    AceShowbiz – Oscar winner Taika Waititi will direct a new half-hour comedy-horror series starring Jude Law.
    Taika will also co-write the project with Peter Warren for bosses at the Showtime network, reports Deadline.
    Based on the graphic novel created by Rick Spears, James Callahan and Luigi Anderson, “The Auteur” combines elements of twisted romance and satire, and focuses on an auteur trying to make a great horror film after a flop, as a serial killer invades the set.
    ” ‘The Auteur’ unites the wildly imaginative filmmaker Taika Waititi and the barbed wit of Peter Warren with the undeniable Jude Law in a bloody love letter to the movies that will make you simultaneously die laughing and want to run for your life,” Amy Israel, Showtime’s executive vice president of Scripted Programming, writes in a statement.

      The ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ actor is expected to play the lead role in upcoming Showtime mini-series from the ‘Jojo Rabbit’ helmer.

      AceShowbiz – Jude Law is reportedly in talks to star in Taika Waititi’s showbiz satire mini-series, “The Auteur”.
      According to Variety, the actor is in the running to play the off-kilter title character in the Showtime series, which is to be co-written with Peter Warren, who penned the screenplay for the 2016 horror comedy “Ghost Team”.
      In addition to his role as executive producer, Taika will also be directing a few of the episodes, although further details of the show have yet to be announced.
      Jude will apparently also have an executive producer role on the program, similar to the set up he currently has on his HBO drama series, “The New Pope”.
      The rumoured casting comes after Taika became the first Maori filmmaker to win the Adapted Screenplay prize at the Academy Awards when he won his first-ever Oscar for “Jojo Rabbit” at the ceremony last weekend, February 9, 2020.
