Mick Jagger and his bandmates are announced to join the upcoming star-studded ‘One World: Together at Home’ concert curated by the ‘Poker Face’ singer for Covid-19 relief efforts.
    Apr 18, 2020
AceShowbiz – The Rolling Stones will perform during Lady GaGa’s star-studded “One World: Together at Home” livestreamed concert this weekend.
Gaga is curating Saturday’s April 18, 2020 two-hour global TV special, arranged in partnership with officials from Global Citizen and the World Health Organisation, and has already secured remote appearances by Paul McCartney, Elton John, Chris Martin, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, and Jennifer Lopez among many others.
And on Friday, the Stones were added as last minute additions to the bill, announcing their participation on Twitter.
“The Rolling Stones will be joining One World: #TogetherAtHome with @GlblCtzn and @WHO – Tune in tomorrow at 8pm ET, for this special broadcast event to honour healthcare workers on the frontlines of the #COVID19 pandemic,” a tweet from the band reads.
The gig, hosted by comedians Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon, will air simultaneously across the main U.S. TV networks from 8 P.M. EST, and be livestreamed on various digital platforms, as well as the Global Citizen Instagram and Facebook pages.
In the U.K., the BBC will broadcast a highlights show on Sunday – which will feature additional performances by British acts Little Mix, Sir Tom Jones, and Rag’n’Bone Man.
The U.S. event, will also feature the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Michael Buble, Annie Lennox, Common, The Killers, Luis Fonsi, Adam Lambert, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Ke$ha, and Jessie J.
GaGa has already helped to raise over $35 million for coronavirus relief efforts from corporations and donors, meaning fans have been asked to just “celebrate the heroic efforts of community health workers” during the telethon rather than make donations at a time when many are struggling with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lady GaGa: It's Inappropriate to Ask Fans for Donations Amid Covid-19 Crisis at Upcoming Concert

    Instagram

The Mother Monster clarifies that her ‘One World: Together at Home’ concert will not be a fundraising event because she feels it’s ill-timed to ask fans for money amid the pandemic.
    Apr 8, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa’s upcoming “One World: Together at Home” concert will not be a fundraising event, as she felt it was inappropriate to ask fans for donations amid the coronavirus crisis.
The Oscar winner will serve as curator for the show, staged in partnership with officials from Global Citizen and the World Health Organisation on April 18, 2020.
However, while the “Stupid Love” singer has already helped raise $35 million to fight the deadly illness over the past week, by reaching out to corporations and philanthropists, the “One World” event isn’t being held to add to the fund.
Speaking with U.S. late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel, who will present the show along with Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert, on Monday, April 6, 2020, GaGa explained, “The money will actually be raised before the special and we will not ask you for money during the special for a lot of reasons, mostly because we’re very cognisant of the fact that unemployment is rising and also that people are having a very hard time feeding their children.”
She clarified, “We want everyone to enjoy this show.”

During the segment, GaGa also called Apple CEO Tim Cook about a donation for the event, and managed to solicit a further $10 million pledge from the tech mogul.

Lady GaGa Admits Coronavirus Scraps Plan for Secret Coachella Set, Delays 'Chromatica' Release

    WENN

Though believing that art can provide joy and healing, the ‘Born This Way’ singer says that ‘it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on’ during the COVID-19 pandemic.
    Mar 25, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa is delaying the release of her new album after the coronavirus pandemic scuppered plans to promote “Chromatica” with a secret set at California’s Coachella festival.
The pop superstar had previously hoped to unleash her new material on 10 April and make a surprise return to the stage at Coachella to celebrate its launch, but now the festival has been postponed until October, GaGa has had to rethink her whole marketing plan.
In a lengthy note posted on social media on Tuesday, March 24, GaGa explains, “I wanted to tell you, that after a lot of deliberation, I’ve made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatica. I will announce a new 2020 release date soon.”
“This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn’t feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic.”
“I had so many fun things planned for us to celebrate together…,” she continues. “I had a secret Coachella set lined up, and a lot of other fun surprises, some of which I’m still planning to share with all of you very soon!”
And while GaGa’s Las Vegas residency shows for 30 April to 11 May were recently put on hold, the singer hopes the current health crisis will have subsided by late May, allowing for her other gigs – as well as her Chromatica Ball summer tour – to go ahead as scheduled.
The “Born This Way” hitmaker concludes the message by insisting Chromatica is “still very much on the way,” adding, “To my fans, I love you. I know you are disappointed. Probably angry and sad… I hope you can see that when the album does come out, I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, hug and kiss each other, and make it the most bombastic (sic) celebration of all time And until that time comes, LET’S ALL STAY HOME!”

GaGa is the latest artist to push back album release plans after Alicia Keys and HAIM also hit the pause button on the launch of their projects.

Lady GaGa Admits to Thinking About Canning 'Stupid Love' After Leak

    Instagram

Aside from sharing her thought on the online leak of her new single, the ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker opens up about spending two days in the California desert to film its music video.
    Mar 17, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa almost threw away months of preparation after a demo of her single “Stupid Love” leaked online.
The singer dropped the track, the lead single from her upcoming album “Chromatica”, last month but, after the tune leaked online in January, GaGa almost canned the track altogether.
“There was a minute where me and my manager, Bobby, were talking, ‘Do we change the single?’,” she said. “We’d just spent months and months developing this video and choreography. And I said, ‘Nope!’ ”
“You know why? Because the song, when it’s mixed, mastered and finished with the visuals, and everything I have to say about it – when all those things come together at once, that will be the art piece I’m making. Not a leak.”
Alongside the release, GaGa dropped an accompanying music video, shot entirely on an iPhone, featuring Gaga as a warrior leader, attempting to unite various tribes.
The star recalled shooting the clip with 50 dancers for two days straight in the California desert, before reflecting: “The damn thing lasts three-and-a-half minutes!”
“I want you to imagine people dancing for eight to 10 hours straight,” she explained. “I watched them work so hard – the blood and sweat. Scrapes from dancing in the desert or getting poked in the eye from a stud that knocked them in the face. They’re breathing in sand, they can’t see. The conditions alone were ridiculous.”
    [embedded content]
“I told the dancers before we left for the desert, ‘This might be the hardest thing you’ve ever done, and if it’s not, I did it wrong. But you can do it, and when you look back on this time, you’ll remember how strong you are.’ ”

Artist of the Week: Lady GaGa

With her flamboyant stage show and costumes, as well as her music that resonates with young and old alike, the superstar sold more than 27 million albums in just a few years into her career.
    Mar 16, 2020
AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa is truly one of the best pop sensations in this decade. With her flamboyant stage show and costumes, as well as her music that resonates with young and old alike, the superstar sold more than 27 million albums in just a few years into her career and has a massive, devoted fans called Little Monsters.
Making a name for herself since her debut album “The Flame” in 2007, GaGa recently made a comeback with a new single entitled “Stupid Love”. The new song additionally marked her return to her theatrical pop root after she switched style on her last album “Joanne”.
Considering this, it’s only natural that people were very hyped over her new single. “Stupid Love” debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100, becoming her sixteenth single to make it to the top five of the weekly chart. It also marked her highest-debuting entry since “The Edge of Glory” launched at No. 3 almost nine years ago.
Not only doing well on music charts, but “Stupid Love” also received praises from critics. For instance, Harper’s Bazaar described the song as “upbeat cut with big vocals and dance and electronic-inspired production,” seemingly “poised to be another radio hit from the singer.”
Meanwhile, Spencer Kornhaber of The Atlantic called the single a “glorious comeback” and a “return to form not only for the singer, but also for her genre.” Heaping praises for GaGa, he continued, “Gaga’s voice is so big and personable that a sense of humanity remains intact.”
“Stupid Love” is set to be included on GaGa’s upcoming album “Chromatica”. She previously said of the record, “We are definitely dancing… I put all my heart, all my pain, all my messages from the other realm that I hear of… what they tell me to tell the world and I put it into music that I believe to be so fun and you know, energetically really pure. I want people to dance and feel happy. I would like to put out music that a big chunk of the world will hear, and it will become a part of their daily lives and make them happy every single day.”
“Chromatica” will hit the stores on April 10.

    [embedded content]

The much-anticipated visuals features two men fighting in a desert alien world before the pop superstar, who sports an all-pink ensemble, shows up to put an end to the fuss.

AceShowbiz – Lady GaGa is returning to her quirky musical roots. Following much anticipation, the pop superstar has released her first solo single in three years entitled “Stupid Love” along with its accompanying music video that finds her portraying a pink-haired extraterrestrial beauty.
The visuals opens with an introduction that read, “The world rots in conflict. Many tribes battle for dominance, While the Spiritual ones pray and sleep for peace, and the Kindness punks fight for Chromatica…” The scene then changes to show two men fighting in a desert alien world until a pink-haired GaGa shows up to put an end to the fuss.
In the music video, there are also scenes of the singer dancing while singing along to the song. “Now it’s time to free me from the chain/ I gotta find that peace, is it too late or.” she sings in the second verse. “Could this love protect me from the pain?/ I would battle for you (Even if I break in two).”
Produced by BloodPop, “Stupid Love” serves as the lead single off GaGa’s upcoming sixth album that still doesn’t have a title nor a release date. Details of the album are also currently scarce as of now. It will be her first solo album since 2017’s “Joanne”, which debuted atop Billboard 200 and became her fourth album to top the weekly chart. Receiving positive reviews from music critics, it was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards while its title track won Best Pop Solo Performance.
Last year, GaGa also won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media for her Bradley Cooper duet “Shallow” that served as the soundtrack to “A Star Is Born”. The song was additionally named Best Original Song at the 2019 Academy Award, earning GaGa her first Oscars win.
