Wendy Williams Apologizes for Loudly Burping and Farting on Live TV

    BET

This is not the first time for Wendy to fart on live TV as in a January 22, 2020 episode of her daytime talk show, the 56-year-old allegedly passed gas loudly though she denied the speculations the next day.

    Mar 17, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Wendy Williams has had an embarrassing moment in one episode of her talk show. The 56-year-old host was heard having a double release in the form of a burp and a fart while talking about Kim Kardashian and her estranged husband Kanye West’s relationship amid their divorce.

“And she’s probably got five new boyfriends. We haven’t caught anybody coming out of the house yet,” Wendy said about the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star. “It’s just a matter of time. She ain’t lon…,” the TV personality trailed off as she burped and farted loud enough to be heard by the audience.

After regaining composure over the embarrassing moment, Wendy quickly apologized. “I apologize, I apologize,” she said, before going on with the segment.

This is not the first time for Wendy to fart on live TV. In a January 22, 2020 episode of her daytime talk show, she allegedly passed gas loudly as she was seen leaning to one side while sitting in her iconic purple chair.

However, in an episode on the next day, Wendy denied that she farted. “I have never farted once on this show. I barely fart. You know why? Because gas gets released several different ways and mine is belching cause all I do is talk. If I farted, I’d have laughed, cause farts are always funny,” so the talk show host explained to her viewers.

Of the noise that some people speculated was the sound of the fart, Wendy said, “By the sound of that fart, I’d have to go change my costume. I would have left a mark in the seat. I wouldn’t even have saved the costume, I would have thrown it away. It probably would have been soiled beyond soiltivity. ”

An employee named John also backed Wendy’s claims, saying that it was from a chemist, who was a guest on the show, setting up her experiments backstage. “So that’s what it was, it wasn’t Wendy,” John said.

Andra Day Can't Wait to Celebrate Oscar Nomination With Her Co-Stars

    WENN

The ‘United States vs. Billie Holiday’ actress reveals director Lee Daniels was the first person she called as soon as she learned she’s nominated for Best Actress.

    Mar 17, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
Andra Day wasted no time in calling “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” director Lee Daniels after learning she’d been nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film.

The singer and screen star is up for the Best Actress gong at the ceremony, but has some tough competition from Viola Davis, Carey Mulligan, Frances McDormand, and Vanessa Kirby.

Reflecting on the moment she found out she’d been nominated for the prestigious award, Andra told Entertainment Tonight that she called director Lee straight away.

“The very first person I did have to call was Lee Daniels, obviously,” she said. “He just poured into me in such a powerful way.”

Andra also couldn’t wait to celebrate the news with her castmates from the film as she added, “I really wanted to talk to my cast because they’re like a second family, a second organ for me.”

She and fellow nominee Viola Davis have made history with this year’s nominations as it’s the first time two Black screen stars have been nominated for the leading actress prize since Diana Ross and Cicely Tyson in 1973.

Speaking about the historic nominations, Andra continued, “It matters. I also feel like, as Black women, that it’s been so long that we’ve believed the narrative… that there’s limited space. It has blessed me so much to encounter all these supportive, beautiful, wonderful Black women who feel seen and supported by this film and by Billie’s story.”

The 93rd Academy Awards takes place 25 April and will be broadcast from multiple locations, including both the Dolby Theatre and Union Station in Los Angeles.

Golden Globe Committee Promises to Have at Least 13 Black Members by 2022

    Facebook

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has responded to the backlash over the lack of black members as they vow to increase diversity by 2022 Golden Globe Awards.

    Mar 17, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will have at least 13 Black members by the next Golden Globes.

The organisation – which organises the annual awards ceremony – has vowed to have 100 members, as a minimum, by next year (22), with at least 13 of these to be Black journalists to promote diversity after it was revealed they do not have one Black member in their current line-up of 87 journalists.

In a lengthy statement, they wrote, “The Hollywood Foreign Press Association reiterates that we are committed to making necessary changes within our organisation and in our industry as a whole. We also acknowledge that we should have done more, and sooner. As a demonstration of our commitment, the board has unanimously approved a plan to increase membership to a minimum of 100 members this year, with a requirement that at least 13 percent of the membership be Black journalists.”

It comes after the show’s hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler called out the lack of diversity within the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) during the Golden Globes ceremony.

Amy said, “This is probably something we should’ve told you guys earlier. Everybody is, understandably, upset at the HFPA and their choices. Look, a lot of flashy garbage got nominated, but that happens, OK? That’s, like, their thing, but a number of Black actors and Black-led projects were overlooked.”

Tina interrupted, “We all know that award shows are stupid. But the point is, even with stupid things, inclusivity is important, and there are no Black members of the Hollywood Foreign Press. I realised, HFPA, maybe you guys didn’t get the memo because your workplace is the back booth of a French McDonald’s, but you’ve gotta change that. So, here’s to changing it.”

Following the ceremony, a host of publicists in Hollywood said they would not advocate for their clients to go to any of the events organised by the HFPA until they saw change on the board.

'Moonlight' Director Left Stunned by Delroy Lindo's Oscars Snub

    WENN/Avalon/Nicky Nelson

Surprised that the ‘Da 5 Bloods’ actor was left out of the Academy Awards shortlist, filmmaker Barry Jenkins looks back at the time he held up his trophy in front of a screenshot the British veteran.

    Mar 16, 2021
AceShowbiz – Filmmaker Barry Jenkins has been left in disbelief after actor Delroy Lindo was snubbed by Oscar voters for his role in “Da 5 Bloods”.
The “Moonlight” director was so convinced Lindo would be nominated for an acting honor – and win, he took a photo of himself holding up his own Oscar in front of a screenshot of the British screen veteran in action, and saved it to his phone.
He thought he would be able to celebrate Lindo’s nod for the Spike Lee war drama on Monday, March 15, when the Academy Awards shortlist was announced, but he was stunned to discover his pal had been overlooked.
“I took this pic eight or so months ago but decided not to tweet it,” Jenkins explained as he shared the image on Twitter. “If you had told me that by March 2021 it would be irrelevant I would’ve thought you crazy. An a** outta me (sic)”.

Barry Jenkins weighed in on the snubbing of Delroy Lindo by Oscar voters.
Despite picking up a string of awards season accolades, “Da 5 Bloods”, which co-starred the late Chadwick Boseman, was virtually shut out by Academy members, only picking up one nomination for Best Original Score for Terence Blanchard.
Lindo and “Da 5 Bloods” were not the only ones getting the cold shoulder. Jodie Foster was missing from the Best Supporting Actress list despite winning a Golden Globe for “The Mauritanian”. Similar situation also happened to Regina King. The “One Night in Miami…” director was left out of Best Director category though she was nominated at Critics’ Choice Awards and DGA Awards among others.
Both “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” were also left out of the Best Picture run. “Black Bottom” additionally was excluded from the contention for Best Adapted Screenplay. Still, it managed to get its stars Chadwick Boseman and Viola Davis vying for the acting titles.

The news arrives after ABC announced that host Chris Harrison would not return for the next season of “The Bachelorette”. In a joint statement by Warner Horizon and ABC Entertainment on behalf of “The Bachelor” franchise, Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe had been revealed to be the ones taking over Chris’ hosting duty.
“Chris Harrison will not be hosting the next season of The Bachelorette,” the joint statement, which was published on Friday, March 12, read. “We support Chris in the work that he is committed to doing. In his absence, former Bachelorettes Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will support the new Bachelorette through next season.”
The statement continued, “As we continue the dialogue around achieving greater equity and inclusion within ‘The Bachelor’ franchise, we are dedicated to improving the BIPOC representation of our crew, including among the executive producer ranks. These are important steps in effecting fundamental change so that our franchise is a celebration of love that is reflective of our world.”
Chris has been taking hiatus from “The Bachelor” franchise following backlash for defending “The Bachelor” contestant Rachael Kirkconnell, who was under fire over her past racist behavior.

    Mar 16, 2021
AceShowbiz – “Allen v. Farrow” aired its fourth and final episode on Sunday night, March 14. In the new outing of the HBO docuseries, Mia Farrow shared her feelings for her estranged daughter Soon-Yi Previn who is now married to Mia’s ex-husband Woody Allen.
Saying that she still loves Soon-Yi, Mia slammed the filmmaker for using Soon-Yi to go against her. “He’s weaponized two of my children that he’s turned against me,” the 76-year-old said in the finale as quoted by PEOPLE on Monday.
Talking about her children, twins Matthew and Sascha Previn, Lark Song Previn, Fletcher Previn, Summer “Daisy” Song Previn, as well as Soon-Yi and Moses, Mia went on to say, “They are all people I loved with all my heart. They are all people that I would’ve laid down my life for. I love Soon-Yi. It took me six years to throw away the Christmas stocking I knitted for her thinking she would come back, but she didn’t.”

Mia also shared that the whole thing that happened between her and Woody made her lose trust in men. “I never brought [dates or significant others] home because I didn’t want to risk anybody falling for one of my beautiful children or grandchildren,” she explained. “If I couldn’t trust Woody after 12 years, I would never take another risk with anybody else. She also blamed herself for inviting Woody into her family, calling it “the greatest regret of my life.” Mia admitted, “It’s my fault. I brought this guy into my family. There’s nothing I can do to take that away.”

Meanwhile, Dylan Farrow addressed the episode on social media. Taking to her Instagram account, she reflected on the finale, “To have my truth finally acknowledged by so many of you means the world to me. Thank you all for listening to my family’s story over the past month. I hope our story can help others heal and feel less alone. Never stop believing survivors.”
