Discovery channel is trying to crack the mystery behind the 2009 death of the ‘Clueless’ actress in a new documentary called ‘Brittany Murphy: An ID Mystery’.
    May 31, 2020
AceShowbiz – The death of actress Brittany Murphy has been flagged as suspicious in a new documentary.
The “Clueless” star died at the age of 32 in 2009 and the Los Angeles County coroner ruled her death an “accident caused by a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and multiple drug intoxication,” but the cause is now being called into question by producers behind new Investigation Discovery network TV documentary “Brittany Murphy: An ID Mystery”.
The filmmakers insist a featured interview with Murphy’s father, Angelo Bertolotti, filmed shortly before his death last year 2019 raises a host of concerns about the circumstances surrounding the actress’ final hours.
”Brittany Murphy is a rising star who had it all, beauty, fame, and success… but she also had secrets,” a press release reads. “When she is found dead in her Los Angeles home at just 32 years old, Hollywood and legions of fans are left in disbelief. While her autopsy reveals that she died of natural causes, many believe foul play is involved.”
The documentarians go on to suggest her husband at the time, screenwriter Simon Monjack, may have had a hand in her death. He died from similar causes to Brittany in 2010.
”Within months, Monjack perishes under strikingly similarly circumstances – in the same bed he and Brittany once shared, only this time, allegedly with Brittany’s mother sleeping beside him,” the statement continues. ”In an exclusive final interview, the late Angelo Bertolotti – Brittany’s father – casts doubt on the conclusion that she died of natural causes and reveals bizarre allegations against other family members.”
