Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion finally sold for whopping price as huge renovations exposed

Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion has finally been sold to a new owner, who have shared plans to get the country home back to its former glory10:01, 21 Aug 2025Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion’s new owners have been revealed(Image: Channel 4 )Katie Price’s notorious Mucky Mansion has finally found a buyer for a substantial sum. The property, which Katie snapped up in 2014 for a staggering £2million, served as her home until mounting debts forced her to leave when she could no longer keep up with mortgage payments.Despite the sale going through, Katie won’t pocket a penny from the transaction as the proceeds are being used to settle her outstanding debts. Even though Katie has branded the house “cursed” following a string of break-ins, alleged ghostly sightings and the deaths of her pets on the premises, the new proprietor remains undeterred.Furniture tycoon and divorced father-of-two James Mercer, 62, from Northern Ireland, purchased the property in January, several months after Price was evicted by bailiffs due to her inability to meet mortgage obligations.James Mercer has reportedly put aside a chunk of money to do up the propertyReports suggest Mr Mercer is planning comprehensive renovations to transform the home into a habitable residence. Mercer’s partner, Leike Qu, who jointly owns Mucky Mansion with him, revealed they were smitten with the home that has been embroiled in media controversy for years.”We are just very ordinary and quiet people who fell in love with this country house,” Ms Qu revealed to The MailOnline. The pair, who splashed out £1million on the freehold, have reportedly saved a considerable budget for restoring Mucky Mansion to its former glory.Article continues belowThey secured the property for less than the £1.35million asking price the Mucky Mansion had originally commanded. Katie was forced to reduce the cost after battling to find a buyer due to the building’s dire condition, which saw the kitchen ceiling collapse.Additional worries emerged regarding potential land contamination from waste, whilst the swimming pool water had turned an alarming shade of green, reports the Mirror..Professional cleaners were brought in to tackle enormous mounds of debris left behind before local estate agents HJ Burt put it on the market. Soon after vacating the residence, Katie lashed out with a stark warning for the property’s new occupants.Katie Price reckons the Mucky Mansion is ‘cursed'(Image: Channel 4)She declared: “I hate that house. Whoever buys it, I warn them, they will get bad luck there. It is absolutely cursed. My anxiety got worse with that house. There was a point when I couldn’t even walk up the driveway without having a panic attack. I had therapy about the house. I should never have gone back there. Now I’m out of it, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”Price had previously insisted the dwelling was haunted by a young child’s ghost. The residence, with nine bedrooms, three reception areas, four bath/shower rooms and a one-bedroom annexe, also features extensive grounds and private stables. Her eldest daughter, Princess Andre, has similarly reflected on her period in the house and confessed she harboured few fond memories from her stay there. “It was a really scary house,” she revealed. The influencer added: “A lot went on there. So I didn’t really like it. I guess when you have bad experiences somewhere, you don’t like the place.”Mucky Mansion, located near Horsham, West Sussex, was thrust into the spotlight in a Channel 4 documentary as Katie attempted to breathe new life into the property one last time. However, bailiffs reportedly arrived at the 11-bedroom estate in June 2024 to reclaim the keys, roughly a decade after the TV star purchased the expansive home.Article continues belowWant all the biggest Showbiz and TV news straight to your inbox? The former Inbetweeners star says she has been ‘typecast’ as a ‘sexy woman’ but insists she is more than a ‘pouty face and a pair of boobs’ and has ‘used all of that’ in her personal lifeAndy Gilpin Deputy Editor in Chief and Bang Showbiz09:31, 21 Aug 2025Updated 09:31, 21 Aug 2025Emily Atack attends the Glamour Women of The Year Awards (Image: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images)Emily Atack is keen to keep playing “sexy women” roles for as long as she can and admits she is ‘flawed;.The actress, who rose to fame as Charlotte ‘Big Jugs’ Hinchcliffe in the Channel 4 comedy The Inbetweeners, has previously stated that she’s more than just a “than a pouty face and a pair of boobs”. However, Emily admits she’s thoroughly enjoyed every moment of being “typecast” in such roles. In one scene from Rivals, Emily, playing Sarah Stratton, was seen engaging in a game of nude tennis alongside Alex Hassell’s character, Rupert Campbell-Black. She revealed that there were similarities between her character and her own experiences.Emily Atack in that famous scene in Rivals(Image: Hulu/Youtube)Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, as reported by The Sun, Emily confessed: “I wasn’t afraid to identify with her and I completely, I AM her. I’m a very flawed woman. I’ve made terrible decisions in my love life. I used all of that – it was completely genuine – and yes, I used the vulnerability, all of it.”The 35-year-old star has noticed a change in how “demonised women” are portrayed on screen.Article continues belowShe observed: “Finally, women are being written about in a certain way. These demonised women, they’re not being celebrated but they are being understood better.Emily Atack on holiday in spain with Alistair Garner and baby Barney(Image: Emily Atack/Instagram)”They’re always certain types of women – the demonised types of women, you know, the home wreckers and everything. I think people have been quite scared to admit that they identify with characters like Sarah.”Emily maintains that she has never had an issue with repeatedly landing similar roles. She revealed: “There are roles that come along and the term ‘typecast’ is always seen as this negative thing. I’ve been typecast my whole life and I loved every single minute of it.”I will carry on playing these sexy women for as long as they will have me.”Emily Atack loves to portray ‘sexy women’ onscreen and hopes she can continue doing so(Image: BANG Showbiz)Emily had previously opened up about being more than just her looks: “People think that if you look a certain way you can’t write, or you don’t have an opinion.”I thought I needed to almost reinvent myself and show that there is more to me than a pouty face and a pair of boobs.Article continues below”The irony of it was that, my whole life, I’d been striving to be sexy when in fact being what I really am – a wobbly-a****, freckly-faced, fun girl – is what makes me feel happiest.”The star has also hit out at the double standards between herself and her male colleagues in the past. She explained: “Discussing one-night stands shouldn’t be such a terrible thing as a woman. Blokes are allowed to talk about them until they’re blue in the face so I’m just, like, whatever. It’s part of being single, it’s part of your dating life. Sometimes one-night stands can be a great thing, sometimes they’re a disaster and I think everyone can relate to that.” More

The late Love Island host took her own life in February 2020 after learning she was to face trial for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton. She died at the age of 40.Initially, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) had recommended a caution over the December 2019 incident. Robbie Williams has reunited with former bandmate Gary Barlow

They’re not back for good but Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow are working together again as the former Take That bandmates have written a song about their obsession with the Smith’s MorrisseySam Mayers22:56, 20 Aug 2025Robbie and Gary have not worked together for over a decade (Image: Getty Images)Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow have teamed up for the first time in over a decade and written a song dedicated to 66-year-old Morrissey for Rob’s upcoming Britpop album. Rob revealed: “It’s great because that particular track is a song made by Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow about Morrissey.”It’s more tender than it sounds: “The reason I am considerate about him is because I am writing it from the point of view of a stalker. “So it’s somebody that’s stalking Morrissey, he’s completely obsessed and in love with him.”Coldplay’s Chris Martin has also contributed to the album whilst Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes has “written a couple of songs” with Rob too. He’s previously said that the album, out October 10, is the album that he “wanted to write and release” after he quit Take That back in 1995.The song focusses on the former lead singer of the Smiths, Morrissey (Image: Mirrorpix)However, the Angels hitmaker admitted he was caught up in chasing commercial success.Speaking at a Q&A at London’s The Groucho Club, Robbie admitted: “I’ve kind of been musically a bit aimless for a little while because I don’t know really what to do – I’ve chased yesterday an awful lot which happens.Article continues below“Fortunately for me I was in the pocket for so long, my rise was so long but then when commercial radio or whatever stops playing you, you think s**t ‘what was it that I did?’ and then you look backwards.“I have just spent the last 15 years looking backwards.“And I just think with this album if I am going to look backwards I might as well just clear the decks, go back to the start, and head off from there.”And whilst Robbie was known for his peroxide hair in his heyday, he admitted his thinning hair plagues him daily. The 51-year-old confessed: “The hair is powder and scaffolding because that’s thinning and it’s going and I think about it every day.”Robbie believes he’s had many iconic looks during his time, and is unsure as to why the blonde barnet and red jacket has become so infamous. The rest of the Take That lads aren’t involved(Image: Getty Images)He said: “I’ve worn a lot of clothes, we all have, and you’d think out of everything I have worn there would be several iconic moments but it turns out there was only one.“It was a red Adidas top, bleach blonde hair, and I blacked one of my teeth out to make it look as though it wasn’t there.”And as far as skincare goes, Rob’s regime is minimal, he laughed: “Because I’ve got ADHD my selfcare is appalling and so I have to remember to apply moisturiser which I do have.”Article continues belowRobbie will celebrate the release of Britpop with his smallest ever ticketed show at London’s Dingwalls on October 9.Have you joined Threads?
