    Mick Jagger and Dave Grohl Release COVID-19 Rock Anthem 'Eazy Sleazy'

    Aside from lamenting life under lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic, The Rolling Stones singer and the Foo Fighters frontman also mock anti-vaxxers in their new song.

    Mick Jagger and Dave Grohl have their unique way in lamenting life during the coronavirus pandemic. Before celebrating an imminent return to normality, The Rolling Stones singer and the Foo Fighters frontman dropped a COVID-19 rock anthem called “Eazy Sleazy”.

    Announcing the song release was the 77-year-old musician on Tuesday, April 13. Attaching the link to its music video, he wrote on Twitter, “I wanted to share this song that I wrote about coming out of lockdown, with some much needed optimism – thank you to Dave Grohl @foofighters for jumping on drums, bass and guitar, it was a lot of fun working with you on this-hope you all enjoy ‘Eazy Sleazy’!”

    Jagger’s post was then retweeted by Grohl via Foo Fighters’ Twitter account. He penned, “It’s hard to put into words what recording this song with Sir @MickJagger means to me. It’s beyond a dream come true. Just when I thought life couldn’t get any crazier……and it’s the song of the summer, without a doubt!!”

    Dave Grohl and Mick Jagger released COVID-19 rock anthem ‘Eazy Sleazy’.

    In the new track, Jagger rhymes about trends during the lockdown such as masks wearing and Zoom calls while Grohl plays on drums, bass and guitar. The lyrics read, “Thats a pretty mask/ But never take a chance/ TikTok stupid dance/ Took a Samba class/ I landed on my a**/ Trying to write a tune /You better hook me up to Zoom.”

    The duo then touches on returning to life post-lockdown. “We escaped from the prison walls/ Open the windows and open the doors/ But it’s easy easy/ Everything’s gonna get really freaky/ Alright on the night/ It’s gonna be a garden of earthly delights.” They go on singing, “Easy sleazy it’s gonna be smooth and greasy/ Yeah easy believe me/ It’ll only be a memory you’re trying to remember to forget.”

    Jagger also pokes fun at the anti-vaxxers, flat-earthers and global warming deniers. He sings, “Shooting the vaccine/ Bill Gates is in my bloodstream/ It’s mind control/ The earth is flat and cold/ It’s never warming up/ The arctic’s turned to slush/ The second comings late/ There’s aliens in the deep state.”

      The original darker lyrics to The Rolling Stones’ comeback single called ‘Living in a Ghost Town’ contain eerie references to the global coronavirus pandemic.

      AceShowbiz – Mick Jagger rewrote the lyrics to The Rolling Stones new single because he feared they were too dark in their eerie similarities to the events of the Covid-19 pandemic.
      The band debuted “Living in a Ghost Town”, their first original tune since 2012’s “Doom and Gloom”, on Thursday, April 23, 2020, which they first recorded a year ago while working on music for a new album.
      Fans have noted the prescience of lyrics that include, “life was so beautiful, then we all got locked down,” as people around the world face lockdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic. So have the band – and Mick says the original version of the song was even more on the nose, as it contained darker references to disease.
      “It was written about being in a place that was all full of life and is now bereft of life,” the 76-year-old tells Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “When I went back to what I’d written originally, it was all full of plague terms and things like that.”
      “I never actually used that, but it was all there and Keith (Richards) and I both had the idea that we should release it, but I said I’ve got to rewrite it because some of it was not going to work. Some of it was a bit weird and a bit too dark.”
      The “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” hitmaker also updated fans on progress on the new Stones album, which will be their first full studio release of original material since 2005’s “A Bigger Bang”.
      He said, “We’ve been recording and we’ve got some really good stuff,” but fans shouldn’t “hold their breath” for a release date as he wanted the new record to be “great” rather than just “good.”

      Jagger laughs off McCartney’s claims that the Fab Four are superior than the Stones, insisting that there’s no competition because they each have their own appeal.

      AceShowbiz – Mick Jagger is amused whenever Paul McCartney insists The Beatles were better than The Rolling Stones because he is adamant there is no comparison.
      The age-old question is one that has entertained music fans for decades, and McCartney recently reignited the debate by claiming the Fab Four’s wider appeal made them the superior group.
      “(The Stones) are rooted in the blues,” the “Hey Jude” hitmaker recently told U.S. shockjock Howard Stern. “When they are writing stuff, it has to do with the blues. We had a little more influences. There’s a lot of differences, and I love the Stones, but I’m with you: The Beatles were better.”
      Jagger was asked for his thoughts on his old pal’s remarks during a new appearance on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music show, and he couldn’t help but laugh off the comments.
      “That’s so funny,” the singer responded. “He’s a sweetheart. There’s obviously no competition.”
      Jagger went on to explain what he believes are the major differences between the two iconic brands. “The Rolling Stones is a big concert band in other decades and other areas, when the Beatles never even did an arena tour, (or) Madison Square Garden (in New York) with a decent sound system,” he said. “They broke up before that business started, the touring business for real.”
      “We started doing stadium gigs in the Seventies and (are) still doing them now,” Jagger continued. “That’s the real big difference between these two bands: one band is unbelievably luckily still playing in stadiums, and then the other band doesn’t exist.”
      The Beatles called it quits in 1970 as McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison all embarked on solo careers while the Stones have continued to perform sold-out shows across the world.
      Their current trek, the No Filter Tour, has been put on an indefinite hold amid the coronavirus crisis, but Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts have continued to stay busy while in isolation, debuting “Living in a Ghost Town”, their first original tune since 2012’s “Doom and Gloom”, on Thursday, April 23, 2020.
      They also took part in last weekend’s “One World: Together at Home” broadcast, on which they performed “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”.
