    Jackson Browne Holding Livestream Concert for Native American Scholarship Fund

    The 72-year-old legendary singer/songwriter is leading a string of musicians for a virtual Dream Concert to raise money for the Native American Scholarship Fund.

    AceShowbiz – Jackson Browne is supporting the Native American Scholarship Fund as he leads the line-up for his annual Dream Concert on Saturday (10Oct20).
    The legendary singer-songwriter is joined by stars including Michael Franti, Bruce Cockburn, Calexico, Shawn Colvin, and more for the concert, which begins at 9 pm ET.
    Browne originated the gathering over 30 years ago, when he held an outdoor music festival on the Verde Valley School campus. It then became an annual affair, which raised tuition assistance for the Native American students.
    Past performers include Neil Young, John Trudell, Bonnie Raitt, Indigo Girls, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Ben Harper, and many more.

    “The nation, indeed the world, needs a school that will bring together children from many nations, many cultures, all races and religions, not simply to study and tolerate on another, but to learn from and celebrate their differences,” commented Hamilton Warren, Verde Valley School Founder.
    Jackson Browne also said, “Verde Valley School was founded to be a peace academy – a school in which you study with international students and you promote an understanding of the ways in which the world can be harnessed for good and that we can all work towards peace. I still think that that’s one of the most important ways of changing the world, and that is by educating ourselves and each other – those children as the path to the future. It’s really all we’ve got: our kids.”
    This year’s livestream will also feature appearances by Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers, Edward Sharpe, Dene-Canadian rocker Leela Gilday, and more to be announced.

      The ‘Take It Easy’ star and his tour mate James Taylor have decided to pull the plug on their upcoming tour following coronavirus diagnosis amid the global pandemic.

      AceShowbiz – Coronavirus sufferer Jackson Browne and James Taylor have postponed their joint summer 2020 tour.
      The trek was slated to begin in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 15, 2020, but the two singer/songwriters have decided to shelve the dates and plan a road trip later in the year.
      A statement from the duo reads, “As this summer’s tour of 27 towns and cities across the U.S. drew near, we’ve been increasingly excited to hit the road again, so it’s deeply disappointing for both of us to have to call it off and reschedule (and reschedule we WILL)!”
      “As we all now realize, COVID-19 is a serious, real and present danger. Moreover, our public health is all of our responsibility. So let us listen to and follow the directions of our public healthcare people and support their efforts in this unprecedented time of global pandemic. Love those around you and, above all, stay safe and healthy.”
      Browne recently tested positive for COVID-19, telling Rolling Stone he has mild symptoms and is spending time in quarantine at his home in Los Angeles.
      Meanwhile, Niall Horan has been forced to cancel his upcoming “Nice to Meet Ya World Tour” due to the pandemic, also announcing the news to fans on social media on Friday, April 3, 2020.
      “Given the unprecedented circumstances I have decided to not move forward with the ‘Nice To Meet Ya’ world tour this year,” he writes. “This was a difficult decision, but the well-being of my fans and touring family is always my top priority.”
      “Not being able to tour for what is effectively most of 2020 just didn’t feel right and I’m so sorry to all you amazing people who bought tickets. I look forward to being able to bring new music and a new tour for all of my fans around the world in 2021. I want to announce new dates soon but I don’t think it’s fair on you guys to do so until the dust has settled and things have gone back to normal.”
      “For the time being, please stay safe everyone. Love you all.”
      The pandemic has forced the cancellation or postponement of a series of top tours headlined by the likes of Green Day, Foo Fighters, BTS (Bangtan Boys), Slipknot, and the Zac Brown Band, as well as all major music festivals and events around the world.

      AceShowbiz – Jackson Browne is releasing an uplifting new coronavirus anthem after revealing he has tested positive for COVID-19.
      “A Little Soon to Say” will drop digitally on Friday, March 27.
      The singer/songwriter, who confirmed he’s in quarantine after contracting the killer virus on Tuesday, admits he wrote the song prior to the ongoing pandemic, but realises the lyrics ring true to the crisis and the U.S. government’s handling of it.
      “I thought, ‘Just do that now,’ ” he tells Rolling Stone. “Just put it out now while these things are so uncertain.”
      Browne says the students who challenged gun laws after the Parkland high school shooting in Florida and teen eco-warrior Greta Thunberg inspired the new track. “(I was) thinking about the generation – the Parkland students, and Greta Thunberg, and the young people who have been very vocal, saying, ‘You’re not making any real attempt to change things in a way for us to have the planet you had’. How do you pass this mess on to the next generation, the future generations?” he explains.

      “A Little Soon to Say” will be the B-side to Browne’s upcoming single “Downhill From Everywhere”, which will be released on 29 May.

      Browne is still scheduled to hit the road with James Taylor this summer.
