    Fourth 'Ghostbusters' Movie Already In the Works as Third Film Pushed Back to 2021

    Director Jason Reitman has already worked on a fourth movie as the upcoming third installment is delayed for a year following the global coronavirus pandemic.

    AceShowbiz – Director Jason Reitman is already at work on the fourth “Ghostbusters” movie even though the COVID-19 lockdown forced him to delay the release of the latest sequel to 2021.
    The filmmaker has resurrected his father Ivan’s original film franchise with “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, which was set to hit the big screen this year 2020, but will now be released in March.
    “We are working on another instalment,” Jason said during a “Ghostbusters” online reunion organised by Josh Gad, which dropped on Monday.
    His new “Ghostbusters” film will serve as the official follow-up to 1989’s “Ghostbusters II”. Bill Murray, Dan Akyroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver will all reprise their roles in the film, which will introduce new characters portrayed by Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace.

      While Sony Pictures bumped the release of several movies, including ‘Uncharted’ and ‘Greyhound’, from their summer schedule, Kevin Hart’s ‘Fatherhood’ will be released three months earlier.

      AceShowbiz – Bosses at Sony Pictures have bumped the release of several movies from their summer schedule due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
      With movie theatres worldwide in shut down due to the global health crisis, movies set to be released this summer, including “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, “Uncharted”, “Greyhound”, and “Morbius”, have been delayed.
      “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, which sees the return of original cast members Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, has been pushed from its original date of July 10 to March 5, 2021, with “Morbius”, which stars Jared Leto and was originally slated to hit theatres on July 31, now opening on March 19, 2021.
      “Greyhound”, starring Tom Hanks, was set for a July 12 release, with no new date announced, and Tom Holland’s “Uncharted”, which delayed the start of production earlier this month, is now slated to open on October 8, 2021, after being bumped from its March 5, 2021 date.
      However, its not all bad news as Kevin Hart’s comedy “Fatherhood”, will actually be opening earlier – on October 23, up from its original January 15, 2021 release.
      An untitled Sony-Marvel movie has also been pushed from October 8, 2021 and is awaiting a new release date.

      The ‘Lady Bird’ actor claims to be in the right place at the right time when writer/director Jason Reitman was looking for someone to fill a small part in the new movie.

      AceShowbiz – Tracy Letts has snagged a “small part” alongside his actress wife Carrie Coon in the new “Ghostbusters” movie.
      The “Lady Bird” actor and playwright reveals he was in the right place at the right time when writer/director Jason Reitman was looking for someone to fill a role in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, which was filmed in Calgary, Canada.
      “My wife Carrie is in… the new ‘Ghostbusters’ movie coming out in the summer, and we were there in Calgary while she was shooting it, and a role became available, and so I was able to jump in and play a small part in it myself,” he said.
      The project will also feature Paul Rudd, “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard and “Gifted” actress Mckenna Grace, as well as guest appearances by original franchise stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts, but Letts is unable to share any details about the film’s plot or the character he plays.
      Joking about the secrecy surrounding the movie, he told U.S. breakfast show “Today”, “Here’s what I can tell you: nothing! Absolutely nothing!”

      “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is set to launch in July.
