'Dancing with the Stars' Is Renewed for Season 30 – See Who Are Returning

    ABC

In the upcoming season of the long-running dancing competition show, Tyra Banks is set to reprise her role as host, replacing longtime host Tom Bergeron and co-host Erin Andrews for the second time.

    Mar 31, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“Dancing with the Stars” will be returning for a 30th season. On Tuesday, March 30, ABC officially announced that the long-running dancing competition show had been renewed for another season.

In the upcoming season, Tyra Banks is set to reprise her role as host, replacing longtime host Tom Bergeron and co-host Erin Andrews for the second time. Season 30 will also see Len Goodman returning as a full-time judge after he missed some episodes of season 29 due to COVID-19 travel ban.

Joining Len as judges for season 30 are Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. This will be the second time for Derek to serve as a judge on the popular show.

Ahead of season 29, the show received backlash for firing Tom and Erin, tapping Tyra to replace the beloved co-hosts. As for Tyra, the “America’s Next Top Model” alum previously admitted that taking over the role was challenging for her.

“I think the challenge is stepping into shoes. I mean, you know, Tom Bergeron and Erin. They lead the show, this is one of the top-rated shows in the world,” the 47-year-old shared to Us Weekly. “So [I’m] respecting the stage that they have set and then adding my icing to that. I feel confident about that, but of course, it’s a challenge, but I don’t back away from challenges.”

Her first season as the host wasn’t sailing smooth as she made some mistakes during some live episodes. She was criticized when she mistakenly mixed up the bottom two couples in danger of elimination. The model named Anne Heche & Keo Motsepe and Vernon Davis & Peta Murgatroid as the bottom two couples before she clarified that it was actually Monica Aldama and Val Chmerkovskiy who were supposed to be on the bottom two alongside Anne and Keo.

“Wowzers. Live TV. Wrong name on cards. So challenging to deal with moments like these. But we power through,” Tyra addressed the mishap on Twitter.

Britney Spears Calls Out Media Over 'Framing' Doc After Posting Bizarre Skull Baby Pic

    Instagram

The ‘…Baby One More Time’ hitmaker admits to being ’embarrassed’ by ‘the light they put me in’ as she reveals that she ‘cried for two weeks’ due to the Hulu documentary.

    Mar 31, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Britney Spears has broken her silence on “Framing Britney Spears” documentary that shed light on her ongoing conservatorship battle with her father Jamie Spears. While public support has been flowing for her in the wake of the Hulu/The New York Times documentary, she appears to be not a fan of the work.

Taking to her Instagram page on Tuesday, March 30, the pop star admitted to feeling “embarrassed” by the documentary and crying for two weeks over it, although she hasn’t watched it herself. “My life has always been very speculated …,” she began lamenting in a caption of a video showing her dancing cheerfully to “Crazy” by Aerosmith, “watched … and judged really my whole life !!!”

“For my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life to feel wild and human and alive !!!” she explained her act in the video. “I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people !!! It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media… and I still am till this day!!!! As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people !!!”

Addressing the doc specifically, she called out the media for the way she was put in the limelight. “I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in …,” she shared. “I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!!”

      See also…

The 39-year-old went on revealing how she consoles herself, “I do what I can in my own spirituality with myself to try and keep my own joy … love … and happiness !!!! Every day dancing brings me joy !!! I’m not here to be perfect … perfect is boring … I’m here to pass on kindness !!!!”

One day before weighing on the “Framing” documentary, Britney confused her fans and followers for posting a bizarre photo of a skull baby. In the black-and-white image seemingly taken a long time ago, a woman wearing a Victorian-era gown is seen holding a baby with a bare skull for a head.

“Devil is in the details [smiling devil emoji] …. wouldn’t want this baby to hit me one more time [three laughing emojis] !!!!” she captioned it. The singer uploaded the photo amid her posts for what she dubbed a “Red” campaign.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Grateful to Ray Liotta for Putting Her at Ease During Risky Movie Scene

    WENN

The ‘Ghost Whisperer’ alum credits her ‘Heartbreakers’ co-star for being ‘the kindest, sweetest man’ on the set, helping ease her nerves over the filming of a risky scene.

    Mar 31, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Jennifer Love Hewitt will forever be grateful to Ray Liotta for putting her at ease on the set of “Heartbreakers” after having to spend hours filming a risque scene by his “nether regions.”

The actress landed her breakout movie role as Page Conners in the 2001 romantic comedy after starting her career as a Disney star, and she recalls being petrified of messing up one particular sequence with Liotta, in which her character’s hair gets caught up in the zip of his trousers.

“I remember, one of my very first days of work, being attached to Ray’s nether regions for eight hours, so it was a very risque part for me at the time,” she remembered.

“It was very, very daunting for me – not because of what I was doing in the scene but because I was aware of who he was. I was such a big fan. I was so nervous to mess it up.”

However, Jennifer was immediately calmed by her co-star’s kindness.

“I just remember meeting Ray, and instantly I felt so much better,” she shared. “He was the kindest, sweetest man who made me feel so comfortable.”

Liotta wasn’t the only industry veteran helping to look out for the actress on the funny film, in which she had to don a series of revealing outfits.

Jennifer said, “When I walked in for my first fitting, I thought all the dresses were tops and didn’t know where the bottoms were. I remember watching them (stylists) unpack some of my things, and they were in Ziploc bags, and I was like, ‘My clothes… are in there?’ ”

“And we all had a really big laugh about the fact that I just wore tiny clothes the whole movie. I felt like a Barbie doll. It was great.”

Despite showing some skin, crewmembers were conscious not to let Jennifer feel too exposed during the shoot.

She told Vulture, “It’s such a physical movie. I mean, she (her character) was constantly tripping and falling down.”

“One thing that really stood out to me when we did the movie is how much people were looking out for me and really making sure that I never felt weird or on display.”

“I remember there were more than a couple of people that were like, ‘OK, let’s make sure boobs are in place and we’re not seeing underwear.’ ”

Sylvester Stallone Developing 'Rocky' Prequel TV Series

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The original star of the ‘Rocky’ franchise is working on an origin story for a potential television series as the movie spinoff starring Michael B. Jordan flourishes on the big screen.

    Mar 31, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Sylvester Stallone is planning to take his “Rocky” franchise to TV by writing a treatment for a potential prequel series.

The action man gave fans a glimpse at his latest project on Monday (29Mar21) by sharing pages of his handwritten notes for the show, which he is eager to pitch to online platform bosses.

“I started out this morning by writing a treatment for a Rocky prequel for streaming. Ideally 10 episodes for a few seasons to really get to the heart of the Characters in there younger years,” he captioned the image.

“Here is a small portion of how my creative writing Process starts … Hope it happens (sic).”

The notes were titled, “Treatment for Rocky prequel series,” and begins with the scenario set-up: “Imagine a time machine that will simply transport us back to the origins of Rocky, a cinematic world brimming with characters that have been beloved by people around the world for nearly five decades!”

Stallone explains the origin story would take fans back to the 1960s and “the most transformative generation in modern history,” citing the events of the moon landing, the civil rights movement, the assassinations of U.S. President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Cold War, among many other milestones.

      See also…

“Needless to say the 60s was a dynamic time,” he wrote. “Yet among all this Social Seismic Activity, we drop in on the rather plain life of 17-year-old Robert ‘Rocky’ Balboa.”

“When we first met Rocky in 1976, he was a very lost soul… We now see this young man struggling like all young people trying to find their place.”

On Tuesday, Stallone followed up the project teaser by sharing typed up notes and dialogue for the proposed show, which he reveals has already received the backing of studio bosses at MGM.

“I KNOW my hand writing is very awkward. But so what it achieved the goal,” he began in the caption. “But I decided to show a little bit more of the creative process for the Rocky Prequel but this time it’s a lot more legible… Tell me what you think. I’m excited. MGM is excited. Hope you are too (sic).”

Stallone made his big screen debut as loan shark-turned-boxer Rocky in the original Oscar-nominated 1976 film, which he wrote and starred in.

It has since spawned five franchise sequels, as well as a spin-off movie series in “Creed”, starring Michael B. Jordan as the son of Rocky’s old rival, Apollo Creed.

Stallone reprised his role as Rocky in 2015’s “Creed”, which earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nod.

'Game of Throne' Author Confirms Broadway Adaptation

    HBO

George R.R. Martin teams up with renowned theater producers for the upcoming stage play adaptation which aims for the Great White Way, West End and Australia.

    Mar 31, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“Game of Thrones” creator George R.R. Martin has confirmed reports he’s developing a stage production of his books, which will transport fans back to the classic story.

Martin has teamed up with producers Simon Painter and Tim Lawson, and writer Duncan MacMillan to bring his fantasy tale to the stage, with Dominic Cooke, the former artistic director at London’s Royal Court Theatre, set to oversee the project.

“The seeds of war are often planted in times of peace,” the author says in a statement. “Few in Westeros knew the carnage to come when highborn and smallfolk alike gathered at Harrenhal to watch the finest knights of the realm compete in a great tourney, during the Year of the False Spring.”

      See also…

“It is a tourney oft referred during HBO’s Game of Thrones, and in my novels, A Song of Ice & Fire… and now, at last, we can tell the whole story… on the stage.”

“An amazing team has been assembled to tell the tale, starting with producers Simon Painter, Tim Lawson and Jonathan Sanford. Their knowledge and love of my world and characters has impressed me from the very first, and their plans for this production blew me away since the first time we met. Dominic Cooke, our director, is a former Artistic Director of London’s Royal Court Theatre, who brought Shakespeare’s dramas of the War of the Roses to television, and our playwright, Duncan Macmillan, has previously adapted George Orwell and Henrik Ibsen, among others.”

“Working with them has been a treat, and I am eager for our collaboration to resume. Our dream is to bring Westeros to Broadway, to the West End, to Australia… and eventually, to a stage near you. It ought to be spectacular.”

The play, featuring many of the well-known characters from the “Game of Thrones” series, will hit Broadway in 2023, ahead of runs in the West End and Australia.
