'The Real': Amanda Seales Thinks Jussie Smollett Did 'Noble' Thing With Fake Hate-Crime Attack

    WENN/Avalon/Joseph Marzullo

Dubbing the crime as a victimless one, the TV host compares it to Emmett Till, a black teenager who was lynched in 1955 after being falsely accused of making an offensive remark to a white woman.
    Feb 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – “The Real” co-host Amanda Seales apparently thinks that Jussie Smollett’s fake a hate-crime attack last year is not an entirely a bad thing. During the Wednesday, February 12 episode of the talk show, Amanda offered a surprising defense of the disgraced “Empire” star.
“Even if it was a hoax for the sake of the bringing attention to this, then I’m like, that’s low-key noble,” the host said of TV star, who made headlines after faking hate crimes against African-Americans.
“Like, I’m just at my wits end about us centering situations like this and wanting to make people have to pay,” she added, referencing the case of Emmett Till, a black teenager who was lynched in 1955 after being falsely accused of making an offensive remark to a white woman. “Like, Emmett Till’s accuser was alive — I think she’s still alive.”
“This young man died, and she announced that she was lying about it — they should have put the shackles on her that day! And she’s walking around!” she argued.
Amanda then said it was different from Jussie’s case which she deemed was a victimless crime. “So, no one was hurt in this situation, nobody — you know what they’re mad about? Their time. Their resources being used,” she explained. “Taxpayers resources are being used every day to imprison people who have done nothing but be an addict. So I don’t want to hear about Jussie Smollett.”
Co-host Adrienne Houghton then chimed in, “Okay, but what do we do about people that feel that, ‘Well, what if a hate crime really happens to me, and now because of what Jussie Smollett did, now they don’t believe me.’ If this one instance is what makes them not believe you, baby, that’s a lie that they’re telling ourselves. We have lived in a nation where they don’t believe hate crimes every day. Every single day.”

“They got a smack on the wrist for all these people and they can’t give a smack on the wrist for Jussie Smollett?” Amanda responded. “Like, because they’re saying it’s a whole big thing? I’m just — I don’t believe it. We look at black men who are constantly getting the book thrown at them all the time.”

'RHONJ': Teresa Insists Joe Giudice Cheats on Her After the Discovery of His 2nd Cell Phone

    WENN/TNYF

‘I was like, the perfect, perfect f***ing wife,’ the ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star says, before revealing that she has ‘a lot of resentment’ to her estranged husband.
    Feb 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Teresa Giudice believed that Joe Giudice had been unfaithful to her. In a new episode of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” that aired on Wendesday, February 12, Teresa revealed that she had “a lot of resentment” to Joe.
“I was like, the perfect, perfect f***ing wife,” the mother-of-four told her co-stars in a new preview. Frank Catania, ex-husband of current cast member Dolores Catania, then asked Teresa if he was as good of a husband to her as she was a wife to him.
“Listen, he had a separate cell phone with one girl,” she shared, sending shock waves throughout the room. “I found it! It was his ex-girlfriend’s sister. He said she was going through her divorce. He was helping her trying to sell her house.”
Teresa, however, couldn’t leave Joe. “Like, I quit my job. Gia was 3. What was I gonna do?” she asked. “I should have left then, right? I didn’t because he denied it to me. I believed him.” Joe Gorga, Teresa’s younger brother, then asked, “Today, do you believe he cheated on you?” Taking a pause, Teresa responded, “Yeah, now I do. … Sometimes, you’re blind.”
Melissa Gorga, who is never shy about criticizing Joe before, also weighed in on the matter. “What the news is here, is that Teresa’s finally admitting it,” she said during her confessional, looking unsurprised by Teresa’s shocking revelation about Joe’s alleged infidelity.
“We were never besties… I never thought he was the greatest. My husband unfollowed him on Instagram because he thinks [Joe Giudice is] crazy on Instagram,” she continued. “It’s time to make new lives. I think they’ve both accepted it. The only thing everybody was holding on for is, obviously, the kids, because they want their kids to have their parents together.”

Andy Cohen Claps Back at Hater Accusing Him of Treating 'Real Housewives' Stars as 'Disposable'

    Bravo

Fans agreed with Andy, claiming that new faces were needed to make everything fresh, while some others name former Housewives they’d want to see returning.
    Feb 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Bravo is making a big change by firing several OG Housewives including Tamra Judge and Vicki Gulvanson from “The Real Housewives of Orange County”. The move seemingly didn’t sit well with one avid fan who came for executive producer and host Andy Cohen for the decision.
“HW wives have made millions for you,” the fan tweeted on Wednesday, February 12 on Twitter. “I don’t appreciate you treating them as disposable. If you need a shake up, replace the host. Thx.”
Andy noticed the tweet and replied hotly to the user, “Ok Sebastian. You can produce the show and fire me and just keep everybody the same every year and see how it goes.”

Fans agreed with Andy, claiming that new faces were needed to make everything fresh. “I mean he’s right, these narratives are getting predictable and some of the ladies think they’re untouchable new blood is necessary,” one fan noted. Echoing the sentiment, someone added, “I was sick of them anyway. Orange county needed new faces.”
One person, meanwhile, demanded Bravo to make a cast shake-up on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, saying, “Please replace some of these ATL Housewives. The same drama every season.” Another user wanted the show to bring back Phaedra Parks. “Im only here to ask to bring back Phaedra. That is all,” the person said.
The firing of some “Real Housewives” cast members apparently got Kandi Burruss anxious. “She is worried that her time on ‘RHOA’ is coming to an end,” an insider explained in a previous report. The source noted that the reality star recently “pitched a spinoff show about her growing family and her businesses.”
“Kandi wants to stay on TV, and she thinks her own family drama is something that viewers would want to see,” the insider continued. Thankfully, her family was fully supportive for her should Bravo greenlight the planned show. “Mama Joyce, Todd [Tucker] and her manager, Don Juan, are all on board,” said the source.

'Parasite' Director Explains Why He Has to Forbid One Cast Member From Doing Publicity Tour

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza

Oscar winner Bong Joon Ho admits that his requirement for Park Myung Hoon to stay on the sidelines during the promotion of the acclaimed thriller movie had given the actor a hard time.
    Feb 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – “Parasite” director Bong Joon Ho had to hide the identity of one of his stars while promoting the film, so as not to ruin the big twist.
Park Myung Hoon was forbidden from taking part in the movie’s publicity tour, because his director wanted viewers to be surprised when his character appears.
Bong tells WENN, “It was so important to make sure that the second half of the film remained a secret, so we had all the actors and crew members sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) particularly from the part where the original housekeeper comes back and rings the doorbell.”
“After that we made sure that none of that was revealed to the public and ever since Cannes we put in a lot of effort to keep that a secret. Particularly the actor, who is in the bunker, who plays the husband (of the housekeeper).”
“He went to the Cannes Film Festival, but had to remain hidden. Even with the premiere screening, he had to be in a dark corner on the second floor and had to leave five minutes before the film ended and before the standing ovation to avoid all the reporters, because his existence in itself is a spoiler. He had a hard time.”
“Three weeks after the film was released we really focused on introducing him as part of the cast.”

Olivia Colman to Star Opposite Peter Sarsgaard in Maggie Gyllenhaal's Directorial Debut

‘The Crown’ star has been added to the cast ensemble, which includes Dakota Johnson, for the movie adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s novel, ‘The Lost Daughter’.
    Feb 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Maggie Gyllenhaal has snagged Oscar winner Olivia Colman and her husband Peter Sarsgaard for her directorial debut.
The two actors will join Jessie Buckley and Dakota Johnson in “The Lost Daughter”, Gyllenhaal’s adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s novel.
Gyllenhaal is also among the producers.
In the film, Colman will portray a college professor and Johnson a young mum.
“When I finished reading Elena Ferrante’s ‘The Lost Daughter’, I felt that something secret and true had been said out loud,” Gyllenhaal explains, “and I was both disturbed and comforted by that.”
“I immediately thought how much more intense the experience would be in a movie theatre, with other people around. And I set to work on this adaptation. I find that the script has attracted other people interested in exploring these secret truths about motherhood, sexuality, femininity, desire. And I’m thrilled to continue my collaboration with such brave and exciting actors and filmmakers.”

Natalie Portman Reacts to Rose McGowan's Criticism Over Her Oscars Dress, Agrees It Is Not 'Brave'

    WENN/Adriana M. Barraza/Avalon

The ‘Black Swan’ star responds to Rose McGowan’s accusation about her being ‘an actress acting the part of someone who cares’ after she appears at Oscars wearing a gown with the names of female directors on it.
    Feb 13, 2020
AceShowbiz – Natalie Portman is not one who turns a blind eye to criticism. Shortly after Rose McGowan labeled her “an actress acting the part of someone who cares” as a response to the protest cape she wore to the 92nd annual Academy Awards, the “Black Swan” star issued her own statement that addressed the backlash.
Agreeing with the former “Charmed” actress, the Oscar winner accepted that “it is inaccurate to call [her] ‘brave’ for wearing a garment with women’s names on it.” She continued, “Brave is a term I more strongly associate with actions like those of the women who have been testifying against Harvey Weinstein the last few weeks, under incredible pressure.”
“The past few years have seen a blossoming of directing opportunities for women due to the collective efforts of many people who have been calling out the system,” the 38-year-old went on to note. “The gift has been these incredible films. I hope that what was intended as a simple nod to them does not distract from their great achievements.”
“It is true I’ve only made a few films with women. In my long career, I’ve only gotten the chance to work with female directors a few times. I’ve made shorts, commercials, music videos and features with Marya Cohen, Mira Nair, Rebecca Zlotowski, Anna Rose Holmer, Sofia Coppola, Shirin Neshat and myself. Unfortunately, the unmade films I have tried to make are a ghost history.”
The wife of Benjamin Millepied then listed the challenges female films have to overcome to get made at studios, independently financed, distributed and even recognized for their achievements. Despite the obstacles, she declared, “So I want to say, I have tried, and I will keep trying. While I have not yet been successful, I am hopeful that we are stepping into a new day.”
Portman turned heads on the red carpet of the 2020 Oscars on February 9. Wearing a Dior gown with a cape that is embroidered with the names of snubbed female directors, she told The Los Angeles Times, “I wanted to recognize the women who were not recognized for their incredible work this year in my subtle way.”
The “Jackie” actress’ fashion statement, however, earned her critiques including one from McGowan who tool to Facebook to speak out against her. “Some thoughts on Natalie Portman and her Oscar ‘protest,’ ” she wrote. “The kind of protest that gets rave reviews from the mainstream media for its bravery. Brave? No, not by a long shot. More like an actress acting the part of someone who cares. As so many of them do.”
“I find Portman’s type of activism deeply offensive to those of us who actually do the work. I’m not writing this out of bitterness, I am writing out of disgust. I just want her and other actresses to walk the walk,” the 46-year-old actress elaborated on the reasons of her disapproval. She also criticized Portman for hiring only one female director under her production company.
“I am singling [Portman] out because you are the latest in a long line of actresses who are acting the part of a woman who cares about other women,” McGowan continued. “There is no law that says you need to hire women, work with women, or support women. By all means, you do you. But I am saying stop pretending you’re some kind of champion for anything other than yourself.”

“To say it is a dream come true to once again see #RickMoranis on the big screen is the understatement of the decade,” Gad wrote in a post on Twitter. “But to say, I get an up seat view of him returning to play one of his most iconic roles is the understatement of the Century. Welcome back hero!”

Report: Romeo Miller Exits 'Growing Up Hip Hop' Due to 'Disagreement' With VH1

    Instagram

Romeo, who also serves as one of the show’s executive producers, removes the show on social media as she no longer puts ‘Growing Up Hip Hop’ on the bio of his Instagram account.
    Feb 12, 2020
AceShowbiz – It seems like fans will no longer be seeing Romeo Miller on “Growing Up Hip Hop”. A new report suggests that Romeo, who also serves as one of the executive producers of the VH1 TV series, has walked away from the show.
TheJasmineBrand claims that Romeo has exited the show due to a disagreement with production or the network.” a source shares to the site, “Romeo nor his father (Master P) would never go against their morals for money for any network.”
The insider continues saying, “He hasn’t been on much of this season and is focusing on his many businesses, career and his love life with new girlfriend. Romeo has nothing against the cast, they’re just growing apart and he rather explore the truth not a fake love triangle that the network is dragging out.”
Romeo also removes the show on social media. He no longer puts “Growing Up Hip Hop” on the bio of his Instagram account.
This arrives after his drama with “Growing Up Hip-Hop” co-star Angela Simmons after she was rumored to be asking Romeo to be the father figure of her 3-year-old son SJ after his father Sutton Tennyson died. Angela denied the rumors during her appearance on “The Real” earlier this month.
“See, that’s a very touchy and weird subject because I would never ask him or anyone to step up for my son,” she told Loni Love. “We have an amazing family. My dad. My brothers. I wouldn’t do that. I find that really strange if he said that.”
When pressed by Adrienne Houghton, Angela went on insisting that she never had those expectations of Romeo. “No, I wouldn’t ask anyone that. It’s an honor to be my son’s father or anyone who is going to be a role model to him. No way,” she shared.
The feud between Romeo and Angela started after Angela said she never heard from Romeo after the death of her son’s father. “After everything happened with me and my child’s father and what happened with my son, [Romeo] was like, ‘I’m going to be there for you,’ and he said this on TV,” Angela said during a previous interview with The Breakfast Club.
“If you say that — and I don’t care if we’re filming or not — really mean that because that really means a lot to me especially with what I have on my plate,” she went on saying at the time. “And to me, he didn’t step up at all. I don’t expect nobody to do nothing for me; that’s fine, but he didn’t step up. I still haven’t heard from him ’til this day. We’ve been in the same room and I haven’t heard from him… It’s not like this is something that’s fake.”
