    AceShowbiz –
Warner Bros. Pictures has released the first official trailer of “Those Who Wish Me Dead”, a neo-Western survival action thriller starring Angelina Jolie. The Oscar-winning actress portrays Hannah, a smoke jumper who is still reeling from the loss of three lives she failed to save from a fire when she comes across a traumatized 12-year-old boy with nowhere else to turn.

The young boy, Connor Casserly, who is portrayed by Finn Little, witnesses the murder of his father near a large national forest. Pursued by assassins intent on silencing him, he soon meets the veteran fire warden and wilderness survival expert, Hannah, who offers him shelter in her lookout tower.

When the assassins set fire to the forest in order to cover their tracks, the pair must both survive a deadly blaze that threatens to consume them and outwit the killers on their trail.

“Those Who Wish Me Dead” is directed by Taylor Sheridan, the writer of “Sicario” and co-creator of “Yellowstone”, with the screenplay written by Michael Koryta and Charles Leavitt and Sheridan, based on the book of the same name by Koryta.

Described as “a female-driven neo-western set against a wildfire in the Montana wilderness,” the film also stars Nicholas Hoult as Patrick Blackwell, a trained assassin, Aidan Gillen as Patrick’s father Jack Blackwell, who is also a ruthless assassin, Jon Bernthal as a sheriff in Montana, and Tyler Perry in an undisclosed role.

“She carries a lot of guilt, and is quite broken,” Jolie told PEOPLE of her character. “She’s a smoke jumper, and a bit of an adrenaline junkie, but she’s also somebody that has experienced tragedy, and she feels responsible for it.”

She went on elaborating what the film is about, “On its surface, the story feels like a thriller, with a lot of really interesting characters and a great adventure across unusual terrain, inside a great fire. But, underneath, it’s an emotional film about people who are thrown together to survive.”

“Those Who Wish Me Dead” is set to arrive in theaters and on HBO Max on May 14.

Angelina Jolie to Direct True-Story Movie 'Unreasonable Behavior'

    WENN

The ‘First They Killed My Father’ helmer has enlisted the upcoming biopic of the legendary war photographer Don Mccullin as her next directorial big screen project.

    Nov 20, 2020
AceShowbiz – Angelina Jolie will direct the forthcoming biopic, “Unreasonable Behaviour”, on the life of legendary war photographer Don Mccullin.
Produced by Tom Hardy and Dean Baker, the film is an “unflinching account of the celebrated British war photographer’s life, which took him from poverty-stricken, wartime London to some of the world’s most dangerous war zones,” according to Deadline.
In a statement, Jolie admitted she’s “humbled to have a chance to bring Don McCullin’s life to film,” sharing, “I was drawn to his unique combination of fearlessness and humanity – his absolute commitment to witnessing the truth of war, and his empathy and respect for those who suffer its consequences.”

“We hope to make a film that is as uncompromising as Don’s photography, about the extraordinary people and events he witnessed, and the rise and fall of a unique era in journalism.”
Don himself added, “Having viewed Angelina’s last film on Cambodia (and having spent so much time during the war there) I was very impressed at how she made such a powerful and accurate representation of the place at that time. I feel as if I am in safe, capable and professional hands with her.”
BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Gregory Burke is writing the screenplay, which is based on McCullin’s autobiography of the same name and offers an unflinching account of his experiences in poverty-stricken, wartime London and some of the world’s most dangerous war zones.
Angelina Jolie’s directorial movies include 2007’s documentary “A Place in Time”, 2011’s anti-war film “In the Land of Blood and Honey”, 2014’s true-story movie “Unbroken”, 2015’s romantic drama “By the Sea” with then-husband Brad Pitt, and the most recent one 2017’s Cambodian historical thriller “First They Killed My Father”.

    Oct 10, 2020
AceShowbiz – The first trailer for fantasy movie “Come Away” is here for viewing pleasure. Led by Angelina Jolie in the cast, the movie depicts two beloved characters from “Peter Pan” and “Alice in Wonderland” as siblings with Jolie and David Oyelowo as their parents, Rose and Jack Littleton.
Their idyllic life is threatened to end when a financial crisis hits the family and Eleanor Morrow (Anna Chancellor), who seems to be the movie’s iteration of Red Queen, tries to separate Alice from her family. Determined to keep their family together, Peter and Alice embark on an adventure that will be the beginning of their own stories in “Peter Pan” and “Alice in Wonderland”.
The trailer includes a reference to the popular character Tinkerbell as Rose introduces the fictional fairy to her son. While Jolie is mostly seen playing her mother role to Alice and Peter, she’s later seen transforming into what looks like the White Queen from the “Alice in Wonderland” tale.

“In this imaginative origin story of two of the most beloved characters in literature – Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland – eight-year-old Alice (Keira Chansa), her mischievous brother Peter (Jordan A. Nash) and their brilliant older sibling David (Reece Yates) let their imaginations run wild one blissful summer in the English countryside. Encouraged by their parents Jack and Rose, the kids’ make-believe tea parties, sword fights and pirate ship adventures come to an abrupt end when tragedy strikes. Peter, eager to prove himself a hero to his grief-stricken and financially-struggling parents, journeys with Alice to London, where they try to sell a treasured heirloom to the sinister pawnshop owner known as C.J. (David Gyasi). Returning home, Alice seeks temporary refuge in a wondrous rabbit hole while Peter permanently escapes reality by entering a magical realm as leader of the ‘Lost Boys’.”
