Sharon Osbourne Apologizes After Row With 'The Talk' Co-Hosts, Claims She 'Panicked'

    CBS

The Osbourne matriarch is sorry following her clash with TV co-hosts over Piers Morgan and Meghan Markle drama, claiming she got defensive because she ‘panicked.’

    Mar 13, 2021
AceShowbiz – Sharon Osbourne has insisted she does not “condone racism, misogyny or bullying” after publicly defending Piers Morgan over him quitting “Good Morning Britain”.
The anchor decided to step down from his position on the U.K. TV show after a row with weatherman Alex Beresford about his behaviour towards Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, following her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Morgan had previously stated he didn’t believe the Duchess’ comments that she was suicidal during her time in the royal family, sparking calls for his dismissal, but pal Sharon spoke out in his defence insisting, “I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you’re paid for your opinion and that you’re just speaking your truth.”
The day after her tweet, Sharon explained on her U.S. TV show “The Talk” that she didn’t “agree with what he said,” but supported her friend’s “freedom of speech.”
When co-host Sheryl Underwood asked her what she would say to people who felt it was racist to defend a person making such comments and Sharon replied, “For me, at 68 years of age to have to turn around and say ‘I ain’t racist’ – what’s it got to do with me? How could I be racist about anybody? How could I be racist about anybody or anything in my life? How can I?”
“I will ask you again, Sheryl, I was asking you during the break and I’m asking you again. And don’t try and cry, because if anyone should be crying, it should be me,” she said as she raised her voice. “This is the situation: you tell me where you have heard him say – educate me. Tell me when you have heard him say racist things. Educate me. Tell me.”

Sheryl told her that it isn’t “the exact words of racism,” but rather the “implication and the reaction to it.”
“To not want to address that because she is a Black woman, and to try to dismiss it or to make it seem less than what it is, that’s what makes it racist,” insisted the comedian. “But right now, I’m talking to a woman who I believe is my friend and I don’t want anybody here to watch this and say that we’re attacking you for being racist. And for that, if I articulated anything -”
“I think it’s too late. I think that seed is already sown,” Sharon quipped.
However, in a statement posted on social media, Sharon stated she “panicked, felt blindsided (and) got defensive.”
Apologising to “anyone of colour that I offended and/or to anyone that feels confused, or let down by what I said,” Sharon explained that she had “allowed my fear and horror of being accused of being racist take over.”
“Please hear me when I say I do not condone racism, misogyny or bullying. I should have always have been more specific about that in my tweet,” she wrote. “I will always support freedom of speech, but now I see how I unintentionally didn’t make that clear distinction.”
“I hope we can collectively continue to learn from each other and from ourselves so we can all continue to pave the way for much-needed growth and change.”

Vanessa Kirby Thinks 'It's Quite Mad' That Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Watch 'The Crown'

    WENN/Avalon/John Rainford

The Princess Margaret depicter on the historical drama series also jokes that the couple will now have more time to ‘binge’ the show after stepping down as senior members of the royal family.

    Mar 12, 2021
AceShowbiz – Vanessa Kirby was pleasantly surprised to know that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry watched “The Crown”. The actress, who portrayed Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of Netflix’s historical drama series, found it “quite mad” that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex watched her show.
The 32-year-old offered her two cents when making a virtual appearance in the Tuesday, March 9 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”. She told host Jimmy Kimmel, “It’s quite mad to think that they have actually seen it. That’s something that you sort of always semi-imagine, but sort of thought, ‘Oh, you’re probably too busy to watch it.’ ”
After Jimmy quipped that the couple will have more time to watch the show since stepping down as senior members of the royal family, the “Pieces of a Woman” actress doubled down on the joke by saying, “They literally binged four seasons probably in one go.” She added, “What a crazy life concept to have a show made about literally your grandparents and their lives, and then I guess, you know, that yours is possibly upcoming.”

Vanessa’s reaction came after Meghan and Harry revealed in their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey that they have seen “some” of “The Crown”. Harry himself previously talked about the show when he appeared in a February episode of “The Late Late Show with James Corden”.
“They don’t pretend to be news,” the expectant father told host James Corden. “It’s fictional, but it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate. It gives you a rough idea of what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.”
“I’m way more comfortable with ‘The Crown’ than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife, or myself,” he further shared. “It’s the difference between… that is obviously fiction, take it how you will, but this is being reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news. I have a real issue with that.”

“Telling the crew was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my whole life,” the 65-year-old reality star revealed during a sit-down with her close friends, Kyle Richards and Faye Resnick. She added, “We love each other so much. You don’t appreciate what’s right in front of you all the time.”

During the chat, Kris admitted that “It’s hard” to bid farewell to “KUWTK”. Asked why she and her family decided to pull the plug on the show, she divulged, “It is complicated. It’s all these different personalities and people and kids and grandkids and everybody thinking, ‘What’s the right thing for everybody?’ and ‘When’s the right moment?’ It’s been incredibly challenging, incredibly hard.”
“And everybody in this room is my family,” the ex-wife of Caitlyn Jenner continued. “They’re day one, season one. Every single thing we’ve done, we’ve done together. Ryan Coogler Finds It Incredibly Hard to Make 'Black Panther 2' Without Chadwick Boseman

    WENN

The ‘Creed’ directors says developing the sequel to ‘Black Panther’ without the late T’Challa depicter is ‘the hardest thing’ he’s had to do as he returns behind the lens for the second installment.

    Mar 12, 2021
AceShowbiz – Ryan Coogler has admitted making the “Black Panther” sequel without Chadwick Boseman is the “hardest thing.”
The 34-year-old director is working on a follow-up to the 2018 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film but admits that he is still trying to come to terms with the loss of lead actor Chadwick, who passed away last August aged 43 after a private cancer battle.
Ryan said, “I’m still currently going through it.”
“One thing that I’ve learned in my short time on this Earth is that it’s very difficult to have perspective on something while you’re going through it. This is one of the more profound things that I’ve gone through in my life, having to be a part of keeping this project going without this particular person who is like the glue who held it together.”
The “Creed” filmmaker explained that he has been trying to find a “balance” between his personal and professional life since Chadwick’s passing.

Ryan told the “Jemele Hill Is Unbothered” podcast, “That said, you have a professional life, you’ve got a personal life. Personal life, I’m going to say when you work in something that you love, those things blend, they come together.”
“I’m trying to find a work-life balance. But I’m not there yet, so this is without question the hardest thing I’ve had to do in my professional life.”
Ryan explained that, while the loss of Chadwick “stings,” it has left him “incredibly motivated” that he got to spend time with the “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” star.
He said, “This one hurts and stings, but it’s also incredibly motivating.”
“I’m incredibly sad to lose him but I’m also incredibly motivated that I got to spend time with him. You spend your life hearing about people like him. For this individual, who is an ancestor now, I was there for it. It’s such an incredible privilege that fills you up as much as it knocks you out.”

Claire Foy to Play 'Dirty Duchess' Opposite Paul Bettany in 'A Very English Scandal'

    WENN

The ‘Season of the Witch’ actress has been tapped for the upcoming second installment of the ‘scandalous’ anthology series along with the ‘WandaVision’ actor.

    Mar 12, 2021
AceShowbiz – Actress Claire Foy is stepping back in time once more to tackle a sex scandal which rocked the British aristocracy in the second season of anthology series “A Very English Scandal”.
“The Crown” star, who portrayed a young Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons of the hit royal drama, will portray Margaret Campbell, the Duchess of Argyll, opposite Paul Bettany as her second husband, Ian Douglas Campbell, the 11th Duke of Argyll.
The couple’s divorce became the talk of the town in 1963 after the Duke accused her of multiple instances of infidelity, uncovering nude photos of the Duchess, and others in which she was pictured performing oral sex on an unidentified man, which were submitted as evidence during their messy court battle. The scandal led to Campbell being nicknamed “The Dirty Duchess.”
The three-part season will be renamed “A Very British Scandal”, given that the Duke and Duchess were both Scottish, and will be directed by “Castle Rock” ‘s Anne Sewitsky, from a script by “The ABC Murders” writer Sarah Phelps, reports Deadline.

The show description reads, “A Very British Scandal turns this scandal inside out in order to explore the social and political climate of post-war Britain, looking at attitudes toward women, and asking whether institutional misogyny was widespread at the time.”
“As her contemporaries, the press, and the judiciary sought to vilify her, Margaret kept her head held high with bravery and resilience, refusing to go quietly as she was betrayed by her friends and publicly shamed by a society that revelled in her fall from grace.”
Production is set to begin later this year (21).
The first season of “A Very English Scandal” featured Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw as politician Jeremy Thorpe and his ex-lover Norman Scott, respectively. In 1979, Thorpe was accused of conspiring to murder Scott but was later acquitted of the charges.

Drew Barrymore Calls Decision to Put Movie Making on Back Burner 'A No Brainer'

    Instagram

While she wants to focus on being a mother to her two daughters, the ‘Drew Barrymore Show’ host does admit that her hit Netflix series, ‘Santa Clarita Diet’, really saved her.

    Mar 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Drew Barrymore is following best pal Cameron Diaz’s lead and stepping away from film cameras. The actress-turned-talk show host admits she has no interest in making another film right now, because it would take her away from the job she loves best – mum.
“I don’t want to be on a film set right now, but that could change when my kids are older,” she told Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM show. “I stopped doing these [films] when my kids were born, because I’ve done it since I was in diapers – 11 months old is when I started.”
“And it was a no brainer to me to put making movies on a back burner so that I could be present and raise my kids myself,” the 46-year-old actress continued explaining the reason behind her reluctance. “I didn’t want to be on a film set asking the nanny how the kids were. I was like, ‘That is not my journey.’ ”
Drew admits not being a film actress has allowed her to do other things. “When you step away from it, it’s a lot less scary… I’ve started brands, I was able to write a book…,” she added, explaining her hit Netflix show, “Santa Clarita Diet”, came along at the perfect moment.

“I was so knee deep into mothering my kids, I was like, ‘I don’t know who I am any more’,” she said. “I think I went way too far the opposite direction.”
She added, “And if I can’t remember that I’m an individual with a skill set, I might die. So then I got to play this woman who gets to eat people and it was exactly how I felt. And it was just perfect and it was comedy and it was delicious and it was fun and it was irreverent and I couldn’t have loved it more. And it really saved me.”

    Mar 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – “The Masked Singer” returned with a brand new season on Wednesday, March 10. Hosted by Niecy Nash, the premiere episode of season 5 offered viewers with performances by Russian Doll, Snail, Seashell, Raccoon and Robopine. The first contestant to hit the stage that night was Russian Doll.
Russian Doll opted to sing Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror” for their first performance. Instead of one, the giant Weeble Wobble sounded like it was made of two or maybe three singers. “I’m confused!” panelist Jenny McCarthy said. Fellow panelist Nicole Scherzinger, meanwhile, thought that it ‘was so creepy, but so magical!”

Russian Doll’s clues included coffee creamer, a “Mizfitz Toy Store”, puppet strings, the Garden State Highway, a train, a wooden boat wheel, and breadsticks. Among the panelists’ guesses were Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley from Lady A (Lady Antebellum), “Glee” cast members as well as Gwen Stefani and Tom DuMont from No Doubt.
As for Snail, he performed Hall & Oates’ “You Make My Dreams Come True”. In his clue package, he said that he has “acted, directed, produced, released albums, even graced the Oscars stage.”

Taking the stage to perform “Wild Thing” by The Troggs was Raccoon. “I loved it, because he didn’t follow the script, so you’re on the edge of your seat. As for his clues, Raccoon said that he got a “second chance” at life after being in his “darkest days faced death.” Judges guessed Gary Busey, Nick Nolte, Sammy Hagar, Mike Tyson and Joe Pesci.

Robopine, whose initial name was Porcupine, then sang “Never Too Much” by Luther Vandross. “My kids and my grandkids told me I was supposed to hang it up a long time ago,” he said in his clues, adding that he’s 60 years old. Among names that were thrown by judges as the guesses were Idris Elba, Donald Glover, Jamie Foxx, Lionel Richie and Ginuwine.
