    The ‘Mercury Lane’ crooner has shattered barriers in the country music industry as he scores two consecutive No. 1 singles on Billboard Country Airplay chart.

    Jimmie Allen continued to make history in the country music industry. The 34-year-old artist celebrated more milestones this year after becoming the first black musician to have his debut single sit at the first position on Billboard Country Airplay following the release of his single “Best Shot” in 2018.

    He’s back at the summit with a follow-up song “Make Me Want To”. It climbed up to the top spot after more than a year on the chart. The 58-week trek to No. 1 became the longest climb to the top in the history of the Country Airplay chart. The feat also made him the first black artist to have two consecutive chart toppers on country radio.

    ” ‘Make Me Want To’ is really just about a song about someone having feelings, catching ’em fast and not being ashamed to say [so],” Allen explained in an interview with ABC Radio. “I think being vulnerable is cool. And, you know, when you have feelings for someone else, or when you want to be with them, tell ’em. That’s really what the song is.”

    Meanwhile, the music video was inspired by his love for Disney, Harry Potter, and the classic love story “The Notebook. “I feel like authenticity is celebrated today more than ever, so with this video, I really wanted to highlight my quirky side,” so he told CMT.

    Both “Make Me Want To” and “Best Shot” have been certified platinum for selling over a million units. The tracks are taken from Allen’s first studio album “Mercury Lane” which came out in 2018.

    If his chart history is any indication, he is expected to make another wave as a new song called “This Is Us”, his collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus’ daughter Noah Cyrus, has been released. The track was recorded for his mini album “Bettie James” which came out last year.

    Besides dominating the country music charts, Jimmie Allen was critically lauded at notable awards show. He was nominated for New Artist of the Year at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards last year and won New Male Artist of the Year this year at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.

      Less than a week before the 56th Academy of Country Music takes place in Nashville, the ‘Best Shot’ crooner and the ‘I Hope’ singer are unraveled to be its early winners.

      Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett can add new trophy to their award collections. The two rising country music hitmakers have been announced as the early winners for the 56th Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.

      Less than a week before the event will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, the “Best Shot” crooner and the “I Hope” singer were hailed as the recipient of the Best New Artist of the Year titles. The two musicians are also set to perform at the gala which will take place on Sunday, April 18.

      Keith Urban, who will share hosting duties with Mickey Guyton, has recorded a personalized video card for both Barrett and Allen to inform them about their big win. Jimmie was at a studio when he was handed the tablet and watched Keith’s video, while Gabby instantly screamed and laughed when watching hers.

      “Oh my gosh. Yay! I’m so happy. Oh my gosh. Thank you so much. I love everybody. I don’t really know what to say. This is unbelievable. Thank you so much,” the 21-year-old exclaimed. “This is such an honor. Ever since I came into the country music community, everybody’s been absolutely wonderful to me. So thank you so much. It’s more than I deserve… this made the whole year for me.”

      The “American Idol” alum also shared her feat via Instagram. In her post, she wrote, “ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!! I got this news right as I arrived in Nashville w/ my hubby and sweet Baylah! God is so good and I am so thankful and blessed to be part of this country music community.”

      “THANK YOU! Ahhh! ACM New Female Artist of the Year! Thank you, thank you, thank you, @ACMawards. Tune in April 18 to see me perform 🙂 #ACMawards,” the “The First Noel” singer continued expressing her gratitude in the same caption.

      The 56th Academy of Country Music Awards will be broadcast live from three of the city’s most famous venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and The Bluebird Cafe.

      The ‘Best Shot’ singer and the ‘I Hope’ hitmaker have been announced as the winners of New Male and Female Artists of the Year respectively ahead of 2021 ACM Awards.

      Rising country singers Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett have scored early wins ahead of the 2021 ACM Awards.

      The ceremony doesn’t take place until 18 April, but on Thursday (08Apr21), event officials announced Allen as the New Male Artist of the Year while Barrett landed the female equivalent.

      The stars were both caught unawares by the surprise news, which was broken to Allen while in a studio control booth.

      “Check this out man, it came in the mail today,” a colleague said as he was handed a special video card featuring a pre-recorded clip from the prizegiving co-host, Keith Urban.

      After playing the message, Allen laughed and said, “Quit playin’, bro!” later adding, “Oh, my God.”

      Meanwhile, Barrett received the news as she sat at a table and squealed in excitement as she told a member of her team, “Oh my God! Now I know why you told me to put on my makeup and get dressed!”

      In recognition of their new titles, both winners have been given solo performance slots at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards, joining a line-up which also includes Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay, Maren Morris, Luke Combs, and Blake Shelton, among many others.

      Morris and Stapleton lead the 2021 ACM Awards nominations with six apiece.

      Mickey Guyton will join Urban to co-host the TV celebration, which will take place from the same three Nashville, Tennessee venues as last year (20) – the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, and Bluebird Cafe.
