    'Are You the One?' Star Gianna Hammer Slams Producers for Allegedly Enabling Sexual Assault on Her

    When opening up about her experience, the season 5 star of the dating show says she was ‘drugged’ and persuaded by producers to allow the assaulter to stay instead of kicking him out.

    Gianna Hammer has some people to blame for her horrific experience on “Are You the One?”. Claiming that she was once “drugged” by producers before being “sexually assaulted” by one of the contestants while filming in the Dominican Republic, the season 5 star of the MTV dating series called them out for enabling the incident on her.

    When speaking to The Daily Beast, the 25-year-old divulged that anyone from the production or the network has yet to contact her about the ordeal. “I guess [I] really thought about it and was like, ‘Wow, that was really fucked up,’ ” she said. “They should have never left me in an unsafe position. I’m definitely a changed person after it all.”

    Gianna revealed she was assaulted by the unidentified cast member after three producers allegedly gave her one of her antidepressant medications to “calm down” during a drunken fight. “I was super confused, super nervous,” she said about the morning after the incident.

    “I remember being shaky and not knowing what had gone on or if I was in trouble. That’s when they asked me if I remember anything that happened last night. I said no,” the reality star added. “They kind of start going over what had happened… and that’s when I started really thinking and seeing some type of flashes.”

    Gianna additionally noted that she was persuaded by producers for Lighthearted Entertainment to allow the assaulter to stay instead of kicking him out. She mentioned that the only solutions given were him being ordered to sleep on the couch and cut them both off from drinking alcohol for the rest of filming.

    Gianna’s accusations, however, were then shut down by the producers. “We are confident that any review will confirm the safety protocols that we have long had in place on the sets of ‘Are You The One?’,” the company stated to the outlet. “We deny the allegations made by the former contestant; throughout the eight seasons of the show, no contestant has reported an incident of sexual assault to Lighthearted.”

    Also responding to Gianna’s claims was MTV. A spokesperson of the network told the publication in a statement, “We take these issues very seriously and have paused production/casting to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations, the third party production company and further review our internal safety protocols.”

    Producer Scott Rudin has apologized for his past poor behavior after he was exposed as a bad tempered bully in a new expose. The mogul is taking a step back from the film and theater industry to take stock of his life after he was hit with multiple allegations of workplace bullying.

    “After a period of reflection, I’ve made the decision to step back from active participation on our Broadway productions, effective immediately,” he said in a statement. “My roles will be filled by others from the Broadway community and in a number of cases, from the roster of participants already in place on those shows.”

    The news comes a week after accusers told The Hollywood Reporter Rudin threw glass bowls, a stapler and a baked potato at former employees, while smashing one assistant’s hand with a computer.

    “Much has been written about my history of troubling interactions with colleagues, and I am profoundly sorry for the pain my behavior caused to individuals, directly and indirectly,” Rudin, whose hit film productions include “The Social Network” and “No Country for Old Men”, added. “I am now taking steps that I should have taken years ago to address this behavior.”

    Actors’ Equity Association officials have also urged Rudin to release employees from nondisclosure agreements in an effort to create “truly safe and harassment-free theatrical workspaces on Broadway and beyond,” according to Deadline.

    “We have heard from hundreds of members that these allegations are inexcusable, and everyone deserves a safe workplace whether they are a union member or not,” a statement by AEA president Kate Shindle and executive director Mary McColl reads.

    Meanwhile, at the end of last week (ends April 16), Tony Award-winning “Moulin Rouge!” star Karen Olivo announced she would not be returning to the Broadway show when it re-opens after the COVID pandemic to protest what she called the industry’s silence regarding Rudin.

    “I could easily go back to the show and make a lot of money, but I still wouldn’t be able to control what I was putting out into the world,” Olivo wrote on Instagram. “And what I’m seeing in this space right now, with our industry, is that everybody is scared, and nobody is really doing a lot of the stuff that needs to be done. People aren’t speaking out.”

    Justin Bieber is reportedly set to make a cameo appearance in the “Friends” reunion.

    The pop star has been convinced by the show’s producers to wear character Ross Geller’s famous Spudnik potato costume for the upcoming HBO Max special.

    A TV source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper, “Justin was honoured to be involved and didn’t mind sending himself up wearing a ridiculous costume. It was all run like a military operation to keep details under wraps, and Justin nailed it.”

    His casting is a big coup for bosses at HBO Max, who were forced to delay filming by a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

    The original stars David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, and Matt LeBlanc are all expected to return for the much-anticipated reunion.

    Details of the project are still sketchy, but Jennifer previously said “it’s not scripted.” The Rachel Green depicter teased, “I will not be Rachel, although I kind of am. Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them. Not really. But yeah.”

    Co-star Lisa also hinted that she would not be reprising her TV character, “I will not be Phoebe.”

    David later gave a bit more clues on what to expect, “We are all ourselves, although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something.”

    While delays were usually considered as a setback, Jennifer thought otherwise, “You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re stuck with us for life guys.”

    “Game of Thrones” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is getting into the popular true crime podcast business – he’ll produce and star in new scripted series “Mask of Sanity”.

    The actor and Joe Derrick, his producing partner at Ill Kippers Productions, will oversee the audio series, based on the riveting real-life story of a journalist on the trail of a serial killer, according to Deadline. Coster-Waldau has not confirmed which role he will play.

    “Mask of Sanity is a great example of the storytelling that Joe Derrick and myself want Ill Kippers to make,” Nikolaj shares in a statement. “Entertaining, unexpected and thought-provoking, keeping the audience guessing right to the end… We can’t wait to share it with listeners everywhere through Audible.”

    The series will debut later this year (21).

    Meanwhile, Rami Malek is plugged in for a second season of podcast thriller “Blackout” after the Oscar winner’s hit apocalyptic series was downloaded more than 12 million times.

    The “Bohemian Rhapsody” star will reprise his role of Simon Itani, a DJ-turned-activist trying to cope amid a massive power cut.

    “How To Get Away With Murder” star Aja Naomi King is joining the cast for the show’s second run, which will be written and co-directed by Jeremy Novick and Stef Abel Horowitz. Rami is also on board as a producer.

    Because the podcast’s first season was so popular, “Blackout” is also in line for a potential TV series commission although there is no word yet on whether or not Rami will appear in a small screen version.

    The podcast’s second season is due to debut this summer (21).

    Actor Fabien Frankel has landed a starring role on HBO’s upcoming “Game of Thrones” prequel.

    The Brit, who appeared opposite “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke in 2019’s “Last Christmas”, has been cast as Ser Criston Cole – a member of King Viserys I Targaryen’s Kingsguard – on the upcoming “House of the Dragon”.

    In a post on his blog, author George R.R. Martin described the character as a knight whose bold actions helped pave the way to civil war.

    “He is the common-born son of the steward to the Lord of Blackhaven,” he teased. “He has no claim to lands or titles, all he has is his honor and his skill with sword and lance.”

    “He is a challenger, a champion, cheered by the commons, beloved of the ladies. He is a lover [or is he?], a seducer [or is he?], a betrayer [or is he?], a breaker of hearts and a maker of kings.”

    “Welcome to Westeros, Fabien. And do keep that sword sharp.”

    Set 300 years before the events in “Game of Thrones”, “House of the Dragon” is based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood.” It will tell the story of House Targaryen, the ancestors of Clarke’s character, Daenerys Targaryen.

    Production is expected to start in the U.K. in April with a planned 2022 release. Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal will share the showrunner duties. The former will serve as the pilot and additional episodes’ director.

    Frankel is added to the cast ensemble that included Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Eve Best and Sonoya Mizuno.

    “The Queen’s Gambit” star Jacob Fortune-Lloyd has been cast as The Beatles manager Brian Epstein in biopic “Midas Man”.

    Jonas Akerlund will direct the project, which is slated to film in and around London, Liverpool, and the U.S. later this year.

    Brit Fortune-Lloyd played chess player-turned-journalist D.L. Townes alongside Anya Taylor-Joy in “The Queen’s Gambit”.

    Confirming the casting news on Friday, April 16, Akerlund told Deadline, “It is a tall order to fill Brian’s shoes, and Jacob is the perfect performer. He is charismatic and dark at the same time, balancing that emotional range where you’re not sure if you’re in love with him or terribly empathetic with the inner turmoil of his character. No one could bring Brian to life better.”

    The actor added, “It’s a huge privilege to play Brian Epstein, a man who made such an important and lasting cultural impact, but who struggled to find a secure place in a world he helped to shape.”

    About Fortune-Lloyd’s casting, Beattie was quoted by The Guide Liverpool as saying, “We’ve found our Eppy, and I couldn’t be happier. Jacob is a class act. A next generation star.”

    “He has the intellect, charm and the acting chops to bring Brian Epstein back to life and place him where he always wanted to be: on the movie screen,” the producer added. “And I think Eppy would approve of being portrayed by such a dashing dapper chap.”

    Ice Cube is “dodging” a new documentary about his friend and N.W.A bandmate Eazy-E’s death, according to the late rapper’s daughter.

    Ebie Wright explores the theory her father was murdered – and did not die from AIDS – in “A Ruthless Scandal: No More Lies”, and she is urging Ice Cube to stop “ducking” her calls after she asked him to participate.

    “There’s so many people that are talking on this about my father and are in support of what I’m doing, and have been there for me, and just have a lot of great things to say about him, and not just even great things, but also just telling their story,” she tells TooFab.

    “The only person that actually matters to this story I’m telling, who hasn’t talked on it so far… is Ice Cube. It really breaks my heart that he hasn’t spoken on this yet, because I grew up with his sons and I have a really good relationship with them.”

    Wright claims Ice Cube’s actor son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., told her that his dad would be willing to talk to her for the project.

    “He was gonna do whatever for me and he was down,” she says. “Since then, when we tried to book him to do the interview, he’s been ducking and dodging.”

    On the possible reason why Cube avoided the interview, Wright confessed, “To be honest, I don’t know why Ice Cube wouldn’t talk about my dad with me.” She added, “I don’t know because again, he’s been on many platforms large and small, you know talking about Eazy-E. So I really don’t know. I don’t have the answer. We’d have to ask him.”
