Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson Cuddle Up in Adorable 'Mission: Impossible 7' Set Pic

    Paramount Pictures

The Benji Dunn depicter shares a candid behind-the-scenes snap from the upcoming movie, capturing a cute and sweet moment between the stars as opposed to the film’s intense plotline.

    Apr 9, 2021

    AceShowbiz –
“Mission: Impossible 7” (“Mission: Impossible VII”) cast knows how to keep it warm despite the chilling weather wherever they are. Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson (II) have been caught on camera cuddling up on the set of the action movie.

Bringing forward the adorable snap that captured the candid behind-the-scenes moment is none other than Pegg himself. In the shot, Cruise was sandwiched between his two co-stars while he’s lying shirtless on a black mat that was rolled out on the muddy set. Not minding the space invasion, the 58-year-old hunk was all smiles while putting his arms around Pegg and Ferguson’s shoulders.

It appears that Cruise and Ferguson had just filmed a scene which requires them to soak in the water and were warming themselves up on the floor under a white sheet when Pegg, who was fully clothed, jumped in and joined his two co-stars for a group hug. “Chilling between shots. Standard formation,” he quipped in the caption.

His post caught the eye of Michelle Monaghan, who portrays Ethan Hunt’s wife in several “Mission: Impossible” movies. She playfully responded, “Ok. We should probably have a family sit down about this.”

Pegg has been sharing funny stories from the set of the seventh “Mission: Impossible” movie. Taking to his Instagram Story on Thursday, April 8, he described a scene in which he claimed that his character defeats Ethan in a running race.

“Ethan and Benji have a running race and Ethan is really struggling with Benji and Benji is gonna win,” he began in a series of clips. “And Ethan can see that Benji is a faster runner than he is and so he trips him up! Benji goes down really hard and he bangs himself. And then there’s an inquiry. Benji goes to the head of the IMF and says I’m fine and I’m not worried. I’m not as fast as Ethan Hunt. And then Benji leaves the office and pulls his mask off and it’s Ethan, who has been lying because he knows Benji’s a faster runner than he is.”

“Mission: Impossible 7” is currently in production under the direction of Christopher McQuarrie, who also wrote the script. Ving Rhames and Angela Bassett are among the returning actors, with Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff and Esai Morales being added to the cast in new roles. The movie is slated for November 19 release in the United States.

'Mission: Impossible 7' to No Longer Be Filmed Back-to Back With the 8th Installment

    Paramount Pictures

Director Christopher McQuarrie, in the meantime, shuts down reports that the seventh movie in the action franchise had been disrupted again by COVID-19 pandemic-related travel issues.

    Feb 16, 2021
AceShowbiz – Tom Cruise’s seventh and eighth outings as Ethan Hunt in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise will no longer be filming back to back.
The action star and director Christopher McQuarrie have been battling COVID-related dramas to complete the seventh movie in the popular series, and now Deadline sources have revealed Paramount bosses have rescheduled plans to shoot “Mission: Impossible VIII”.
That’s partly because Cruise won’t be able to film while promoting “Top Gun: Maverick”, which is set for release on July 2.
He is expected to pick up the eighth “Mission: Impossible” movie later this year.

Meanwhile, in an Instagram post on Sunday, February 14, McQuarrie shot down U.K. tabloid reports suggesting “Mission: Impossible VII” had been disrupted again by pandemic-related travel issues. Instead, the filmmaker revealed the cast and crew had completed filming in the Middle East and were on their way back to London to apply a few “finishing touches.”

Prior to this, it was reported that production was halted as some people refused to work and demanded to head back to the U.K. before the country’s new travel restrictions are implemented. An insider explained, “The whole production has hit yet another issue and there have been revolts among the cast and crew.”
“For quite a few of them, the prospect of having to quarantine in a hotel back in the U.K. is a step too far and they’ve demanded to be flown home before the rules change. The studio has had to fund a jet back and the missing cast and crew will inevitably cause another delay,” the source added. “It was hoped that filming in the UAE would provide some flexibility but that changed when the UK shut its borders.”
“Mission: Impossible VII” is still on track to hit cinemas in mid-November, while “Mission: Impossible VIII” remains on the calendar for early November, 2022.

'Mission: Impossible 7' Filming Put on Pause Again Due to Revolts Among Cast and Crew

    Paramount Pictures

The production on the upcoming seventh ‘Mission: Impossible’ film starring Tom Cruise has been shut down again as the cast and crew members allegedly refused to work.

    Feb 15, 2021
AceShowbiz – The cast and crew of the new “Mission: Impossible” movie have paused filming amid more coronavirus-related issues.
The action movie starring Tom Cruise has been busily filming in the Middle East over recent weeks, but production work has been halted after people reportedly refused to work and demanded to head back to the U.K. before the country’s new travel restrictions are implemented.
An insider explained, “The whole production has hit yet another issue and there have been revolts among the cast and crew.”
“For quite a few of them, the prospect of having to quarantine in a hotel back in the U.K. is a step too far and they’ve demanded to be flown home before the rules change. The studio has had to fund a jet back and the missing cast and crew will inevitably cause another delay.”
“It was hoped that filming in the UAE would provide some flexibility but that changed when the UK shut its borders.”

The upcoming film – which also stars the likes of Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, and Hayley Atwell – has been delayed numerous times due to coronavirus-related issues.
And the situation is said to be taking a toll on the production staff, a number of whom no longer “feel it’s worth.”
The source told The Sun newspaper, “Morale is really down and many of the younger staff who aren’t earning the big bucks just don’t feel it’s worth it any more.”
The eagerly-anticipated movie first went into production in February, shortly before much of the world entered lockdown because of the pandemic.
And due to various delays over recent months, there appears to be some concern over whether the film’s release will need to be delayed.

Reports of Tom Cruise Bringing COVID-19 Robots to 'Mission: Impossible 7' Set Debunked

    Paramount Pictures

It was previously said that the Ethan Hunt depicter and producer of the movie bought robots to enforce safety on the film’s set after two crew members broke COVID-19 protocols.

    Jan 16, 2021
AceShowbiz – Having been known for going great lengths to ensure safety on the “Mission: Impossible VII” set, Tom Cruise has been reported taking an extreme measure to enforce COVID-19 protocols. The actor and producer of the action film series was said to have bought two robots to patrol the set.
As filming is reportedly set to resume in the U.K. later this week before moving to Dubai, “Tom is so serious about making sure the shoot isn’t shut down that he’s splashed out on these robots as he can’t be everywhere to ensure people are behaving themselves,” a source told The Sun.
The robots, which reportedly can administer on-the-spot COVID-19 tests, were described by a source as “really sophisticated and rather intimidating. It’s like the Terminator only not as violent.”

A rep from the “Mission: Impossible VII” production has not responded to the story, but /Film’s source has begged to differ. Debunking the reports of Cruise bringing robots to the set, the source told the site “the story is inaccurate and confirmed that there are no robots on set.”
Cruise was caught launching into an expletive-laden rant on the London set of “M:I 7” in December 2020 after two crew members broke COVID-19 protocols. He reportedly spotted two assistants huddled around a monitor, watching playback and ignoring social distancing rules he had helped to introduce.
In an audio obtained by The Sun, the 58-year-old actor was heard yelling at the crew, “I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever! And if you don’t do it, you’re fired, and I see you do it again you’re f**king gone. And if anyone in this crew does it… And you, don’t you ever f**king do it again. That’s it. No apologies.”
His co-star Vanessa Kirby later came to Cruise’s defense, telling Extra in an interview earlier this month, “I think being safe is the message for everybody, really.” The actress, whose sister works as part of the assistant’s director’s team on the film, added, “For me, seeing my sister doing it on the ground and every day coming home from work and it all going well, it was all inspiring. The whole industry has been shut down – cinemas, theaters, film sets. Seeing her go and do it and be one of the first ones up gave me hope.”

Vanessa Kirby Defends Tom Cruise's Covid-19 Safety Rant on 'MI:7' Set

    Paramount Pictures

The actress who plays White Widow in the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise insists her co-star was angry because he’s just trying to ensure everyone was safe on the set.

    Jan 9, 2021
AceShowbiz – Vanessa Kirby has defended Tom Cruise for his now infamous rant on the “Mission: Impossible 7” set last month (Dec20), insisting the actor was just trying to ensure everyone’s safety amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a clip shared online by Britain’s The Sun newspaper, Tom lost his cool when he spotted two assistants huddled around a monitor, watching playback and ignoring social distancing rules he had helped to introduce.
“If I see you do it again, you’re f**king gone. And if anyone in this crew does it, that’s it,” he was heard shouting in the audio clip.
The outburst saw five staff members quit the project, according to reports, but Vanessa – who stars alongside Tom in the film franchise – insisted he was just doing his bit to keep everyone safe.

Asked for her opinion on Tom’s rant during an interview with “Extra”, Vanessa replied, “I think being safe is the message for everybody, really.”
The actress’ sister works as part of the assistant’s director’s team on the film, with Vanessa adding, “For me, seeing my sister doing it on the ground and every day coming home from work and it all going well, it was all inspiring. The whole industry has been shut down – cinemas, theatres, film sets. Seeing her go and do it and be one of the first ones up gave me hope.”
Vanessa also revealed she’s going to be returning to the “Mission: Impossible 7” set “next week or something” and is looking forward to getting stuck back into the physically-demanding role.
“I’m really excited. I think with every Mission… the stunts get riskier and there’s ones on this that have been terrifying, and there’s many more to be filmed… It’s a pleasure for all of us to be back,” she smiled.

Tom Cruise to Move 'Mission: Impossible 7' Filming to Former Secret Military Base After COVID Rant

    Instagram

The lead actor and producer of the upcoming action film is reportedly spending millions to build the world’s most secure studio in Surrey, South East England after lashing out at crew members over COVID breach.

    Dec 28, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tom Cruise is once again willing to go great lengths to ensure the safety of the cast and crew of “Mission: Impossible VII” while filming on the movie continues on. Following his on-set rant due to breach of COVID-19 protocols, the actor/producer is said to be building a COVID-19 secure studio at a former military base.
Per reported by The Sun, the Ethan Hunt depicter is spending millions to complete the new set at the former top secret military base in Surrey, South East England. When completed, the modified tank design base Longcross is hoped to be the world’s most COVID-secure studio.
Cruise was caught launching into a profanity-laden tirade at crew members on the set in Leavesden, Herts earlier this month, after allegedly seeing two crew members standing too close to one another in front of a computer screen.

Following the rant, Cruise reportedly took a break from filming the action movie for an early Christmas holiday. Friday, December 18 was reportedly his last day on the set for the year end and he reportedly planned to take his private jet to Miami, Florida where he would spend some time with his son Connor.
“Tom has decided he’s ready for a break and is now going to wind up filming for 2020 on Friday, and fly to Miami over the weekend on his private jet to spend Christmas with his son,” a source told The Sun. “It’s the end of a really tough year, and a bit of time out seems like a good idea for everyone as tensions have been mounting for a while.”
Meanwhile, some crew members have come in Cruise’s defense following the rant. “Tom helped set up the COVID protocol. Of course, he takes it personally when the protocol is broken,” a source from the U.K. production explained. “In all the years of filming the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise, no one has ever even heard Tom raise his voice. He is usually just laser-focused on filming. This movie is very different though. He has to film while making sure everyone stays safe.”
Cruise was previously reported to have paid £500,000 to rent an old cruise ship for the cast and crew of “M: I 7” to isolate on.

The Ethan Hunt depicter in the action film series has been caught on tape yelling threats at crew members who were alleged to have violated the coronavirus protocols on the set.

    Dec 23, 2020

But now some of his colleagues are coming to his defence.

A source from the U.K. production behind the seventh instalment of the film series tells People magazine, “It’s hard to [describe] how incredibly intense and focused he is on making every movie the absolute best possible. The ‘Mission: Impossible’ movies are very special to him. They are ‘his’ movies.”
“Tom helped set up the COVID protocol. Of course, he takes it personally when the protocol is broken. In all the years of filming the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise, no one has ever even heard Tom raise his voice. He is usually just laser-focused on filming. This movie is very different though. He has to film while making sure everyone stays safe.”
Another set source adds, “Tom’s whole life is his work. He feels the pressure of how scary things look now. He does not want any further disruption. There is a lot at stake. When he sees something less than professional, he wants to make it right.”
In his leaked rant, Cruise threatened to fire “Mission: Impossible VII” crew members if he saw them ignoring the guidelines put in place to protect everyone on set from COVID.

Tom Cruise Taking a Break From Filming After Angry Rant on 'Mission: Impossible 7' Set

    WENN

The main star of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie franchise is reportedly going to return to Miami for an early Christmas break following his tirade on the set.

    Dec 19, 2020
AceShowbiz – Tom Cruise is reportedly wrapping his 2020 work commitments early following his much-publicised on-set rants.
The superstar lost his cool recently when he spotted two assistants huddled around a monitor, watching playback, ignoring social distancing rules he had helped to introduce to try and keep the set of the forthcoming “Mission: Impossible 7” coronavirus-free.
He launched into a furious tirade threatening to fire anyone who didn’t take the rules seriously and, according to The Sun, the 58-year-old actor will be taking a break from filming the movie for an early Christmas holiday.
According to the publication, Friday (18Dec20) will be his final day on set for the year and, from there, he plans to take his private jet to Miami, Florida where he’ll spend some time with his son Connor.
“It has been exhausting keeping the production on track for so long, and it’s not getting any easier – Christmas can’t come soon enough,” an insider told the outlet.

“Tom has decided he’s ready for a break and is now going to wind up filming for 2020 on Friday, and fly to Miami over the weekend on his private jet to spend Christmas with his son.”
The source added, “It’s the end of a really tough year, and a bit of time out seems like a good idea for everyone as tensions have been mounting for a while.”
During his first rant, Cruise hinted at his exhaustion, claiming he was in constant contact with studios, insurance companies and producers as the production was seen as the “gold standard” for filming amid the pandemic.
However, according to officials from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the mask he’s been snapped wearing on set, featuring a carbon filter and breathing valves, may be ineffective in preventing the spread of coronavirus.
“This type of mask may not prevent you from spreading COVID-19 to others,” they state, reported TMZ. “The hole in the material may allow your respiratory droplets to escape and reach others.”
