Piers Morgan Happy to 'Fall on His Sword' for 'Honest' Opinion About Meghan Markle

    WENN

The former ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter has no regret for walking away from the British morning show, citing ‘freedom of speech’ for his ‘honestly held opinion’ about the Duchess of Sussex.

    Mar 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Piers Morgan has no regrets about the way he dealt with the Duchess Of Sussex’s Oprah Winfrey interview on “Good Morning Britain”, insisting that he is proud to have “fallen on his sword” for “freedom of speech.”
The anchor decided to step down from his position on the U.K. TV show after a row with weatherman Alex Beresford about his behaviour towards Meghan and her and Harry’s interview with Oprah, following which Morgan had said he didn’t believe the duchess’ comments that she was suicidal during her time in the royal family.
Following his shock exit from the show, he tweeted on Wednesday morning (10Mar21), “On Monday, I said I didn’t believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I’ve had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don’t. Freedom of speech is a hill I’m happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I’m off to spend more time with my opinions.”
He elaborated further as he spoke to journalists outside his London home, telling the BBC, “I had a good chat with ITV and we agreed to disagree. I believe in freedom of speech, I believe in the right to be allowed to have an opinion. If people want to believe Meghan Markle, that’s entirely their right.”

“I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth and I think the damage she’s done to the British monarchy and to the Queen at a time when Prince Philip is lying in hospital is enormous and frankly contemptible.”
“If I have to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge that she came out with in that interview, so be it.”
Morgan also said that he has no intention of resting on his laurels, adding, “I think it’s fair to say, although the woke crowd will think that they’ve cancelled me, I think they will be rather disappointed when I re-emerge.”
Ranvir Singh stood in for Morgan on Wednesday’s episode of “Good Morning Britain”, with his co-host Susanna Reid insisting “shows go on” after people leave.

Piers Morgan's Co-Host Addresses His TV Exit: The Shows Go On

    ITV

‘Good Morning Britain’ host Susanna Reid weighs in on the abrupt departure of her controversial co-host in the first episode following his decision to quit the British morning show.

    Mar 11, 2021
AceShowbiz – Piers Morgan’s “Good Morning Britain” co-host Susanna Reid has insisted “shows go on” while presenting the programme for the first time since his shocking decision to quit.
The outspoken broadcaster stepped down from his position as anchor of the show on Tuesday (09Mar21), after a row on live TV that morning with weatherman Alex Beresford over his handling of the Duchess of Sussex’s Oprah Winfrey interview.
Piers took to Twitter on Tuesday night to tell followers he was “trusting his gut” in leaving “Good Morning Britain” and, as she joined Ranvir Singh for the first “Good Morning Britain” after the scandal on Wednesday morning (10Mar21), Susanna had a message for viewers.
“Piers and I have disagreed on many things and that dynamic was one of the things viewers loved about the programme,” she said. “He is without doubt an outspoken, challenging, opinionated, disruptive broadcaster. He has many critics, and he has many fans.”

“You will know I disagreed with him about Meghan’s interview. He himself clarified his comments about her mental health on the show yesterday.”
“There are many voices on GMB and everyone have their say, but now Piers has decided to leave the programme. Some of you will cheer, and others will boo.”
She concluded, “He has been my presenting partner, Monday to Wednesday, for more than five years, and during Brexit and the pandemic, and other issues, he has been a voice for many of you and a voice that many of you have railed against. It is certainly going to be very different, but shows go on, and so on we go.”
Susanna was also quick to point out to viewers that Ranvir’s involvement on Wednesday’s episode had already been arranged, and she had just “swapped seats” to become her co-host for the day in the wake of Piers’ quitting.
ITV have yet to announce a replacement for Morgan.

Jennifer Garner Admits 'Yes Day' Has Been Her Family Tradition Before She Stars in the Film

    WENN/Apega

During an interview on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’, the ‘Peppermint’ star reveals that the tradition began when her middle daughter fell in love with Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s book at the age of 3.

    Mar 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Jennifer Garner knows all about the subject of her new film, “Yes Day”, because she and her family have celebrated the fun tradition for years. The actress reveals she has been trading places with her three children for years, picking a day where she has to follow their lead.
“My middle daughter, at the age of three, loved this book [by author Amy Krouse Rosenthal]… and she would dream of having her own Yes Day, so we started it then and she’s 12 now,” Jennifer tells “Live with Kelly and Ryan”. “We’ve been doing them every since – it’s our family tradition.”
Garner explains the kids have to adhere to some “basic guidelines” for the special day, “You can’t get a dog, you can’t pierce your ears, it’s not about spending money. But [it’s OK] if they want to do your hair and makeup, if they want to have ice cream for breakfast, if they stay up late.”

And though the “Peppermint” star admits she really gets into the fun of the demanding day, she has limited it to an annual event. “Once a year is plenty, believe me, you’re so tired,” she laughs. “It’s a lot just to say yes to everything they come up with.”

In the new film, which drops on Netflix this weekend, Garner plays a strict mum-of-three who allows her kids to make all the family decisions for a day. She stars opposite Edgar Ramirez and Jenna Ortega.
Elsewhere during the interview, Jennifer admits to doing silly things with her longtime assistant Maureen “Mo” Grosser while quarantining for 14 days straight in a Vancouver condo. At one point, she also talks about playing with snow. “It was just fun to be able to go out on the balcony and play in the snow,” she says.

Eva Marcille Says 'ANTM' Judge Janice Dickinson Advised Her to Fix Her Nose With Prize Money

    Instagram

In a new episode of ‘The Undressing Room’ podcast, the former ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star shares to her co-hosts that she got some unsolicited advice from Janice after winning Cycle 3 of the show.

    Mar 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Eva Marcille spoke out against “America’s Next Top Model” judge Janice Dickinson as she recalled her time on the show. In a new episode of “The Undressing Room” podcast, the former “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star shared that she got some unsolicited advice from Janice after winning Cycle 3 of the show.
“When I won ‘Top Model’, the first thing I was told was — outside of [Tyra Banks]’ ‘Congratulations’ — Janice Dickinson said, ‘Now you can take your money and go get your nose fixed,’ ” Eva told her co-hosts Lore’l and Dominique Da Diva. She went on to say sarcastically, “Um… I didn’t know my nose was broke. I didn’t know there was anything wrong with it. It’s working.”
The TV personality went on to say, “This is the same nose, same big lips, same everything. My point is people always have something to say, especially when you are in the light, they have something to say about your aesthetics, good or bad. There’s always something that someone’s going to have to say about you.”

“So the question is, is at what point do you stop listening to the world and start listening to yourself?” Eva concluded her message. Janice has yet to respond to Eva’s comment.
Eva isn’t the only former “ANTM” contestant who slammed the show’s panelist member. Earlier this year, Lisa D’Amato took to Instagram to recount her awful experience on the show, risking being sued for breach of contract. She accused Tyra of using her childhood trauma against her, writing on January 29, “Remember when I had an opportunity to ask you one question in season 5 – a modeling question – and I came in and asked you a question that wasn’t about modeling and you kicked me out? Can I get that question back?”
“I did it knowing that this was a breach of contract, still, because I felt like it was my duty to warn other girls that were going to audition for ‘America’s Next Top Model’ to know that what you guys do and the way that you guys would poke me and use my childhood trauma against me, day in and day out,” Lisa, who finished in sixth place in Cycle 5, continued. “It was just so f***ed up, and it broke my heart. Like, how could you do that?”
“You, Tyra, you knew very well the horrible trauma that my mom inflicted on me, and you also talk so much about how you wouldn’t be where you are without your mother and how powerful she is,” the winner of “ANTM: All Stars” season 17 further alleged. “So knowing that, you still did that to me and continued to do it to other girls, even after I spoke publicly about it.”

Eddie Murphy Blames Career Break on His Worst Actor Ever Win at Razzie Award

    WENN/HRC

In a new podcast interview, the ‘Coming 2 America’ actor reveals that he originally planned to take a one year break after a string of flops, before it turned into a six-year hiatus.

    Mar 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Eddie Murphy’s Worst Actor of Decade ‘win’ at the Golden Raspberry Awards in 2010 prompted him to take a break from Hollywood.
The “Coming 2 America” star’s feelings were hurt when he was named the worst actor after a string of flops, and he tells Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast the Razzies mention really got to him.
“I was making s**tty movies. I was like, ‘This s**t ain’t fun. They’re giving me Razzies…,” he says. “Motherf**kers gave me the ‘worst actor ever’ Razzie, [so I thought], ‘Maybe it’s time to take a break’.”
“I was only gonna take a break for a year, then all of a sudden six years go by, and I’m sitting on the couch, and I could sit on the couch and not get off it, but I don’t want the last bunch of s**t they see me do [to be] bulls**t.”

He adds, “The plan was to go do Dolemite [Is My Name], [host] ‘Saturday Night Live’, ‘Coming 2 America’ and then do stand-up and see how I felt afterwards. At least then they’ll know I’m [still] funny.”
Murphy is well on his way – his new “Coming to America” sequel is a hit and his turn as filmmaker Rudy Ray Moore in “Dolemite Is My Name” earned Eddie the Redeemer Award at the 2019 Razzies and a Golden Globe nomination.

Throughout his career, the 59-year-old actor has been nominated multiple times at Razzie Awards. His performances in such movies as “I Spy”, “Norbit”, “Meet Dave” and “A Thousand Words” brought him Worst Actor and Worst Supporting Actor nods.

Piers Morgan Addresses His 'Good Morning Britain' Exit Following Meghan Markle Criticism

    WENN/Avalon/John Rainford

ITV previously revealed that Piers left the show after the U.K.’s media regulators at Ofcom announced they would be investigating the host over his offensive remarks regarding the Duchess of Sussex’s mental health.

    Mar 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Piers Morgan has broken his silence on his “Good Morning Britain” exit. The British TV personality took to his Twitter account to share with his 7.8 million followers that his late manager most likely would applaud him over his decision.
“Thinking of my late, great manager John Ferriter tonight,” Piers wrote on the blue bird app on Tuesday, March 9 alongside a throwback picture of them together. “He’d have told me to do exactly the same thing.”

Piers Morgan believed his late manager would approve of his ‘GMB’ exit.
ITV announced that Piers left the show after the U.K.’s media regulators at Ofcom announced they would be investigating Piers over his offensive remarks regarding the Duchess of Sussex’s mental health. “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add,” ITV shared in a statement.

Prior to this, Piers made headlines after he abruptly left the set of the popular morning talk show while on air following a heated discussion with co-host Alex Beresford about Meghan Markle. In the episode, the co-hosts were discussing Meghan and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey when Alex accused Piers of having a vendetta against the Duchess of Sussex because she cut him off after being engaged to Prince Harry.
“I hear Piers say William has gone through the same thing, but do you know what? Siblings experience tragedy in their life and one will be absolutely fine and brush it off and the other will not be able to deal with it so strongly and that is clearly what has happened with Prince Harry in this situation,” said Alex. “He walked behind his mother’s coffin at a tender, tender age in front of the globe. That is going to shape a young boy for the rest of his life. So I think that we all need to take a step back.”
The former weather presenter went on to say to Piers, “I understand that you don’t like Meghan Markle. You’ve made that so clear a number of times on this program. A number of times. And I understand that you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or had one and she cut you off. She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has, but yet you continue to trash her.”
The remarks didn’t sit well with Piers as he got up and left the set. “OK. I’m done with this. Sorry. No. Sorry. You can trash me mate, but not on my own show,” so he told Alex. Piers did return minutes later and admitted that he and his colleague needed to work through any issues they have civilly for the sake of the show.

Rupert Grint Found 'Harry Potter' Filming 'Quite Suffocating' and 'Heavy'

    Warner Bros. Pictures

The Ron Weasley depicter says, while filming the ‘Harry Potter’ movie series was a ‘great experience,’ he couldn’t deny that it was ‘quiet suffocating’ and ‘heavy going.’

    Mar 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Rupert Grint has admitted filming “Harry Potter] was “quite suffocating.”
The actor played Ron Weasley in the wizard film franchise from 2001 to 2011 and admitted, while it was “a great experience,” there were times where he wanted more for his life and career.
Appearing on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast, he said, “There was a time where it felt quite suffocating, because it was heavy going, because it was every day for 10 years in the end.”
“It was a great experience. Such a nice kind of family atmosphere. It was always the same crew we kind of grew up with, so it was a great place to be.”
“But sometimes it definitely felt like, ‘I want to do something else. See what else is out there.’ ”

Rupert compared the shoots to Groundhog Day with the days and weeks blending into one.
“It just never ended. Every year, we came back. And it was kind of like Groundhog Day because it was the same sets. It was the same people. But it was great. I loved it,” he added.
And although he’s only seen each movie once – besides recently rewatching the first film “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” for a second time – he has no immediate plans to rectify that.
“It still feels too soon really. I can’t detach myself fully,” he explained. “I can’t face it… (But) I’ve got a very different perspective of it now that a long time has passed. I can appreciate what a feat it was.”
Rupert noted how he prefers to work on a project and move on while also admitting he is particularly embarrassed about one aspect of his “Potter” stint.
He said, “My (shoulder-length) hair in film four (The Goblet of Fire) is one of my biggest regrets. I think everyone actually had a phase of having this really long hair. They liked it – it was kind of wizardy. We went through our puberty on camera.”
