Part of the soundtrack to a biopic directed by Shaka King and starring Daniel Kaluuya, ‘What It Feels Like’ is scheduled to be released in full on February 12.

    Feb 10, 2021
AceShowbiz – Hours after it was announced, Jay-Z and Nipsey Hussle’s highly-anticipated collaboration has been previewed in a trailer for “Judas and the Black Messiah”. Titled “What It Feels Like”, it plays over the scenes of the biographical pic starring Daniel Kaluuya.
“And this is what it feels like,” the late Nipsey spits his repeated lines in the chorus. He continues, “Look, the only reason I survive ’cause a n***a is special, first/ You get successful, then it get stressful, thirst/ N***as gon’ test you, see what your texture’s worth/ Diamonds and pipes, wonder when pressure burst.”
Jay-Z raps in the next verse, “I arrived on the day Fred Hampton got mur-hold up/ Assassinated just to clarify further. Black stones on my neck, y’all can’t kill Christ/ Black Messiah is what I feel like/ S**t ain’t gon’ stop till y’all spill blood/ We gon’ turn up even more since y’all killed cuz’.”

“What It Feels Like” is included on the soundtrack to “Judas and the Black Messiah”, which is set to arrive on Friday, February 12. The star-studded tracklist features Nas, Rakim, A$AP Rocky, Lil Durk, Black Thought, Polo G, G Herbo (Lil Herb) and Hit-Boy, who executive produced the album.
“What It Feels Like” marks Jay and Nipsey’s first collaboration, though they had built friendship years before the latter’s passing, when the “4:44” rapper co-signed the “Racks in the Middle” spitter’s #Proud2Pay movement.
Jay was last featured in a song as a performer in 2018’s “Apes**t”, his latest collaboration with his wife Beyonce Knowles, as well as in DJ Khaled’s “Top Off”, which was also released in the same year. He has recorded for Pharrell Williams’ song “Entrepreneur”, but the song is yet to be unleashed.
As for Nipsey, his song “Racks in the Middle” featuring Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy was released posthumously in 2019 and received a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance at the 62nd Grammy Awards. He also won Best Rap/Sung Performance for another song, “Higher”, at the same event.

Young Thug Dragged on Twitter After Claiming to Have More 'Stadium Anthems' Than Jay-Z

    WENN/https://www.beyonce.com//Apega

The ‘Stoner’ rapper is trending on the blue bird app for shading the ‘Run This Town’ spitter though he quickly retracts his comment and acknowledges that Hova probably has more than 50 stadium-worthy songs.

    Dec 29, 2020
AceShowbiz – Young Thug has made himself a sort of public enemy after dissing one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the late 20th to early 21st century. The Atlanta native has caught a lot of flak from Twitter users after questioning Jay-Z’s music catalog.
Appearing in a Monday, December 28 episode of Gillie Da Kid’s “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, Thugger was bragging about having 30 or 40 stadium-worthy anthems. He then compared his songs to Jigga’s, saying, “Jay-Z ain’t got 30 songs like that.”
Gillie disagreed, saying of Hova, “He got a lot, though.” Apparently realizing he said something wrong, Thug quickly backtracked on his remark as he acknowledged, “I’m just saying like, I know he do, he probably got 50 of them b***hes.”
“I’m not literally saying him,” the 29-year-old went on clarifying. “I’m saying n***as who you thinking … I seen n***as like, ‘Damn, they don’t know this song?’ I’m so scared to get boo’ed, I don’t even perform songs they won’t know.”

With a career that has spanned over two decades and 13 studio albums, Jay-Z has a bunch of Billboard hits and has sold over 29,179,000 studio albums as of December 2014. Meanwhile, Thug has released one solo studio album, three EPs and 19 mixtapes.

While Thug quickly backtracked on his comment, the damage has been done. Jay-Z’s fans won’t let it pass and has been dragging the “Go Crazy” spitter on Twitter, making his name trending on the blue bird app for the wrong reason.
“25 years of rapping and Jay-Z don’t have 30 songs that a stadium knows and Young Thug does? Bruh…..cmon,” freelance journalist Keith Nelson Jr. reacted to Thug’s remark. Another noted, “First he disrespected 3 Stacks & now he’s dissing Jay-Z saying he doesn’t have 30 songs like that. Young Thug took a bad audience not knowing Jay’s s**t & is using it to further divide youth & elders. We don’t need this negativity separating 2 artists with hella fans & influence.”
“Did Young Thug compare his ignorant a** to Jay Z??” a third user slammed Thugger. Another told Thug to focus on making music instead, “Young Thug needs to just stop talking on legends and focus on releasing PUNK.”
A fifth commenter added, “Young Thug needs to pipe down. I was born in 1998 and can rap more Jay Z songs Woman shrugging these new generation rappers think to highly of themselves Rolling on the floor laughing nigga Jay-Z entire albums have no skips tf.”
“what does he gain from slandering Jay like are you dumb??” a baffled user asked. Another commented, “Young thug got JAY Z CONFUSED! Lmao n******a WHET,” while someone else quipped, “I’m here tryna figure out if I know 30 young thug songs much less 30 Jay Z songs.”
There were a few, however, who agreed with Thug’s initial comment. “He is not lying tho and this is not him saying he is better than jay z it’s just the truth…..NO ONE KNOWS 30 JAY Z SONGS BY HEART,” one explained. Another argued, “Young Thug ain’t lie tho, Lls the only Jay Z song I know is the story of OJ.”

  • Jay-Z Called a 'Snake' Amid Kanye West's Dispute With Record Label

    WENN

After the ‘Follow God’ rapper shows his contracts with Universal Music, social media users come to the conclusion that Jay sold the masters to Kanye’s albums so he could get his own back.
    Sep 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jay-Z has been dragged by social media users amid Kanye West’s dispute with record label. Earlier this week, the Atlanta rapper shared screenshots of dozens of pages of his contracts with Universal Music Group as he expressed his frustration about not being able to own the rights to his music.
Apparently after making a close inspection of the binding contracts, a Twitter user came to the conclusion that Jay sold the masters to Kanye’s albums so he could get his own back. “Kanye contracts SUMMARY: Apart from the inducement which Kanye had to sign to get his advances. This shows that Jay Z sold the masters to first 6 @kanyewest’s albums just so he could get his own back. He did so knowing Def Jam won’t sell them back to Kanye in future,” the said user wrote, noting, “That’s BEEF!”

Learning of the Roc Nation founder’s sly move to get what he wanted, others have since dubbed him the bad guy in Kanye’s ongoing issue with Universal. “that’s some grimy s**t dude,” one reacted to Jay’s alleged involvement in Kanye’s contracts with the record label.
“What a snake!” a second person called out the husband of Beyonce Knowles. Another added, “Like I have been saying Jay Z was NEVER Kanye’s real friend. This goes beyond Kanye marrying Kim, Jay is a f**king snake. I understand why he did it but it’s still foul no matter how much I don’t like Kanye.”
“Who is surprised? This is Jay-z’s well known nature,” a fourth commenter claimed. “He’s a snake and always has been. Some people like snakes. I remember Diana Ross being okay with a snake until she found out that he took her money too.”
Someone else blasted the “Empire State of Mind” hitmaker, “JayZ is so immoral. Devil in the flesh.” Another similar comment read, “Kanye is unhinged but Jay Z is straight up grimey snake.”
Another acknowledged that “that’s some cutthroat s**t right there but that’s the music business.” Defending Jay for making such decision, someone else wrote, “I mean…if you have to make a choice between owning your masters and owning someone else’s…”
Kanye shared copies of his contracts with Universal on Wednesday, September 16 along with a series of Twitter rants. In one of his controversial posts, he shared a video of him seemingly urinating on his Grammy trophy. He also blasted “white media” for taking down Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby and R. Kelly.
Apparently noticing Kanye’s mention of the disgraced singer, R. Kelly’s lawyer Douglas Anton later reached out to the “Follow God” rapper and offered his help to solve his dispute with Universal. “Kanye. I’m R. Kelly’s lawyer. (For real) Please email all your contracts to me to [email protected] I’ll take a look at all of them. I can’t get them here off Twitter,” the lawyer tweeted, before Ye was temporarily banned from the blue bird app.

  • Jay-Z Called Hypocrite Over 'Black Twitter' and 'Gucci' Lines on 'Entrepreneur'

    https://www.beyonce.com/

The Tidal owner raps at one point on his Pharrell Williams collaboration, ‘Black Twitter, what’s that? When Jack gets paid, do you?/ For every one Gucci, support two FUBUs.’
    Aug 21, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jay-Z’s new song with Pharrell Williams prompted the rapper to get called out by social media users. He and his old friend have just released a black excellence anthem “Entrepreneur”, and some of his lines have successfully become a hot topic on the Internet as he came for Black Twitter.
He rapped at one point on the song, “Black Twitter, what’s that? When Jack gets paid, do you?/ For every one Gucci, support two FUBUs.” Even though Hov simply tried to tell the community that economic empowerment and creating opportunity is the key to lifting black people around the world, some people were baffled because hours before the song’s release, he was spotted on an outing with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
“Jay just HAS to be a hypocrite in most situations. He can never navigate a situation without doing something hypocritical sncjcjcjc,” one person said. “After talking s**t about Black Twitter??” one other was in disbelief, while someone else was just as confused, “Didn’t this n***a just yell at us for using Twitter? I’m so?????”
Meanwhile, some others were bothered by the Gucci line. “Jay Z LOVES Gucci. To the point his own sneaker brand looked like Gucci sneakers. I love when my GOAT is hypocrite,” an individual said. “I hate Jay Z man. Lol. He said we’re on here tweeting and buying gucci when he’s literally having a stroll with Jack Dorsey in the Hamptons lmaoo,” one other commented, as another person chimed in, “Where’s Jay Z’s same energy for when him & his wife had been dripped down in Tom Ford??? Even named a song after Tom Ford… I’m so tired of the hypocrisy.. Lmao.”
The controversy aside, the release of the song was accompanied by a music video that featured the likes of Issa Rae and Tyler, the Creator. It also paused for a moment of silence for the late Nipsey Hussle.
    [embedded content]
Talking about the song in an interview, Pharrell said that the song was meant to describe how difficult it is to be an entrepreneur in the U.S. “Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages. How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire, when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education, and representation?” he said.

  • Jay-Z Goes Beyond Snoop Dogg's Expectation With 'Flawless' 'Still D.R.E.' Collaboration

    https://www.beyonce.com/Instagram

During an interview with New York radio show ‘The Breakfast Club’, Snoop confirms that the ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker has served as a ghostwriter for former N.W.A. icon Dr. Dre.
    Aug 3, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jay-Z blew Snoop Dogg away with his artistry after penning all the lyrics for his Dr. Dre collaboration “Still D.R.E.” in just 30 minutes.
The “Empire State of Mind” hitmaker, real name Shawn Carter, is credited as a writer on the 1999 track, and is long known to have served as a ghostwriter for former N.W.A icon Dre.
However, in a recent interview with New York radio show “The Breakfast Club”, Snoop, who features on the hip-hop classic, reveals Jay-Z also came up with his verse, after he and Death Row Records co-founder, The D.O.C., had trouble coming up with anything worthy of the beat, created by Scott Storch, Mel-Man and Dre.
“Me and D.O.C., he’s one of the greatest writers in hip-hop,” Snoop shared. “We’re in here (the studio) writing this song, struggling with this beat. It’s like, the fourth day.”
“Dr. Dre fly a n***a from New York into L.A. We all in the studio; 30 minutes later, that n***a’s s**t is done. He wrote Dre’s s**t and my s**t and it was flawless, and me and D.O.C. was like, ‘Well, looks like this n***a outstruck us on this one… (sic)'”
“It was ‘Still D.R.E.’ and it was Jay-Z and he wrote the whole f**king song,” Snoop revealed.
    [embedded content]
And he insists the track wouldn’t have worked out so well if Jay-Z hadn’t been such a big fan of Dre, because he was able to write perfectly for his tone and cadence.
“Jay-Z is a great writer to begin with for himself, so imagine him striking it for someone he truly loves and appreciates,” Snoop explained. “He loves Dr. Dre and that’s what his pen showed you, that I can’t write for you if I don’t love you. I love everything about you. I know your get down, your tone, your delivery, the way you ‘sposed to say it…(sic)”
“That is (a) great author… That’s one of Dr. Dre’s best records.”

Snoop Dogg Wants to Battle Jay-Z in Instagram Rap Showdown

    Instagram

Snoop has issued a challenge against Beyonce Knowles’ husband in an Instagram rap battle because he’s the King of the West and the Jiggman is the King of New York.
    May 15, 2020
AceShowbiz – Snoop Dogg wants to face off against Jay-Z as part of Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s “Verzuz” series of Instagram Live rap battles.
The virtual, livestream contests see each artist play one verse and one chorus from 20 hits they created for fans’ entertainment amid the coronavirus lockdown.
Previous editions have pitted Erykah Badu against Jill Scott, The-Dream up against Sean Garrett, and even Timbaland and Swizzy against one another – and Snoop has big plans for the next instalment.
Speaking to Fat Joe during a recent Instagram Live broadcast about wanting to face off against a rapper at the top of their game, he explained, “Biggie (Smalls, The Notorious B.I.G.) passed away, then Nas had it for a minute and then Jay-Z took it and ran with it for a numerous amount of years.”
“Then 50 Cent came and ran with it for his numerous amount of years. This is me looking at it from the outside, looking at New York rap,” the “Gin & Juice” star continued. “So for me, it would be Snoop vs. Jay-Z because he had been the King of New York around the same time I’ve been the King of the West.”
Jay has yet to publicly accept the challenge.
Swizz previously told Britain’s NME magazine of the series, “It’s not really a battle – it’s a celebration of our heroes in music, the ones who make us feel a certain type of way.”

Jay-Z Fires Back at His NFL Controversy Through Jay Electronica's 'Flux Capacitor'

    https://www.beyonce.com/

Aside from questioning the logic behind the ‘sell-out’ accusations, the ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker compares himself to Cleveland Browns star player Odell Beckham Jr. In the new song.
    Mar 14, 2020
AceShowbiz – Jay-Z has mocked allegations suggesting he sold himself out to go into business with bosses at America’s National Football League (NFL), insisting he doesn’t need the money.
The “Empire State of Mind” hitmaker shocked fans last summer (19) when he entered into a partnership with NFL officials via his Roc Nation firm, and was appointed the organisation’s live music entertainment strategist, overseeing big gigs including Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in early February.
The hip-hop mogul faced a backlash over the move, having previously criticised NFL executives’ treatment of quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has been out of a job since the end of the 2016/2017 season after kneeling during each game’s U.S. National Anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequality.
Jay-Z previously defended the business deal, insisting his ultimate goal is to use his new position inside the organisation to further various social justice initiatives, bolstering efforts with the $100 million (£80 million) pledged by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell over the next decade.
Now the rapper is responding to critics once more in song, as a featured artist on Jay Electronica’s long-awaited debut album, “A Written Testimony”.
On the track “Flux Capacitor”, Jay-Z questions the logic behind the “sell-out” accusations, and compares himself to Cleveland Browns star player Odell Beckham Jr., who is known for his one-handed catches.
    [embedded content]
“Why would I sell out? I’m already rich, don’t make no sense/Got more money than Goodell, a whole NFL bench,” he raps. “Did it one-handed like Odell, handcuffed to a jail/I would’ve stayed on the sideline if they could’ve tackled that s**t themselves.”

“A Written Testimony” dropped on Friday, March 13.
