Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter Go to Prison in First 'Bill and Ted Face the Music' Trailer

    [embedded content]

William ‘Bill’ S. Preston Esq. and Theodore ‘Ted’ Logan meet a shocking, alternate version of themselves as they time travel to the future to ‘steal’ a song that will save the world.
    Jun 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – The first official trailer of “Bill & Ted Face the Music” is here for fans’ viewing pleasure. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprise their roles as William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan, respectively, who go on a mission to save the world.
The video begins as the duo are summoned by a floating, robed council of future people, who try to hold them accountable of their promise to unite all people in peace and harmony with their music. Instead of writing the song that will change the world, they decide to steal it from their future selves.
“Bill, we’ve spent our whole life trying to write the song that will unite the world,” Ted says in the video. “Why can’t we just go to the future when we have written it?” Bill continues his friend, “And take it from ourselves!” But Ted seems to battle his own idea, “But isn’t that stealing?” Bill argues, “How is that stealing if we’re stealing it from ourselves, dude?”
So it begins their new time-traveling journey that brings him to meet an alternate and shocking version of themselves, Prison Bill and Prison Ted, who are buffed and clad in tattoos.
Bill and Ted will be joined by their daughters this time, played by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine, as well as new historical figures, familiar faces and a few music legends. Meanwhile, William Sadler returns as Grim Reaper.
Directed by Dean Parisot (“Galaxy Quest”), the sci-fi comedy film also stars Kid Cudi, Kristen Schaal, Holland Taylor, Jillian Bell, Anthony Carrigan, Jayma Mays, Erinn Hays, Hal Landon Jr., Amy Stotch and Beck Bennett among others. The new “Bill & Ted” sequel is scheduled to open in theaters on August 21.

HBO Max Pulls ‘Gone With the Wind,’ Citing Racist Depictions

HBO Max has removed from its catalog “Gone With the Wind,” the 1939 movie long considered a triumph of American cinema but one that romanticizes the Civil War-era South while glossing over its racial sins. The streaming service pledged to eventually bring the film back “with a discussion of its historical context” while denouncing its racial missteps, a spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday.Set on a plantation and in Atlanta, the film won multiple Academy Awards, including best picture and best supporting actress for Hattie McDaniel, the first African-American to win an Oscar, and it remains among the most celebrated movies in cinematic history. But its rose-tinted depiction of the antebellum South and its blindness to the horrors of slavery have long been criticized, and that scrutiny was renewed this week as protests over police brutality and the death of George Floyd continued to pull the United States into a wide-ranging conversation about race.“‘Gone With the Wind’ is a product of its time and depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have, unfortunately, been commonplace in American society,” an HBO Max spokesperson said in a statement. “These racist depictions were wrong then and are wrong today, and we felt that to keep this title up without an explanation and a denouncement of those depictions would be irresponsible.”HBO Max, owned by AT&T, pulled the film on Tuesday, one day after John Ridley, the screenwriter of “12 Years a Slave,” wrote an op-ed in The Los Angeles Times calling for its removal. Mr. Ridley said he understood that films were snapshots of their moment in history, but that “Gone With the Wind” was still used to “give cover to those who falsely claim that clinging to the iconography of the plantation era is a matter of ‘heritage, not hate.’” More

Anna Kendrick Likens Bonding Made During 'Twilight' Filming to That of Hostage Situation

    WENN

In a new interview, the actress playing Jessica Stanley in the film series confesses that she wanted to ‘murder everyone’ because she was ‘so cold and miserable’ on the set.
    Jun 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Anna Kendrick had a miserable time shooting the “Twilight” series in Oregon, confessing she was so wet and cold all the time she wanted to kill her castmates.
The actress has opened up about her experiences on the set of the films, in which she played high school student Jessica Stanley, in a new Vanity Fair interview and admits she doesn’t have great memories.
“The first movie we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable… my Converse (sneakers) being completely soaked through and (I was) feeling like, ‘You know, this is a really great group of people and I’m sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone’,” Anna explains.

“Although, it was also kind of bonding. There was something about it, like, if you go through some trauma event. Like you imagine people who survive a hostage situation, and you’re kind of bonded for life.”

Tom Cruise Dodges Britain's New Quarantine Rule for 'Mission: Impossible VII' Filming

    WENN

The ‘Top Gun’ actor is believed to have arrived in the country through Biggin Hill airport outside of London just hours before the new measures for visitors came into play.
    Jun 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tom Cruise has reportedly side-stepped the British Government’s new quarantine measures by flying into the U.K. just hours before new rules for visitors came into play.
Cruise is believed to have landed at Biggin Hill airport outside of London on Sunday, June 07 ahead of resuming filming on “Mission: Impossible VII” – just hours before U.K. government rules requiring anyone entering the country to spend 14 days in isolation came into effect.
According to editors at British newspaper The Sun, the “Top Gun” star beat the new quarantine rules, and is now free to resume filming of the new “Mission: Impossible” movie at the blockbuster’s set at an abandoned RAF base in rural Oxfordshire.
A source told the publication: “It’s no accident Tom arrived on Sunday night – they didn’t want their leading man locked away on his own for 14 days.”
“There have already been so many delays to the film and everyone is keen to get it up and running at the first possible second – so slipping in before the quarantine rules came in on Monday made sense. Hopefully it will mean the film can get back on track and finished without any more delays.”
After arriving on the 11-hour flight from Clearwater, Florida, the 57-year-old was whisked away to luxury rented accommodation in the capital – and will use a helicopter to travel to and from the set during filming breaks.
Shooting on the latest instalment in the action franchise was halted in February, after coronavirus outbreaks prevented filming in Venice, Italy.
Movie bosses have taken over an old Royal Air Force (RAF) site in Oxfordshire where they are reportedly building sets, and a village of high-end trailers so Cruise and the rest of the cast can live there in a pandemic-proof bubble while shooting.

'Percy Jackson' Author Vows to Fix Movie Errors Through New Disney+ Series

    WENN/Johnny Louis

Rick Riordan admits to have not seen the big screen adaptations of his book series after being so turned off by the scripts when a fan expressed admiration that he dislikes the movies more than fans.
    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – The author of the “Percy Jackson” book series is hoping his new Disney+ series will correct errors in the movie adaptations he has never seen.
Rick Riordan admits he’s not a fan of the film franchise and was so turned off by the scripts he vowed never to watch the movies, starring Logan Lerman.
When a fan tweeted it’s “refreshing” that the author dislikes the movies more than fans over the weekend, he responded, “Well, to you guys, it’s a couple hours entertainment. To me, it’s my life’s work going through a meat grinder when I pleaded with them not to do it. So yeah. But it’s fine. All fine. We’re gonna fix it soon…”
‘Percy Jackson’ author vows to fix movie errors through new Disney+ series.
“Finally, I still have not seen the movies, and don’t plan on ever doing so. I judge them from having read the scripts, because I care most about the story. I certainly have nothing against the very talented actors. Not their fault. I’m just sorry they got dragged into that mess.”
Rick Riordan is not a fan of ‘Percy Jackson’ movies.
The author recently announced that he’s working on a “Percy Jackson” TV series for Disney+ – and this time it will be a faithful adaptation of the books.
“We are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original ‘Percy Jackson’ five-book series, starting with ‘The Lightning Thief’ in Season 1,” Riordan wrote.

Report: Matt Reeves' 'The Batman' Sequel to Introduce a New Joker

According to an industry insider, the director plans to recast the role and feature the new incarnation of the supervillain in the second and third movies.
    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” sequel(s) may feature a new, yet familiar face. Words on the street are the filmmaker is going to include the famous DC Comics villain, the Joker, in his Batman trilogy, with a new actor taking on the role.
According to The Direct, its contributing insider Daniel Richtman reveals that Reeves plans to feature the new incarnation of Joker in the second and third movies as one of the films’ multiple villains. The new Joker will also be referenced in the upcoming “The Batman”, though he likely won’t appear in the film.
The site also notes that casting for the role has not begun yet.
Previously, Robert Pattinson, who is cast as the Caped Crusader in Reeves’ movie, sparked a speculation of a possible crossover with Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker following his interview with Variety in 2019. At the time, Variety New York bureau chief Ramin Setoodeh wrote, “At one point in our conversation, [Pattinson] offers a mundane comment about Joaquin Phoenix, who stars in Joker (a movie he hasn’t seen yet), before asking to retract it.”
” ‘Oh s**t,’ he says, adding that he’s not accustomed to thinking about spoilers,” Setoodeh recalled. The British actor went on to tell Setoodeh, “I definitely should not say that. I’m so used to pretty art-house movies, where you can watch the movie three times and still not know what it’s about.”
It’s not clear what spoiler that he might have dropped, but people started speculating about the possible crossover.
Meanwhile, another report by We Got This Covered last April mentioned that the sequel to Reeves’ movie would feature its version of the Joker (or Jokers) taking center stage, along with the beginnings of a full-on love story between Batman and Catwoman, who will be portrayed by Zoe Kravitz in the movie.
The movie production has been halted due to the coronavirus outbreak. The pic has been scheduled for a June 25, 2021 launch. It’s currently unknown if the coronavirus pandemic will affect the release date.

Willem Dafoe's Violent Acting During 'Tommaso' Filming Shocked Italian Neighbors

    Faliro House Productions

Cristina Chiriac, the wife of director Abel Ferrara and the actor’s partner in the film, reveals that they had difficulty convincing people not to call the police when they shot the aggressive scene.
    Jun 9, 2020
AceShowbiz – Abel Ferrara and Willem Dafoe’s neighbours in Rome, Italy were so convinced a real-life drama was playing out before them as the old friends shot new movie “Tommaso”, they had to convince people not to call the police.
Filmmaker Ferrara shot the film – his sixth with Dafoe – in his home in Rome and one scene called on his leading man to be violent and aggressive towards the director’s real wife and child.
And the “Platoon” star’s acting was a little too realistic.
“It was very real and very rough,” Ferrara’s wife Cristina Chiriac, who plays Dafoe’s partner in the film, says. “The neighbours would come out to their windows and stare like, ‘What happened!’.
“We live in a building with five floors and a girl from the third floor saw this happening but she didn’t understand we were filming with the camera. She thought Willem was really hurting me! She said (through the door), ‘Did he do something to you? I’m going to call the police.’ We told her we were filming but she was absolutely convinced that Willem was going to hurt us and something happened.”
And the director’s young daughter, Anna, had a real problem with all the shouting and the drama.
“She usually does two takes but she didn’t want to do the second one in this scene where Willem loses his temper and screams, and throws a lamp,” Abel explains.
Chiriac adds, “The scene with Anna and Willem, we did one take and she freaked out a little bit because she usually sees Willem as nice and gentle and then when he screamed out of the blue she said, ‘No, I don’t like it. Why is he screaming?’ We would tell her it’s not reality, it’s for the camera and he’s not mean, he’s a good man! It’s not cool to push something like that.”
