    Aug 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Filmmaker Ed Zwick has moved on from plans to revive his hit TV show “thirtysomething” by creating a new romantic comedy starring Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Blake Lively.
Zwick has written and will produce “The Making Of”, which revolves around two aged filmmakers (Gere and Keaton) as they work on a film about their courtship with actors played by Lively and Miranda, while their marriage falls apart.
The film is set to shoot in the spring (21).
Until recently, Zwick and his production partner Marshall Herskovitz were working on a new TV drama focused on the grown-up kids from their hit show “thirtysomething”, but the project was shelved by TV bosses at ABC in June.
The sequel was set to revisit the characters of the show through the eyes of their grown-up children, played by Odette Annable, Chris Wood, and Patrick Fugit. Original stars Ken Olin, Mel Harris, Timothy Busfield, Patty Wettig, Melanie Mayron, and Polly Draper had all signed on to appear in the new series.

The former Disney star, who is known for her sex-positive mindset, made history on the adult subscription service last week (ends August 21) by becoming the first account holder to bank $1 million (£760,000) in her first 24 hours, and she reveals her earnings from posting raunchy content online and engaging with paying fans have since doubled.
Discussing her big payday, which Thorne plans to use for charity and to establish her own production company, she said, “You can be me, or this talented girl from Montana, and OnlyFans could change your life – if you want it to, of course.”

“It’s a feature we are researching as I’m living it currently,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “What are the ins and outs? What does a platform like this do to its users? How far are you willing to go, and how far do you WANT to go?”
She has teamed up with “The Florida Project” director Sean Baker for the movie, which is in the early stages of development.

AceShowbiz – Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union are keen to reunite for a “Bring It On” sequel.
The actresses starred alongside one another in the classic 2000 cheerleading comedy movie and, during a Zoom reunion in honour of the film’s 20th anniversary with director Peyton Reed and writer Jessica Bendinger, they took the opportunity to pitch a sequel.
“The impact, 20 years later, that this movie had and continues to have, that’s awesome,” Gabrielle gushed. “So whatever that we may one day come up with, I mean, Kirsten, maybe we’re like co-heads of the PTA. I don’t know.”
“Or we run a cheer school like Cheer,” Kirsten added, referencing the Netflix docu-series about the cheerleading team at Navarro College.
Inspired by the idea, Gabrielle then asked if they can be the ones who gets to decide who gets to be on the mat, like Navarro’s head cheer coach, Monica Aldama.
“Yeah!” Kirsten responded. “I feel like it’d be fun if we – I mean, it has to be a competition against somebody now.”
Five direct-to-video sequels were released off the back of the original “Bring It On” movie, with none of the follow-up instalments featuring the original cast.

The London school aims to provide an outlet for young people from tough backgrounds, with Idris signing up seven recruits who will learn boxing skills from former champions, as well as discipline, how to train, and life lessons.
In a press release announcing the new series, Idris says, “I see history constantly repeating itself and can empathise with these kids. I believe there is a better way to teach people that you don’t need knives to protect yourself.”

I want this project to be an ongoing presence that will continue to provide support and education for the community for years to come.”

  • Kate Winslet Credits Her Epidemiologist Role in 'Contagion' for Saving Her and Family From Covid-19

The ‘Mildred Pierce’ actress claims her role in Steven Soderbergh’s 2011 feature film about deadly respiratory virus prepared her for the coronavirus pandemic.
    Aug 27, 2020
AceShowbiz – Kate Winslet’s role as an epidemiologist in 2011 drama “Contagion” prepared her for the horrors of the coronavirus pandemic.
The actress reveals being part of Steven Soderbergh’s star-studded movie, about a deadly disease that spreads from China to the U.S. and kills millions, made her hyper-aware of the necessary safety measures early on.
“People thought I was crazy because I had been walking around wearing a mask for weeks, going into the grocery store and wiping everything down with isopropyl alcohol and wearing gloves,” she tells the The Hollywood Reporter. “Then all of a sudden, March 13 came around, and people were like, ‘F**k, where do I get one of those masks?'”
The star, who appeared alongside Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Laurence Fishburne in the film, saved herself and her family from the virus, but several friends fell ill.
“One was in L.A. and was very lucky to get on a trial using convalescent plasma and did really, really well in the space of, like, 72 hours after the treatment,” she added. “And a dialect coach who lives in London has had it, was in hospital for 11 weeks, is out, and has had every lung test, blood test, blood pressure test, and is clear of everything but just cannot get better – is breathless, lethargic, still feels very unwell (sic).”
In March (20), Winslet joined co-stars Damon, Fishburne, and Jennifer Ehle for a Public Service Announcement on the safety measures needed to protect people against the virus.

  • Kate Winslet Embarks on Gay Romance With Saoirse Ronan in Trailer for Controversial Film 'Ammonite'

    [embedded content]

The Francis Lee-directed drama tells the story of paleontologist and fossil hunter Mary Anning (Winslet), who falls for Charlotte Murchison (Ronan) as the latter takes up an apprenticeship under her.
    Aug 26, 2020
AceShowbiz – The first official trailer for Francis Lee’s controversial film “Ammonite” has been shared for viewing pleasure. The movie stars Kate Winslet as acclaimed but overlooked paleontologist and fossil hunter Mary Anning, who works alone on the rugged coastline in the south of the country.
Set in 1840s England, the film follows Mary who now searches for common fossils to sell to tourists to support herself and her ailing mother. One day, Charlotte (Saoirse Ronan) and her husband pay her a visit. “My wife, she hasn’t been at all well of late,” says the husband, played by James McArdle. “She suffers from melancholia. I want her to walk the shoreline with you, learn from you.” Mary initially turns it down, saying, “I’m not looking for an apprentice,” but the husband offers a handsome payment that is too hard to resist.
As Charlotte takes apprenticeship under Mary, the two bond despite their initial clash due to their different social classes and personalities. The trailer sees Mary and Charlotte kissing as the latter says, “I don’t want to go back to the life I had before you.”
“Ammonite” has been tipped of Oscars, but it was met with criticism when it was announced last year that the film would focus on a romance that Mary shared with another woman. “I do not believe there is any evidence to back up portraying her as a gay woman,” family member Barbara Anning said to the Telegraph, calling the decision “sensational.”
Another relative, Lorraine Anning, begged to differ, saying that “as long as it’s well presented and tastefully done” then it doesn’t matter.
Explaining his take on Mary’s life story, Lee said earlier this year, “It’s not a biopic” but is inspired by Mary’s life and also his research into same-sex female relationships of the period. “The idea of two women actually in a relationship together was just not a thought anybody ever had within society,” he stated.
“Ammonite” was set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and play at the Telluride Film Festival prior their cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will now receive its first screening in September as part of this year’s Toronto film festival. The movie will be released on November 13.
