Matt Bomer Would Love to Direct 'American Horror Story' Spin-Off

    WENN

The ‘White Collar’ alum would be happy to return for the next ‘American Horror Story’ and is especially keen to step behind the lens for the newly-announced spin-off project.
    Jun 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Actor Matt Bomer is keen to step behind the camera to direct an episode of the forthcoming “American Horror Story” spin-off series.
The coronavirus crisis has forced showrunner Ryan Murphy to alter his plans for the show’s 10th season, instead announcing “American Horror Stories” – an anthology series that features a new tale in each episode, as opposed to the show’s usual season-long narrative.
Speaking during a new interview with Digital Spy, Matt, who appeared in both the “Freak Show” and “Hotel” series, confessed he’d “love” to return to the show, calling Murphy “the architect of my career.”
“When he calls, I’m there,” he laughed. “He’ll know better than anybody if there’s a role that’s right for me on American Horror Story or not.”
However, if an onscreen part isn’t in the cards, Bomer would love to get behind the camera, teasing, “What I would love to do is to direct one of the American Horror Story one-offs that they’re talking about doing.”
“That would be really, really fun,” the actor added. “You’d get to work with that cast, and tell that story as a director. I’m such a fan of the show, and of that genre, so I think it would be really fun to do.”
A release date for the new series, which will air on FX on Hulu – a section on the streaming service – has yet to be announced.

'American Horror Story' Spin-Off in the Works at FX

Developed by creator Ryan Murphy, the new anthology series is planned to be named ‘American Horror Stories’ with each episode focusing on a different ghost story.
    May 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – A spin-off to hit series “American Horror Story” has been officially given the go-ahead from bosses at the FX network.
They have announced the production is officially in the works as part of their 2020-2021 programming slate, just weeks after creator Ryan Murphy revealed he was developing the venture.
Few details about the new project have been revealed, but the writer/producer plans to name it “American Horror Stories”, and each episode of the anthology series will focus on a different ghost story.

Murphy teased the idea on social media earlier this month, as he shared a photo from a video conference call he recently hosted with his TV cast, including Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Kathy Bates.

Season 10 of 'American Horror Story' to Feature Macaulay Culkin and Kathy Bates' 'Crazy' Sex Scene

    WENN

Series creator Ryan Murphy reveals in a new interview that he has done writing the scripts for the new installment of the series, though the production has yet to start due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
    May 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Details about Macaulay Culkin’s role for his debut appearance in season 10 of “American Horror Story” have found their way out online. In a new interview, series creator Ryan Murphy reveals what fans could expect from the “Home Alone” star’s character when the season arrives.
“I have always loved Macaulay Culkin’s work,” Ryan said to E! News. “I loved everything that he’s done, I love the stuff he did in ‘Home Alone’, I also loved the sort of the older, more recent stuff that he did. And he hasn’t worked in a while.”
Ryan then hinted at “this very, very great insane part.” He went on saying, “And I asked to speak to him on the phone and he said OK.”
“[When] I cast, I never let people read things, usually. I said, ‘OK, here’s the pitch.’ And I told them the character and I told him he has crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates and does other things,” he continued. “And he paused and he goes, ‘This sounds like the role I was born to play.’ So, he signed up right then and there.”
Ryan revealed that he had done writing the scripts. However, production has yet to start due to the Coronavirus pandemic. “We’re waiting for the crisis to be over because all those scripts are written and I’m excited for him to play that part,” he shared his excitement.
“I’m excited for him to be in my world because I think…I’m gonna want to do a lot of things with him if he wants to work, because I think he’s fascinating and interesting, and I think he has a soul,” Ryan went on gushing over Macaulay, who was announced back in February as a cast member of the new installment. “There’s both a lightness and a darkness with Macaulay Culkin that I’m attracted to.”
In addition to Kathy, Macaulay will join Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Finn Wittrock, Lily Rabe and Adina Porter.

'American Horror Story' Creator Has to Rethink Season 10 Plot Due to Coronavirus Pandemic

    WENN

Weeks after COVID-19 shut down productions worldwide, Ryan Murphy admits that he has been contemplating between pushing production back by a year or changing theme.
    May 6, 2020
AceShowbiz – The coronavirus pandemic has forced TV guru Ryan Murphy to rethink the plot for the next season of “American Horror Story” because the shoot was “weather-dependent”.
The writer/producer had been gearing up to start work on the 10th season of the hit drama show when the COVID-19 crisis hit in March, shutting down productions worldwide.
It’s still unknown when filming will be able to resume, and as a result, Murphy has been debating whether to push production back by a year, or change the theme of season 10 completely so he and his cast and crew can begin shooting new episodes of the anthology series when U.S. authorities lift lockdown restrictions.
“A lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment, it was a weather-dependent show,” Murphy told TheWrap. “So now I don’t know (what will happen with season 10)… I don’t know if I’ll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one.”
He continued, “You know, nobody (from the FX network) so far has called me up and said, ‘OK, we have a plan to move forward for shooting’. So until that day, everybody is kind of on pause.”
“I honestly don’t know (what we’ll do). But it’s a great season and I know all the actors are chomping at the bit to get into it, so that’s all I know.”
Murphy has been keeping details about the next “American Horror Story” run under wraps, although prior to the Hollywood shutdown, he did confirm the return of franchise regulars Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Leslie Grossman, and Billie Lourd, as well as the involvement of special guest Macaulay Culkin.
He shared the casting news via Instagram back in February, when he appeared to hint at a beach theme by unveiling each name against a backdrop featuring waves crashing on the sand as Orville Peck’s “Dead of Night” played over the footage.

Season 10 had been due to premiere later this year.

Leslie Jordan Recalls Lady GaGa 'Riding' Him on 'American Horror Story: Roanoke' Set

    FX

During his Instagram series ‘Pillow Talk’, the regular cast on the ‘AHS’ series franchise opens up about his first impression of the ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker and his experience working with her.
    May 4, 2020
AceShowbiz – Leslie Jordan shared a hilarious memory about working with Lady GaGa on “American Horror Story: Roanoke” during his Instagram series “Pillow Talk”.
During a new episode of his show, the 65-year-old actor recalled filming a scene with the 34-year-old hitmaker, when the two worked together on Ryan Murphy’s hit FX series.
“I can tell when I meet you, within three minutes, how you were raised. When I met Lady Gaga on the American Horror set… beautifully brought up,” he shared. “‘Please, thank you.’ Lovely girl.”
However, the star went on to explain GaGa’s interesting approach to acting, which came to light when they rehearsed a scene in which her character murders his.
“We had a scene where she was gonna blow fairy dust in my face, and then knock me down, and blind me, chase me, and then roll me over, kick me,” Leslie explained. “And then she was supposed to squat down on me and cut me with a knife.”
He continued: “She took me in the woods right before we shot,” and she said, “You know, I tend to sexualise all my acting partners”. I thought, “Where’s this going?.”
“Well honey, she kicked me, rolled me over, and got down on me and started riding me… I didn’t know what I was supposed to do! I just laid there and thought, ‘How do I get myself into these situations?’.”
