch, although he did mention it to his Bond bosses, who weren’t keen on the idea. But the actor still wonders how the potential project might have turned out.
    “That would be a good one to watch,” he laughed.

    AceShowbiz – “The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart” returned with a new episode on Monday, April 20. In the second episode, there were eight men and eight women left, with Bri & Chris, Bekah & Danny and Jamie & Trevor among the solid couples. However, host Chris Harrison announced that there would be more newcomers later at the next rose ceremony.
    The episode saw Jamie getting the first date card, and she picked Trevor. They went to Venice Beach where they performed a romantic duet of “Girl Crush” on the boardwalk. Meanwhile at the mansion, first newbie Natascha arrived. Making things interesting was the fact that Natascha is friends with one of Trevor’s exes.
    She confronted Trevor as soon as he and Jamie went back at the mansion. She asked him about the cheating allegations leveled against him, but he denied. Travor claimed he never “physically cheated,” but he did “emotionally cheat” and lie. Other girls, meanwhile, told Jamie what was going on, prompting her to break down in tears.
    The next contestant to get the date card was Bri and she unsurprisingly chose Chris to go with her. They opted to go to Guitar Center and the date saw them connecting even further. At some point, Bri told Chris about her ex breaking off their engagement last year. She also said to Chris that she thought she was falling in love with him, and Chris assured her that he felt the same.
    Later, Trevor decided to come clean to Jamie about his past relationship. Jamie, who previously said to him that she was cheated on by her ex, was sad but she choose to keep the past in the past and focus on the future with Trevor.
    Julia, meanwhile, was in dilemma because of Sheridan and Brandon. Sheridan and Julia went on a date later as they appeared on a morning radio show and performed a duet of “The Bones” for the listeners. During the date, they also had a kiss.
    Another two new girls, Mariana and Ruby, arrived, with the former setting her eyes on Brandon almost immediately. Savannah was worried and when she got the next date card, she asked Brandon to go with her and he gladly accepted. They enjoyed the night at a jazz club and even performed together there.
    Meanwhile, Ryan and Natascha hit it off. Ryan and other contestant Rudi also had a steamy moment as they shared a kiss. However, Rudi didn’t think she had a chemistry with him so she went for Matt instead.
    At the rose ceremony, Chris gave his rose to Bri with Trevor giving his to Jamie. Ryan chose Natascha and Matt picked Rudi. Meanwhile, Danny went stronger with Bekah and Brandon presented his rose to Savannah. That made Sheridan choose Julia. That meant Mel, Mariana and Cheyenne were eliminated. However, it seemed like Brandon made things complicated when he told Julia that he was happy that she’s still around.

    Venice Film Festival 2020 to Proceed as Planned Despite Coronavirus Uncertainty

    AceShowbiz – The Venice Film Festival will go ahead as planned in September, with organisers promising to defy the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.
    Major film, music, television, and sports events have all been either cancelled or postponed this year, due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus, with the Cannes Film Festival now postponed until an unspecified date.
    However, although Italy has been one of the hardest hit countries by the virus, Roberto Cicutto, president of the Venice Biennale, the organisation that runs the Venetian festival, told Italian news agency ANSA on Monday, April 20 that it would not be postponed or cancelled.
    Cicutto also denied plans mooted by Cannes chief Thierry Fremaux to collaborate on a joint event after the indefinite postponement of the French cinema extravaganza.
    “With Cannes everything is possible,” Ciucutto said. “But I find it disconcerting that Thierry Fremaux keeps saying he is continuing to examine the situation and does not say what he wants to do. We are going forward with our program…there is no dialogue.”
    The Venice chief said he believed Italian government officials would permit them to open “six or seven” movie theatres for specially held festival screenings.

    Italy has been in lockdown since early March, with all cinemas and non-essential businesses closed as more than 23,000 have died from the disease, according to figures from America’s Johns Hopkins Institute. The crisis has, however, resulted in the postponement of Venice’s theatre and dance festivals.

    The “Chi” actress Anthony has signed on to produce The Honeybeez of ASU, based on the performance troupe at Alabama State University, for her production company LaLaLand as part of a 10-episode Snap Originals series for the social media platform.
    The Honeybeez of ASU, which follows the dance squad and their coach during the highs and lows of the 2019-2020 competitive season, launches on 25 April (20).

    AceShowbiz – Joe Cole wants his “Gangs of London” co-star Lucian Msamati to appear in a new James Bond movie.
    The “Peaky Blinders” star has been tipped as a potential replacement for Daniel Craig in the iconic spy franchise, alongside the likes of Tom Hardy and James Norton, but he thinks Lucian is a far better bet.
    Speaking to British music site NME, Cole said: “I think it would be Lucian Msamati… All day long. I’d love to see Lucian rocking the 007 tux.”
    Co-star Sope Dirisu added: “We’ve already seen him in a tux. Watch the series and you’ll see Lucian in a tux with a pistol and a silencer.”
    “He could play a bad guy, probably,” Cole replied. “Lucian for the villain in the next Bond movie.”

    The new James Bond movie, “No Time to Die”, has been pushed back to November from its initial April release date, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

    AceShowbiz – “Harry Potter” fans on lockdown have been given the opportunity to earn cash from the comfort of their sofa.
    EDsmart bosses will be paying five Potter buffs $1,000 (£799) to binge-watch all the movies in the Wizarding World, including the two “Fantastic Beasts” movies.
    In total, that’s 10 movies which will take 25 hours and six minutes to watch.
    Applications are open until 15 May (20) and those who are interested must be “an active, outgoing social media personality”, as well as a fan of the Potter world.
    The lucky five will receive the eight Daniel Radcliffe films on Blu-Ray, Harry Potter Butterbeer Caramel Corn, themed candy, a Gryffindor snuggie, a Hogwarts alumni tumbler, and a $100 (£80) Grubhub gift card.
    In return, they will have to document their experiences and rank the films from best to worst.

    AceShowbiz – “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” season 12 aired its finale on Sunday, April 19. The explosive episode featured rivals NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore taking their beef further with them dissing and dropping bombshell claims about each other.
    Following their below-the-belt jabs, Kenya called NeNe “a bully” who “has very few friends.” That seemed to be the last straw for NeNe, who later made a shocking allegation about Kenya’s marriage to her estranged husband Marc Daly.
    “I don’t talk about her on red carpets, and I can say a lot of things,” the 52-year-old Bravo personality began. Insinuating that Kenya and Marc weren’t official, she continued, “Kenya’s marriage license has never ever been found by no one. She ain’t JLo (Jennifer Lopez). She ain’t [Beyonce Knowles], and they found their marriage license but they can’t find hers.”
    According to NeNe, it only proved that “they are not legally married.” She added, “So there is nothing to divorce. I heard it was a handshake and an agreement that they get together and have a baby and she paid for them.”
    “I am not anywhere talking about that because that’s her baby,” NeNe alleged. “You see me on a red carpet asking where her eggs were found, saying it was Marc’s sperm and some eggs that they bought or found out of the country somewhere — that’s why the baby looks so much like him.”
    She added, “I’m happy for her to be a mother. If she found an egg outside up under a chicken, I think it’s great that she had a baby.”
    Later during Kandi Burruss’ baby shower, the two were also involved in an argument as Kenya accused NeNe of trying to spit on her. Clapping back, NeNe said, “If I wanted to spit on you, you would know you have been spit on.” Co-star Cynthia Bailey then defended NeNe, “I saw you throwing popcorn but I did not see you spitting.”
    But the fight upset Kandi. “I get this but everybody is leaving and I never got to introduce my surrogate and this is taken over,” she told the ladies. “I’m sick of them,” she added to the producers. “It’s like, ‘Do you not get this is an important moment for me?’ ”

    The new shows will support education and learning whilst children are at home amid the COVID-19 crisis, with Mohit Bakaya, Controller of BBC Radio 4, insisting he wants “the station to do more for families to listen and learn together.”
    “We will present entertaining and informative programmes – new and archive – that are closely aligned with the school curriculum,” he explained. “The BBC is supporting the nation with the biggest education package we’ve ever undertaken, and with these new programmes and selected highlights from our archive Radio 4 is helping people continue their learning as part of the BBC’s expanded education efforts.”
    “Homeschool History With Greg Jenner”, from the producers of much-loved Radio 4 podcast “You’re Dead to Me”, will provide 15-minute history lessons, with the “Horrible Histories” star describing the programme as a “short, lively, and funny narrative history aided by cheerful sound effects.”
    “Every episode is written in collaboration with an expert historian, and delivers a snappy lesson, with a mini quiz at the end, to help kids fall in love with history,” he said.
    Stuart Maconie will host quiz “My Generation”, which focuses on the events and culture of different decades within living memory, while “Open Book and Front Row” is a series of specially-commissioned introductions by leading contemporary writers to nine great works of English literature, all of which are key texts in the GCSE syllabus.
    Highlights from the “In Our Time” archive, exploring subjects particularly relevant to school and university students, including Marie Antoinette, Feathered Dinosaurs, Carl Friedrich Gauss “prince of mathematicians,” and “Wuthering Heights”, will also be broadcast, along with the popular science series, “The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry”, which will investigate scientific mysteries relevant to the curriculum.
