    Rumors of Amber Heard Being Fired From 'Aquaman 2' Deemed 'Inaccurate'

    AceShowbiz – Amber Heard isn’t being kicked out of the “Aquaman” franchise despite latest rumors stating otherwise. Reports swirled on the Internet anew that the actress was fired from “Aquaman 2”, though it’s not directly related to a petition asking for her removal from the upcoming movie or due to her ongoing defamation case against ex-husband Johnny Depp.
    Instead, according to the unconfirmed reports, the 34-year-old beauty was let go because she didn’t meet the physical requirement for the “Aquaman” sequel. She reportedly violated a clause in her contract for the Warner Bros. superhero movie because she’s gained weight.
    “Amber Heard did not pass her physical examination,” a source told Australian site Sausage Roll. “She’s put on some pounds and is in terrible shape. There is a clause in her contract which says she is required to be in good form ahead of shooting and she violated that.”
    The site additionally noted that Heard’s role demands her physical fitness to perform the stunts and the studio terminated her because she’s not in shape to handle such demanding task. It’s further reported that the studio was eying “Game of Thrones” alum Emilia Clarke to replace Heard.
    But before the rumors spread like wildfire, it has been debunked. The Hollywood Reporter’s staff writer Ryan Parker put to question the reliability of the information about Heard’s firing as he tweeted on Sunday, February 28, “Told by a reliable source that reports of Amber Heard being fired off ‘Aquaman 2’ are inaccurate.”

    Back in 2020, more than one million people called for Heard’s removal from the “Aquaman” franchise amid her prolonged legal battle with her ex Depp. As petition urging Warner Bros. to replace the actress crossed the 1 million mark, the “Justice League” star countered it by declaring that she’s returning for the sequel.
    “I’m super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that ‘Aquaman’ has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for ‘Aquaman’ and Mera that it means we’ll be coming back,” she said last November. “I’m so excited to film that.”
    She went insisting, “Paid rumors and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate (casting decisions) because they have no basis in reality. Only the fans actually made ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Aquaman 2’ happen. I’m excited to get started next year.”
    The petition gained a lot of support after Warner Bros. decided to remove Depp from “Fantastic Beasts 3” following his libel case loss against The Sun newspaper editors, who called him a “wife-beater” in a story.

      AceShowbiz – Amber Heard has confirmed she’ll be reprising her role as Mera in the “Aquaman” sequel, despite a fan petition to recast the part.
      More than one million people have signed the note urging Warner Bros. bosses to replace Amber after they recently axed her ex-husband Johnny Depp from his role in the latest “Fantastic Beasts” film following his libel case loss against The Sun newspaper editors, who called him a “wife-beater” in a story.
      The new change.org petition to “Remove Amber Heard from ‘Aquaman 2’ ” crossed the one million signatures mark on Thursday morning (November 12), but Heard insists she isn’t going anywhere and tells Entertainment Weekly she’s all set to return to the Marvel franchise.

      “I’m super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that ‘Aquaman’ has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for ‘Aquaman’ and Mera that it means we’ll be coming back,” she said. “I’m so excited to film that.”
      “Paid rumours and paid campaigns on social media don’t dictate (casting decisions) because they have no basis in reality. Only the fans actually made ‘Aquaman’ and ‘Aquaman 2’ happen. I’m excited to get started next year,” the 34-year-old actress insisted.
      Meanwhile, the actress is still facing a defamation suit from her ex after suggesting he abused her in a 2019 Washington Post article.
      Depp insists he was never abusive towards his ex, denying all her claims against him. He plans to appeal the U.K. court’s decision over his libel case.

      AceShowbiz – The “Aquaman” sequel could see a new face as Mera. Words are Warner Bros. are considering to replace Amber Heard with Emily Blunt in the follow-up to the superhero film amid the former’s ongoing messy divorce battle with her ex Johnny Depp.
      News of Heard’s possible firing from the DC franchise has been on the rounds on for months now and was first reported by We Got This Covered, which also got the tidbit about Blunt being a contender to take over the role. Back in February, the site claimed that studio execs wanted to recast the role of Mera due to the bad press surrounding Heard and the huge number of fans who are now turning against her.
      Heard has been embroiled in a legal drama with her former husband Depp, whom she accused of domestic violence during their marriage. Depp paid Heard a settlement of US$7 million, which she donated to the ACLU and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
      Later in 2019, Depp sued Heard for defamation after she wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post in which she made a claim about being a victim of domestic abuse and alluded to allegations she made against Depp in their explosive 2016 divorce.
      More details of the ex-couple’s nasty split were recently uncovered during Depp’s libel trial against U.K. tabloid The Sun and its publisher News Group Newspapers (NGN). While the tabloid branded the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor a “wife-beater” in a 2018 article, fellow stars like Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz and Winona Ryder have defended Depp in his defamation lawsuit against Heard.
      As for Blunt, the actress received nominations for her role in 2018’s “Mary Poppins Returns” and won an SAG Award for best supporting actress for her performance in “A Quiet Place”, which was directed by her husband John Krasinski. The British actress returns for the sequel, “A Quiet Place Part II”, which release has been postponed to April 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

      Words are Warner Bros. is actively discussing about possibly replacing the 33-year-old star in “Aquaman 2”. While there’s still no final decision on the matter, several execs at the studio want to recast the role of Mera due to the bad press surrounding Heard and the huge number of fans who are now turning against her, We Got This Covered reports.

Babe, you’re not punched,” she can be heard saying in the audio. “I don’t know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you’re fine, I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you.”
      Following the leak of the audio, people demanded “Justice for Johnny Depp” and launched a petition on Change.org, requesting the removal of the actress from “Aquaman 2”. More than 190,000 people have signed the petition.
      Previously, WB was also considering to replace Depp in the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise due to the domestic abuse allegations against him by Heard. The studio, however, made the controversial decision to keep him for the 2018 sequel, “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”.
